Abdul Hadee: Searching for Ramadan : 17 Shaaban 1432 : (18th July 2011)

(Students notes, typed while the brother gave the talk in Authentic Tauheed)

--Everyone (even us Muslims) go about with the calendar of the Kuffar, that calendar (Gregorian Calendar) has no link to our identity (Islamic), what does these months mean to us? The names of teh months are based upon the pagan deities, there's no links to our Islamic identity, to our glorious history

--is does not remind us of ALLAH SWT's Tawheed, nor RasulAllah saws, nor the Sahabah, or the Salafus Saleh, it has NOTHING to do with us Muslims

--every month is linked to a pagan god and the celebrations of the Kuffar
--Its not related to our battles, or the birth of the Islamic State

--our youth have no clue whatsoever about the Islamic Calendar, we leave with the Calendar of the Kuffar and we are familiar with it

--In Islam, the calendar is extremely significant, ALLAH SWT put great importance to timings as some dates are elevated above others
--The Sahabah gathered and had shura about when to start an Islamic Calendar and they decided that the Hijrah would be the start of the Islamic Calendar
--Amongst the best of all months is the Ramadan- its days are the best days and its nights are the best nights, this month, the Quran was revealed, thus elevated and honoured by ALLAH SWT

--Uthman ra was asked by RasulAllah saws, what he loved and he said to give sadaqa, to have seclusion with ALLAH SWT, and to fast, teh Sahaba were known as knights during the day and worshippers during teh day..

--How many of us have a guarantee that we will make it for Ramadan? The Sahaba were getting read for Ramadan 6 months in advance, that is how significant the month of Ramadan is

--RasulAllah saws climbed some stairs and he said AMEEN 3 times, and of the du'a was that whosoever witnessed Ramadan and did not take advantage to ripe its fruits, is a cursed individual

--The Sabaha used to cry when Ramadan used to end and wondered if they would be given another chance to witness another Ramadan

Verily! As-Safa and Al-Marwah (two mountains in Makkah) are of the Symbols of Allah. So it is not a sin on him who perform Hajj or 'Umrah (pilgrimage) of the House (the Ka'bah at Makkah) to perform the going (Tawaf) between them (As-Safa and Al-Marwah). And whoever does good voluntarily, then verily, Allah is All-Recogniser, All-Knower. (Al-Baqarah 2:158)

--In Ramadan, the Mission of Tawheed was started, the final Ummah was defined, when the pages of Jahiliyyah were turned, a Book that is Light was revealed, Guidance was sent, month of Quran, month of Laa Ilaha Illallah, teh month were teh Prophethood started, countless blessings were given to us by ALLAH SWT

--ALLAH SWT has bestowed countless favours on us
--Ramadan is also the month of Shari'ah

--ALLAH SWT said that HE has only created man and jinn only to worship HIM, and we worship HIM by establishing the Shariah which is based on the Qur’an wa Sunnah and anyone who says we can go about without the LAWS of ALLLAH SWT being established, that person is a deviant
--How long has it been sine we are living without Shari'ah? Too long has it been for us without Shariah

--Ramadan is a month when we give up all evil, we redeem ourselves, we submit to ALLAH SWT every single limbs in our body

He it is Who hath sent His messenger with the guidance and the religion of Truth, that He may make it conqueror of all religion however much idolaters may be averse. ( As-Saff 61:9)

--ISLAM is absolute submission to ALLAH SWT, absolute obdience to HIM SWT, and we rule only with HIS Rules (Shariah)
--Ramadan is the month of forgiveness, we redeem ourselves

--we call for unity and claim brotherhood, but why have we forsaken one another? we Muslims are one body, we must forgive one another, if we show mercy & forgiveness to one another, ALLAH SWT will show us the same

--Ulama have said that when we learn about the Names & Attributes of ALLAH SWT, we implement them to our daily lives such as ar-Rahman (we show mercy to people) and al-Hakam (we rule with the Shariah)

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "When Ramadan begins, the gates of Jannah are opened, the gates of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained.'' [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

--Turn to ALLAH SWT in that blessed month and ALALH SWT is most Forgiving, Ramadan is also the month of Jannah for all the gates are opens so we must book our seats and hope and strive to be amongst the Siddiqeen & Shuhadah. How can we not desire Jannah where reside the Hoor al Ayn, the rivers, the mansions, and where we will see the Face of ALLAH SWT.

--Ramadan should be a month when we want to increase our Dawah, Tilawat, salah...etc...

--Ramadan has a month that is the Night of Power (97:1)
--we must strive to worship ALLAH SWT as much as we can that Night

Lo! We revealed it on the Night of Power. (Al-Qadr 97:1)

--we must supplicate as much as we can, let us use the du'a as a weapon against the Kuffar, let us pray for the Mujahideen, for the Ummah to be relieved, for our daily hardships to be lifted and removed from us

Say: Lo! my worship and my sacrifice and my living and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the Worlds. (Al-Anaam 6:162)

--Ramadan is also the month where we should want to increase teh bond of brotherhood and we should forgive one another and smile at one another

--Ramadan is also the month of Jihad, the Mujahideen are aware of this, therefore they increase in their worship, in Ramadan the Battle of Bard (greatest battle in Islam)took place and that battle is known as al-Furqan for it divided Truth from falsehood

--The Fitnah of a person with his properties can be alleviated through salah, sadaqa(?) and FASTING
--Ar-Rayyan is a gate in Jannah where the people who fasted will enter from
--Whosoever fasts with Imaan during Ramadan, his previous sins will be forgiven (hadith)

--RasulAllah saws was the most generous of all people but during Ramadan. he saws was reported to be even more giving
--Fasting is a shield against the fire of Hell, is it a weapon for us
--our weapon is also du'a for ALLAH SWT is able to respond to our call and take revenge and destroy the Kuffar who have invaded our lands and killed our people***

--in relation to du'a, RasulAllah saws said that the fasting person has, at the time of breaking his fast, a du'a that will not be rejected by ALLAH SWT (a hadith)

--if anyone of us fast without any gheebah, any lies, will be forgiven ?
--if we want salvation and forgiveness, let us fast during Ramadan
--anyone who facilitates the Iftar for a poor person, will get a huge reward (hadith)
--let us return to ALLAH SWT during this blessed month of Ramadan, lets us not waste it for we might not see another one

--at any moment anyone can pass away, let us not waste it and let us fast it and take advantage of this blessed month
