Seek Help in Patience and Prayer

Tafseer Surah Baqarah: (Seek Help in Patience and Prayer)
Shaikh Abdullah Faisal
(morning dars 5.05.11)

Surah Baqarah
45. And seek help in patience and As-Salat (the prayer) and truly it is extremely heavy and hard except for Al-Khashi'un [i.e. the true believers in Allah - those who obey Allah with full submission, fear much from His Punishment, and believe in His Promise (Paradise, etc.) and in His Warnings (Hell, etc.)]

--Your path will be made easy for you with Sabr
--Those who don’t have Sabr worship Allaah with a condition that I will remain a Muslim as long as my path is easy, but if Allaah should put disasters on my path, I will apostate
And among mankind is he who worships Allah as it were, upon the very edge (i.e. in doubt); if good befalls him, he is content therewith; but if a trial befalls him, he turns back on his face (i.e. reverts back to disbelief after embracing Islam). He loses both this world and the Hereafter. That is the evident loss. (22:11)
As for man, when his Lord tries him by giving him honour and gifts, then he says (puffed up): "My Lord has honoured me. But when He tries him, by straitening his means of life, he says: "My Lord has humiliated me!" (89:15-16)
--The reason why he said that is because your wealth is your honour; when you have wealth, the people in the society respect you
--so your wealth is your honour
--he says my Lord has taken away from me my Izzah (Honour)
Ahaanan = to strip someone of from his honour
--Allaah said life will not be a bed of roses
Verily, We have created man in toil. (90:4)
And certainly, We shall test you with something of fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.). Who, when afflicted with calamity, say: "Truly! To Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return." (2:155-156)
--People who you love best shall die: not every one can cope with death
When the Prophet S.A.W passed away, not even Umar could cope with it
--He didn’t want to admit the Prophet S.A.W was dead
--Its very embarrassing for you to sell your brother for a miserable price
--So Allaah said he will test you with the loss of property and people (anfus)
--The death is more painful when the person who dies is a young person
If a man who is 80 dies, that death isn’t painful because his old and he lived his life already; --but the death is painful when the person is young because he had his whole life in front of
him
Thamaraat = Fruits
So when people loose their loved ones, some people take drugs and alcohol to cope
--you cannot make takfir on someone just because they may drink alcohol
--to commit adultery is minor kufr, not major
If they love ALLAH and his Rasool (SAW), u cannot make takfir on them
Hadith on flogging: According to a narration in Sahih al-Bukhari -
During the lifetime of the Prophet (SAWS), there was a person named Abdullah, whose nickname was "donkey" - who was lashed by the Prophet (SAWS) for drinking alcohol. One day he was brought to the Prophet (SAWS) again for the same charge and thereafter was again lashed by the lashed. ..........
and
After going through two previous confusing stages before coming down hard on drinkers and gamblers, the Quran finally prohibits alcohol and gambling in Sura 5:90-91; they do not prescribe the punishment of flogging, but the Hadith does. This poor "criminal" was brought to Muhammad who became angry: The Prophet felt it hard (was angry) and ordered all those who were present in the house, to beat him [the drinker dragged into Muhammad’s presence]. (Bukhari, Punishments, nos. 6774-6775)
Khawarij (puritans) make takfir on a person who may drink alcohol or have a girlfriend;
--this is not major kufr; this is minor kufr
--to dabble in black magic makes you a kaafir, this is a major sin
--the Khawarij thinks that every major sin is major kufr
--a Muslim who drinks is still within the fold of Islam
--he is considered a fasiq (a sinful Muslim)
There’s a difference between a Muslim and a Mu'min
When the person about to commit adultery, the prophet S.A.W said He is not a Mu'min
HADITH - Abu Hurairah (mabpwh) related that the prophet (pbuh) said: “when a thief steals he is not a believer at the time he commits the theft; an adulterer is not a believer when he commits the illegal sexual intercourse; a person who drinks alcohol is not a believer at the time of drinking it:
Every Mu’min is a Muslim, but not every Muslim is a Mu’min
Verily, Allah forgives not that partners should be set up with him in worship, but He forgives except that (anything else) to whom He pleases, and whoever sets up partners with Allah in worship, he has indeed invented a tremendous sin. 4:48
This Ayah is telling you that Allaah doesn’t forgive Shirk
--the man who comes on judgment day as a drinker or adulterer still has a chance
--but if he comes as a Mushrik, he doesn’t have any chance
VOCABULARY:
Jabriyya = fatalist
wahdatul wujood = union
Ahaanan = to strip someone of from his honour
Thamaraat = Fruits
AQEEDAH
You have to study Aqeedah by itself
--if you don’t study Aqeedah, you will end up as a Murji, Khawarijj, Mu'tazila, etc
Not only do you have to study the Aqeedah of the Sahabahs
--but also that of the stray groups because you need to refute their beliefs
--so Allaah told you that he will test you with the lost of property and loved ones
--all these things are Qadr Of Allaah
There’s is nothing in Qur’an and Sunnah tells you to be pleased with Qadr
However you were commanded by Allaah to be patient with it
When Moosa was with Khidr he said I want to be your student; Khidr said you will never be able to have patience with me
How can you be patient with something you don’t understand?
In life when you loose loved ones, you are not commanded by Allaah to be pleased with that calamity but you have to be patient with it, because you do not know, but Allaah knows everything
And certainly, We shall test you with something of fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.). 2:155
Who, when afflicted with calamity, say: "Truly! To Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return." 2:156
If you are not patient you are going to insult Allaah
=Allaah has commanded you in Baqarah :45
And seek help in patience and As-Salat (the prayer) and truly it is extremely heavy and hard except for Al-Khashi'un [i.e. the true believers in Allah - those who obey Allah with full submission, fear much from His Punishment, and believe in His Promise (Paradise, etc.) and in His Warnings (Hell, etc.)]. 2:45
And you are not allowed to insult Allaah, the Prophet S.A.W or any Sahaabi
You become a Kaafir if you make Takfeer on any of the Sahabah
Ali Ibn Abi Talib said that he once slept with the prophet Muhammad p.b.u.h and his wife Ayesha in one bed, and under one cover, then the prophet woke up to pray, and left them together [ Ali and Ayesha ] in the same bed, under the same cover" [Bihaar al-Anwar vol. 40, p. 2]
SHIITE BELIEFS
The Shia make Takfeer of the Sahabah
The Shias insult the Prophet S.A.W also, they say he was a Dayooth (had no jealousy)
They even slander Allaah
"Bid’ah" ALLAH tells a lie. (Asool Kaafi, Vol. No.1, Page No. 148)
“Allah often lies and does mistakes” [Usool-al-Kafi, page 328, Yacoob Kulayni, Vol. 1]
Not even Allaah is spared from the tongues of the Shias
Their tongues are venomous
They pay attention to history, and give preference to it over Aqeedah
Like the Deobandi pay attention to Fiqh and they will never teach the people Aqeedah
Al Muraabitoon (A Sufi group) pay attention to economics and don’t pay attention to Aqeedah
Those (i.e. believers) unto whom the people (hypocrites) said, "Verily, the people (pagans) have gathered against you (a great army), therefore, fear them." But it (only) increased them in Faith, and they said: "Allah (Alone) is Sufficient for us, and He is the Best Disposer of affairs (for us)." 3:173
And the Hizbut Tahrir pay more attention to politics instead of Aqeedah
Because the Shias don’t pay attention to Aqeedah, they say that Allaah lies and makes mistakes; when you insult the Sahabah you are actually insulting Allaah
The Deobandi because they don’t pay attention to Aqeedah; they don’t know where Allaah is
The Most Beneficent (Allah) Istawa (rose over) the (Mighty) Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty). 20:5
And the Goofi Soofis because they don’t pay attention to Aqeedah, they believe that Allaah's Arsh is not a concrete noun, but an abstract noun. Allaah's Arsh is a concrete noun, but the Soofi's say it’s not because Allah’s Arsh means glory
And the angels will be on its sides, and eight angels will, that Day, bear the Throne of your Lord above them. 69:17
If Allaah said 8 strong angels will carry his throne, how can you say it’s an abstract noun?
Why will the angels carry it if it’s an abstract noun?
Raoolullaah S.A.W said : "The Qur’an is a Hujjah for you or against you"
Do you feel secure that He, Who is over the heaven (Allah), will not cause the earth to sink with you, then behold it shakes (as in an earthquake)? 67:16
Allaah declares in this Ayah that he is above the heavens
--when you memorize this Qur’an and read these AyĆ¢t you are rejecting them
--because you don’t believe that Allaah is above the heavens
--so why do you memorize the Qur’an then?
A revelation from Him (Allah) Who has created the earth and high heavens. 20:5
They say to you that b4 Allaah created his Arsh , then where was Allaah?
The Most Beneficent (Allah) Istawa (rose over) the (Mighty) Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty). 20:5
They will say that you can’t believe that Allaah is on the Arsh, don’t take the Qur’an literal
--no body takes the Qur’an more literal than the Goofi Soofis and the shady Shia
--they take the Ayah 2:115 literally
And to Allah belong the east and the west, so wherever you turn yourselves or your faces there is the Face of Allah (and He is High above, over His Throne). Surely! Allah is All-Sufficient for His creatures' needs, All-Knowing. 2:115
=They say this is our evidence that Allaah is everywhere
=They take the Ayah literally when it suits them
=They are hypocrites and keep changing
=ALLAH meant HIS knowledge is everywhere
=The Ayah means that Allaah is saying that My knowledge is everywhere
=There’s another Ayah that the Goofi Soofis and shady Shias take literally
And indeed We have created man, and We know what his ownself whispers to him. And We are nearer to him than his jugular vein (by Our Knowledge). 50:16
They say that this Ayah means that Allaah is everywhere
--and He dwells within the bodies of people
--they use this Ayah to support their claim of Wahdatul Wujood
--the unification between Allaah and men
Ibn Arabee
--was the person who introduced this Aqeedah
--they say when that person becomes Allaah then he doesn’t have to pray anymore
--if Ibn Arabee was such a dangerous Kaafir, why do you say
--“Rahimahullaah" when you talk of him???
--don’t you know that Raoolullaah (S.A.W) said
--"Any one who gives respects to a person of Bid'ah you are helping to destroy Islaam"
--because you don’t study Aqeedah, a Shaytaan like Ibn Arabee you respect him
--but you don’t respect Ibn Taymiyyah
Rasoolullaah S.A.W
"Whoever Allaah wants good for, he gives him the understanding of the Deen"
--If Allaah loves you, your creed would be correct
--for you to have the Aqeedah that the prophet S.A.W is alive in the grave and
--knows what’s happening in the Ummah, and is haadir naadir
“Whenever Allah wants good for a person He grants him or her deep understanding of the religion.”1 Bukhari
The Prophet MHMD said, "I will be at my Lake-Fount (Kauthar) waiting for whoever will come to me. Then some people will be taken away from me where upon I will say, 'My followers!' It will be said, 'You do not know they turned Apostates as renegades (deserted their religion)." al-Bukhari 9.99.172
--If the Prophet S.A.W is alive in the grave, why is it that the angels will say to him
--you don’t know what your people have innovated after you??
--it is Haraam to go to the chat rooms of people who mock the Qur’an and Sunnah
--you don’t have the knowledge to refute them
And it has already been revealed to you in the Book (this Quran) that when you hear the Verses of Allah being denied and mocked at, then sit not with them, until they engage in a talk other than that; (but if you stayed with them) certainly in that case you would be like them. Surely, Allah will collect the hypocrites and disbelievers all together in Hell 4:140
Nisa :140
--You don’t know enough about your deen or to go to these chat rooms, you’ll become: confused.com
--Sabr is a bitter cup that only the strong can drink from
--The thing you were commanded to do is difficult but you have Sabr
--Whenever you give up something for the sake of Allaah, Allaah will replace it for you with something better
--LINK TO HADITH RE: 3 MEN TRAPPED IN A CAVE: http://salaattime.wordpress.com/2009/03/13/hadith-three-men-in-a-cave/
--Sabr means the thing difficult but you do it because Allaah has commanded it
--Sabr also means that you want to do a thing, but because its haraam, you abstain
