This is an important surah and is a Meccan surah

The Rasool (saws
) prepared a small amount of meat to feed
-a large crowd and he told them, you're my uncles
-so I appreciate if you help me
-he said the people of Makkah will not tolerate another religion
-they are comfortable w/ what they have

Ali was living w/ Khadijah and the Prophet (pbuh)
-even though he had an eye infection,
-he offered to be the 1st to assist the Prophet
-and he grew up to be a stalwart of Islam
-the kuffaar would say, "Send out your champion"
-when the 2 sides met in battle and
-Ali was the one they sent and he never lost a duel
-he was called the LION in Islam and this nickname
-was given by Muhammad (sallahi 'alayi wa salam)
-and when Muhammad 1st asked for help, little Ali was the 1st to offer
-he grew up to be a stalwart of Islamic history

The first people Muhammad invited to Islam was his family
-Khadijah, his uncles, his family
-it is the Sunnah to invite our family to Islam first
-then he invited Quraysh [which has different clans]
-and he called them by their clan names
-I gathered you here today to say there is no God but Allah
-and I am the Messenger of Allah 'tala

Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab (an uncle of the Prophet), and perish he! (Al-Masad 111:1)

-he screamed out, 'is this why you gathered us here?"

His wealth and his children (etc.) will not benefit him! (Al-Masad 111:2)

He will be burnt in a Fire of blazing flames! (Al-Masad 111:3)

And his wife too, who carries wood (thorns of Sadan which she used to put on the way of the Prophet (Peace be upon him), or use to slander him). (Al-Masad 111:4)

In her neck is a twisted rope of Masad (palm fibre). (Al-Masad 111:5)

Abu Lahab's wife was Arwah Binti Harb bint Umayyah and we call her Umm Jamil

Umm Jamil was the sister of Abu Sufyan
-she was firm in trying to disgrace the Prophet (sallahi 'alayi wa salam)
-this surah came down 10 years before the death of Abu Lahab
-Abu Lahab = the father of the flame (he had a red face
-and a fiery temperament; known for his rage

Abdul Uzza - servant of the idol
-we're not to call ourselves Abdul ________
-(anything other than Allah's 99 names)
-he was steep in his idolatry and paganism

Abu Hurayrah: he was asked by the Prophet, what is your name?
-his name was changed to Abdur Rahman because the Prophet changed his name

Abu Lahab's state was pitiful because of his nickname, Abdul Uzza
-he had 2 sons
-they were married to 2 of the Rasool's daughters
-he told his sons, divorce the daughters of Muhammad (saws)
-they listened to him and divorced their wives
-sanction and embargo [being unleashed against the Rasool]

In early days of Islam,
-it was not haraam for a muslimah to marry a kaafir man
-but we now have this ayah: 60:10

disbelievers, they are not lawful (wives) for the disbelievers nor are the disbelievers lawful (husbands) for them. (Al-Mumtahinah 60:10)

-so then, it was not impermissible to Muhammad's daughters
-to marry Utbah ibn Abu Lahab and Utaybah bin Abu Lahab

Umm Jamil used to put thorns in the road
-where the Rasool (saws) used to walk
-and covered them w/ sand
-she will be in the Hellfire w/ palm-fire wrapped around her neck

Abu Lahab was a rich man and proud and showed off w/ his wealth
-the reason he was calling, is THIS why you called us here?" is
-because he had a shop to keep open
-so to listen about Islam was rubbish to him
-as the people were thinking of embracing Islam, he made an outburst
-he was a pagan and every year when people went to Makkah to hajj,
-he used to sell idols there and make money
-so he didn't want to give up paganism for Islam
-because it would mash-up [destroy] his business
-he didn't want Islam or tawheed
-because it would spoil his commerce [business]
-so he benefited from paganism in the dunya but not the hereafter

He didn't fight @ the Battle of Badr;
-he sent someone to fight on his behalf
-because the man owed him money so this is how he collected his debt
-the kuffaar brought women and wine w/ them, thinking they would celebrate
-a victory but they lost at this battle

Abu Sufyan came to Makkah to tell the Makkkans the news:
-Muhammad (saws) won the battle
-and most of the important men are dead
-Abu Lahab was asking .......... how is that possible?

Abu Rafi was the freed slave on Ibn Abass
-he said those who helped Muhammad (pbuh) were angels
-Abu Lahab got upset and hit Abu Rafi in the face till he fell down
-she picked a pole and hit Abu Lahab in the head and cracked his skull
-this wound developed an infection and he died 1 week later
-when he died, the stench of his body was excruciating
-his sons, Utbah and Utaybah refused to bury him!

The Prophet said the kaafirs hearts are like a cat that is pulling a thread from a ball, unraveling everything

By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; (An-Nazi'at 79:1)

By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); (An-Nazi'at 79:2)

When Abu Lahab died, his stench was so severe

-that Utbah and Utaybah refused to bury him!
-the people of Makkah said, shame on you for not burying your own father!
-so they commanded their servants to throw him over a wall
-[they were rich so ordered them]
-from a distance they threw rocks on his dead body till his body was covered up

1. When you have the haqq,
you should invite your own family 1st
-this is what the Rasool did [he invited Khadijah and Ali and Zayd
-(his adopted son)],
-then he invited uncles
-Hamza, Abu Talib and Abu Lahab
-the Rasool invited his family 1st because of this surah:

O you who believe! Ward off from yourselves and your families a Fire (Hell) whose fuel is men and stones, over which are (appointed) angels stern (and) severe, who disobey not, (from executing) the Commands they receive from Allah, but do that which they are commanded. (At-Tahrim 66:6)

2. The Rasool (saws) used a small piece of meat to feed a large crowd and meat was even left over

3. When you give dawah, its best to feed the person 1st before inviting them to Islam

-this is why Muslims invite Christians to their home
-thousands have embraced Islam this way
-over 450 accepted Islam on Shaikh's recent tour of Africa
-so this is proper etiquette

4. Shirk is a multi-billion dollar business
-why was Abu Lahab so opposed to accepting Islam?
-there were 360 idols that were being sold and the pagans
-didn't want to abandon their idols
-Abu Lahab made money from his kufr
-he thought tawheed would ruin his business;
-he was even called the father of idols

BARELVIS: they say someone becomes a saint when they die
-so they want to collect money to build a monument over his grave
-it's in their interest to say the person is a saint
-so they can collect money on this for many years
-then they are charge you money to make tawaaf
-but they don't say WE CHARGE
-they say WE ARE KEEPERS OF THE GRAVE so they can collect their money
-Sikhs and Hindus go there [Pakistan] and
-there's nothing there to do w/ Islam
-after a few years, they need more money for further upkeep
-and money for a cloth to go over the grave
-they say, "you won't be punished in your grave
-if you provide a cloth for this grave"
-same as Quraysh who said if you don’t' buy uniforms,
-you'll have to make tawaaf naked [even women]
-so these Barelvis commercialize their shirk and kufr

-people in India / Pakistan wrote to him,
-asking him to donate money for these shrines
-so shirk is a multi-billion $ biz
-if you go to Pakistan to preach tawheed, they call us names
-we tell them to stop making tawaaf around the graves
-or giving money for them
-they may even kill you there

No one hates tawheed more than a pagan!
-the Jews and pagans will hate the Islamic ummah the most

Verily, you will find the strongest among men in enmity to the believers (Muslims) the Jews and those who are Al-Mushrikûn and you will find the nearest in love to the believers (Muslims) those who say: "We are Christians." That is because amongst them are priests and monks, and they are not proud. (Al-Ma'idah 5:82)

Siege of Lal Masjid: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siege_of_Lal_Masjid

Their army is a kaafir army
-you think there was only one surah revealed for Abu Lahab?
-he went to the gates of Makkah and selling idols
-he said when you're in there, you'll see my nephew Muhammad, don't listen to him!
-he used propaganda warfare (slandering)

Woe to every slanderer and backbiter. (Al-Humuzah 104:1)

Who has gathered wealth and counted it, (Al-Humuzah 104:2)

He thinks that his wealth will make him last forever! (Al-Humuzah 104:3)

Nay! Verily, he will be thrown into the crushing Fire. (Al-Humuzah 104:4)

And what will make you know what the crushing Fire is? (Al-Humuzah 104:5)

Abu Lahab spewed venom at Muhammad
(sallahi 'alayi wa salam)
-the same way FOX NEWS /SPEWS does
-no one hates tawheed more than a pagan! They call us wahabbi

Who was the greatest enemy of Muhammad (saws)? Abu Lahab
-Iqrimah was an enemy but he changed, so did Abu Sufyan

5. Sometimes our own families turn out to be our greatest enemy when we become a stalwart of Islam

O you who believe! Verily, among your wives and your children there are enemies for you (i.e. may stop you from the obedience of Allah), therefore beware of them! But if you pardon (them) and overlook, and forgive (their faults), then verily, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (At-Taghabun 64:14)

Some wives are men's greatest supporters but "sometimes" they are our greatest enemies

6. Pride prevents people from embracing Islam
-this is what happened to the Pharaoh

And they belied them (those Ayat) wrongfully and arrogantly, though their ownselves were convinced thereof [i.e. those (Ayat) are from Allah, and Mûsa (Moses) is the Messenger of Allah in truth, but they disliked to obey Mûsa (Moses), and hated to believe in his Message of Monotheism]. So see what was the end of the Mufsidûn (disbelievers, disobedient to Allah, evil-doers, liars). (An-Naml 27:14)

Murjia claim eeman is awareness
-they are wrong
-it is NOT enough just to testify w/ your tongue
-the munafiqeen testify w/ their tongue
-we can't marginalize eeman to conviction of the heart
-conviction of the heart, testify w/ your tongue and act w/ your limbs
-so the Murjia are jahil about eeman

Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) reported that the Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Iman has some sixty or seventy branches, the best of which is the declaration that, ‘None has the right to be worshipped but Allah’, and the least of which is the removal of harmful objects from the road, and modesty is a branch of Iman.” [Sahih Bukhari]

When the hypocrites come to you (O Muhammad SAW), they say: "We bear witness that you are indeed the Messenger of Allah." Allah knows that you are indeed His Messenger and Allah bears witness that the hypocrites are liars indeed. (Al-Munafiqun 63:1)

7. Wealth can give you an attitude problem

Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab (an uncle of the Prophet), and perish he! (Al-Masad 111:1)

His wealth and his children (etc.) will not benefit him! (Al-Masad 111:2)

The Holy Messenger of Allah said: “On the night of Mi’raj (ascension) when I stood at the gate of paradise, I observed that the bulk of those who entered it were poor people. The rich people had been refused entry. Thereafter people condemned to hell were ordered to be flung there in, and I noticed that the majority of those who entered it were women”. (Sahih Bukhari (Arabic/English) Vol.6 pg.354 No.373)

Abu Lahab is an example

-he wondered why he needed Islam when he was so rich,
-so he asked "what's in it for me?"
-he wanted status in the dunya
-and he was denied this so he said I will never embrace Islam
-he put a condition on his Shahadah
-he wanted to be on a pedestal, be on a special status
-even Shaikh Faisal saw reserved seats
-for rich people in the community

In the time of Prophet Hud, he was told 'we will listen to you but please drive out poor people'

"And O my people! I ask of you no wealth for it, my reward is from none but Allah. I am not going to drive away those who have believed. Surely, they are going to meet their Lord, but I see that you are a people that are ignorant. (Hud 11:29)

"And O my people! Who will help me against Allah, if I drove them away? Will you not then give a thought? (Hud 11:30)

He said he could not
-because he would suffer the wrath of Allah subhan'wa'tala
-the people said the same thing to Muhammad (sallahi 'alayi wa salam)
-they same thing to Prophet Nuh - because the hearts of the kaafir are alike!

You need a study circle to boost up your eeman
-the same as we charge up our batteries for mobile phones
-so the believers need to be in the company of the ulema
-the Prophets said it's not in their interest to drive the poor people away
-because there is the wealth of Allah (swt) waiting for them

The FREE MASONS who rule the world hate poor people
-they call them scumbags and charge enormous fees for universities
-they have areas where the homes sell for 500,000
-[so scumbags can't be their neighbors]
-they can't live in rich places in the US, for instance
-they are confined to the ghettos
-welfare and the [dole] are only here to prevent riots because

Killing Anwar Awlaki
will not created jobs for the US people
-Pres Obama did this because his approval rating is ONLY @ 35%
-when Clinton left power, there was plenty of money left over
-for a surplus [trillions]
-Bush used that money to invade Somalia, Syria, Afghan, and Iraq
-and 4 other countries they had plans for

Abu Jahl also had an attitude problem
-he saw Abu Bakr feeding poor people and
-he said wouldn't Allah feed them if he wanted to?
-he said let them starve because it's not Allah's qadr for them to eat
-Abu Jahl said he'd never embrace Islam
-because he didn't want to feed poor people w/ his money

And when it is said to them: "Spend of that with which Allah has provided you," those who disbelieve say to those who believe: "Shall we feed those whom, if Allah willed, He (Himself) would have fed? You are only in a plain error." (Ya-Sin 36:47)

8. Every community has its women to support them w/ their cause

The believers, men and women, are Auliya' (helpers, supporters, friends, protectors) of one another, they enjoin (on the people) Al-Ma'rûf (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam orders one to do), and forbid (people) from Al-Munkar (i.e. polytheism and disbelief of all kinds, and all that Islam has forbidden); they perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat) and give the Zakat, and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah will have His Mercy on them. Surely Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise. (At-Tawbah 9:71)

WHO SAVED MUHAMMAD'S life @ the Battle of Uhud?

-Umm Amaara
-she didn't run like the men but she stood up and fought w/ her sword

-Khawla bint al Azwar (she fought on horses, as men did)
-every community has their women who are fervently supporting their community
-not only Islamic communities, but all do [Sikhs, Christians, and such]

-sisters who wear hijabs and niqaab sent him money
-and items and visited him, sent money
-every community has women who support them
-Umm Jamil supported Abu Lahab's paganism
-so Allah 'tala said she will had palm-fiber around her neck in the hellfire

And his wife too, who carries wood (thorns of Sadan which she used to put on the way of the Prophet (Peace be upon him), or use to slander him). (Al-Masad 111:4)

In her neck is a twisted rope of Masad (palm fibre). (Al-Masad 111:5)

When Israelis bombed the nuclear reactor in Iraq,

-how did they know where they were?
-they provided the scientist prostitutes and he was thinking about zina
-so he wrote where the reactor was!
-Abu Lahab envied the Rasool (saws) for his status

9. When you have knowledge and taqwah,
-people will try to destroy you
-the harlot said Haroon paid me a lot of money to destroy your name [Prophet Musa]
-Musa begged Allah 'tala to swallow up not only Haroon but his wealth, too

10. You can't tell Allah 'tala whom to bless
-the kaafirs of Makkah used to say why didn't Allah chose someone else to lead Islam?
-why not choose Walid ibn Mughira who was NOT illiterate, as Muhammad was

But Allah chooses for His Mercy whom He wills. And Allah is the Owner of Great Bounty. (Al-Baqarah 2:105)

11. For every town and city, there are enemies who plot & plan against the truth

And thus We have set up in every town great ones of its wicked people to plot therein. But they plot not except against their ownselves, and they perceive (it) not. (Al-An'am 6:123)

WHO PLOTTED AGAINST THE TRUTH? NIMROD who threw Ibrahim in the fire

12. Every prophet has an enemy

And so We have appointed for every Prophet enemies - Shayatin (devils) among mankind and jinns, inspiring one another with adorned speech as a delusion (or by way of deception). If your Lord had so willed, they would not have done it, so leave them alone with their fabrications. (Al-An'am 6:112)

On that Allah's Apostle said. ‘Some eloquent speech is as effective as magic.' (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 71, Number 662)

13. The Qur'an has predictions [and they always comes to pass as Allah 'tala predicted it]

Alif-Lam-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'an, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. (Ar-Rum 30:1)

The Romans have been defeated. (Ar-Rum 30:2)

In the nearer land (Syria, Iraq, Jordan, and Palestine), and they, after their defeat, will be victorious. (Ar-Rum 30:3)

Within three to nine years. The decision of the matter, before and after (these events) is only with Allah, (before the defeat of Romans by the Persians, and after, i.e. the defeat of the Persians by the Romans). And on that Day, the believers (i.e. Muslims) will rejoice (at the victory given by Allah to the Romans against the Persians), (Ar-Rum 30:4)

The Muslims cheered for the Christians

-in the battle between the Persians and the Romans
-but Surah Rum was revealed to cheer up the ummah
-but the Romans will fight the Persians again when the Romans will win the battle

Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab (an uncle of the Prophet), and perish he! (Al-Masad 111:1)

His wealth and his children (etc.) will not benefit him! (Al-Masad 111:2)

His kaafir brother told Abu Lahab to embrace Islam
-but why would they say this?
-this is the million dollar question
-but they said this so they would try to make the Qur'an sound like a false book
-they begged him to embrace Islam
-all he had to do was embrace Islam and then the world
-would see the Qur'an as a false book

14. The Sunnah of Allah is to mention the criminals by their names
-if the criminal is an icon for shirk, heresy and hypocrisy,
-you must mention them by name
-when Yusuf Qaradawi made a fatawa its ok to join the kuffaar army
-and go to Afghan to fight the ummah there
-it was fine for Abu Baseer to make takfir on Qaradawi
-there is no backbiting for a wicked scholar

Abu Dhar said, "I was with the Prophet (SAW) one day and I heard him saying: "There is something I fear for my Ummah than the Dajjal." It was then that I became afraid, so I said: “Oh Rasool Allah! Which thing is that?" He (SAW) said; "Misguided and astray scholars." Recorded in Musnad Imam Ahmad (no.21
- 334 and no.21 - 335)

Quran Evidence >>>> Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab (an uncle of the Prophet), and perish he! (Al-Masad 111:1)

Except those who repent and do righteous deeds, and openly declare (the truth which they concealed). These, I will accept their repentance. And I am the One Who accepts repentance, the Most Merciful. (Al-Baqarah 2:160)

The taubah of a shaikh or scholar must be made publicly

-and seek forgiveness publicly
-if he commits adultery, he can make taubah private
-but if he makes adultery halal, then he must make taubah from that PUBLICLY

15. People find comfort in kufr
-this is why Abu Lahab died as a kaafir
-old people are set in their ways
-they don't want to give up the girls, eating pork, alcohol,
-they say Islam is too restrictive

And most of mankind will not believe even if you desire it eagerly. (Yusuf 12:103)
