Notes: Who are YOU? (Refuting Jabriyyah and Qadriyyah)- Shaikh Faisal

Who are YOU? (Refuting Jabriyyah and Qadriyyah)
by Shaikh Abdullah Faisal
(4.08.11 evening dars)

Who Are YOU?
***You are a true believer worships Allah with a combination of love, fear and hope***

Who are YOU?
1) You are between the Jews and Christians
--The one insults Jesus/ the other worships Jesus

2) You are between the Shiite and the Khawarij
--The one idolizes Ali/ the other makes takfeer on him

3) You are between the priest and the gigolo
--One practices celibacy/ the other practices promiscuity
--We don’t go either extreme, we practice nikkah

Rasul (saw) said: He who abstains from my Sunnah is not of me and I marry women
Rasul (saw) said: Nikkah is half of your deen so once you are married, fear for the other half

Who are YOU?
4) You are between the spiritualist and the secularist
--One spends all of his time in the masjid making dhikr and reading books/ the other spends all of his time in the shop making money and misses even the salat of jummah
--Umar saw a man spending all of his time in the masjid, he asked him, who takes care of your family? The man said, my rich brother. Umar said he is a better man than you then kicked him out of the masjid

But seek, with that (wealth) which Allah has bestowed on you, the home of the Hereafter, and forget not your portion of legal enjoyment in this world, and do good as Allah has been good to you, and seek not mischief in the land. Verily, Allah likes not the Mufsidun (those who commit great crimes and sins, oppressors, tyrants, mischief-makers, corrupts) (28:77)
And of mankind are some who take (for worship) others besides Allah as rivals (to Allah). They love them as they love Allah. But those who believe love Allah more (than anything else). If only, those who do wrong could see, when they will see the torment that all power belongs to Allah and that Allah is Severe in punishment. 2:165
Jummah is compulsory only on men and if you miss 3 consecutive jummat, you’ve committed a grave sin

5) You are between the Qadiriyyah and the Jabriyyah
--One denies qadr says he cannot accept qadr by conjuring some gruesome crime and sayinhg how can Allah predestine that?
--the other blames every crime he commits on qadr
Qadr=Allah documentation of his perfect knowledge and everything will happen as Allah documented his knowledge.  And everything will happen as he documented because he has knowledge of the future
Qadr=Allah’s secret knowledge of the future

Ex. The first murder committed on earth was when Cain killed Abel, so for every person who kills afterwards, Cain will share in that crime.  Allah did not force Cain to commit that murder, but it it was qadr because Allah documented it and therefore He knew it would happen before it happened.  By Allah ‘tala documenting that something will happen, doesn’t mean He forced it to happen

--A Jabriyyah blames what he does of evil on qadr
--Qadiriyyah says Allah predestine nothing (he denies one of the 6 pillars of eeman)
Likewise belied those who were before them, (they argued falsely with Allah's Messengers), till they tasted of Our Wrath. Say: "Have you any knowledge (proof) that you can produce before us? Verily, you follow nothing but guess and you do nothing but lie." (6:148)

--ex. when Cain killed Abel, it was known to Allah ‘tala it would happen, but he was not forced to do it (Cain exercised his free-will)
--ex. When Abu Bakr took Shahadah, it was known to Allah ‘tala it would happen, but he was not forced to do it (Abu Bakr exercised his free-will)
--ex. When Abu Jahl refused to take Shahadah, it was known to Allah ‘tala it would happen, but he was not forced to do it (Abu Jahl exercised his free-will)

Whatsoever of good or evil you do, it is known and documented by Allah, but it is you exercising your free will in doing it.
***Qadr is not being forced to do anything***
***Qadr means Allah ‘tala has perfect knowledge.  He has documentation of everything***

--A Jabriyyah blames Qadr in that they were forced to do a crime
--ex. the pagans say we worship the idols of the kabbah because its qadr
Those who took partners (in worship) with Allah will say: "If Allah had willed, we would not have taken partners (in worship) with Him, nor would our fathers, and we would not have forbidden anything (against His Will)." Likewise belied those who were before them, (they argued falsely with Allah's Messengers), till they tasted of Our Wrath. Say: "Have you any knowledge (proof) that you can produce before us? Verily, you follow nothing but guess and you do nothing but lie." 6:148

Everything has a definition and it is important to know proper definition of things:
Islam = Surrender to Allah (swt) with Tawheed , to Submit to Allah with complete obedience and to renounce shirk and the people of shirk
Shura = Rule according to Qur’an and Sunnah, not Democracy
Marriage = Holy union between a man and woman.  You can’t have some other insanity and call it Marriage

The Barelvis, Mutazalites and others don’t want to accept that Allah ‘tala has two hands because they have shirk/ disease in the heart.  They say how can Allah have hands?  We say to them: Allah (swt) has hands but not like our hands.
Why can’t you be like the Sahabahs who listen/ accept how Allah describes himself?
***Allah ‘tala has no co-equal (Allah (swt) doesn’t resemble his creation)***
Say: He is Allah, the One! Allah, the eternally Besought of all! He begetteth not nor was begotten. And there is none comparable unto Him. (113:1-4)
***When Allah ‘tala describes himself in the Quran, we accept it***
Similarly, those who deny qadr, they have an issue because no one defined qadr for them

Who Are YOU?
6) You worship Allah ‘tala with a combination of love, fear, and hope
--if you worship Allah ‘tala because you love Allah, you’re a Sufi
--if you worship Allah ‘tala because you fear Allah, you’re a Khawarij
--if you worship Allah because you hope for Allah's mercy, you’re a Murji
--if you don’t worship with a combination of three, you’re a lopsided Muslim

Who are YOU?
7) You do not do shirk
--everyday 17x a day we say: We say “You alone we worship and you alone we seek for help” (Surah Fatiha)
Surely pure religion is for Allah only. And those who choose protecting friends beside Him (say): We worship them only that they may bring us near unto Allah. Lo! Allah will judge between them concerning that wherein they differ. Lo! Allah guideth not him who is a liar, an ingrate (39:3)
***Some Muslims are Muslim by culture, not conviction ***
--Barelvis worship the graves and don’t know what they are reciting when they recite the Quran.
--The Muslims who believe in the shirk of democracy are a kaafir.

Who are YOU?
8) You understand shirk properly:
--When you disobey Allah (swt) and obey another man, this is shirk
And (remember) when thy Lord brought forth from the Children of Adam, from their reins, their seed, and made them testify of themselves, (saying): Am I not your Lord? They said: Yea, verily. We testify. (That was) lest ye should say at the Day of Resurrection: Lo! of this we were unaware; (7:172)
***There is no excuse for the shirk of ibadah***
***On Judgment Day, we can't use ignorance as an excuse ***

--When you dismantle the Shariah of Allah, this is major kufr (Hislam)
Shall I tell thee of a worse (case) than theirs for retribution with Allah? Worse (is the case of him) whom Allah hath cursed, him on whom His wrath hath fallen ! Worse is he of whose sort Allah hath turned some to apes and swine, and who serveth idols. Such are in worse plight and further astray from the plain road. (5:60)
And marry not women whom your fathers married, except what has already passed; indeed it was shameful and most hateful, and an evil way. (4:22)
And eat not of that whereon Allah's name hath not been mentioned, for lo! it is abomination. Lo! the devils do inspire their minions to dispute with you. But if ye obey them, ye will be in truth idolaters. (6:121)

Who are YOU?
9) You have haya (you are shy)
--The Rasool (pbuh) was shy and said shyness is a part of eeman
--A kaafir is shameless (one of the signs of the last day is people will lose their sense of shame)

Who Are YOU?
10) You pay zakat
Successful indeed are the believers. Those who offer their Salat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness. And those who turn away from Al-Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk, falsehood, and all that Allah has forbidden). And those who pay the Zakat (23:1-4)
--One of the signs of the last days is the people will not pay zakat
Whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is on the earth glorifies Allah. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise (61:1)

Who Are YOU?
11) You protect you tongue and private parts
And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts) 23:5
--There are much more than 1,000 people who die from AIDS daily because they can’t control their private parts
The Rasool (saws) said that when two people are alone, the third is always the shaitan (Satan)

Who are YOU?
12) You fast in Ramadan
--we fast to learn to avoid zina and to become trustworthy
13) You are not treacherous
14) You safeguard your prayers and you pray with kushoo
And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours). (23:9)
