Bismillah our last class, we mentioned these characteristics....

Successful indeed are the believers. (Al-Mu'minun 23:1)

Those who offer their Salat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness. (Al-Mu'minun 23:2)

And those who turn away from Al-Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk, falsehood, and all that Allah has forbidden). (Al-Mu'minun 23:3)

And those who pay the Zakat . (Al-Mu'minun 23:4)

And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts) (Al-Mu'minun 23:5)

Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; (Al-Mu'minun 23:6)

But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors; (Al-Mu'minun 23:7)

Those who are faithfully true to their Amanat (all the duties which Allah has ordained, honesty, moral responsibility and trusts etc.) and to their covenants; (Al-Mu'minun 23:8)

And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours). (Al-Mu'minun 23:9)

These are indeed the inheritors. (Al-Mu'minun 23:10)

Who shall inherit the Firdaus (Paradise). They shall dwell therein forever. (Al-Mu'minun 23:11)

-sincere believers do not fidget in their salah
-your salah will be rejected is you fidget too much
-you're not to look around but look at the spot where your head will be in sadjah
-to look up at the skies is makrooh and so is praying with your eyes closed
-Hanbalis differ from Hanafis regarding giggling in salah
-qahqaha is the Arabic word for giggling
-we have no evidence from hadith to say giggling nullifies our salah

-they don't indulge in idol speech / rubbish talk
-they speak with taqwah
-some of us annoy others but they don't tell us because they don't want to offend us
-we had a brother come here who PM members and he would say I AM GONNA KILL MYSELF
-he said he was bullied at school and didn't get over it;
-he told, brothers & sisters & Shaikh
-these things cause people to see you as a burden
-these brothers will come and burden a teenage member,
-who is not old enough to deal w/ your rubbish
-these brothers want to marry sisters
-a woman doesn’t want a man who’s gonna stress her out
-but when a woman marries, she wants to have fun
-Shaikh finds many brothers for sisters,
-but the sisters cannot continue with the brothers
-because the brothers are immature

The Rasul sent Usama ibn Zaid to be a leader of a battalion, he was only 16 years old; when the Rasul died, people wanted Usama to be changed; Abu Bakr said, "How can I change him when he was chosen by Rasulallah?" He was only 16 years old, but today you cannot put a task like this on the youth; some of the youth still play video games

Taqwa gives maturity, you must have taqwa
-Tariq Ibn Zaid conquered Spain when he was 17 years old.
-Tariq Ibn Zaid burnt the ships of the Muslims and told them
-“Where is your escape? the sea is behind you and the enemy is in front of you"
-this speech touched the hearts of the mujahideen
-The teenagers we have speak a lot of love - rubbish talk.
-The teenagers we have nowadays, they speak a lot of rubbish, empty talk,
-so much so that you have sisters who are single
-but they refuse to marry many of these brothers
-Allah said a believer doesn’t talk rubbish talk.
-ALLAH said that one of the characteristics of the believer
-is that he/she refrains from idle talk
-when people come out of jahiliyya, they come with a lot of baggage
-a lot of them did not get love at home,
-so they come to a room like this to solicit sympathy
-if you are sincere, ALLAH will help you to get rid of your baggage
-some of them have emotional, psychological and even physical baggage
-some of them remain addicted to many haraam
-because of the satanic culture they once were apart of

Shaikh’s Women Conference in Sisters in Gambia [7/22/11]
-Shaikh gave a conference to some sisters from Gambia
-they told him that there are many pious sisters in Gambia
-but they cannot find any good brothers

A characteristic of the believer
-is that he/she refrains from idle talk
-women love husbands who are intellectually stimulating
-they can sit with the husband and have an intellectual conversation for hours
-this is the type of man a sister wants

ALLAH says the believer pays the zakah
-you are not allowed to come into Islam
-and practice some part of Islam and reject other parts

And those who pay the Zakat . (Al-Mu'minun 23:4)

ALLAH said: O you who believe, Enter into Islam whole heartedly

O you who believe! Enter perfectly in Islam (by obeying all the rules and regulations of the Islamic religion) and follow not the footsteps of Shaitan (Satan). Verily! He is to you a plain enemy (Al-Baqarah 2:208)

You are allowed to indulge in your right hand possessions (concubines) without nikah

Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; (Al-Mu'minun 23:6)

-according to the modernists, you need to marry your concubines
-before you sleep with them
-the reason why the Sahabahs married their right hand possess from the battlefield
-because the Rasul himself had Juwaiyyah as a right hand possess
-(and he did marry her)

Aishah said, "I never saw a woman in whom there was a greater barakah for her people than her" [Musnad and Abu Dawud in his Sunan].

-out of respect for Juwaiyyah, the Sahabahs married their own right hand possessions
-Aisha said: I have never seen a woman [from the tribe of Banu Mustaliq]
-who was of more barakah for her people than Juwaiyyah
-(Banu Mustaliq was the tribe, and Juwaiyyah
-was the daughter of the leader of the tribe)

ALLAH tells you that you’re allowed to go to bed
-with your right hand possessions
-but the modernists and secularists say you have committed adultery
-if you sleep with your concubines without marriage

Musnad means a book written by Ahmed Ibn Hanbal.
-Hanbalis differ from other madhabs regarding masturbation
-however the Hanbalis say that they beg to differ
-they say masturbation is halal for those who fear falling into zina
-Hanbali say, we beg to differ
-they say masturbation is halaal in fear of falling to zina.

Sunan of Abu-Dawood Hadith 4886 Narrated by Anas ibn Malik: That he heard the Messenger of Allah (saws) say: ‘The eye commits ‘zina’, and the palm of the hand, the foot, the body, the tongue and private part of the body confirm it or deny it.’

One student preferred the opinion of Imam Malik, that masturbation is haraam; now that student stopped coming to this room for that ONE issue; this is a Khawarijj behavior; if you were in an university and a shaikh discussed a topic and brought different opinions and you disagreed with the shaikhs, you would fail that university

Not everyone is a talib ul ilm, a student of knowledge

-you must have patience and you must be humble and bold
-you are not allowed to be shy, the scholars of Islam say
-you’re not allowed to be shy and be a talib ul ilm

Umm Salamah, the wife of Abu Talha, asked the Rasul: if I have a wet dream, do I have to make ghusl? The Rasul said yes; the other women were shocked at Umm Salamah boldness but the Rasul liked the women of Ansar because they were not shy in seeking knowledge

Umm Salamah said: “Umm Sulaym came to the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu alihi wasalam, and said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, Allah is not too shy to tell us the truth. Does a woman have to do ghusl if she has a wet dream?’ The Prophet said: ‘Yes, if she sees water (a discharge).’ Umm Salamah covered her face and said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, can a woman have an erotic dream?’ He said, ‘Yes, may your hands be rubbed with dust. How else would her child resemble her?’” (Bukhari)

-the believers can be trusted
-one of the signs of the last day that people will be treacherous
-you are not allowed to lend money to people,
-unless you can afford to lose that money

The believers have amana

And certainly, We shall test you with something of fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.). (Al-Baqarah 2:155)

Who, when afflicted with calamity, say: "Truly! To Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return." (Al-Baqarah 2:156)

Whenever a calamity befalls you,

-you do not contemplate committing suicide
-ALLAH says after hardship, comes ease
-you do not contemplate committing suicide
-because ALLAH has made a promise to you in the Quran
-ALLAH says HE will not place a burden on you larger than you can bear

-you don’t despair because you are not a kaafir
-Allah burdens not a person beyond his scope. (Al-Baqarah 2:286)
-no one despairs except the kaafirs >> 12:87

"O my sons! Go you and enquire about Yûsuf (Joseph) and his brother, and never give up hope of Allah's Mercy. Certainly no one despairs of Allah's Mercy, except the people who disbelieve." (Yusuf 12:87)

Jacob sent his sons to Egypt and said:

-go and search for Yusuf, and never despair
-because only the kaafirs are those who despair

After every hardship, comes two ease
-that is why ALLAH repeated HIMSELF twice >> 94:5-6

So verily, with the hardship, there is relief, (Ash-Sharh 94:5)

Verily, with the hardship, there is relief (i.e. there is one hardship with two reliefs, so one hardship cannot overcome two reliefs). (Ash-Sharh 94:6)

-you don’t practice unconditional love
-you put a condition on your love : we will love you if you are a sincere believer
-if you are a friend of the ummah we will love you
-if you are an enemy of the ummah we will hate you
-you practice al walaa wal baraa

You (O Muhammad SAW) will not find any people who believe in Allah and the Last Day, making friendship with those who oppose Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad SAW ), even though they were their fathers, or their sons, or their brothers, or their kindred (people). (Al-Mujadilah 58:22)

-because the believers have eeman, they practice al walaa wal baraa
-when the companions went to the Battle of Badr
-who did they fight against?
-was it the Persians or the Romans?
-they fought against their own brothers;
-and fathers; the nephew fought the uncle

You (O Muhammad SAW) will not find any people who believe in Allah and the Last Day, making friendship with those who oppose Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad SAW ), even though they were their fathers, or their sons, or their brothers, or their kindred (people). For such He has written Faith in their hearts, and strengthened them with Rûh (proofs, light and true guidance) from Himself. (Al-Mujadilah 58:22)

Abu Sufyan wanted to prevent the battle

-because he did not want blood feud between families
-but Abu Jahl said: “let us fight, we will not go back empty handed,
-we will teach the Muslims a lesson”
-so when they fought, Umar killed his own uncle at this battle
-he killed the brother of his own mother

Abu Bakr told his kaafir son
-that if he saw him in the battle, he would have killed his kaafir son

The best of the actions is to love for the sake of Allah and to hate for the sake of Allah. Abu Dawud 40:4582

The Muslims are hypocritical today

-they don’t love and hate for the sake of ALLAH
-they love and hate for the sake of dunya

Abu Ubaidah ibn al Jarrah chopped off the head of his father
-during this battle
-how many of you could chop off your fathers head?
-..if you saw your kaafir father on the battlefield
-ex: Shia, Barelvis, Saudi Salafis
-indeed Saudi Salafis are kaafirs as well
-they cement the thrones of apostate rulers and give their bayah to the kuffar

How many of you could do what Abu Ubaidah ibn al Jarrah did?
-ALLAH said : those who love and hate for MY sake,
-these I have written in their hearts eeman

For such He has written Faith in their hearts, and strengthened them with Rûh (proofs, light and true guidance) from Himself. (Al-Mujadilah 58:22)

O you who believe! Take not My enemies and your enemies (i.e. disbelievers and polytheists, etc.) as friends, showing affection towards them, while they have disbelieved in what has come to you of the truth (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, this Qur'an, and Muhammad SAW), and have driven out the Messenger (Muhammad SAW) and yourselves (from your homeland) because you believe in Allah your Lord! (Al-Mumtahinah 60:1)

Defence of the Muslim Lands by Shaikh Abdullah Azzam

And the slaves of the Most Beneficent (Allah) are those who walk on the earth in humility and sedateness, and when the foolish address them (with bad words) they reply back with mild words of gentleness. (Al-Furqan 25:63)

This ayah tells you that when you walk on the earth, you don’t walk with pride and arrogance

-Luqman the Wise said to his son in 31:18

"And turn not your face away from men with pride, nor walk in insolence through the earth. Verily, Allah likes not each arrogant boaster. (Luqman 31:18)

So some people when they walk,

-they walk with pride and arrogance, and they are boastful
-this is not your characteristic as a believer, you have humility
-you know that one of ALLAH's name is Mutakabbir
-which means the One Who Is Proud
-therefore only ALLAH can be proud, HE is allowed to be because
-He (swt) is the Creator of everything, he does not get old or tired, etc
-how can you be proud? are you going to live forever?
-some of you can barely walk; some of you
-will become senile and you will lose your memory
-you’re not going to live forever, you will not be forever beautiful or handsome
-you will become old, some will become fat, some will lose teeth
-so what are you bragging and boasting about?

***one day Umar ibn Abdul Aziz was walking beside his shaikh and he was walking in a proud manner; the shaikh stuck his finger into Umar’s ribcage and said: “you are not allowed to walk like this because you use the restroom;” Umar was actually beaten to walk a particular way because he was being groomed to be a caliph

The Rasul said: anyone who has the smallest particle of pride in his heart will never enter Paradise

"The one who has even the smallest particle of pride in his heart will not enter Paradise."Muslim (#263), on the authority of 'Abdullaah ibn Mas'ood (may Allaah be pleased with him)

"Verily! Kings, when they enter a town (country), they despoil it, and make the most honourable amongst its people low. And thus they do. (An-Naml 27:34)

-the example of Umar was not to promote kingship
-ALLAH says in 27:34 that

Verily! Kings, when they enter a town (country), they despoil it, and make the most honourable amongst its people low. 27:34

Kingship is not allowed in Islam
-Umar ibn Abdul Aziz became king/ caliph by default
-even in the House of Saud, they had a king named King Saud
-who was a player (slept with many women, etc)
-he was kicked out by King Faisal

Kingship is dangerous
-because it is imposed upon the people
-when the father dies the son takes over
-what if the son is sinful and corrupt?
-this happened in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia
-kings will give their walaa to the crusaders and Zionist
-and even to shaitan to keep their power
-kingship is not allowed in Islam

And the slaves of the Most Beneficent (Allah) are those who walk on the earth in humility and sedateness, and when the foolish address them (with bad words) they reply back with mild words of gentleness. (Al-Furqan 25:63)

-ALLAH said: when the ignoramus tries to debate with you,
-you say "salaam" and leave that person
-if someone asks the question: what is the Islamic ruling of fortune telling?
-and you quote the hadith: anyone who goes and believes in the soothsayer
-has rejected faith in Muhammad
-this person may now say if, and, but
-but that person with his 'if, and, buts' can go to hell
-when we give you the hujjah our job is finished

"And our duty is only to convey plainly (the Message)." (Ya-Sin 36:17)

And whatsoever the Messenger (Muhammad SAW) gives you, take it, and whatsoever he forbids you, abstain (from it), and fear Allah. Verily, Allah is Severe in punishment. (Al-Hashr 59:7)

-so when we see you coming into the masjid wearing a gold ring
-and we bring the hujjah that men wearing gold is haraam
-and you said "but, what if, perhaps, perchance, and"
-you and your statements can go to hell
-if you can’t cope with the hujjah, you need to
-take it up with ALLAH on the Day of Judgment
-don’t argue with us
-we did not reveal Islam, ALLAH revealed Islam
-our job is not to argue with you, but to bring you the hujjah
-ALLAH said: our only duty is to convey the message

You are arguing with us as if we had revealed the Qur'an
-you are behaving like the Jews
-the Jews said the angel Gabriel revealed the Quran to Muhammad
-informed Muhammad on the misdeeds, they hate the angel Gabriel --
-but ALLAH HIMSELF said that HE HIMSELF is the author of the Quran
-so when the Jews hated the angel Gabriel, they actually hated ALLAH

The ignoramus cannot surrender to the hujjah (Quran and Sunnah )
-do NOT marry these types of people

***example: you tell your children that they must eat with the right hand, but your ignoramus spouse says no, they can eat with any hand; you tell your child she must wear hijab at puberty, but your ignoramus spouse disagrees

-Shaikh has seen Muslims marry out of desperation
-they ended up marrying hypocrites
-when you tell your child one thing, the Munafiqh opposes you
-this makes the child confused
-you are not allowed to marry a person unless both of you are spiritually compatible

The reason why these sisters knowingly marry munafiqhs
-is because they believe that they can change the munafiqh
-and make them strong
-but who told you that you have the ability to make someone strong?

ALLAH is Al Mu’min -- The Giver of Eeman
-therefore ALLAH is the One who gives eeman

-if a man is not practicing, don’t take him on as a husband
-it’s a gamble, there is no guarantee that he will love ALLAH

"Verily the hearts of mankind, all of them, are between two fingers of the All-merciful like one single heart, which He turns whither He wills (Muslim (14), 4.2045: 2654. S).

-they spend the night in sajda
-they spend the night in sajda
-the Sahabahs were horsemen during the day, and saints during the night
-in the day they did jihad, and at night they did tahajjud

-you are neither miserly or wasteful,
-the wasteful are the brothers of the shaitan

-You single out Allah for your ibadah
-you do not commit shirk

1. Rape
2. Adultery
3. Incest
4. Homosexuality (in Islam we don’t kill Lesbians)
5. Bestiality

** The above 5 points regard the private part

6. Apostates
7. Murder
8. Spies for the kuffar against the Muslims
9. Dabbles in black magic
10. Smuggles drugs into the society

-not marijuana; hard drugs: class A; marijuana is a soft drug, it is C class

11. Highway robbery

**if you pick someone’s pocket, we cut off your hand
-if you stick someone up with a gun and rob them,
-in Shariah law, we’d cut off your head
-ALLAH tells us to crucify these people

The recompense of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and do mischief in the land is only that they shall be killed or crucified or their hands and their feet be cut off on the opposite sides, or be exiled from the land. That is their disgrace in this world, and a great torment is theirs in the Hereafter. (Al-Ma'idah 5:33)

-many did not know that crucifixion is a punishment in the Quran >> 5:33
-by the way -- you do not kill every apostate -- some apostates can be reformed
-apostasy is a disease, and it can be treated
-Ibn Abass reformed 4000 apostates and helped them come back to Islam

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 8.260: Abu Huraira narrated from the Prophet (saws) who said "Allah has written for the children of Adan their share of ‘zina’ which he commits inevitably. ‘zina’ of the eyes is the sight (to gaze at a forbidden thing), the ‘zina’ of the tongue is the talk, and the inner self wishes and desires and the private parts testify all this or deny it."

ALLAH said if you dabble in zina,

-your punishment will be doubled in the Akhira
-if you were not punished in the dunya)
-if you did not commit sins, Allaah would sweep you out of existence
-and replace you by another people who would commit sins,
-ask for Allaah's forgiveness and He would forgive them."

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger having said: By Him in Whose Hand is my life, if you were not to commit sin, Allah would sweep you out of existence and He would replace (you by) those people who would commit sin and seek forgiveness from Allah, and He would have pardoned them. (Sahih Muslim, Book 037, Number 6622)

This hadith tells you that you’re not allowed to despair if you committed sins; you should always have hope; the ayah that tells you that you should not lose hope when you’ve sinner 39:53

Say: "O 'Ibadi (My slaves) who have transgressed against themselves (by committing evil deeds and sins)! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah, verily Allah forgives all sins. Truly, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (Az-Zumar 39:53)

-worship ALLAH SWT with a combination of love, hope and fear

This means that you don’t go to the courthouse
-and give a false testimony
-you cannot swear by ALLAH and give a false testament
-when you go to the court house to testify,
-the Judge will let you say Wallahi
-therefore you cannot lie
-if a person lies to you, make him agree to say wallahi,
-and both of you call down the curse of ALLAH on the liar
-if he cannot say wallahi,
-then this person is a liar spreading mischief upon the earth
-you should always use this principle of using wallahi
-and calling down the curse upon the liar

-when you pass by senseless pastimes, you pass by with dignity
-example: movies of Hollywood and Bollywood
-the kaafirs put out a movie called James Bond: Casino Royale
-who would watch this rubbish?
-when you watch these movies you become a munafiqh
-because you are being entertained by human devils

-you do not become deaf, dumb, and blind to Quran and Sunnah
-you are not rebellious and negligent to Quran and Sunnah

-you constantly make dua and ask ALLAH for righteous wives and offspring >> 64:14

O you who believe! Verily, among your wives and your children there are enemies for you (i.e. may stop you from the obedience of Allah), therefore beware of them! But if you pardon (them) and overlook, and forgive (their faults), then verily, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (At-Taghabun 64:14)
