Notes: Who Are You? (A Balanced Nation)- Shaikh Faisal

Who Are You? (A Balanced Nation)
by Shaikh Abdullah Faisal
(evening dars 4.06.11)

--Allah called u the balanced nation--> Ummatan Wasatan
--We are in between all extremes
Thus We have appointed you a middle nation, that ye may be witnesses against mankind, and that the messenger may be a witness against you. And We appointed the qiblah which ye formerly observed only that We might know him who followeth the messenger... (2:143)

1) Who are YOU?
***You are in the middle between the Jews and Christians
--the Christians idolize Jesus, the Jews insult Jesus
--you do not worship Jesus, nor insult him, you accept him as a Prophet and Messenger, because you are between the 2 extremes

2) Who are YOU?
***You are in the middle between Khawarij and the Murji'ah
--The Khawarij reject repentance for the sinner and takes away all hope and the Murji gives the sinner complete hope
--The Khawarij are puritans and the Murji'ah are liberals
--The best verse to refute the Khawarij is 39:53
Say: "O 'Ibadi (My slaves) who have transgressed against themselves (by committing evil deeds and sins)! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah, verily Allah forgives all sins. Truly, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. 39:53
When the Prophet said, “Fighting your brother is kufr,” this is minor kufr
And if two parties or groups among the believers fall to fighting, then make peace between them both, but if one of them rebels against the other, then fight you (all) against the one that which rebels till it complies with the Command of Allah; then if it complies, then make reconciliation between them justly, and be equitable. Verily! Allah loves those who are equitable (49:9)

Examples of Major Kufr:
1. To work black magic
2. To sleep w/ your father’s wife
3. To insult Allah (swt), the Rasool (saws) or the Holy Qur'an
4. Those that make takfir on the Sahabah (not those who say Ali should be the caliph, they are deviants for going against the Ijmaa of the Sahabahs)
Verily, Allah forgives not that partners should be set up with him in worship, but He forgives except that (anything else) to whom He pleases, and whoever sets up partners with Allah in worship, he has indeed invented a tremendous sin. (4:8)

3) Who are YOU?
***You are in the middle between the Spiritualist and the Materialist
--Spiritualists spend all his time (for example) in the masjid
--Materialists spend all their time on the matters of the dunya

4) Who are YOU?
You are in the middle between the Jabriyyah and the Qadiriyyah
--Jabriyyah is a fatalist (they believe you can’t escape destiny)
--Qadiriyyah were the kaafirs of Mecca
Only 3 People are not responsible for their actions:
1. Children
2. Sleeping men
3. Madmen
Those who took partners (in worship) with Allah will say: "If Allah had willed, we would not have taken partners (in worship) with Him, nor would our fathers, and we would not have forbidden anything (against His Will)." Likewise belied those who were before them, (they argued falsely with Allah's Messengers), till they tasted of Our Wrath. Say: "Have you any knowledge (proof) that you can produce before us? Verily, you follow nothing but guess and you do nothing but lie." (6:148)
--The kuffar will always blame Allah swt for their haraam activities!
--A man tried to blame his theft on Allah to Umar and he said, it’s also Allah’s will for you to have your hand chop off– he ordered him to have his hand chopped off + 30 lashes because the man not only stole but lied about it (sins have brothers and sisters – no sin is alone)
--When Salman Rushdie wrote his book The Satanic Verses, the kuffar claimed that is was destiny and that Muslims should allow it. He was an unsuccessful writer, so in order to attract attention; he attacked Allah (swt), His Messenger (saws) and the wives of the Messenger (pbuh)

Angel Jibreel asked Muhammad (saws) 5 questions … he couldn’t answer # 4
1) What is Islam? shahadah, salat, sawm, zakat, hajj,
2) What is eeman? Believe in Allah, his angels, books, prophets, messengers, qadr
3) What is Ihsaan?
4) When is Judgment Day?
5) What are the signs before Judgment Day?

5) Who are YOU?
You are in the middle between the gigolo and the monk
Then, We sent after them, Our Messengers, and We sent 'Iesa (Jesus) - son of Maryam (Mary), and gave him the Injeel (Gospel). And We ordained in the hearts of those who followed him, compassion and mercy. But the Monasticism which they invented for themselves, We did not prescribe for them, but (they sought it) only to please Allah therewith, but that they did not observe it with the right observance. So We gave those among them who believed, their (due) reward, but many of them are Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). (57:27)
--The 4 great Imams said as soon as you have sexual urges, marriage becomes compulsory on you

6) Who are YOU?
You are harsh with the kuffar and gentle towards the believers
Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and those who are with him are severe against disbelievers, and merciful among themselves. You see them bowing and falling down prostrate (in prayer), seeking Bounty from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure. The mark of them (i.e. of their Faith) is on their faces (foreheads) from the traces of (their) prostration (during prayers). This is their description in the Taurat (Torah). But their description in the Injeel (Gospel) is like a (sown) seed which sends forth its shoot, then makes it strong. (48:29)

--some people are soft towards leaders (apostate regimes)
--be kind and gentle towards women
And every nation has its appointed term; when their term is reached, neither can they delay it nor can they advance it an hour (or a moment). (7:34)

--the house of Saud will fall because they let George Bush conquer Iraq (he said he was launching a “crusade” and a “crusade” means to make war again Muslims
And those who have no knowledge say: "Why does not Allah speak to us (face to face) or why does not a sign come to us?" So said the people before them words of similar import. Their hearts are alike, We have indeed made plain the signs for people who believe with certainty. (2:118)

--Prophet (saws) said topple the leader if you see clear kufr [Bukhari Vol 9 Page 146]
-- The Madkhalis are harsh against the Ummah of Muhammad and soft against the Kuffar. They are murji with the leaders, khawarij with the ummah, mu'tazila with the scholars, and jabriyyah with the tyrants.
--To believe in Allah (swt) is not enough to make you a Muslim; you must also reject the taghoot
There is no compulsion in religion. Verily, the Right Path has become distinct from the wrong path. Whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah, then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that will never break. And Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower. (2:256)
Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. And those with him are hard against the disbelievers and merciful among themselves. Thou (O Muhammad) seest them bowing and falling prostrate (in worship), seeking bounty from Allah and (His) acceptance. The mark of them is on their foreheads from the traces of prostration. Such is their likeness in the Torah and their likeness in the Gospel - like as sown corn that sendeth forth its shoot and strengtheneth it and riseth firm upon its stalk, delighting the sowers - that He may enrage the disbelievers with (the sight of) them. Allah hath promised, unto such of them as believe and do good works, forgiveness and immense reward. (48:29)

Who are YOU?
You are soft w/ the believers and harsh with the kuffar!
Verily, those who disbelieve (in the religion of Islam, the Qur'an and Prophet Muhammad) from among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) and Al-Mushrikun will abide in the Fire of Hell. They are the worst of creatures. (98:6)
Surah 98:6 = Shaikh Faisal got in trouble in Belmarsh for teaching this ayat
Who are YOU?
You worship Allah (swt) in a balanced way:
Worship Him (swt) w/ love, fear, and hope. If you only worship him for one reason:
-Love = Sufi
-Fear = Khwarrijj
-Hope for Jannah = Murji
Who are YOU?
You are not a person of shirk
- You can’t be a Barelvis
- The Sufis, Shia and Barelvis are all dismissed as Liars and Kaafirs in Qur'an-39:3
Surely, the religion (i.e. the worship and the obedience) is for Allah only. And those who take Auliya' (protectors and helpers) besides Him (say): "We worship them only that they may bring us near to Allah." Verily, Allah will judge between them concerning that wherein they differ. Truly, Allah guides not him who is a liar, and a disbeliever. (39:3)
--Your Shariah is your ibadah! You don’t understand shirk properly.
Eat not (O believers) of that (meat) on which Allah's Name has not been pronounced (at the time of the slaughtering of the animal), for sure it is Fisq (a sin and disobedience of Allah). And certainly, the Shayatin (devils) do inspire their friends (from mankind) to dispute with you, and if you obey them [by making Al-Maytatah (a dead animal) legal by eating it], then you would indeed be Mushrikun (polytheists) [because they (devils and their friends) made lawful to you to eat that which Allah has made unlawful to eat and you obeyed them by considering it lawful to eat, and by doing so you worshipped them, and to worship others besides Allah is polytheism]. (6:121)
--Ignorance can’t be used as an excuse on Judgment Day
They surely disbelieve who say: Lo! Allah is the Messiah, son of Mary. The Messiah (himself) said: O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord. Lo! whoso ascribeth partners unto Allah, for him Allah hath forbidden paradise. His abode is the Fire. For evil-doers there will be no helpers. (5:72)
They surely disbelieve who say: Lo! Allah is the third of three; when there is no God save the One God. If they desist not from so saying a painful doom will fall on those of them who disbelieve. (5:73)
And (remember) when thy Lord brought forth from the Children of Adam, from their reins, their seed, and made them testify of themselves, (saying): Am I not your Lord? They said: Yea, verily. We testify. (That was) lest ye should say at the Day of Resurrection: Lo! of this we were unaware. (7:172)
Who are you?
You will follow those who came before you.
