Tafseer Surah Baqarah: The Islam of Umar

In our last sitting, we stopped ay ayah 2:115
And to Allâh belong the east and the west, so wherever you turn (yourselves or your faces) there is the Face of Allâh (and He is High above, over His Throne). Surely! Allâh is All-Sufficient for His creatures' needs, All-Knowing. (Al-Baqarah 2:115)
This ayah is used by the Soofis to "prove" that Allah is everywhere
-- they claim this ayah as their evidence that Allah is everywhere
-- when you study tafseer : you will study "causes of revelation"
-- and the abrogating and the abrogated verses
-- also the general verses and specific verses.
-- when they look at this ayah, they ignore the cause of revelation:
-- either they are jahil ( they do not know) or they chose to ignore it
Ibn 'Umar reported that the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) used to say prayer on his camel while coming from Mecca to Medina, in whatever direction his face had turned; and its was (in this context) that this verse was revealed:" So whether you turn thither is Allah's face" (2.115). (Muslim, Book #004, Hadith #1499)
The reason for the revelation of this verse is
-- some Sahabahs were in the desert and they made Ijtihad
-- about their direction of prayer; they were concerned
-- if they had actually faced the qibla;
-- they asked the Rasool (salah Allahu alayhe wasalam)
-- and this Al Baqarah 2:115 was revealed
-- if you are on a bus, or a plane.. you pray sitting down:
-- which ever direction the means of transport is facing you can pray regardless.
The Rasool didn't get down from his horse to make sadjah in the mud
-- he prayed on the horse.
-- if you pray facing whatever direction you are facing
-- on means of transport: or when you do not know the Qibla direction
Narrated 'Abdullah bin amir that his father had told him that he had seen the Prophet (p.b.u.h) praying Nawafil at night on the back of his Mount on a journey, facing whatever direction it took. (Bukhari book 20, No 207)
The proper tafseer of this ayah
-- is Allah is everywhere in His Knowledge
-- to believe that Allah is everywhere: this creed is absolutely ridiculous
-- Allah is not in the toilet, brothel, pub..
-- no practicing Muslim would go to the toilet in a brother or a pub ( bar): why?
-- because it is beneath his dignity and prestige to go into a brothel or pub
-- when you believe Allah is everywhere you are insulting Allah
-- saying that Allah is in these filthy places
The Most Gracious (Allâh) rose over (Istawâ) the (Mighty) Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty). (Ta-Ha 20:5)
Ta-Ha (20-1-5) Ta - Ha [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'ân, and none but Allâh (Alone) knows their meanings.] (1) We have not sent down the Qur'ân unto you (O Muhammad SAW) to cause you distress, (2) But only as a Reminder to those who fear (Allâh). (3) A revelation from Him (Allâh) Who has created the earth and high heavens. (4) The Most Gracious (Allâh) rose over (Istawâ) the (Mighty) Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty). (5)
When Umar was going to kill Muhammad
-- a man saw him and said, “Why don’t you look after your own household first”
-- Umar went to his sisters house, beat his sister, and then became ashamed:
-- his sister told him to purify himself:
-- Umar then read from these verses of Surah Ta Ha
At-Tirmidhi narrated that Ibn ‘Umar narrated that: The Prophet (pbuh) said, ‘O Allah, strengthen Islam with whoever is more beloved to You of these two men: ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab or Abu Jahl ibn Hisham.’
Umar Khattab said, 'I went to the Prophet and said, "Aren't you truly the messenger of Allah?" The Prophet said, "Yes, indeed." I said, "Isn't our cause just and the cause of the enemy unjust?" He said, "Yes." I said, "Then why should we be humble in our religion?" He said, "I am Allah's messenger and I do not disobey Him, and He will make me victorious"' (Bukhari, Vol 3, Book 50, No. 891)
-- when you have eeman: it gives you confidence:
-- when you have eeman the kuffar are afraid of you
-- but when you do not have eeman or taqwa : they will never fear you
-- they will see you as a lowlife scum of the earth like them
-- you have to fear ALLAH and practise al walaa wal baraa
-- you are not allowed to believe that Allah is everywhere
-- there are people who claim that they follow abu Hanifah:
-- but they lie, all the four great imams believed that Allah was on His Arsh
-- rajul soo = a trouble-maker
A man asked Imam Malik (d. 179): "How did Allah make Istawa' on the throne?" Imam Malik inclined his head and was silent until the sweat of fever covered his brow, then he looked up and said: "Istawa' is not unknown (ghayru majhul), the modality of it is inconceivable in the mind (al-kayfu minhu ghayru ma`qul); but belief in it is obligatory, and inquiring about it is a heretical innovation. You are an innovator." And he gave orders for him to be taken out. Imam Malik was asked about it, he said, “On is known, How Allah is on the Arsh is unknown to believe in it is Wajib and to ask about it is a Bid'ah”
-- if you have a rotten tooth you pull it out !
-- we bounce people from the room every day (last night we bounced 2 people )
-- some people come into the room with dirty nick names, or they PM sisters..
-- some Shias or deviants come and spread their aqeedah here
-- Imam Malik kicked the man out of the study circle
-- Daud ath-thaahiree was a student of Ahmad ibn Hanbal:
-- he was kicked out of the study circle
-- why? : because he said the Quran was created
-- many shaikhs who had deviated recant from their aqeedah
-- Daud recanted and said : "I follow the aqeedah of Ahmad ibn Hanbal"
-- on his death bed
-- some people are given bad aqeedah when they take Shahadah
-- there are blacks in America who follow Louis Farrakhan
-- they believe Allah came in the form of a man
-- they took Shahadah in prison, but they then found real Islam
-- and they recant and make tawba
-- we use 42:51 to refute Farrakhan and his followers
It is not given to any human being that Allâh should speak to him unless (it be) by Revelation, or from behind a veil, or (that) He sends a Messenger to reveal what He wills by His Leave. Verily, He is Most High, Most Wise. Ash-Shura (42:51)

-- acting against her motherly instinct: she did so as she was inspired
Matthew 19:17 from the Bible
-- Allah clearly states in this ayah, that He communicates through
-- wahi (revelation)
-- the Christian claims that Jesus is god.
-- Lets look at Matthew 19:17

-- Matthew 24:36 : Jesus said he didn’t know when Judgment Day was. how could he then be god
SHAIKH IN KENYA
-- when shaikh toured Kenya, they arrested him;
-- they knew that many would embrace Islam.
-- the bible says that pork is haraam: yet they are always eating it
-- the Muslims do not eat pork: because the Quran says pork is haraam
-- but the kuffar do the exact opposite because they are hypocrites
-- they will forever contradict their book: they are liars and hypocrites
-- why did the priest use money given to the church to date women:
-- because he knows his religion is a big joke

-- if he has a God, how can he be God?
-- there is only one God, and Jesus said I am ascending to my God
-- the presenter asked the priest this question, when shaikh debated
