Notes: Why the Quran is a Wise Book- Shaikh Faisal

WHY IS THE QURAN A WISE BOOK
by Shaikh Abdullah Faisal

 1. Allah is the Author and Allah is wise
Glorified be your Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they attribute unto Him! And peace be on the Messengers! And all the praise and thanks be to Allah, Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). (Surah As-Saaffaat 37:180-182-182) (Allah is free of all human imperfections)

 2. Quran has absolutely no contradictions, no discrepanciencies, no flaws, no far-fetchedness

3. it coincided with our natural instincts
So set you (O Muhammad ) your face towards the religion of pure Islamic Monotheism Hanifa (worship none but Allah Alone) Allah's Fitrah (i.e. Allah's Islamic Monotheism), with which He has created mankind. No change let there be in Khalq-illah (i.e. the Religion of Allah Islamic Monotheism), that is the straight religion, but most of men know not. (Surah Ar-Room 30:30)
Ex. Allah has permitted trading and forbidden Riba (usury).. (Surah Al Baqarah 2:275)

 4. it is just(no opression)
 This is because of that (evil) which your hands have sent before you. And certainly, Allah is never unjust to (His) slaves. (3:182)
On the authority of Abu Dharr Al-Ghafari, of the prophet is that among the sayings he relates from his Lord is that He said "O My servants, I have forbidden oppression for Myself and have made it forbidden amongst you, so do not oppress one another [40 Hadith –Imam Nawawi 23]
Ex. Cut off (from the wrist joint) the (right) hand of the thief, male or female, as a recompense for that which they committed, a punishment by way of example from Allah. And Allah is All-Powerful, All-Wise. (5:38)

 5. it abrogates all previous revelations
Whatever a Verse (revelation) do We abrogate or cause to be forgotten, We bring a better one or similar to it. Know you not that Allah is able to do all things? (2:106)
This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion. But as for him who is forced by severe hunger, with no inclination to sin (such can eat these above-mentioned meats), then surely, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (5:3)

 6. it doesnt place on u a burden more than u can bear
Allah burdens not a person beyond his scope. He gets reward for that (good) which he has earned, and he is punished for that (evil) which he has earned... (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:286)
Abrrogatedà To Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on the earth, and whether you disclose what is in your ownselves or conceal it, Allah will call you to account for it. Then He forgives whom He wills and punishes whom He wills. And Allah is Able to do all things. (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:284)

 7. Allah sent it down gradually to make it easier to understand, memorize and practice
 8. some surahs were revealed in Makkah and some in Madina (revealed according to the society and environment)
 Makkah--> Tawheed (Aqeedah)
 Madina--> Fiqh (the Sharia)

shaikh faisal_2000: 24:11
Verily! Those who brought forth the slander (against 'Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) the wife of the Prophet ) are a group among you. Consider it not a bad thing for you. Nay, it is good for you. Unto every man among them will be paid that which he had earned of the sin, and as for him among them who had the greater share therein, his will be a great torment. (Surah An-Noor 24:11)
And they brought his shirt stained with false blood. He said: "Nay, but your ownselves have made up a tale. So (for me) patience is most fitting. And it is Allah (Alone) Whose help can be sought against that which you assert." (12:18)
He said: "Nay, but your ownselves have made up a tale. So (for me) patience is most fitting. And it is Allah (Alone) Whose help can be sought against that which you assert." (Surah Yusuf 12:18) "Bal Sawwalat Lakum Anfusukum Amraa, Fa Sabrun Jameel"
O Prophet! Why do you ban (for yourself) that which Allah has made lawful to you, seeking to please your wives? And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (Surah At-Tahreem 66:1)
shaikh faisal_2000: 4:145
Verily, the hyprocrites will be in the lowest depths (grade) of the Fire; no helper will you find for them. (Surah An-Nisaa' 4:145)
shaikh faisal_2000: 9:84
And never (O Muhammad ) pray (funeral prayer) for any of them (hypocrites) who dies, nor stand at his grave. Certainly they disbelieved in Allah and His Messenger, and died while they were Fasiqun (rebellious, - disobedient to Allah and His Messenger. (Surah At-Tawbah 9:84)
shaikh faisal_2000: 8:67
It is not for a Prophet that he should have prisoners of war (and free them with ransom) until he had made a great slaughter (among his enemies) in the land. You desire the good of this world (i.e. the money of ransom for freeing the captives), but Allah desires (for you) the Hereafter. And Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise.(Surah Al-Anfaal 8:67)

 9. it coincides with all scientific facts of life
(no stupidity like has found its way into previous revelation)

10. no gramatical errors
 Quran is the textbook of the Arabic language

And make ready against them all you can of power, including steeds of war (tanks, planes, missiles, artillery, etc.) to threaten the enemy of Allah and your enemy, and others besides whom, you may not know but whom Allah does know. And whatever you shall spend in the Cause of Allah shall be repaid unto you, and you shall not be treated unjustly.
 (8:60)--> Muhsin Khan (Noble Quran)
Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies of Allah and your enemies and others besides whom ye may not know but whom Allah doth know. Whatever ye shall spend in the cause of Allah, shall be repaid unto you, and ye shall not be treated unjustly
 (8:60)--> Yusuf Ali Translation
 correct translation: TERRORIZE not THREATEN

 11. it explains to us the psychology/ mentality of man
 12. it is applicable for past/present/future
 Quran will always be applicable
 13. able to express big ideas with short sentences
 when u take life, u save life (baqarah:179)
 And there is (a saving of) life for you in Al-Qisas (the Law of Equality in punishment), O men of understanding, that you may become Al-Muttaqun (the pious - see V.2:2).
 (2:179)

 14. Quran was revealed in a rhythmic form to make it easy to memorize
 15. The Quran was revealed in the best language, the Arabic language
 Verily, We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur'an in order that you may understand.
 (12:2)

There is not a moving (living) creature on earth, nor a bird that flies with its two wings, but are communities like you. We have neglected nothing in the Book, then unto their Lord they (all) shall be gathered. (6:38)

 16. Quran is a history book
 when u know wat was, u will understand wat is, the present gives u a peep into the future because history repeats itself
  (They took to flight because of their) arrogance in the land and their plotting of evil. But the evil plot encompasses only him who makes it. Then, can they expect anything (else), but the Sunnah (way of dealing) of the peoples of old? So no change will you find in Allah's Sunnah (way of dealing), and no turning off will you find in Allah's Sunnah (way of dealing).
 (35:43)

 3 reasons why history repeats itself
 1. human nature doesnt change (man will always worship his desires)
 2. strategy of the shaytan doesnt change
 3. the sunnah of Allah doesnt change

(This was Our) Sunnah (rule or way) with the Messengers We sent before you (O Muhammad ), and you will not find any alteration in Our Sunnah (rule or way, etc.). (17:77)
They took to flight because of their) arrogance in the land and their plotting of evil. (35:43)
