(student notes typed while brother Abu Nusaybah was giving lecture in Authentic Tauheed Paltalk room )

-- the best guidance is our prophet Muhammad salah Allahu Alayhe wasalam

Whosoever follows a path to seek knowledge therein, Allah will make easy for him a path to Paradise.[Muslim]

--Rasulallah saws is the best and most perfect example for this Ummah, for every aspect of our lives

-- we will highlight two of these qualities.
Say (O Muhammad SAW): "Verily, my Salat (prayer), my sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allah, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). (Al-An'am 6:162)

"He has no partner. And of this I have been commanded, and I am the first of the Muslims." (Al-An'am 6:163)

--ALLAH SWT said that our salah, our sacrifices, our lives, and our death is solely for ALLAH SWT, according to HIS Commands, and rasulallah saws has been commanded to do so and to make us submit to it aswell

Nor does he speak of (his own) desire. (An-Najm 53:3)

--He saws was a walking Quran, as our mother Aisha r.a described him to be, he saws acted according to the Deen in every aspect

He it is Who has sent His Messenger (Muhammad SAW) with guidance and the religion of truth (Islam), that He may make it (Islam) superior over all religions. And All-Sufficient is Allah as a Witness. (Al-Fath 48:28)

--Huda in 48:23 means the Shari’ah, this Aqeeda of ours, this Deen (al Islam) will take over all systems on the face of this earth even if the kuffar hate it
--a man might be doing Dawah or Jihad, but we may find that he is not following in all aspects of the Deen

You (O Muhammad SAW) are not, by the Grace of your Lord, a madman. (Al-Qalam 68:2)

And verily, for you (O Muhammad SAW) will be an endless reward. (Al-Qalam 68:3)

And verily, you (O Muhammad SAW) are on an exalted standard of character. (Al-Qalam 68:4)

--if a man does not speak according to the Quran wa Sunnah as understood by the salaf us-saleh, in that case, he is speaking from his own desires
-- if a man does not speak according to the Quran and Sunnah or the understanding of the salaf as-saalih : he is only speaking of his own desires

--if a man does not act according to the rules of ALLAH SWT, he is acting according to his own desires
----we need to be firmly grounded in knowledge in order to act right, ALLAH SWT will hold us accountable for ALL of our actions
RasulAllah saws said not to belittle ANY good deeds even if its giving a date

"You will not enter paradise until you believe, and you will not believe until you love one another: 'spread salaam' (the greeting of peace) among you." (Muslim)

-- .. the messenger said : you will not enter paradise until you believe. and you will not believe until you love one another: what is that thing... spreading salaams

--something as little as giving salam will increase love and create brotherhood in this Ummah
--people are walking around sad, and no longer want to even give salaams

--ALLAH SWT destined for Brother Abu Nusaybah to make Dawah. The prisoner asked the brother what he was studying.
--the brother started to look into books, the brother still felt the need to look into them
-- the book of knowledge upon the methodology of aswj

--all these will be taught according to the understanding of ASWJ InshaALLAH

1, Seeking knowledge and etiquettes of seeking knowledge.
2, Scholars of truth,
3, Obligation of Haqq,
4, Deen of Islam
5, Tawheed,
6, Angels,
7, Books,
8, Messengers,
9, Belief in al Qadr wal Qadaar.
10, The reality of eman.
--Imaan is the conviction in the Qalb (heart)
--the branches of Imaan

11, nawaqid .
--nawaqid al Imaan
--joking with the DEEN is kufr
-- when you mock the Deen of Allah, you become a kaafir

--ALLAH SWT said so in Quran, joking or mocking the DEEN is Kufr Akbar
12, takfir : many people have issues about it.

13.. ahlus-sunnah wal jamaah
--Ja'am ibn Safwan was killed on EID by the Khalifah for he denied that ALLAH SWT could speak
-- everyone claims to be people of Haqq, i.e. aswj

14- description and definition of the Khilafah
-- khilafah, and shariah
--ruling system of the Khilafah
--sovereignty belongs solely to ALLAH SWT
--this will be in general terms

--human beings ( physical body, needs, fears)
--things such as the rights of the wife will be discussed, the rights of the husband, the rights of children ..etc, this knowledge will facilitate our Dawah InshaALLAH

--children have rights over their parents even before they are born: the father must choose a good mother for the child

--'Umar ra said to one man who chose a bad wife that he killed his own child before he was born

--Hind bint Utbah was offended when someone said her son Muwawiyah would be the chief of Quraysh, but she said her son will rule the world. Muwawiyah ra became the Khalifah

16- foreign policies
17--Izharudden (Worldwide Domination of Islam)
18- Ahkam of Jihad
19-- Manhaj to establish the Deen Of ALLAH Azza wa Jal
20-- the hardships faced Fi sabilillah (about 30 things from Quran wa Sunnah)
--imprisonment (part of Dawah or not, ALLAH SWT said HE would test us, path of Jannah is not easy)
--some will be tested by death
21--Sabr Fi sabilillah


--Because of the Shari'ah the servant will be able to worship ALLAH SWT, therefore it is a must to know it
--every single junction of our lives, there is a test, there is an occasion to be patient or to be grateful

--we must know that we are living in an emergency: we are living under man-made system and not the Khilafah (the LAWS of ALLAH SWT)
--we are living under the rules of apostate rulers who have been appointed by the Crusaders of the West

-we must seek knowledge in these times of crisis so that we make bring back the Khilafah, the Izharudeen, that we may rule and not be ruled, that we may preserve the DEEN of ALLAH SWT

"Seeking Knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim." (Reported by 'Abû ya'la and narrated by al Bayhaqiyy)

--Rasulallah saws said seeking knowledge is Fard al Ayn upon every single Muslim
--the Quran is an explanation to everything we know, the Shari'ah encompasses all that we need
--Abu Dhar al Ghifari said that Rasulallah saws taught us everything , even the bird that’s flying in the sky

And We have sent down to you the Book (the Qur'an) as an exposition of everything, a guidance, a mercy, and glad tidings for those who have submitted themselves (to Allah as Muslims). (An-Nahl 16:89)

--the DEEN was taught comprehensively
1) Ilm is Fardhul Ayn
2) Fardul Kifayah
--one knowledge is general, such as salah, hajj..etc
--there is no possibily of error in narration, this is Ijma amongst the scholars of ASWJ, we are not allowed to ignore the issues of the DEEN, they are known by necessities

--the salaf us-saleh have said that it is absolutely no excuse to be ignorant about the necessities of this DEEN

So know (O Muhammad SAW) that La ilaha ill-Allah (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah), (Muhammad 47:19)

--the Tawheed is also known by necessity, this is the greatest obligation and we need to be aware of it, the best and most important of all necessities

--a mujtahid must know the 500 ayah in Quran related to it

--Fard Kifayah: if some of the Ummah has it, the obligation/sin/punishment is lifted from the Ummah
--we must ask the Ulama when we are in doubt or ignorant about a matter
--the Ulama of Haqq can be counted in our hands, they are so few, most of our honourable Ulama are locked up
--the Ulama of Haqq are either in prison, or on the way to prison, or on the battlefield, or on their way to the battlefield, or on their way to their graves, they are wanted by the Kuffar
--we must seek knowledge to bring the Ummah up again, we must have the desire to be Ulama, and the least we can desire so to be a student of knowledge, we need knowledge to save ourselves from Shirk and Kufr, lest w enter the fire without even knowing it

1) making du'a to ALLAH SWT, without HIS Will, we will never attain any knowledge

He (Allah) knows what happens to them (His creatures) in this world, and what will happen to them (in the Hereafter), and they will never compass anything of His Knowledge. (Ta-Ha 20:110)

"My Lord! Increase me in knowledge." (Ta-Ha 20:114)

--ALLAH SWT will put the light of knowledge in our hearts. Even though Rasulallah saws taught by Jibril as, ALLAH SWT commanded him saws to make du'a to ALLAH SWT to increase in ILM.
--Rasulallah saws asked ALLAH SWT to grant him beneficial knowledge and seeked refuge from knowledge that brings him no benefit

--beneficial knowledge is that which we act upon, the useless knowledge is the one that we do not act upon and it causes us no good in acquiring it

2. sincerity upon the path of seeking knowledge

when we are seeking knowledge , it is an act of ibadah
no act of worship will be accepted unless we do it for the sake of ALLAH alone
--no act of worship will be accepted unless it is done solely for the pleasure of ALLAH SWT

“The Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said, “Whosoever learns knowledge by which is to be sought the Face of Allah, but does not do so except for the goal of this world, he will not smell the odour of Paradise on the Day of Resurrection.” (Abu Dawud)

if you seek the knowledge for other than the sake of ALLAH ta ala, you will be punished by ALLAH

3. striving hard and struggling hard in seeking the knowledge
the knowledge does not come easy

“Whoever seeks knowledge that should be sought seeking the Face of Allah, but he only seeks it for the sake of some worldly gain, he will not smell the fragrance of Paradise on the Day of Resurrection." (Hasan) [The Book of Knowledge: Sunan Abu Dawud]

--nowadays we don’t value the knowledge of the deen because we don’t struggle for it
the sahabas would struggle for months and travel through harsh conditions just to learn one hadith

--if you don’t push yourself, you wont value the knowledge
--ir will go through one ear and out the other, it wont settle in the heart
--so learn the books of the ulama, go to conferences, listen to talks, these are all blessed means to seek knowledge
“Allah makes the way to Jannah easy for him who treads the path in search of knowledge.” [Saheeh Muslim]

--the knowledge which is valuable will settle in your heart insha'ALLAH
--the best way of acquiring knowledge of the deen is the way of the salaf
--you need to build relations with the ulama of haqq
--the salaf saleh had access to their ulama
--they had 100s, if not , thousands of ulama that they studied under

4. avoiding all disobedience and having taqwa of ALLAH swt

--having taqwa means that the servant always remembers ALLAH, and that he always grateful, never ungrateful
--he obeys ALLAH
--having fear of the punishment of ALLAH
--obey ALLAH and stay away from his prohibitions

--as a student of knowledge, you must have taqwa

--ALLAH will teach you HIS deen to know between the haqq and batil insha'ALLAH ta ala

O you who believe! If you obey and fear Allah, He will grant you Furqan a criterion [(to judge between right and wrong), or (Makhraj, i.e. making a way for you to get out from every difficulty)], and will expiate for you your sins, and forgive you, and Allah is the Owner of the Great Bounty. (Al-Anfal 8:29)

--if you have taqwa of ALLAH, HE will teach you
--if you have disobedience of ALLAH, ALLAH will take the knowledge away from you

2:282 in part ... If ye do (harm to them) lo! it is a sin in you. Observe your duty to Allah. Allah is teaching you. And Allah is knower of all things. (282)

The noble companion 'Abdullah Ibn Mas'ood said, "Indeed, I consider that a man loses knowledge which he once had, due to a sin which he committed."

--abandon the disobedience of ALLAH swt, because the knowledge of ALLAH is a light, and the light of ALLAH is not given to those who are fasiqeen

And Allah guides not the people who are Al-Fasiqûn (the rebellious, disobedient to Allah). (At-Tawbah 9:24)

Imaam ash-Shaafi’ee (rahimahullaah) said, “I complained to Wakeel’ about the poorness of my memory. So he directed me to abandon disobedience. And he informed me that the knowledge of Allaah is light.
And that the light of Allaah is not given to the disobedient."[9] Imaam Maalik said to Imaam ash-Shaafi’ee (rahimahullaah), “ I see that Allaah has placed light in your heart so do not extinguish it with the darkness of disobedience."

Al-Jawaab al-Kaafee of Ibn al-Qayyim (p. 104).

5. being neither shy or arrogant in the path of seeking knowledge and asking questions

--the Rasul was asked about the arrogance
-- 'is it the wear new clothes or shoes'
-- the Rasul said : no, arrogance is to reject the truth, and think that you’re better than others

--the Quraysh knew that the Rasul was speaking the truth -- they used to call him the trustworthy
-- but they couldn’t understand why people of 'better' reputation were not given prophet hood
instead of Muhammad SAWs

The Prophet said: Whoever has pride in his heart equal to the weight of an atom shall not enter Paradise. A man inquired about a person who likes to wear beautiful clothes and fine shoes, and he answered: God is beautiful and likes beauty. Then he explained pride means rejecting the truth because of self-esteem and looking down on other people (Muslim).

--they look at the color of your skin, the size of your nose, your bank account, your car, etc. but ---they don’t look at the speech, if its in accordance to the Quran and Sunnah

Allâh wishes to make clear (what is lawful and what is unlawful) to you, and to show you the ways of those before you, and accept your repentance, and Allâh is All¬Knower, All¬Wise. (An-Nisa 4:26)

--these type of people are like the people of Noah (as)
--yes Abu Bakr followed the Rasul, but why did Bilal follow him ? This proves that people from ---all walks of life followed the Rasul because they recognized the truth

"Shall we believe in you when the poorest of people follow you?" this is what the people of Noah

-- If a tafsir reaches us from Mujahid ibn Jabir, it is enough for us
Mujaahid said, “The shy person and the arrogant one will not learn the knowledge.” [Reported by Bukhaaree in Kitaabul-Ilm]

A man gets married and he wants to do some particular things with his wife, and he doesn’t know whether its halal or haram, and he’s too shy to ask an alim -- so what does he do? he ends up doing something haram, because he was too shy to ask an alim

-- some answers are just obvious -- some questions are so clear cut
but obviously there are questions where people do not know the hukm too, so ask an alim

--you got brothers praying for children, etc -- but they are not even trying to get married
--don’t ask ALLAH to give you a path for jihad, but you never search for the means yourself
Umar ibn Al-Khattab advised some people who stayed at the mosque and said "We are relying on God." He said his common words: "The sky does not rain gold or silver."

--there is no shyness in DEEN

'A'isha said: How good are the women of Ansar (helpers) that their shyness does not prevent them from learning religion. MUSLIM 168/649

--we must ask in order to learn, if you are too shy to ask, make someone else ask the question for you
--the student of knowledge must learn not to be shy in order to acquire the knowledge of the DEEN, also shyness must not prevent us from asking about something that has occurred to us
-- it has been narrated : it is not befitting that shyness should prevent a person with asking about something which has happened to him , but if he is too shy then he could give the question to someone else to ask on his behalf

6. acting upon the knowledge

The main purpose of seeking knowledge, is to act upon it to please ALLAH swt
One of the salaf said, “No shy or arrogant person will ever seek knowledge.”

--we learn to the knowledge to act upon it, that is the fruit of knowledge
-- the reason why we study is so we know what Allah has made halal and what is fardh and what is haram upon you.

-- we seek the knowledge in order to act upon it seeking to please Allah .
--the knowledge that is not acted upon will be a cause for punishment
-- the knowledge that is gained but not acted upon will be a cause of punishment on Yawm al Qiyamah

-- some people say that they will not seek knowledge so that Allah will not judge them according to their knowledge (as they are jahil )
-- actually the easy way out is to seek the knowledge AND to act upon it

Acting upon the knowledge, the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) said: "A servants two feet will not move on the Day of Judgement until he is questioned about four (things): His youth, how he spent it, his knowledge, how he acted upon it, his wealth, how he earned it and how he spent it and his body, how he used/wasted it." Reported by at-Tirmidhee (2417) and see Saheeh ut-Targheeb wat-Tarheeb (1/126).

-- the youth, knowledge, wealth and body will all be asked about HADITH
-- a man will have his intestines pouring out. : but he was one of those who commanded the good, but did not do it, and forbade the evil but did the evil
-- the salaf were so scared about acting not upon their knowledge
-- Abdullah ibn Mas’ood, said : oh my people., learn, and when you have learnt then act upon it

“Verily, the most dreaded thing that I fear for myself is that it be said to me: ‘O ‘Uwaymir, did you have knowledge?’ And so I will respond ‘Yes.’ Then it will be said to me: ‘So what deeds did you do based on your knowledge?’”
Abud-Dardaa (radhiyAllaahu ’Anahu)

-- the Sahaba used to worry about acting upon the knowledge that they had
-- we need to seek knowledge and act upon it
-- the scholars are always revising the books of knowledge
-- the child was walking on the river bank : Abû hanifah said to the boy, be careful : you will fall : the boy replied, you need to be more careful as if you (Abû hanifah) fall then the people will fall with you!
-- when people follow the Ulama : if they are wrong then they will be misguided

-- the Rasool and his wife Saffiyah were walking : he saw two sahabas and called them back, telling them .. this is my wife! They replied that they did not doubt him, the Rasool told them : verily the shaytan runs through the body like the blood runs through the veins
