Tafseer enters the hearts of people.
- Allah said

Ta¬Sin. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'an, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. These are the Verses of the Qur'an, and (it is) a Book (that makes things) clear; (An-Naml 27:1)

- these letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'an
- and only Allah knows their meaning
- you should accept this Tafseer
- because if you do not you will speak of what you do not know

Jundub ibn Abdullah (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, “If any one speaks on the Qur’an giving his own opinion and even if he is correct, he has done wrong.” [Sunan at-Tirmdhi (Vol. 5, pg.201) No. 2953, Sunan Abu Dawud (Vol. 2, pg. 344) No. 3652]

The Mu'tazila try to unravel the meaning of this letters
- but they are guessing
- this Surah was revealed in Mecca
- because it begins with letters

The only Surah which is the exception is Surah Baqara and Al Imran
-they both begin with letters but were Madani

Alif-Lam-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'an and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. (Al-Baqarah 2:1)

Alif-Lam-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'an, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. (Aali Imran 3:1)

- another clue to tell you this Surah is Makki is that it talks about previous prophets
- they focus on history
- but Madani Surahs are on the Shariah

These are the Verses of the Qur'an, and (it is) a Book (that makes things) clear; (An-Naml 27:1)

Allah used the word MUBEEN
- meaning clear
- so why do we have 4 schools of thought
- we will never accept the Jafar school of thought

Thawban (RA) reported that the Prophet (SAW) said, ‘The woman who seeks divorce from her husband for no reason will not even smell the fragrance of Paradise.” [Tirmidhi 1191, Ahmed 22442, Abu Dawud 2226, Ibn e Majah 2055]

- the literalist
- she won’t smell the paradise while she is in paradise

Mughirah ibn Shu’bah (RA) said that he proposed to a woman. So, the Prophet (SAW) said to him, “Look at her. That would strengthen your love for one another”. [Tirmidhi 1089, Ahmed 18160, Nisai 3237, Ibn e Majah 1865]

-Abu Hanifa -you can look at her face and hands
-Its better to stick with the 4 schools of thought because people try to go outside the box
-It is compulsory on you to have a expert of Fiqh
-it's compulsory to have an expert to teach you Aqeedah

So ask of those who know the Scripture [learned men of the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)], if you know not. (An-Nahl 16:43)

We have 4 schools of thought because:
-because people do not think alike
-when the scholars read the hadith the Angel Jibril came and sat by the prophet
-the scholars differed

Umar (RA) ibn al-Khattab (RA) said that they were with Allah’s Messenger (SAW) when a man came wearing extremely white clothing and deep black hair but signs of a journey could not be detected on him nor could they recognise him as one of them. He came to the Prophet (SAW) and sat down beside him, his knees touching the Prophet’s (SAW). He asked “O Muhammad, what is faith”?...[Bukhari 47, Muslim 4, Tirmidhi 2619, Abu Dawud 4695, Nisai 5005, Ibn Majah 63, Ahmed 184]

1. The Angel touched his thigh

2. Imam Shafi said no it was the thigh of the rasul he placed his hand
-The Hanbalis said no the thigh is awra
-but the Shaffi'i said it is not

When Allah said touch women:
-Ahmad said it means to have sex
-Shafa'i said it means to touch the woman
-by just brushing on her

These are the Verses of the Qur'an, and (it is) a Book (that makes things) clear; (An-Naml 27:1)

A guide (to the Right Path); and glad tidings for the believers [who believe in the Oneness of Allah (i.e. Islamic Monotheism)]. (An-Naml 27:2)

-The Quran is a guide and bringer of glad tidings
-So even though the Qur'an is clear the scholars still differ
-if you touch a woman accidentally your wudu is not broken
-but if intentional then its broken
-so Ahmad's opinion is the most accurate

How do you know you are on Hidaya?
1. your Aqeedah
2. Fiqh
3. Manhaj

These 3 things have to be right
-your Aqeedah has to be that of ASWJ
-you cant be of a deviant sect
-you have to believe in Jihad, Shariah and Khilafah
-you can not preach the Mujahideen are khawaarij
-and in darul harb you call for Tawheed
-you want to establish Shariah then go to the Middle East
-3 men in derby were convicted for handing out gay leaflets

Sharia law controlled zones in British cities:

-leave them alone and go to a Muslim country
-you love the comfort of the West that is why you do not want to make hijrah
-you are throwing silver and diamonds to the swine
-they are miles away from Shariah
-give them Tawheed first
-how can you give the people of the UK who are atheist Tawheed first
-they the kufaar are
-your Manhaj has to be jihaad fe-sabillilah
-the prophet (SAW) said a believer is not bit in the same hole twice

A believer is not bitten from the same hole twice.” (Related by Bukhari, Muslim, Ahmad, Abu Dawood and Ibn Majah)

The Messenger (S.A.W.) told us in an authentic hadith , “The first thing the people will be accountable for on the Day of Judgment is prayer, Allah will say to His angels (even though he already knows) : “Look at my servants prayers. Were they complete or not?” If they were complete It will be written as complete. If they were not fully complete Allah will say: “See if my servant has voluntary prayers, If he has them Allah will say: Complete his obligatory prayers shortage with his voluntary prayers.” Then the rest of his deeds will be dealt with in the same manner.” [Reported by Imams Ahmad, Abu Dawood, An-Nisa'i, and Al-Hakim]

-the first thing you will be asked about on the day of judgement day is you Salaah

Those who perform As¬Salat (Iqamat¬as¬Salat) and give Zakat and they believe with certainty in the Hereafter (resurrection, recompense of their good and bad deeds, Paradise and Hell, etc.). (An-Naml 27:3)

Verily, those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have made their deeds fair-seeming to them, so they wander about blindly. (An-Naml 27:4)

-if you do not pay Zakah a snake will wrap around you in your grave

"Whoever is made wealthy by Allah and does not pay the Zakat of his wealth, then on the Day of Resurrection his wealth will be made like a bald-headed poisonous male snake with two black spots over the eyes. The snake will encircle his neck and bite his cheeks and say, 'I am your wealth, I am your treasure.' [Bukhari Volume 2, Book 24, Number 486]

Allah called Himself We
-the Christians say whenever Allah talks about We in the Quran
-he is talking about Him, son and holy spirit
-it is haram to take your Deen from them
-the We that Allah is talking about is majesty and power
-not the trinity, so do not think that
-some people call it the royal We

Verily! We have sent it (this Qur'an) down in the night of Al-Qadr (Decree) (Al-Qadr 97:1)

- whenever a person does not believe in Aakhirah
- his life is beautified
- every sinner has a justification for what he's doing
- they are like headless chicken

Verily, those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have made their deeds fair-seeming to them, so they wander about blindly. (An-Naml 27:4)

- there situation is pitiful appalling and pathetic

They are those for whom there will be an evil torment (in this world). And in the Hereafter they will be the greatest losers. (An-Naml 27:5)

- they are losers because their destiny is the hellfire
- Allah called the Day Of Judgment the day of lost and gain ( yammun Taghaabun)
- they'll suffer a miserable life

"But whosoever turns away from My Reminder (i.e. neither believes in this Qur'an nor acts on its orders, etc.) verily, for him is a life of hardship, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Resurrection." (Ta-Ha 20:124)

- that’s why you have all these mental diseases
- there are many mad houses in the West
- pharmacies make a lot of money in the West
- they suffer from mental and physical diseases
- the Evil torment that Allah is talking about here are
- diseases, humiliating defeat at the hands of the Mujahideen
- and that the angel of death will pull out their souls viciously

By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; (An-Nazi'at 79:1)

- it also means punishment in the grave
- because the angels will question you
- and you don’t know the answers
- so their azaab are many
- many of them are dying from kidney failure, lung cancer etc
- because of their life style

...who holds in his hand a hammer, if a mountain is hit with it, it would disintegrate, and he will beat him with it until he becomes dust, and then Allah will render him to his initial form, and he will beat him again, and he (the wicked) will cry of sorrow and pain a cry that will be heard by all creatures except humans and jinn, and a door of hell will be opened unto him within his grave and will spread out for him sheets of hell fire]". Then he shall say: "My Lord do not bring the hour". [This hadith is narrated by Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, Abu Dawud, Ibn Majah, at-Tayalisi, and al-Hakim who said it is according to the standards of Bukhari and Muslim. This text is the text of Ahmad, all text between brackets is from the other narrators and other narrations of Ahmad]

- the All-Wise and the All- Knowing is Allah

And verily, you (O Muhammad SAW) are receiving the Qur'an from the One, All-Wise, All-Knowing. (An-Naml 27:6)

- there is no mistake in the Quran

Do they not then consider the Qur'an carefully? Had it been from other than Allah, they would surely have found therein much contradictions. (An-Nisa 4:82)

- Musa (AS) was not a wimp

(Remember) when Mûsa (Moses) said to his household: "Verily! I have seen a fire, I will bring you from there some information, or I will bring you a burning brand, that you may warm yourselves." (An-Naml 27:7)

- he was a brave man
- because he wanted to go and see what fire this was
- this also tells you that the desert can be cold

- that’s why Musa needed the fire to warm themselves
- another lesson is that he was close to his wife
- she recommended to her father to hire him
- because he lowered his gaze

But when he came to it, he was called: "Blessed is whosoever is in the fire, and whosoever is round about it! And glorified be Allah, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). (An-Naml 27:8)

- it is Musa was the one in the fire
- so Allah was talking about him
- he is blessed
- Allah was preparing him for prophet-hood
- He (swt) blessed him with a good character
- like the rasul (saw) he was called Al Amin by the kufaar of makkah
- because of his character
- when you are a dai’ee you can’t do haram
Allah (swt) washed the heart of Muhammad (saw)

Have We not opened your breast for you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))? (Ash-Sharh 94:1)

- and put imaan in his heart
- even after Allah blessed Musa (a.s)
- Qaarun slandered him
- he paid a prostitute to say he had an affair with her
- Musa didn’t panic
- he made a dua and the earth swallowed him up and his wealth

"O Mûsa (Moses)! Verily! It is I, Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. (An-Naml 27:9)

- Allah spoke to Musa and he could hear Allah loud and clear
- so those who say otherwise do not belong to ASWJ
- a man lost his life for denying this

'Abdur-Rahmaan Ibn Muhammad Ibn Habeeb Ibn Abee Habeeb on the authority of his father, on the authority of his grandfather [who] said:I witnessed Khaalid Ibn 'Abdullah Al-Qasree - and he addressed them at Waasit - "Oh People, make sacrifice, may Allah accept it from you. Verily I am sacrificing Al-Ja'd Ibn Dirham, for indeed he claims that Allah did not take Ibrahim as a khaleel (close friend), and [that] He did not speak to Moosa. Most Perfect is He and exalted is He from what Al-Ja'd says." Then he descended and slaughtered him. I say: And the Jahmiyyah and Mu'tazilah speak with this, and they distort the text of the revelation regarding that, and they claim that the Lord is purified of that [i.e. having spoken to Moses and taken Ibrahim as a khalil] Mukhtasar al-Uluww" of adh-Dhahabi, (p.133)

"And throw down your stick!" But when he saw it moving as if it were a snake, he turned in flight, and did not look back. (It was said): "O Mûsa (Moses)! Fear not, verily! The Messengers fear not in front of Me. (An-Naml 27:10)

- he threw the stick and it became a snake
- and he ran in fright
- this tells us that its a natural instinct to fear a snake
- if the stick you use to look after your flock
- turns to a snake is very frightening
- that’s why he ran away and did not look back
- Allah (swt) told him not to be afraid
- a python tried to swallow a man but choked to death

Giant python snake swallows a man then chokes to death:

- a snake will swallow a baby
- but a dog will look after a baby
- there is a girl that was taken care of and brought up by dogs

Siberian child 'raised by dogs':

Feral child:

Saalim ibn Abdullah reported from his father that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, “Kill snakes. Also kill those snakes that have black spots on their back. Also kill the snakes with tiny tails because both of them harm eye sight and cause miscarriage.” [al-Bukhari (3297) and Muslim (2233), Tirmidhi (1488)]

- but if you see them say audhu billahi mina shaitani rajim
- then kill it

Abu Sa’eed Khudri (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, “In your homes are house-snakes. Warn them three times but if they are seen after that then kill them.” [Tirmidhi 1489, Muslim 2236]

...When he was there, the youth came and asked his permission, saying, "Messenger of Allah. Give me permission to return to my family." The Messenger of Allah (SAW), gave him permission and said, "Take your weapons with you, for I fear the Banu Quraydha tribe. They may harm you." The youth went to his family and found his wife standing between the two doors.
He lifted his spear to stab her as jealousy had been aroused in him. She said, "Don't be hasty until you go in and see what is in your house." He entered and found a snake coiled up on his bed. He transfixed it with his spear and then went out with it and pitched it into the house. The snake stirred on the end of the spear and the youth fell dead. No one knew which of them
died first, the snake or the youth. That was mentioned to the Messenger of Allah (SAW), and he said, "There are jinn in Madina who have become muslim. When you see one of them, call out to it for three days. If it appears after that, then kill it, for it is a shaytan." [Ibn Majah 54:12.33, Sahih Muslim 26:5557, Maliks Muwatta 54.33]

-there are snakes that will spit in your eyes

"Except him who has done wrong and afterwards has changed evil for good, then surely, I am Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (An-Naml 27:11)

"And put your hand into your bosom, it will come forth white without hurt. (These are) among the nine signs (you will take) to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and his people, they are a people who are the Fasiqûn (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). (An-Naml 27:12)

- the rod was sign that he'll take to the people of Egypt
- the flood, blood (river Nile becoming blood)
- famine, the frog are all signs to the people of Egypt
- the Pharaoh believed in these signs in his heart
- but rebelled outwardly

But when Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) came to them, clear to see, they said: "This is a manifest magic." (An-Naml 27:13)

And they belied them (those Ayat) wrongfully and arrogantly, though their ownselves were convinced thereof [i.e. those (Ayat) are from Allah, and Mûsa (Moses) is the Messenger of Allah in truth, but they disliked to obey Mûsa (Moses), and hated to believe in his Message of Monotheism]. So see what was the end of the Mufsidûn (disbelievers, disobedient to Allah, evil-doers, liars.). (An-Naml 27:14)

- so the signs that Allah gave to Musa convinced the pharaoh
- but rejected faith in the name of pride
- so pride is a serious thing
- it is the same thing that caused Nimrod, Abu Jahl, Abu Lahab to reject the truth

1. rod turning in to a snake
2. the radiant hand of Prophet Musa
3. year of drought
4. the flood
5. human and animal pandemic
6. locusts
7. lice
8. frogs
9. blood

- these signs convinced the pharaoh

It Is narrated on the authority of Abdullah b. Mas'ud that the Apostle of Allah (SAW), observed: He who has in his heart the weight of a mustard seed of pride shall not enter Paradise. A person (amongst his hearers) said: Verily a person loves that his dress should be fine, and his shoes should be fine. He (the Holy Prophet) remarked: Verily, Allah is Graceful and He loves Grace. Pride is disdaining the truth (out of self-conceit) and contempt for the people. [Sahih Muslim, Book 1, Hadith #0164]

And indeed We gave knowledge to Dawûd (David) and Sulaiman (Solomon), and they both said: "All the praises and thanks be to Allah, Who has preferred us above many of His believing slaves!" (An-Naml 27:15)

- he took his shahada but it was too late then

And Sulaiman (Solomon) inherited (the knowledge of) Dawûd (David). He said: "O mankind! We have been taught the language of birds, and on us have been bestowed all things. This, verily, is an evident grace (from Allah)." (An-Naml 27:16)

Narrated By 'Aisha: The Prophet said, "Our (Apostles') property should not be inherited, and whatever we leave, is to be spent in charity." [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 8, Book 80, Hadith #719]

- Abu Bakr(RA) oppressed Fatima (RA)
- by not giving her any inheritance
- because Sulayman inherited from Dawud
- but what he inherited was knowledge not dunya
- because Dawud was poor and Sulayman was rich
- they are so evil
- they have their own tafsir of the Quran
- to deceive unsuspecting Muslims

"And Verily! I fear my relatives after me, since my wife is barren. So give me from Yourself an heir, (Maryam 19:5)

"Who shall inherit me, and inherit (also) the posterity of Ya'qûb (Jacob) (inheritance of the religious knowledge and Prophethood, not the wealth, etc.). And make him, my Lord, one with whom You are Well-pleased!". (Maryam 19:6)

- Zakariyya was worried about a heir
- not to inherit his wealth
- but to inherit the prophet-hood
- and religious knowledge
- they will always talk about this issue

And indeed We gave knowledge to Dawûd (David) and Sulaiman (Solomon), and they both said: "All the praises and thanks be to Allah, Who has preferred us above many of His believing slaves!" (An-Naml 27:15)

- the lesson learnt from this ayah is that
- you need to be grateful when you are blessed with something

All in the heavens and earth and the fish in the depth of the water seek forgiveness for the scholar, and the superiority of the scholar over the worshipper is like the superiority of the full moon at night over the rest of the stars. Verily the scholars are the heirs to the Prophets. Verily, the Prophets did not bequeath Deenars or dirhams. All they left behind was knowledge, so whoever takes it, has indeed acquired a huge fortune. [Musnad Ahmad (v5/p196) #21763; Also related by Abu Dawud (v2/p341) #3641; at-Tirmidhi (v5/p48) #2682; Ibn Majah (v1/p150) #223, ad-Daarimee (v1/p110) #342 and ibn Hibbaan (v1/p289) #88]

- the knowledge they had elevated them above the rest of the people

And Sulaiman (Solomon) inherited (the knowledge of) Dawûd (David). He said: "O mankind! We have been taught the language of birds, and on us have been bestowed all things. This, verily, is an evident grace (from Allah)." (An-Naml 27:16)

- sometimes when Allah blessed someone with knowledge
- it causes jealousy
- and they ask why did Allah give him the knowledge
- when Allah chose Muhammad to be his prophet
- others became jealous

...But Allah chooses for His Mercy whom He wills. And Allah is the Owner of Great Bounty. (Al-Baqarah 2:105)

- you do not tell Allah who to bless
- you quit your envy
- else perish in your envy

And there were gathered before Sulaiman (Solomon) his hosts of jinns and men, and birds, and they all were set in battle order (marching forwards). (An-Naml 27:17)

- the lesson learned here is that jihad was compulsory even before Muhammad (SAW) was born
- the party of Allah and the party of Shaitan have been fighting since forever
- the early prophets all fought jihad
- the only difference was that the booty was haram for them

Narrates by Ibn Omar: "the Prophet said: "I was sent by the sword proceeding the judgment day and my livelihood is in the shadow of my spear and humiliation and submission are on those who disobey me" [Musnad Imam Ahmed (vol. 2, p. 50)]

- why were’nt the horses present?
- because he said he would never play with horses again
- because he missed salaatul ‘Asr
- when he said wallahi, he would not play with the horses
- Allah replaced them with Jinns
- another lesson learned is that animals can be taken to the battle
- horses are still used in the battlefield
- because the vehicles make a lot of noise
- the dog, rats, dolphins etc. all used

- rats are used to find landmines
- so when Sulayman took animals to the battlefield
- he was not the 1st and wont be the last
- even though you despise rats
- they are used to search for landmines
- and save a lot of lives
- it's painful to live without legs
- because of land mines
- rats are very clever

Till, when they came to the valley of the ants, one of the ants said: "O ants! Enter your dwellings, lest Sulaiman (Solomon) and his hosts crush you, while they perceive not." (An-Naml 27:18)

- the lessons learned are that the ant was a female, acting upon a motherly instinct
- so a good mother loves all her kids, not just one
- the other is that animals have their own language
- she was also acting upon taqwa
- there was brotherhood and sisterhood, she was not selfish
- animals can recognize people because she mentioned Sulayman's name
- you are allowed to kill animals deliberately without any cause
- you can spray them when they are in your home because then they are pests
- there is safety and security when you live among your own
- these ants were living together in their colony
- the rasul (SAW) had different regiments in the battlefield
- the Makkan, the Aws and Khazraj
- to minimise mistakes this was wisdom because you know each other
- one mistake on the battlefield is too many
- even human beings do that, every neighborhood in London has a certain type of people
- living there
- they live among there own people
- you have protection when you live among your own

So he [Sulaiman (Solomon)] smiled, amused at her speech and said: "My Lord! Inspire and bestow upon me the power and ability that I may be grateful for Your Favours which You have bestowed on me and on my parents, and that I may do righteous good deeds that will please You, and admit me by Your Mercy among Your righteous slaves." (An-Naml 27:19)

1. knowledge brings you joy and happiness

2. ignorance makes you sad
- he smiled because he understood the language of the ant

3. Taqwa helps you recognise the Barakah of Allah

4. No Taqwa causes ungratefulness
- the first thing he did was to thank Allah
- when he heard the ant
- the kaafir will always boast

5. he mentioned his father who is in the grave
- so you need pious kids to pray for you
- whilst you are in the grave

The Prophet (SAW) said: "When a person dies, all his deeds come to an end except three: sadaqah jaariyah (ongoing charity, e.g. a waqf or endowment), beneficial knowledge (which he has left behind), or a righteous child who will pray for him." (Reported by al-Tirmidhi, no 1376; he said this is a saheeh hasan hadeeth)

Inspire and bestow upon me the power and ability that I may be grateful for Your Favours which You have bestowed on me and on my parents, and that I may do righteous good deeds that will please You, and admit me by Your Mercy among Your righteous slaves." (An-Naml 27:19)

6. not everyone uses baraka in the right way
- Sulayman asked Allah to help him use the knowledge the right way

He says (boastfully): "I have wasted wealth in abundance!" (Al-Balad 90:6)

Thinks he that none sees him? (Al-Balad 90:7)

- the kaafir (ungrateful) will boast when he looses 0.5m in gambling

7. a man with knowledge without Taqwa
- is a recipe for disaster
- he is a Shaitan
- even a scholar can be a Shaitan
- if he uses his knowledge to cement to throne the apostate leaders

Abu Dhar said, "I was with the Prophet (SAW) one day and I heard him saying: "There is something I fear for my Ummah than the Dajjal." It was then that I became afraid, so I said: " Oh Rasool Allah! Which thing is that?" He (SAW) said; "Misguided and astray scholars." Recorded in Musnad Imam Ahmad (no.21,334 and no.21,335)

- the barakah of money will also be misused
- if the holder has no taqwa
- a handsome man or beautiful woman without Taqwa
- is a Shaitan
- so do not marry only for beauty but taqwa as well
- if you have evil companions
- you are destroyed
- the rasul had pious companions
- so they were ready for jihad
- they did not say you and your Lord go and fight
- an evil companion is the worst thing

"Ah! Woe to me! Would that I had never taken so-and-so as a friend! (Al-Furqan 25:28)

"My Lord! Inspire and bestow upon me the power and ability that I may be grateful for Your Favours which You have bestowed on me and on my parents, and that I may do righteous good deeds that will please You, and admit me by Your Mercy among Your righteous slaves." (An-Naml 27:19)

The Prophet (saw) said: “A man will follow the religion of his close friend, so let each of you look to who he takes a close friend.” (Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi, 2378)

And whoso obeys Allah and the Messenger (Muhammad SAW), then they will be in the company of those on whom Allah has bestowed His Grace, of the Prophets, the Siddiqûn (those followers of the Prophets who were first and foremost to believe in them, like Abu Bakr As¬Siddiq), the martyrs, and the righteous. And how excellent these companions are! (An-Nisa 4:69)

1. to be thankful
2. bless my parents
3. to use the barakah for righteous deeds
4. good companion

He inspected the birds, and said: "What is the matter that I see not the hoopoe? Or is he among the absentees? (An-Naml 27:20)

-Sulayman inspected the birds but did not see the Hoopoe

-animals can be used in the battlefield
-even rats and dolphins are used
-the rats are been trained for sniffing landmines

-and the dolphin used to look for mines
-birds are used to transport messages
-horses are used and Allah puts barakah in horses used for war

Abu Hurayrah reported that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, The horses have good tied in their forelocks till the Day of Resurrection. The horse has three things: It is for man a reward. It is for man a screen (of defects). And it is for man a burden (which is a cause of sin and Punishment). As for the one for whom it is reward, he uses it for Allah’s cause, prepares it for that so it is for him a reward. Nothing will go in its belly but Allah will record for him a reward. [Bukhari 2860, Tirmidhi 1642]

So Sulayman did the inspection himself
-sometimes you give people work to do, but they do not do it properly
-so if you are an effective leader you make sure you inspect the task done
-Sulayman inspected himself because the Hoopoe was an important animal

"I will surely punish him with a severe torment, or slaughter him, unless he brings me a clear reason." (An-Naml 27:21)

(I will surely punish him with a severe torment) Al-A'mash said, narrating from Al-Minhal bin 'Amr from Sa'id that Ibn Abbas said: "He meant, by plucking his feathers." 'Abdullah bin Shaddad said: "By plucking his feathers and exposing him to the sun." This was also the view of more than one of the Salaf, that means plucking his feathers and leaving him exposed to be eaten by ants. (or slaughter him,) means, killing him. (unless he brings me a clear reason.) i.e. a valid excuse, Sufyan bin 'Uyaynah and 'Abdullah bin Shaddad said: "When the hoopoe came back, the other birds said to him: "What kept you Sulayman has vowed to shed your blood." The hoopoe said: "Did he make any exception (did he say 'unless') They said, "Yes, he said: (I will surely punish him with a severe torment or slaughter him, unless he brings me a clear reason.)" The hoopoe said, "Then I am saved." [Tafseer Ibn Kathir, (2nd Edition: 2009), Volume 7, page 115-116, Juz' 19 (Part 19): Al-Furqan 21 to An-Naml 55]

-Sulayman said he will punish the Hoopoe himself or even slaughter it
-if it can’t give him a good reason for being absent
-but Allah said the hoopoe was not even far away

-punctuality is very crucial in the battlefield
-one minute late is too many seconds and it can cost lives
-everything has to be organised
-ibn Abbas said the punishment would have been plucking its feathers

1000s of people are sacked from their jobs because of late coming
-and it is not good to go to work late because you upset your boss

Leaders do not like their subordinates to be late
-and Allah said the believers are shepherds of their amanah

It was narrated from Ibn ‘Umar that the Prophet (SAW) said: “Each of you is a shepherd and each of you is responsible for his flock. The ruler is a shepherd and is responsible for his flock; the man is the shepherd of his family members and is responsible for them; the woman is the shepherd of her husband’s house and children and is responsible for them; the slave is the shepherd of his master’s wealth and is responsible for it. Each of you is a shepherd and each of you is responsible for his flock.” [al-Bukhari #853 and Muslim #1829]

Those who are faithfully true to their Amanat (all the duties which Allah has ordained, honesty, moral responsibility and trusts etc.)[] and to their covenants; (Al-Mu'minun 23:8)

-so if you promise someone to arrive at 9 you should not arrive at 10
-sometimes it is not under your control to be late
-many times you are under the tube and there is a breakdown
-so you’re late coming sometimes can’t be controlled
-you may have a flat tyre and the spare is also flat and you are in the middle of no where

So even though you like to be punctual because you are polite
-sometimes you will arrive late
-but to being in the habit of arriving late all the time is bad
-and you have a problem of disorganisation
-and you lack the ability of time management
-and you can’t be trusted

Allah said the bird was not even far away
-so his late coming was not very bad
-so why was Sulayman very worried

But the hoopoe stayed not long, he (came up and) said: "I have grasped (the knowledge of a thing) which you have not grasped and I have come to you from Saba' (Sheba) with true news. (An-Naml 27:22)

Ibn Abbas said the hoopoe was a water expert
-and he used to detect where water was under the ground
-and the jinns will dig it up

-prophets and messengers have emotions
-sometimes they are happy, sad or angry
-sometimes the prophet will get so angry and sometimes he would laugh
-in Bukhari it tells us the prophet cried sometimes

Anas bin Malik reported that: The Messenger of Allah (S.A.W.) entered the room and we accompanied him... And Ibrahim breathed his last. The eyes of Allah's Messenger (S.A.W.) were filled with tears. Abdur Rehman Ibne Auf said: 'you are weeping, O Messenger of Allah (S.A.W.)'. He (S.A.W.) replied: "Ibne Auf, This is mercy". Then he (S.A.W.) said: "Our eyes shed tears and our hearts are filled with grief, but we do not say anything except that by which Allah is pleased. O, Ibrahim we are sorrowful due to your separation." narration has been mentioned in Sahih Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Sunan Abi Dawood and Sunan Ibne Majah

-like when his son Ibraheem died
-and he said he did that because he loved his son
-so Sulayman went through emotions like everyone else and became very upset

"I have grasped (the knowledge of a thing) which you have not grasped and I have come to you from Saba' (Sheba) with true news. (An-Naml 27:22)

-the bird said: I have knowledge that which you do not have

-prophets do not have knowledge of the unseen
-the incident occurred in Yemen, so how could Sulayman know about it?
-so the bird said I have knowledge which is certain

Another lesson is the importance of keeping in touch with current events on the ground
-so the people that say fiqhul waqia is not important like the MADkhalis
-if it was not important,
-why did the bird go to Yemen to inspect the palace and give full report to Sulayman?
-and Allah saw it so important that He told us about it

So when you meet the Saudi Salafis tell them this incident
-ask them why the bird inspected the palace in Yemen and gave Sulayman full report

"...The best of the speech is embodied in the Book of Allah, and the best of the guidance is the guidance given by Muhammad. And the most evil affairs are their innovations; and every innovation is error..." (Sahih Muslim, 1885)

-how can they refute you when you use Qur'an to debate them?
-it is the best speech so always use Qur'an to checkmate them because they can not deny it

"I found a woman ruling over them, and she has been given all things that could be possessed by any ruler of the earth, and she has a great throne. (An-Naml 27:23)

-the bird is now reporting what it found
-it said I found a woman with a mighty throne, ruling over her people
-it used the word TAMLIK, it means to possess
-so she possessed her subordinates, she owned them

The reason why it used this word is because
-whenever you do not obey Allah and worship the creation
-you become a slave to the other human being or desires
-so the bird said she owned her people

"I found her and her people worshipping the sun instead of Allah, and Shaitan (Satan) has made their deeds fair-seeming to them, and has barred them from (Allah's) Way, so they have no guidance," (An-Naml 27:24)

-the bird said it found them worshipping the sun
-and Shaytan made their deeds fair seeming to them

-the bird knew Tauheed and every living thing knows that only Allah deserves to be worshipped
-only man and Jinn refuses

see 61:1

Whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is on the earth glorifies Allah. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. (As-Saff 61:1)

-Allah said everything in the heaven and on earth worship Allah
-so all the animals and even the birds are Muslim
-so when the birds found the people worshipping the sun in Yemen
-it complained to Sulayman

The bird was shocked because it knows that only Allah deserves to be worshipped
-He is the Mighty the Wise

The bird said it was Shaytan that beautified their deeds to them
-how can someone worship a piece of stone or wood and find justification for it?
-and these people hate Muslims a lot
-because your Aqeedah checkmates them and make them look stupid

see 5:82

Verily, you will find the strongest among men in enmity to the believers (Muslims) the Jews and those who are Al-Mushrikûn (see V.2:105), and you will find the nearest in love to the believers (Muslims) those who say: "We are Christians." That is because amongst them are priests and monks, and they are not proud. (Al-Ma'idah 5:82)

Allah said in this ayah that those that hate the Muslims most are the Jews and idol worshippers
-a Jewish bus crashed into a car and Palestinian children died

-and the Jews were celebrating and said less terrorist
-how can you celebrate the death of kids?
-and when the prophet (SAW)'s son died
-the pagans were rejoicing and said he was cut off from all future hope
-and Allah revealed the ayah that they were abtar

Verily, We have granted you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) Al-Kauthar (a river in Paradise); (Al-Kawthar 108:1)

Therefore turn in prayer to your Lord and sacrifice (to Him only). (Al-Kawthar 108:2)

For he who makes you angry (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), - he will be cut off (from every good thing in this world and in the Hereafter). (Al-Kawthar 108:3)

Another lesson you learn is that even animals know about the web of the Shaytan
-the people that commit shirk are under his web and it was his plot

Another lesson is that the bird said she has a mighty throne
-this means the bird did not stay outside the palace
-it went inside and was thorough with its inspection

Why was it thorough?
-this is because Sulayman does not know what is happening in Yemen
-so he will depend on the bird to tell him everything happening in Yemen
-because prophets do not have knowledge of the unseen
-so it will not want to be asked questions by Sulayman and it can’t answer

Sometimes a person will tell you my friend is selling a car
-and yet they can not tell you anything about the car
-this person is a lousy messenger
-he can’t tell you about the type of car, whether automatic or manual etc

The bird did not want to be a lousy messenger
-so it went inside and inspected meticulously
-and so said I have information with Yaqeen (certainty)

Ayah 25

Al-La (this word has two interpretations) (A) [As Shaitan (Satan) has barred them from Allah's Way] so that they do not worship (prostrate before) Allah, or (B) So that they may worship (prostrate before) Allah, Who brings to light what is hidden in the heavens and the earth, and knows what you conceal and what you reveal. [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 19, Page 149] (An-Naml 27:25)

Allah, La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the Lord of the Supreme Throne! (An-Naml 27:26)

When the bird was speaking Sulayman did not interrupt
-this shows he had good manners
-so prophets have good manners
see 68:4

And verily, you (O Muhammad SAW) are on an exalted standard of character. (Al-Qalam 68:4)

-it spoke until it finished before he spoke

[Sulaiman (Solomon)] said: "We shall see whether you speak the truth or you are (one) of the liars. (An-Naml 27:27)

-Sulayman said we shall see if you are speaking the truth or you are a liar
-when you hear news you should verify it

see 49:6

O you who believe! If a rebellious evil person comes to you with a news, verify it, lest you harm people in ignorance, and afterwards you become regretful to what you have done. (Al-Hujurat 49:6)

Sulayman was acting on prophetic character
-so he said he will verify the message first
-what a noble character

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (SAW) said: “It is enough sin for a man to speak of everything that he hears.” [Sahih Muslim, Vol. 1, pg. 10]

Many of you are quick to accept what you hear about your enemies
-especially if it is something bad
-bad news travel around the world 100 times before good news
-and bad news sells better than good news on the papers
-people like to spread gossip because they find it exciting

Any Tabloid newspaper sells faster than the rest
-it’s a newspaper specialised in gossip, talking about people's affairs

So Human beings like gossip
-but the Qur'an was revealed to help you have good character
-like what Sulayman said to the bird

"Go you with this letter of mine, and deliver it to them, then draw back from them, and see what (answer) they return." (An-Naml 27:28)

He gave a letter for the messenger to take
-this is called a chess game
-you make your move and I make mine
-until someone gets checkmated, so Sulayman is going to make the first move
-and he asked the messenger to draw back and see what they will do
-Bilqees was the queen with a mighty throne and was given everything

She said: "O chiefs! Verily! Here is delivered to me a noble letter, (An-Naml 27:29)

"Verily! It is from Sulaiman (Solomon), and verily! It (reads): In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful; (An-Naml 27:30)

She said to her chiefs I have being given a letter from Sulayman

"Verily! It is from Sulaiman (Solomon), and verily! It (reads): In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful; (An-Naml 27:30)

-she said it was a noble letter
-when royalties write to royalties it is noble
-Persona Non Grata is a word used by Barristers
-when Doctors communicate they use words known only to them
-and so do royalties

Sulayman and Bilqees were royalties
-so she immediately knew it was a noble letter
-because he wrote Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem at the top of it

Another lesson Bismillah existed long before Muhammad was born
-you are also allowed to put Bismillah as your letterhead

Whenever you get a noble letter you can tell by the language
-if you are a manager and someone writes a letter for employment
-but can’t tell the difference between their and there
-or spelt interested as ‘intrested’
-the manager will drop the letter in the trash can because the person can’t spell
-many people can’t spell separate and also interest

When Sulayman sent the letter, the grammar and spelling were perfect
-and these are the hallmarks of a noble letter
-the language, spelling and grammar are perfect

"Be you not exalted against me, but come to me as Muslims (true believers who submit to Allah with full submission)'" (An-Naml 27:31)

-Sulayman said do not be exalt against me
-he knew this because Nimrod existed before Sulayman
-and he knows pride prevented a person from taking Shahadah

Sulayman asked them to worship the creator instead of the creation

The kuffaar say that we worship the moon
-because Allah means the moon or the black stone
-and they say the Qur'an is not talking about Jesus
-they are lying and they even lie on Allah

And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. (Genesis 2:2) King James Version

And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. (Genesis 2:3) King James Version

see 41:37

And from among His Signs are the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. Prostrate not to the sun nor to the moon, but prostrate to Allah Who created them, if you (really) worship Him. (Fussilat 41:37)

Allah commanded us not to worship the sun or moon
-the crescent or stars on the flags of countries is a cultural thing
-the best thing to put is the kalimah La ilaha ilallah
-if you put the moon the infidels will say you worship the moon

Narrated By 'Abis bin Rabia: 'Umar came near the Black Stone and kissed it and said "No doubt, I know that you are a stone and can neither benefit anyone nor harm anyone. Had I not seen Allah's Apostle kissing you I would not have kissed you." [Bukhari 1506, Muslim 2913, Tirmidhi 861, Abu Dawud 1873, Ahmed 229, Nisai 2934]

When Umar kissed the black stone
-he said if I had not seen the messenger doing so I would not have kissed you
-but what do you expect from these infidels that lie on Allah?

(Genesis 32:24-28) King James Version
24. And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.
25. And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him.
26. And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.
27. And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob.
28. And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.

And from among His Signs are the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. Prostrate not to the sun nor to the moon, but prostrate to Allah Who created them, if you (really) worship Him. (Fussilat 41:37)

Always checkmate the kuffaar with the ayah above
-Muslims always practice what is in the Qur'an

She said: "O chiefs! Advise me in (this) case of mine. I decide no case till you are present with me." (An-Naml 27:32)

-always hold shura, you were commanded to hold shura when you have something to decide

see 3:159

Then when you have taken a decision, put your trust in Allah, certainly, Allah loves those who put their trust (in Him). (Aali Imran 3:159)

-so she held shura because it was a big decision
-she was asked to abandon her culture and religion that they worshipped for years
-that's why she held shura, how can she make a decision on he own?

Another lesson, a wise leader always seeks advice
-when Umar was caliph he never allowed some Sahabah to leave Madina
-the 10 that were promised Jannah
-when he conquered Persia he did not know what to do with them
-but it was Abdur Rahman bin Auf who told him
-deal with them as you do with the people of the book

...'Umar did not take the Jizya from the Magian infidels till 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Auf testified that Allah's Apostle had taken the Jizya from the Magians of Hajar. [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 4, Book 53, Hadith #384]

A wise leader always holds council before making a crucial decision
-Bilqees was a kaafir, worshipping the creation
-but she still knew the importance of shura meeting
-she knew the dangers of totalitarianism, so she asked the chiefs to advice her

They said: "We have great strength, and great ability for war, but it is for you to command; so think over what you will command." (An-Naml 27:33)

-they said we have great strength but it is hers to command

-that statement proves that they did not know about fiqhul waqia
-that Sulayman had command over the Jinn and wind
-so they were out of touch with fiqhul waqia

She said: "Verily! Kings, when they enter a town (country), they despoil it, and make the most honourable amongst its people low. And thus they do. (An-Naml 27:34)

Even though she was royalty, yet she did not give good reference about royalty
-she said kings corrupt the land and Allah said this is what they do

For example the Kingdom of Saudi they have riba banks
-even though this is haraam
-so you live to see what Bilqees said this proves to you her wisdom
-she was royalty and it takes one to know the other
-when people are in the same game they know each other and they hate each other
-politicians hate each other because they know they are scumbags

The last part of the ayah came from Allah
-He put a rubber stamp on her statement

When George Bush declared his crusade on Islam
-Saudi Arabia rallied behind him and supplied him with land space, airspace and oil

-and when Iraq was invaded many Muslim women were brutally raped
-and this shows you what Kings do

They do everything to hang on to power because the leadership is inherited and imposed

A munafiq will tell you kingship is halal because David was a king
-this is abrogated evidence because David (AS) was before Muhammad (SAW)

When Umar was stabbed he chose 6 men for the caliph to be chosen from
-but he said his son ibn Umar was not to be one
-when Mu'awiyya started kingship it brought many problems
-Makkah was invaded
-I bring up this tragedy because Bilqees said kings when they enter a land they corrupt it

-but the MADkhalis will tell you it is halal, this is abrogated evidence
-e.g. it like saying a Muslim women can marry a kaafir because Aasia was Muslim and married to Fir'aun

-last ayah we stopped at was AYAH 30

"Verily! It is from Sulaiman (Solomon), and verily! It (reads): In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful; (An-Naml 27:30)

-Bilqees received a letter from Sulaiman (AS)

Sa’id Ibn Abi Sakinah states that he heard the following hadith from Ali Ibn Abi Talib. He saw a person writing bismillah and said to him, “Write it beautifully for the person who writes it beautifully will be forgiven.” [Tafseer al-Qurtubi (Vol. 1, pg. 91) and al-Tuyuriyat (Vol. 3, pg. 932)]

-you are allowed to write bismillah at the Beginning of a letter
-you should write with a beautiful writing because you will be forgiven of your sins
-look how merciful Allah is

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (SAW) as saying: Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, said: My mercy excels My wrath. [Bukhari, Muslim, Tirmidhi, Ahmed]

-you will receive Allah’s mercy by just witting
-the basmallah at the beginning of a letter

"Be you not exalted against me, but come to me as Muslims (true believers who submit to Allah with full submission)'" (An-Naml 27:31)

-Sulaiman said do not be proud and arrogant against me

And from among His Signs are the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. Prostrate not to the sun nor to the moon, but prostrate to Allah Who created them, if you (really) worship Him. (Fussilat 41:37)

-Allah said in Surah 47:37 do not worship Allah’s creation and prostrate to Allah
-because of this ayah you Muslim worship Allah alone
-worship Allah alone
-the kufaar create websites saying Mulsim worship the moon, this is a big lie
-this is called buhtan, iftira
-you are not allowed to be a grave worshipper, don’t say you can’t make takfeer on them either
-because your Shahadah has 7 conditions, the first condition is knowledge
-knowing what the Shahadah means
-so don’t say the grave worshipper from India Pakistan and Bangladesh etc doesn’t know

She said: "O chiefs! Advise me in (this) case of mine. I decide no case till you are present with me." (An-Naml 27:32)

-it is haraam to be a dictator because Allah is only dictator
-whenever a person is a dictator Allah disgraces them in this life and the hereafter
-take a look at the world around us

They said: "We have great strength, and great ability for war, but it is for you to command; so think over what you will command." (An-Naml 27:33)

-so the men speak strongly in the meeting
-if Sulaiman wants to come and take over in Yemen, let him know that we are strong
-this is what they meant in their Shurah meeting
-the statement 'we have strength and might' they were wrong because they didn’t know the fiqhul waqi

She said: "Verily! Kings, when they enter a town (country), they despoil it, and make the most honourable amongst its people low. And thus they do. (An-Naml 27:34)

-she was royalty she was a queen, even though she was a queen, she didn’t speak good about them
-the leadership is inherited and causes corruption
-if you have a son and you die, your son would be the king, even if he drinks, and doesn’t fast
-king of Saud died in exile in Greece and put king Faisal in power

-some we don’t even know if he was a muslim
-Mua'wiyyah was the first king
-in Islam, and this means his son would took over from him
-when his son did this caused a lot of bloodshed

Exiled King Saud of Arabia Dies of Heart Attack at 67:,5176739

-the grandson of the prophet (SAW) head was chopped of in the caliphate of Yazeed
-kings corrupt the land
-David was before rasool (SAW)

"But verily! I am going to send him a present, and see with what (answer) the messengers return." (An-Naml 27:35)

-between Sulayman and Bilqees was a chess game
-Sulayman made the first move by writing her a letter
-he did not give them an ultimatum
-he asked them to surrender to Islam and not be arrogant
-so he was asking her to change her lifestyle, culture and religion, she had for an entire life

To change a religion is a big thing
-the most important day in a reverts life is when he/she took Shahadah

You don’t give Shahadah to born Muslims
-because when they pray and recite the Shahadah is sufficient

Why did she decide to send a gift to Sulayman? She thought Sulayman's pursuit was wealth
-so she thought she could divert him by the gift
-gifts have a room

Ibn Taymiyya said don’t ask for a gift
-but when given don’t reject it
-but it's better you don’t take gifts from people who are giving dawah to
-to embrace Islam

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (RH) said: As for accepting a gift from them on the day of their festival, we have quoted above that ‘Ali ibn Abi Taalib was brought a gift on the occasion of Nayrooz and he accepted it.

If you are a Qadi in a courthouse
-and you are told to settle a dispute between two families
-if one of the families give you a gift you are not allowed to accept
-that is a bribe

from Abdullah ibn Amri that the Prophet (SAW) cursed both the receiver and the giver of bribe. [Tirmidhi 1342, Abu Dawud 3580, Ibn e Majah 2313, Ahmed 7003]

If you have a beautiful daughter and you know a man is interested in her
-but you are not pleased with his character
-you are not allowed to accept gifts from him

Al-Haafiz Ibn Hajar (RH) said in Fath al-Baari (9/245-246): It was narrated that Aaishah (RA) said: The Messenger of Allaah (SAW) would accept gifts and reciprocate for them. [Narrated by al-Bukhaari (2585)]

-the king of Eygpt sent him two women as gifts
-and he took one and gave the other to his poet

[Then Sulaiman (Solomon) said to the chief of her messengers who brought the present]: "Go back to them. We verily shall come to them with hosts that they cannot resist, and we shall drive them out from there in disgrace, and they will be abased." (An-Naml 27:37)

So not because Sulayman denied the gift from Bilqees
-you will say I won’t accept gifts from kaafirs

Narrated By Abu Humaid As-Saidi: We accompanied the Prophet in the Ghazwa of Tabuk and the king of 'Aila presented a white mule and a cloak as a gift to the Prophet. And the Prophet wrote to him a peace treaty allowing him to keep authority over his country. [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 4, Book 53, Hadith #387]

-because the prophet did and Ali also did

You are not allowed to accept Valentine and Christmas gifts

Sulayman wanted to invade the land because Allah said fight them until there is no more fitnah
-so he does not want any gifts to tamper with his intention
-to invade Yemen and establish Shariah

Abd-Allaah ibn Masood (RA) narrated that the Prophet (SAW) said: Accept invitations, do not refuse gifts and do not beat the Muslims. [Narrated by Ahmad in al-Musnad (1/404), and classed as Hasan by the editors of al-Musnad]

-we are allowed to accept gifts from kuffaar because the prophet did from the king of Eygpt

-on Easter, Christmas, Valentines etc.
-Valentine is becoming bigger like Christmas and this day is celebrated because of Saint Valentines
-he used to organise secret marriages behind the back of the wicked king
-who used to deny soldiers from getting married, so when the king found out he killed St. Valentines
-so they celebrate it because he died for love

The Christians in the Arab world say it is a day of Eid and a lot of zina happens on that day
-the Saudi police swoop on a couple that was celebrating it because it is not Islamic

Religious police swoop on Valentine's Day lovers:

To give a gift to someone a gift on birthdays is bid’ah, but on Christmas it is haram

-this is because when you delay your marriage the Shaytan breaks you up

Ali ibn Abu Talib (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said to him, “Three things you should not postpone : the prayer when the hour for it arrives, the funeral when it is ready, and (the marriage of) an unmarried woman when you find a suitable match for her.” (Tirmidhi 171 and 1077, Ahmed 828, Ibn e Majah 1486, Mustadrak Hakim vol.2 pg.162)

-so it is not haram to take the gifts back
-and you are not allowed to hold hands with your fiancé
-and this happens when you delay the Nikah and sometimes they even commit Zina
-and then the man will say I have changed my mind

Narrated by Anas ibn Malik (RA) that the Prophet (SAW) said: “No one of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.” [al-Bukhari (13) and Muslim (45)]

He would not want such to be done to his sister
-and the prophet said love for your Muslims brother what you love for yourself

-and you cannot accept their invitation to dinner
-a Muslim girl is not allowed to accept gifts from men who is not her fiancé
-and also she should not accept lunch invitation from a man who is not her fiancé
-there is no such a thing as free lunch

Countries that ban homosexuality risk losing aid, warns David Cameron:

You are allowed to accept gifts from your Mahram
-but if a non Mahram is showering you with gifts
-it's because he wants to have sex with you

If a kaafir gives you a gift in exchange for you to abandon your religion
-you are not allowed to accept the gift

So when (the messengers with the present) came to Sulaiman (Solomon), he said: "Will you help me in wealth? What Allah has given me is better than that which He has given you! Nay, you rejoice in your gift!" (An-Naml 27:36)

-what on earth can you give me that I don’t have in my palace already
-what Allah has given me is better, you are the ones mesmerized by your gift
-he denied the gift

If the Queen of the UK should give you a gift like a Jaguar
-nobody will deny the gift and you will make sure you take good care of it
-and you will mention it to everyone who visits you
-and you will only drive that car on Sundays because you don’t want the mileage to run down the value

But when Sulayman was given the gift he denied it and said what Allah has given him is better

"Go back to them. We verily shall come to them with hosts that they cannot resist, and we shall drive them out from there in disgrace, and they will be abased." (An-Naml 27:37)

-Sulayman said I am going to conquer you
-because you are a people who worship the sun instead of Allah

And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and polytheism: i.e. worshipping others besides Allah) and the religion (worship) will all be for Allah Alone [in the whole of the world[]]. But if they cease (worshipping others besides Allah), then certainly, Allah is All-Seer of what they do. (Al-Anfal 8:39)

-so he said to the messengers of Bilqees take back the gifts
-and I will attack you with an army you can’t resist

-because he predicted their next step

One with whom was knowledge of the Scripture said: "I will bring it to you within the twinkling of an eye!" then when [Sulaiman (Solomon)] saw it placed before him, he said: "This is by the Grace of my Lord to test me whether I am grateful or ungrateful! And whoever is grateful, truly, his gratitude is for (the good of) his ownself, and whoever is ungrateful, (he is ungrateful only for the loss of his ownself). Certainly! My Lord is Rich (Free of all wants), Bountiful." (An-Naml 27:40)

-you wouldn’t return the gift of the Queen because of bad publicity, Sulayman returned the gift
-She got a second message and she physically came to see him in his palace
-it was a chess game between Sulayman and Bilquis

Whoever goes right, then he goes right only for the benefit of his ownself. And whoever goes astray, then he goes astray to his own loss. No one laden with burdens can bear another's burden. And We never punish until We have sent a Messenger (to give warning). (Al-Isra 17:15)

4 reason why people marry
1. power
2. money
3. deen

Narrated By Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "A woman is married for four things, i.e., her wealth, her family status, her beauty and her religion. So you should marry the religious woman (otherwise) you will be a losers. [al-Bukhari (5090) and Muslim (1466)]

-the marriage between them was a power marriage, Bilqees had political conditions
-the rasul (SAW) said go for the woman with Deen otherwise you are a loser

Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies, of Allah and your enemies, and others besides, whom ye may not know, but whom Allah doth know. Whatever ye shall spend in the cause of Allah, shall be repaid unto you, and ye shall not be treated unjustly (8:60) [Yusuf Ali]
