This is a new topic
-even though Shaikh Faisal has been to 30 countries preaching Islam.

The Slander of Aisha (Radhiyallahu-Anha)
by Shaikh Abdullah Faisal
begins now, LIVE, in earnest

Allah tala has the ability to make a bad situation become good
-example if Yusuf who was dumped in a well and those from Syria found him there
-eventually he saved Egypt from starvation

Salman Rushdie authored THE SATANIC VERSES
-but many people came to know Islam from that book
-the media attention drew 1000’s to embrace Islam

The Slander of Hazrat Aisha (Radhiyallahu-Anha)
-some background info:
-this situation took place 6 years after the Rasool (saws) made hijrah
-the hadeeth re: Aisha's age being 9 years old is an error; she was 19 years old
-so, she was not married when she was 9 but 19 years old
-the Sahabahs who were older and senile were taken w/ grain of salt
-and the one who transcribed made an error by writing 9 instead of 19
-so Muhammad (saws) was never a pedophile
-she was at the Battle of Uhud and no one was taken to battle under the age of 15
-so she could not have been married at age 9 as
-there is a minimum age requirement to go to battle: 15 years old
-side note: some say Abu Bakr tried to marry Aisha off ... to go to Abbasiniyah [Ethiopia of modern day] at age 9: -this is not true and it doesn’t even make sense

The Slander of Aisha (ra)
-Aisha said that whenever the Rasool went on journeys,
-he cast lots for which wife would accompany him

LESSON 1: THE RASOOL (saws) DIDN'T SHOW FAVORITISM
-The Rasool cast lots to choose a wife to accompany him on his journey
-so he didn't do favoritism
-he took Aisha (ra) to the Battle of Banu Mustaliq

LESSON 2: A WOMAN IS ALLOWED TO GO TO BATTLEFIELD IF SHE HAS PERMISSION OF AMEER
-the Rasool was Aisha's ameer (Commander-in-Chief)

LESSON 3: AN ARRANGED MARRIAGE CAN BE VERY SUCCESSFUL IF THE WOMAN IS NOT FORCED
-her marriage was very happy
-the Pakistani community gives arranged marriages a bad name
-they force their daughters to marry men they do not love
-Aisha's marriage was not forced

It is related that 'A'isha said, "When the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, wanted to go out, he would draw lots between his wives, and the Prophet* would take with him whoever had her lot come out. He drew lots between us on an expedition on which he went and my lot came out and I went out with the Prophet* after the veil had been revealed." Bukhari 61, 2723

O you who believe! You are forbidden to inherit women against their will... [An-Nisa 4:19]

The Battle of Banu Mustaliq. they defeated the kuffaar

-then they encamped on the outskirts of Madinah
-and he didn’t' travel back home at night
-1st reason: women are supposed to beautify themselves for their husband
-so it's not appreciated if he comes home at night, unexpectedly
-2nd reason: Muhammad (saws) didn’t want to scare the people by coming home @ night

Aisha had her hawdaj,
-a small tent placed on top of the camel so no one can see the woman inside
-she was wearing niqaab and hijab
-she states that she went to answer the call of [nature]
-and her hawdaj was put on the back of the camel
-but the camel left w/o her and the
-the men thought she left on her camel

LESSON 4: IT IS NOT THE SUNNAH TO RETURN TO YOUR WIVES @ NIGHT
-Aisha wasn't inside the hawdaj and she was delayed going back
-because she lost her necklace [a zafar of beads]
-while she was looking for it, those she was with left
-Aisha made excuses for her Muslim brothers by saying
-they mistakenly put the hawdaj on the back of the camel

LESSON 5: THE SUNNAH IS TO MAKE 70 EXCUSES FOR OUR UMMAH

Umar radiya Allahu anhu said, “If your brother makes a mistake, try to find him 70 excuses. If you run out of 70 excuses, then say maybe he has an excuse.”

"If a friend among your friends errs, make seventy excuses for them. If your hearts are unable to do this, then know that the shortcoming is in your own selves [ibid]"

-women were not fat then so they could not see her if she was in the hawdaj
-a big belly is a sign of a munafiqh

A believer eats in one intestine (is satisfied with little food) and a kaafir (unbeliever) or a hypocrite eats with seven intestines" (Bukhari)

-the nifaq of having a big belly is MINOR not major
-so don’t' go around making takfir on big people
-Aisha waited for the men to come back for her
-the men didn't look to see if she was in the tent
-because they minimized their interaction w/ nonmahram women

LESSON 6: MINIMIZE YOUR INTERACTIONS W/ WOMEN WHO ARE NOT MAHRAM FOR YOU

Aisha waited and slept so it means:

LESSON 7: WE’RE TO BE COOL, CALM AND COLLECTED

Aisha (ra) didn’t blame the brothers for not noticing she wasn’t in her hawdaj

LESSON 8: DON’T BE SO QUICK TO BLAME OTHERS

Safwan bin al-Muattal
-he lagged behind on the battlefield so
-when he came upon her camel, he recognized her
-he'd seen her before the niqaab and hijab were prescribed
-when Safwan noticed her he excited the words:
-Inna lillahi wa inna llaihi raji'un:
-"Truly to Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return"

It was the duty of Safwan b. Mu‘attal (Allah be pleased with him) to remain behind the army and pick up the luggage dropped from it. When he saw me sleeping, he called out in distress ‘inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji‘un’. I awoke with his exclamation and I veiled my face with my mantle. He did not say anything and brought his she-camel to me and sat it down. I mounted it and he began walking in front, holding onto the bridle of the she-camel, until we caught up to the army from the rear. Sahih Muslim and Sahih al-Bukhari

-he knew she was lost and when they were coming back, he did not interact w/ her
-not a single word
-he walked in front of the camel and she was on the camel
-he was SO modest ...
-he could have waited w/ her for the Rasool (saws) came back for her
-or he could have left her there but it was unwise to leave her in danger

LESSON 9: DO NOT ABANDON YOUR MUSLIM UMMAH WHEN THEY ARE IN DANGER OR NEED
-he was a man of God (and of taqwah) so the wisest was
-for him to bring her and walk in front of the camel

THE WHISPERS ..
-there was gossiping [what were Aisha and Safwan doing left behind]?
-Abdullah bin Ubai started the slander

the Leader of the Hypocrites, ‘Abd Allah b. Ubayy slandered us, and upon reaching Madinah, he flared up this propaganda. Sahih Muslim and Sahih al-Bukhari

-he started the rumor as he was jealous of Muhammad (saws)
-when Muhammad migrated to Madinah, he lost his throne (Abdullah did)
-so Abdullah had a permanent vendetta (grudge)
-he pursued hypocrisy
-Abdullah was now: the king who lost his throne / arsh
-Muhammad's influence over-shadowed his

AISHA and SAFWAN
-Abdullah took the opportunity to slander her w/ both hands
-he knew slandering her would be a disgrace for the Prophet (saws)

the Leader of the Hypocrites, ‘Abd Allah b. Ubayy slandered us, and upon reaching Madinah, he flared up this propaganda. Sahih Muslim and Sahih al-Bukhari

Abdullah bin Ubai: another kaafir who was an opportunist

-as in September 11th: the Brits and Americans used it to make anti-'terrorism' laws
-so now in US, Bush could tap the phones of everyone in America
-look at 1000's in Belmarsh Prison (UK) who are there w/o any charge

~~ EVERY KAAFIR IS A HYPOCRITE and EVERY HYPOCRITE IS A KAAFIR ~~

Yvonne Ridley:
the kuffaar are using the terrorism laws to ....
-"the terrorization of the Muslim communities" ~ Yvonne Ridley
-this is akin to the SPANISH INQUISITION

AISHA came back to Madinah on the camel
-and the Chinese whispers started
-she was accused of having s-x (intimate relations outside of marriage) w/ Safwan

LESSON 10: SOME PEOPLE WILL SLANDER YOU TO GET BACK AT YOUR FAMILY

MUHAMMAD (saws) heard the rumor
but he didn't mention it to Aisha

Narrated Umm Ruman: Who was 'Aisha's mother: While I was with 'Aisha, 'Aisha got fever, whereupon the Prophet said, "Probably her fever is caused by the story related by the people (about her)." I said, "Yes." Then 'Aisha sat up and said, My example and your example is similar to that of Jacob and his sons:--'Nay, but your minds have made up a tale. So (for me) patience is most fitting. It is Allah (alone) Whose help can be sought against that which you assert.' (12.18) (Bukhari Book #60, Hadith #213)

-she noticed that his behavior towards her had changed; he was now [cold] towards her
-she had no clue why he was behaving as he was

LESSON 11: WHEN SOMEONE IS DOWN, THAT IS NOT THE TIME TO DISCUSS IMPORTANT MATTERS

LESSON 12: IT'S WISE TO HAVE SABR: PART OF WISDOM IS TO HAVE SABR

-Muhammad's character was sublime, as he had such patience

AISHA AND UMM MISTAH
-Mistah = cousin of Abu Bakr
-when she fell, she said “”May Allah curse Mistah”” (he was one spreading the rumors)
-Aisha was naive to the clue of the rumors about her; she was the last to know!
-Aisha asked 'why do you say for Allah tala to curse Mistah?'
-she defended him because she didn't knew he was behind the slander

THE ACCUSORS OF AISHA:
Hasan ibn Thaabit, Mistah, Hamna bint Jaysh

LESSON 13: A REAL MUSLIM CAN FALL INTO A BIG SIN
-Mistah fought @ the Battle of Badr (all who did are forgiven of their sins)
-then UMM MISTAH told Aisha what Mistah was saying about her
-[the supposed affair w/ Safwan]
-Aisha (ra) fainted and she asked for permission to go and stay w/ her mother

LESSON 14: VERBAL ABUSE CAN BE DEADLIER THAN PHYSICAL ABUSE
-ie 2 men: 1 man punches his wife and the other man calls his wife names
-the one who calls names might hurt her worse

Narrated Yunus bin Yazid: I heard Az-Zuhri saying, "I heard 'Urwa bin Az-Zubair. Said bin Al-Musaiyab, 'Alqama bin Waqqas and 'Ubaidullah bin 'Abdullah each narrating part of the narrative concerning 'Aisha the wife of the Prophet. 'Aisha said: When I and Um Mistah were returning, Um Mistah stumbled by treading on the end of her robe, and on that she said, 'May Mistah be ruined.' I said, 'You have said a bad thing, you curse a man who took part in the battle of Badr!." Az-Zuhri then narrated the narration of the Lie (forged against 'Aisha). (Bukhari, Book #59, Hadith #359)

LESSON 15: THE GREAT STATUS OF THE PEOPLE WHO FOUGHT @ THE BATTLE OF BADR

-their sins will be forgiven
-“all my Companions who fought w/ me there will be in Paradise,” -Muhammad (saws)
-there were 313 Sahabahs there

LESSON 16: THE TAQWAH OF THE FEMALE SAHABAHS
-Umm Mistah cursed Mistah her son: she took sides w/ Aisha ....
-instinctively, she knew Aisha did not have an affair
-the trust of the Muslim community in Aisha (ra) was enormous
-beware of the curse of your parents

LESSON 17: WHEN ALLAH TALA PUTS A CURSE ON YOU, IT COMES TO PASS

LESSON 18: PAIN AND SORROW CAN CAUSE YOUR BODY TO BECOME NUMB

-she could do nothing when she tried to make [nature]

LESSON 19: IN THE TIME OF CRISIS, YOUR FAMILY IS NEEDED
-alhumdulillah!
-she went to stay w/ her mother Umm Rumaan ...
-those of you who are reverts: don't worry .. the ummah is now your family !

AISHA WANTED TO VERIFY THE RUMOR
-she was upset her mum didn't tell her of the rumor
-but her mum said when a girl accomplishes great honor
-it causes people to be jealous
-when she is so beloved, it causes jealousy

LESSON 20: WHEN A YOUNG GIRL FACES A CRISES, SHE NEEDS AN OLDER WOMEN TO GIVE HER COMFORT and COUNSEL

-Aisha went to her mother for comfort
-we all need someone older and wiser

LESSON 21: YOU NEED A GOOD RELATIONSHIP W/ YOUR MOTHER

When the rumor broke out:
-Muhammad (saws) approached 2 men (an Arab and a black man)
-the Arab was Ali and the black man was Usaama ibn Zayd
-Usaama ibn Zayd and Ali were approached by Muhammad to ask for their advice
-he said, "what should I do w/ Aisha?"

THE ADVICE GIVEN TO THE RASOOL (saws)
-Ali said, “There's plenty of women in the world so you can do better”
-indirectly, he was saying to divorce her
-Usaama ibn Zayd said:
-"wallahi, I don't know anything bad about her so keep your family"

Usama said, "Keep your wife, as we know nothing about her except good." (Sahih Bukhari Book 48)

LESSON 22: EVEN MUHAMMAD DIDN'T KNOW THE EVERYTHING / THE GHARIB (UNSEEN)

Ali bin Abi Talib said, "O Allah's Apostle! Allah does not impose restrictions on you; and there are plenty of women other than her. If you however, ask (her) slave girl, she will tell you the truth." Bukhari Vol 6, Book 60, No 274

-many scholars believe Aisha (r.a.) never forgave Ali for his advice
-Aisha (r.a.) marched in the BATTLE OF THE CAMEL

Aisha’s servant girl, Barira:
-she defended Aisha (ra)

Buraira said, "I cannot accuse her of any defect except that she is still a young girl who sleeps, neglecting her family's dough which the domestic goats come to eat (i.e. she was too simpleminded to deceive her husband)." (Bukhari Book 48, No. 805)

Volume 9, Book 92, Number 462: Narrated 'Aisha: After the slanderers had given a forged statement against her, Allah's Apostle called 'Ali bin Abi Talib and Usama bin Zaid when the Divine Inspiration was delayed. He wanted to ask them and consult them about the question of divorcing me. Usama gave his evidence that was based on what he knew about my innocence, but 'Ali said, "Allah has not put restrictions on you and there are many women other than her. Furthermore you may ask the slave girl who will tell you the truth." So the Prophet asked Barira (my salve girl), "Have you seen anything that may arouse your suspicion?" She replied, "I have not seen anything more than that she is a little girl who sleeps, leaving the dough of her family (unguarded) that the domestic goats come and eat it." Then the Prophet stood on the pulpit and said, "O Muslims! Who will help me against the man who has harmed me by slandering my wife? By Allah, I know nothing about my family except good." The narrator added: Then the Prophet mentioned the innocence of 'Aisha. (See Hadith No. 274, Vol. 6)

Vol 6, Book 60, No 274: Narrated Aisha: That night I kept on weeping the whole night till the morning. My tears never stopped, nor did I sleep, and morning broke while I was still weeping, Allah's Apostle called 'Ali bin Abi Talib and Usama bin Zaid when the Divine Inspiration delayed, in order to consult them as to the idea of divorcing his wife. Usama bin Zaid told Allah's Apostle of what he knew about the innocence of his wife and of his affection he kept for her. He said, "O Allah's Apostle! She is your wife, and we do not know anything about her except good." But 'Ali bin Abi Talib said, "O Allah's Apostle! Allah does not impose restrictions on you; and there are plenty of women other than her. If you however, ask (her) slave girl, she will tell you the truth." 'Aisha added: So Allah's Apostle called for Barira and said, "O Barira! Did you ever see anything which might have aroused your suspicion? (as regards Aisha). Barira said, "By Allah Who has sent you with the truth, I have never seen anything regarding Aisha which I would blame her for except that she is a girl of immature age who sometimes sleeps and leaves the dough of her family unprotected so that the domestic goats come and eat it."

So when Ali became the caliph

-Aisha (ra) marched against him at the BATTLE OF CAMEL to unseat him
-she wanted to install the 1st cousin of the Prophet (sallallahu-alayhi-wasallam)
-when I was slandered by the hypocrites of Madinah, you were not there for me!
-Scholars say: consult your loved ones for advice

LESSON 23: WHEN YOU'RE A LEADER OF A UMMAH AND YOU FACE CRISES, CONSULT YOUR LOVED ONES FOR ADVICE

The Prophet (sallallahu-alayhi-wasallam) gave a khutba
h but
-it wasn’t on a Friday .. this is known as a Khutbah Haaja [out of necessity]
-he delivered the sermon (he did this on many occasions, an emergency khutbah,
-ie when the woman stole and her hand was to be cut off
-the Sahabahs asked for leniency on hand-cutting
-but he said if his own daughter [{Fatima] stole, her hand should be cut off, too

In the sermon, he asked who would excuse me from a person who has hurt me even re: my wives

LESSON 24: WHEN YOU HURT A MAN'S WIFE, YOU HURT THE HUSBAND, as well
-in his sermon he said the slander was against HIM not just his wife, but himself
-he said, “Wallahi I only know good about my wife and Safwan”

Allah's Apostle said, 'Who will support me to punish that person ('Abdullah bin Ubai bin Salul) who has hurt me by slandering the reputation of my family? By Allah, I know nothing about my family but good, and they have accused a person about whom I know nothing except good, and he never entered my house except in my company.' Sahih Bukhari, Vol 3, Book 48, No 829

Allah's Messenger (pbuh) said: By Allah, if Fatima, daughter of Muhammad, were to steal, I would have her hand cut off... (Sahih Muslim book 17, No. 4187)

-a Sahabah stood up during the sermon [it was Usaid ibn Hudaiy,
-from the tribe of al Aws] and he said
-if the man is from my tribe, I will chop off his head myself !!!!
-but if he is from my brother's tribe, [Khazraj ],
-then command me and I will do as you command
-tempers rose and people were yelling KILL HIM KILL HIM [re: Abdullah bin Ubai]

Saad ibn Abi Ubaida
-Saad ibn Abi Ubaida [from the Khazraj tribe] said: “BY ALLAH, YOU'RE A LIAR
if he were from your tribe, you would not have wanted to kill him -
you're only saying that because he's from my tribe”

AISHA (r.a.) said ...
-the quarrels and loud voices and they were gonna fight each other
-tribalism was coming back
-asabiyya was coming back from jahiliyya

“There are four matters of jahiliyyah that exist among my ummah and they will not give them up: boasting about one’s forefathers, casting aspersions upon people’s lineages, seeking rain by the stars and wailing for the dead.” [Sahîh Muslim (934)]

4 things of jahiliyya my ummah will never give up :

1. Asabiyya [racism, tribalism]
2. Seeking rain from the stars
3. Wailing for the dead
4. Boasting one's lineage

LESSON 25: THE SHAITAN RUNS IN OUR VEINS THE WAY BLOOD RUNS IN OUR VEINS

-during the quarrel in the masjid, Usaid spoke again and said, “YOU'RE A LIAR, because I would have killed him” re: of what tribe he was from

On that, Usaid bin Hudair who was the cousin of Sad (bin Mu'adh) got up and said to Sad bin 'Ubada, 'By Allah! You are a liar! We will surely kill him, and you are a hypocrite arguing on the behalf of hypocrites.'
-“you're a munafiqh protecting another munafiqh”
-did you know that the Sahabahs called each other's names? [they are human, as we are]
-tempers flared

Passions were flaring...
-Muhammad (saws) had to calm everyone down
-he said it was bringing harm to the deen, the Islamic state and his family
-Aisha said she cried till no more tears were left in her eyes
-just to think her slander was going to cause the ummah to kill each other
-she thought her liver would split!

The 7 major sins:

Shirk
Sorcery
Killing a Muslim
Riba
Stealing from an orphan
Leaving jihad
Slandering a pious Muslimah

Stay away from the seven destroyers." They said: O Messenger of Allah and what are they? He said: "Associating with Allah in worship, sorcery, the taking of a life which Allah has sanctified except rightfully, consuming interest, consuming the property of an orphan, fleeing on the day of intense battle and slandering innocent, unknowing, believing women." Muslim & Bukhari

Holy Prophet (pbuh), there are seven major sins (kaba’ir). Anyone who commits these sins will be punished in the Hereafter unless there is true repentance. In a hadith, the Holy Prophet (pbuh) says, “Avoid the seven noxious things”, and after saying this, the Holy Prophet (pbuh) mentions them, “associating anything with Allah, magic, killing a person without a just reason, consuming the property of an orphan, fleeing from battle when the army is advancing and slandering chaste women.” (Bukhari and Muslim)

LESSON 26: THE SHAITAN HAS ABILITY TO USE ASABIYYAH TO SPLIT THE UMMAH

SHAIKH and his 2 step-children

-they are Kashmiri and his stepson [born in UK] had a best-friend who was Bengali
-some shaitan at the gym said to him re: his friendship,
-“I thot you two hated each other” [2 races]
-so Shaikh explained some history to his son (may Allah reward and bless his son)

When Aisha was crying
-one of her friends from the Ansars came and cried WITH HER

Aisha said; So I continued to cry that day and my tears would not stop flowing until I believed that my liver would split open due to my tears. While I was sitting and crying, my parents were with me, and one of the Ansar ladies asked permission to enter and started crying with me.

LESSON 27: WHEN YOU HURT A MUSLIM, YOU HURT OTHER MUSLIMS

The Messenger of Allah (saw) also said, "The believers, in their love, mutual kindness, and close ties, are like one body; when any part complains, the whole body responds to it with wakefulness and fever." [Muslim]

MUHAMMAD (saws) said to AISHA (ra) ...

-if you are innocent, your name will be cleared by Allah 'tala
-if you did a sin, make taubah and you will be forgiven

LESSON 28: GIVE SALAAMS FIRST .. or you are using bad manners [adab]
-Muhammad even gave salaams to Aisha

LESSON 29: BE SLOW TO ACCUSE and SWIFT TO FORGIVE

Narrated Az-Zuhri: Urwa bin Az-Zubair, Said bin Al-Musaiyab, 'Al-Qama bin Waqqas and 'Ubaidullah bin 'Abdullah related the narration of 'Aisha, the wife the Prophet, when the slanderers had said about her what they had said and Allah later declared her innocence. Each of them related a part of the narration (wherein) the Prophet said (to 'Aisha). "If you are innocent, then Allah will declare your innocence: but if you have committed a sin, then ask for Allah's Forgiveness and repent to him." 'Aisha said, "By Allah, I find no example for my case except that of Joseph's father (when he said), 'So (for me) patience is most fitting.' " Then Allah revealed the ten Verses:-- "Verily those who spread the slander are a gang amongst you.." (24.11) (Bukhari, Book #60, Hadith #212)

Aisha and Abu Bakr (her father)
-she said, “Tell him I did not commit adultery”
-he refused to say anything right away, he wanted to wait
-she begged her mum to please tell the Rasool (saws) she did not do adultery
-but she said WHO AM I TO SPEAK TO THE RASOOL (sallallahu-alayhi-wasallam)?
-but Aisha (ra) said, quoting al-Qur'an:

And they brought his shirt stained with false blood. He said: "Nay, but your ownselves have made up a tale. So (for me) patience is most fitting. And it is Allâh (Alone) Whose help can be sought against that (lie) which you describe." (Yusuf 12:18)

Narrated Umm Ruman: Who was 'Aisha's mother: While I was with 'Aisha, 'Aisha got fever, whereupon the Prophet said, "Probably her fever is caused by the story related by the people (about her)." I said, "Yes." Then 'Aisha sat up and said, "My example and your example is similar to that of Jacob and his sons:--'Nay, but your minds have made up a tale. So (for me) patience is most fitting. It is Allah (alone) Whose help can be sought against that which you assert.' (Surah 12.18) (Bukhari Book #60, Hadith #213)

-your evil souls have caused to you to concoct a lie:
-sabr is the best thing for me now
-and she sought Allah tala's help to expose the lie

LESSON 30: WHEN YOU'RE IN A CRISIS, SEEK AN AYAH FROM AL-QUR'AN TO GUIDE YOU

That was a nation who has passed away. They shall receive the reward of what they earned and you of what you earn. And you will not be asked of what they used to do (Al-Baqara 2:134)

LESSON 31: NO ONE CAN HELP US EXCEPT ALLAH TALA; PUT YOUR TRUST IN HIM

-after one month of the crisis passed, the Prophet (saws) said: “OH AISHA .. ALLAH TALA HAS CLEARED YOUR NAME” (and he laughed w/ happiness)

LESSON 32: THE RASOOL (sallallahu-alayhi-wasallam) HAD EMOTIONS LIKE EVERYONE ELSE
-he cried when his son died
-"ifk" a big lie / slander
-kadib = a lie but “ifk” is a big lie

Verily! those who brought forth the slander (against 'Aishah radhiallahu'anhu the wife of the Prophet SAW) are a group among you... (Al-Noor 24:11)

Aisha didn't consider herself so important

-that 20 ayahs would be revealed to clear her
-it meant her character was too pure to be besmirched [tarnished]
-Parvazi = are hadith rejecters

Narrated 'Aisha: (when the slanderers said what they said about her): I went to my bed knowing at that time that I was innocent and that Allah would reveal my innocence, but by Allah, I never thought that Allah would reveal in my favor a revelation which would be recited, for I considered myself too unimportant to be talked about by Allah in the Divine Revelation that was to be recited. So Allah revealed the ten Verses (of Surat-an-Nur). 'Those who brought a false charge........' (24.11-20) (Bukhari, Book #93, Hadith #635)

LESSON 33: SOMETIMES DELAYING A MATTER IS A WISE THING TO DO

-some of us will be an arms length from Paradise but we will not get in because of our slander

"Among the actions and good deeds for which a believer will continue to receive reward after his death are knowledge which he taught and spread, a good son whom he left behind, or a copy of the Qur'an which he left as a legacy, or a mosque he built, or a house which he built for the traveler, or a stream which he caused to flow, or a sadaqa which he gave from his property when he was alive and well, for which he will continue to receive reward after his death." (Ibn Majah and Baihaqi)

The biggest rival of Aisha (ra)
-was another wife of the Rasool (saws), ZAYNAB BINT JAYSH
-Aisha considered her the biggest rival of the wives of the Rasool (saws)
-but he asked Zaynab’s opinion of Aisha ....
-are you thinking she is going to sink Aisha?
-but she said,
-“Ya Rasulallah, wallahi I don' t know anything about Aisha other than good”
-women today would love to sink Aisha but no, not the taqwah of Zaynab .. -alhumdulillah
-her piety saved her!

LESSON 34: OUR TAQWAH WILL SAVE US
-this is how to do polygamy
-sisters today are revengeful and spiteful: no taqwah
-so polygamy is thought of as war
-it is permissible and we're given the ability to handle it gracefully,
-as Allah tala doesn't give us burdens we can't bear

LESSON 35: POLYGAMY IS NOT WAR

Aisha further said: Allah's Apostle also asked Zainab bint Jaysh about my case. He said, "O Zainab! What have you seen?" She replied, "O Allah's Apostle! I protect my hearing and my sight (by refraining from telling lies). I know nothing but good (about Aisha)." Of all the wives of Allah's Apostle, it was Zainab who aspired to receive from him the same favor as I used to receive, yet, Allah saved her (from telling lies) because of her piety. But her sister, Hamna, kept on fighting on her behalf so she was destroyed as were those who invented and spread the slander. Sahih Bukhari Vol 6, Book 60, No 274:

-polygamy is not about being bitchy but supportive of each other
-we’ll discuss more on the lives of the wives of the Rasool (sallallahu-alayhi-wasallam) at another time

The sister of Zaynab
-she was a kingpin in the slander, thinking she was protecting her sister, who was a wife of the Prophet
-but Zaynab asked no one to fight for her; she was a woman of taqwah

LESSON 36: DON'T INTERFERE IN OTHER PEOPLE'S BUSINESS

On the authority of Abu Hurairah, who said: The messenger of Allah said Part of someone's being a good Muslim is his leaving alone that which does not concern him.

What happened to Safwan?

-he was a shaheed and his last words were, “I never saw the naked body of any woman”

The Prophet (pbuh) said, “When Allah loves a servant, He tests him,” [Tirmidhi]

LESSON 37: SOMETIMES REVELATIONS COME DOWN IN PIECE MEAL

LESSON 38: WHEN ALLAH TALA LOVES YOU, HE TESTS YOU

“A sign of one’s excellence in his Islam, is ignoring what does not concern him.” (Ahmad, Malik & At-Tirmidhi)

LESSON 39: THE HYPOCRITES LIKE TO SLANDER THE BELIEVERS

Abdullah started the rumor; he was a hypocrite
-Hasan ibn Thaabit, Mistah, Hamna bint Jash assisted in the slander

Narrated Ibn Abbas: When 'Abdullah bin 'Ubai died, his son 'Abdullah bin 'Abdullah came to Allah's Apostle and asked him to give him his shirt in order to shroud his father in it. He gave it to him and then 'Abdullah asked the Prophet to offer the funeral prayer for him (his father). Allah's Apostle got up to offer the funeral prayer for him, but Umar got up too and got hold of the garment of Allah's Apostle and said, "O Allah's Apostle Will you offer the funeral prayer for him though your Lord has forbidden you to offer the prayer for him" Allah's Apostle said, "But Allah has given me the choice by saying: '(Whether you) ask forgiveness for them, or do not ask forgiveness for them; even if you ask forgiveness for them seventy times..' (9.80) so I will ask more than seventy times." 'Umar said, "But he ('Abdullah bin 'Ubai) is a hypocrite!" However, Allah's Apostle did offer the funeral prayer for him whereupon Allah revealed: 'And never (O Muhammad) pray for anyone of them that dies, nor stand at his grave.' (9.84) (Book #60, Hadith #192)

LESSON 40: THERE ARE TIMES WHEN WE MUST BE PURIFIED
-the Prophet flogged Hassan ibn Thaabit, Hamna bint Jaysh and Mistah (80x)
-they were all Muslims but Abdullah was not flogged
-the 3 Muslims were flogged to be purified
-so they would not be asked about it on Judgment Day
-Abdullah bin Ubai was not flogged
-because he was a MUNAFIQH ... it is impossible to purify a munafiqh

Ibn Kathir in al Bidayah al Nihaya, Volume 4 page 160 writes the following: "Then he (prophet) went to the people and addressed and then recited what Allah revealed in Quran, then he ordered that Mastah bin Uthatha, Hasaan bin Thaabit, Hamna bint Jaysh to be punished because they were among those who spread the allegation of adultery."

LESSON 41: IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PURIFY A MUNAFIQH

The Hypocrites will be in the lowest depths of the Fire: no helper wilt thou find for them.? (An-Nisa 4:145)

Mistah

-was a cousin of Abu Bakr and he was poor and a muhaajir
-when he slandered Aisha (ra), Abu Bakr said,
-“Wallahi I will never give him anymore financial assistance”
-then Allah tala revealed: Al-Noor 24:22
-then Abu Bakr resumed his financial support of Mistah

And let not those among you who are blessed with graces and wealth swear not to give (any sort of help) to their kinsmen, Al-Masâkîn (the poor), and those who left their homes for Allâh's Cause. Let them pardon and forgive.

Do you not love that Allâh should forgive you? And Allâh is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (Al-Noor 24:22)

LESSON 42: A GOOD FRIEND DOES NOT KICK YOU WHEN YOU ARE DOWN
