-79- The Golden Bowl

Tafseer Surah Yusuf: The Golden Bowl
by Shaikh Abdullah Faisal

(evening dars: 6.14.11)

And the king said: "Bring him to me that I may attach him to my person" Then, when he spoke to him, he said: "Verily, this day, you are with us high in rank and fully trusted." (12:54)

The King and Yusuf:

--the king did not want to do anything w/o seeking Yusuf's advice
--he saw him as being fully trusted

The man who cheats on his wife:
--he cheats because he has no taqwah
--or the taqwah is weak
--and this man will cheat in other aspects of his life
--we can't go into business w/ him and make him our partner

Yusuf was fully trusted
--he was tested and passed the test w/ flying colors
--so Yusuf asked to be over the finances of Egypt

--you're permitted to nominate yourself for a post if you have the knowledge for it
--the best ingredient you can have on your CV is taqwah
--sometimes, you might not have the qualifications but your taqwah got you hired

--many of us have talent to take on jobs but we don't because we lack confidence / low self-esteem
--but Yusuf was in prison for 7+ years yet he still was sharp enough to want to do this job
--he "buzzed" w/ confidence and asked for the job that Zulaikha's husband had
--maybe you're living w/ people who 'put you down' - if so, you will never discover your confidence

Abu Hanifa:
--when he was 10 years old, he was asked which study circles he attended
--Hammad told him to attend a study circle because
--he saw "great potential' in Abu Hanifa
--many of you are treasures that have not yet been discovered
--one conversation turned the life of Abu Hanifa around [Hammad's encouragement]

On the authority of Abu Huraira who said that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him said), “Every small bone of everyone has upon it a charitable act for everyday upon which the sun rises. Bringing about justice between two is an act of charity. Helping a man get on his mount, lifting him onto it or helping him put his belongings onto it, is a charitable act. A good word is a charitable act. Every step you take toward the prayer is a charitable act. And removing a harmful thing from the path is a charitable (Recorded in al-Bukhari and Muslim)

One word you say to a brother or sister might turn their life around
--the Father of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jammah = Abu Hanifa (Shukran to Hammad)

Yusuf and the job:
--if you know you don't have the ability to do a job, you are being deceptive

Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Anyone who carries arms against us is not one of us. Anyone who cheats us is not one of us. [Muslim 1579)

The king gave Yusuf the job of Minister of Finance
--he took over the job of Zulaikha's husband (who had died)
--his had full authority [tamkeen] and didn't need the king's approval for his decisions

22:41 Allah used the word tamkeen

Those (Muslim rulers) who, if We give them power in the land, (they) order for Iqamat-as-Salat. [i.e. to perform the five compulsory congregational Salat (prayers) (the males in mosques)], to pay the Zakat and they enjoin Al-Ma'ruf (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam orders one to do), and forbid Al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief, polytheism and all that Islam has forbidden) [i.e. they make the Quran as the law of their country in all the spheres of life]. And with Allah rests the end of (all) matters (of creatures). Al-Hajj 22:41

A madman in the UK [Abu Isa] said he studied genealogy so he declared himself the caliph
--he required bayah from the Muslims
--he lived off the 'dole' [government assistance]
--his home was given to him by the Counsel
--he had no authority and those who gave allegiance to him, did not know 22:41

Conditions of Caliph:
1) you need a land
2) you can't live behind enemy lines
3) caliphs also need tamkeen in the land

So many Muslims in prison in Belmarsh that Shaikh saw are innocent
--the Brits destroy our lives because we live behind enemy lines

Those (Muslim rulers) who, if We give them power in the land, (they) enjoin Iqamat-as-Salat [i.e. to perform the five compulsory congregational Salat (prayers) (the males in mosques)], to pay the Zakat and they enjoin Al-Ma'ruf (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam orders one to do), and forbid Al-Munkar 22:41

--those who have it establish salah and zakah
--they command the good AND forbid the evil

Giving our bayah:
--those who give their bayah to donkeys are like donkeys to themselves
--these type of people make takfir on Shaikh Faisal [same as Abu Hamza]
--because they had solicitors speak on their behalf but this is NOT true
--they were TAKEN to court
--you're guilty of Tahhakum when you go to court on your own
--there are jammah's in the UK that do credit card fraud
--they figure they can do what they want in daar ul harb
--they say they can have s-x w/ different girls in the UK
--they make a lot of money and when they're caught for credit card fraud
--they appoint solicitors to defend them
--they appoint solicitors to defend them
--these can collect 300,000 pounds a year to spy on Muslims
--not every revert is sincere

People become fake Muslims because:
1) he met a pretty girl @ university so he takes fake Shahadah to marry Muslimah
2) he wants to benefit from the wealth of the ummah
3) he was planted by the mi5, CIA, Israeli Mossad

So not every revert is sincere
--Shaikh's experience w/ black reverts is they will keep money you ask them to hold for you
--they spend it
--he never lent $$ to a black revert that he was paid back
--not every revert is sincere
--he gave a person money to hold till Shaikh got back to Jamaica and the brother spent it

Shaikh does not mince his words and na'am,
--he is frank and does not apologize for it
--the judge nearly had a heart attack when he heard the DVDs –
--they call al walaa wal baraa "hate speech"
--but they steal our oil, rape Muslim women, burn al Qur'an, desecrate our masjids
--but Shaikh was given 8 years for his frankness
--go to an Arab shaykh because they are shy
--they will not teach you what or how Shaikh Faisal does

Ka'ab ibn al-Ashraf
--he wrote poetry saying that the girls in Madinah were in love w/ him
--Shaikh Faisal says Arab shaykhs would not tell you these things
--if you act independent of a scholar:
--you will give your bayah to a retard

Abu Muneer of Morocco
--friend of Shaikh Faisal
--he had a beautiful wife and the 'fake caliph' in UK wanted her as his concubine
--when a group believes in taking Muslim girls as a concubine, they are Khawarijj
--Abu Isa should only get his bayah from other donkeys!
Shaikh Faisal is not too harsh: the Hellfire is harsher
--he can not be soft with us or we will not wake up

Caliphs need tamkeen (power and authority)
--amaana is a big thing (to be trusted)
--to be trusted, you can open any doors

2 types of proposals: decent and indecent
--many Muslim women get indecent proposals
--they don't tell their fathers or brothers but don't tell so there is no bloodshed
--they take their secret to their graves
--a dayooth has no jealousy
--our brothers should have jealousy over us [we should too]
--one right a wife has is for you to feel jealous over her

Ibn Al-Qayyim, Rahimahullaah, said: "And the Dayyouth (the man with no jealousy over the women in his family) is the most vile of Allah's creation, and Jannah is forbidden for him, (because of his lack of Ghayrah - jealousy).

The kaafirs wanted to know why Muhammad (saws) became the prophet
--why did he chose someone rich
--they were trying to tell Allah tala whom to bless
--as when the Jews were told Saul was their king, they said 'he only has one mule'
--but ALLAH TALA chose him

Thus did We give full authority to Yûsuf (Joseph) in the land, to take possession therein, when or where he likes. We bestow of Our Mercy on whom We will, and We make not to be lost the reward of Al-Muhsinûn. (Surah Yusuf 12:56)

But Allâh chooses for His Mercy whom He wills. And Allâh is the Owner of Great Bounty (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:105)

Why do we have envy in our heart if we know Allah tala blesses whom He wants?
--see 2:105

Shaikh in Jamaica
--knew a Muslimah w/ one eye who found a devoted husband
--but a kaafir girl with 2 eyes could not find a husband
--because Allah tala gives His blessings to whom He wills

Yusuf's brothers:
--did not expect him to have tamkeen
--they dumped him in the bottom of a well
--they could not recognize him but Yusuf recognized them

The new Egypt is America and the new pharaoh is whoever is president of America at the time

And Yusuf's (Joseph) brethren came and they entered unto him, and he recognized them, but they recognized him not. 12:58

Allah tala gives honor to whom he pleases and He disgraces whom He pleases
--Nelson Mandela was in prison for 25 years and then was president of South Africa

Yusuf asked for the brothers to bring him Binyamin (but he didn't mention Binyamin's name)

And when he had furnished them forth with provisions (according to their need), he said: "Bring me a brother of yours from your father; (he meant Benjamin). See you not that I give full measure, and that I am the best of the hosts? (Surah Yusuf 12:59)

--when Yusuf interpreted the dream of the king,
--the king kept the interpretation to himself
--in those days, 'America' was Egypt and he turned it into a bread basket
--all the countries of the region had to go to Egypt for their food
--and he sold it at any price he wanted
--the king used the dream to his advantage
--so Yusuf's brothers had to come to Egypt for their food

Yusuf asked for their brother they left behind
--he meant Binyamin [his full brother from mother, Rachel] but he didn't tell him this specifics
--and said if you don't bring him to me, I won't serve you food ever again

"But if you bring him not to me, there shall be no measure (of corn) for you with me, nor shall you come near me." (Surah Yusuf 12:60)

They said: "We shall try to get permission (for him) from his father, and verily, we shall do it." (Surah Yusuf 12:61)

'What about the brother you left behind?'
--Yaqub had 12 sons .. 1 is left behind, 1 is Minister of Finance and the other 10 were there in Egypt for food
--Yusuf gave them a clue by asking this
--their situation was pathetic because they didn't recognize what he was saying to them

And [Yusuf (Joseph)] told his servants to put their money (with which they had bought the corn) into their bags, so that they might know it when they go back to their people, in order that they might come back. Surah Yusuf 12:62

--they spent [example 1000 USD] and Yusuf put their money back in their bag
--why did he do this?
--his parents were going to eat the food
--Yusuf and Binyamin were the favorites of Yaqub
--Rachel was pious and pretty
--brothers: marry a pious and beautiful Muslimah
--if your kids are ugly, they will be bullied @ school
--Rachel bore Yaqub 2 pious sons

The brothers told their father they can't buy anymore food
--unless they bring Binyamin w/ them to Egypt
--please send our brother w/ us
--scholars of tafseer said it was corn
--cabbage and cucumbers spoil easily so the king planted corn [which stores well]

A fool and his kingdom will perish
A fool and his money will soon part

So, when they returned to their father, they said: "O our father! No more measure of grain shall we get (unless we take our brother). So send our brother with us, and we shall get our measure and truly we will guard him." (Surah Yusuf 12:63)

He said: "Can I entrust him to you except as I entrusted his brother [Yûsuf (Joseph)] to you aforetime? But Allâh is the Best to guard, and He is the Most Merciful of those who show mercy." (Surah Yusuf 12:64)

Yaqub asked if he could trust the brothers as he did with Yusuf.
--why did he ask it?

The Prophet said: ‘A believer is not stung from the same hole twice.’(Sahîh Bukhârî, Sahîh Muslim)

--if you were bitten twice, something is wrong w/ you

And when they opened their bags, they found their money had been returned to them. They said: "O our father! What (more) can we desire? This, our money has been returned to us, so we shall get (more) food for our family, and we shall guard our brother and add one more measure of a camel's load. This quantity is easy (for the king to give)." Surah Yusuf 12:65

Yusuf returned the money because he was doing a kindness to his parents
--the sons of Yaqub said 'oh we can't desire any more, the money was returned to us'
--if you send 10 camels, we get 10 camels of food so please send Binyamin so we have an extra camel
--Yaqub required wallahi from his sons

He [Ya'qub (Jacob)] said: "I will not send him with you until you swear a solemn oath to me in Allah's Name, that you will bring him back to me unless you are yourselves surrounded (by enemies, etc.)," And when they had sworn their solemn oath, he said: "Allah is the Witness over what we have said." Surah Yusuf 2:66

Allah will not punish you for what is unintentional in your oaths, but He will punish you for your deliberate oaths; for its expiation (a deliberate oath) feed ten Masakin (poor persons), on a scale of the average of that with which you feed your own families; or clothe them; or manumit a slave. But whosoever cannot afford (that), then he should fast for three days. That is the expiation for the oaths when you have sworn. And protect your oaths (i.e. do not swear much). Thus Allah make clear to you His Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) that you may be grateful. Surah Maida 5:89

And he said: "O my sons! Do not enter by one gate, but enter by different gates, and I cannot avail you against Allah at all. Verily! The decision rests only with Allah. In him, I put my trust and let all those that trust, put their trust in Him." Surah Yusuf 12:67

Why did Yaqub tell his sons to enter thru a different gate?

--the sons were so handsome that he didn't want them to get 'evil eye'
--one day a Sahabah saw another have a shower and said he was as beautiful as a woman
--this is like an evil eye
--so Yaqub didn't want them to get an evil eye

The other reason was he didn't want people to realize they were from the same city

Shaikh in London:
--he invited 10 brothers to come to a dars for protection
--they got off at one station and realized they should have gotten off at different stations

So Yaqub said he same thing, enter from different gates

Lesson of ayah :67

And he said: "O my sons! Do not enter by one gate, but enter by different gates, and I cannot avail you against Allah at all. Verily! The decision rests only with Allah. In him, I put my trust and let all those that trust, put their trust in Him." Surah Yusuf 12:67

Yaqub wanted them to tie up their camel

And when they entered according to their father's advice, it did not avail them in the least against (the Will of) Allah, it was but a need of Ya'qub's (Jacob) inner-self which he discharged. And verily, he was endowed with knowledge because We had taught him, but most men know not. Surah Yusuf 12:68

--and they did as their father asked
--and they progressed in their eeman
--their taqwah was better
--they are more mature
--the older you become, insh'allah, the more you grow in taqwah
--if you find a mature Muslim for nikah, your 'bread is buttered on both sides'
--the older a kaafir becomes, the more difficult it is to take Shahadah
--they became addicted to their corrupted desires

And when they went in before Yusuf (Joseph), he betook his brother (Benjamin) to himself and said: "Verily! I am your brother, so grieve not for what they used to do." Surah Yusuf 12:69

Yusuf and Binyamin:

--he told him to forgive what his brothers did to him

So when he had furnished them forth with their provisions, he put the (golden) bowl into his brother's bag, then a crier cried: "O you (in) the caravan! Surely, you are thieves!" Surah Yusuf 12:70

--when you have 2 wives and 2 sets of kids, there's chance for sibling rivalry

In the Shariah of that time, they drank from gold but the Shariah of Muhammad (saws) we're prohibited They, turning towards them, said: "What is it that you have missed?" Surah Yusuf 12:71

They said: "We have missed the (golden) bowl of the king and for him who produces it is (the reward of) a camel load; I will be bound by it." Surah Yusuf 12:72

They said: "By Allah! Indeed you know that we came not to make mischief in the land, and we are no thieves!" Surah Yusuf 12:73

The brothers of Yaqub said we are from a noble lineage, we can not be thieves
--it's embarrassing to be called a thief

They [Yusuf's (Joseph) men] said: "What then shall be the penalty of him, if you are (proved to be) liars." Surah Yusuf 12:74

They [Yusuf's (Joseph) brothers] said: "The penalty should be that he, in whose bag it is found, should be held for the punishment (of the crime). Thus we punish the Zalimun (wrong-doers, etc.)!" Surah Yusuf 12:75

So he [Yusuf (Joseph)] began (the search) in their bags before the bag of his brother. Then he brought it out of his brother's bag. Thus did We plan for Yusuf (Joseph). He could not take his brother by the law of the king (as a slave), except that Allah willed it. (So Allah made the brothers to bind themselves with their way of "punishment, i.e. enslaving of a thief.") We raise to degrees whom We please, but over all those endowed with knowledge is the All-Knowing (Allah). 12:76

The Shariah of Abraham was different from the Shariah of Muhammad (saws)

Yusuf planted the cup in Binyamin's bag so he would be kept behind

--he was lonely and wanted to reminisce
--he could keep him w/ him in the palace of the king

No matter how much knowledge you have, there is always someone else with more knowledge!

The Saudi Salafis say if we give bayah to the king of Saudi
-- we don't do anything wrong
--but we checkmate them w/ this ayah
--because Yusuf said we follow the Shariah of Abraham
--the Saudi Salafis [MADkhalis] slander Yusuf
--if you marry them, you commit zina because they are outside the fold of Islam

--when Yusuf was in Egypt, he wasn't following any kaafir king,
--the king didn't interfere w/ Yusuf's decision to follow his Shariah (Abraham)
--Yusuf didn't implement any KAAFIR Shariah

They [(Yusuf's (Joseph) brothers] said: "If he steals, there was a brother of his [Yusuf (Joseph)] who did steal before (him)." But these things did Yusuf (Joseph) keep in himself, revealing not the secrets to them. He said (within himself): "You are in worst case, and Allah knows best the truth of what you assert!" (Surah Yusuf 12:77)

Yusuf's brothers said if Binyamin steals, he had a full brother who stole before [Yusuf]

http://theghurabah.blogspot.com/2011/06/devils-deception-of-saudi-salafis-by.html >>>Devil Deception of Saudi Salafi's of Shaikh Faisal

The man they were calling a thief was standing in front of them!

What did Yusuf steal? If anything......

The answer is ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

When Yusuf was growing up w/ his 11 brothers, he gave beggars food

--he was so soft hearted that he was in trouble w/ the brothers
--and they called his kindness 'stealing'

They said: "O ruler of the land! Verily, he has an old father (who will grieve for him); so take one of us in his place. Indeed we think that you are one of the Muhsinun. Surah Yusuf 12:78

When he lost Yusuf, Yaqub cried until he became blind

--if he loses another son, he might died of grieve
--look at Fatima, she died at age 29 from the grief over Muhammad (pbuh) death
--grieve is very painful so they offered one of themselves instead of Binyamin
--Rueben said 'take me instead'

He said: "Allah forbid, that we should take anyone but him with whom we found our property. Indeed (if we did so), we should be Zalimun (wrong-doers)." Surah Yusuf 12:79
