Bismillah…

-we are continuing with the subject of Tafseer and today we will speak on Surah 23
-it was revealed in Makkah
-a Surah is either revealed in Makkah or Medina and there is no in between

The prophet spent 13 years in Makkah and it was darul harb, so the Surah’s focused on Tauheed
-he spent 10 years in Madina and so the Surah’s are on Shariah
-this is the Sunnah of Allah and if that is not your Sunnah you are misguided

This Surah was revealed in Makkah and it describes to us the characteristics of a believer
-it is not sufficient for you to be Muslim or right Aqeedah and not have good character
-I met people in London who have right Aqeedah, but smoke weed
-so it is not sufficient to have right Aqeedah, you need to have good character

Successful indeed are the believers. (Al-Mu'minun 23:1)

Those who offer their Salat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness. (Al-Mu'minun 23:2)

There is a difference between the Muslim and Mu'min
-the latter abstains from major haraam
-but the Muslim may dabble in major haraam
-and you are not allowed to make takfeer on the person
-you are not allowed to paint all haraams the same

To drink alcohol, commit zina are minor kufr

There are 2 types of kufr
1. MAJOR
2. MINOR

The khawaarij paint every kufr with the same brush
-only major kufr takes you outside the fold of Islam

Allah made the difference between Muslim and Mu'min

The bedouins say: "We believe." Say: "You believe not but you only say, 'We have surrendered (in Islam),' for Faith has not yet entered your hearts. But if you obey Allah and His Messenger (SAW), He will not decrease anything in reward for your deeds. Verily, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." (Al-Hujurat 49:14)

One day the rasul (SAW) was giving out booty
-and a man said why do not you give that man more because he is a Mu'min
-and the prophet said or a Muslim
-so he made the difference between them

Narrated By Sad (bin Abi Waqqas): Allah's Apostle distributed something (from the resources of Zakat) amongst a group of people while I was sitting amongst them, but he left a man whom I considered the best of the lot. So, I went up to Allah's Apostle and asked him secretly, "Why have you left that person? By Allah! I consider him a believer (mu’min)." The Prophet said, "Or merely a Muslim (Who surrender to Allah)." I remained quiet for a while but could not help repeating my question because of what I knew about him. I said, "O Allah's Apostle! Why have you left that person? By Allah! I consider him a believer. " The Prophet said, "Or merely a Muslim." I remained quiet for a while but could not help repeating my question because of what I knew about him. I said, "O Allah's Apostle! Why have you left that person? By Allah! I consider him a believer." The Prophet said, "Or merely a Muslim." Then Allah's Apostle (p.b.u.h) said, "I give to a person while another is dearer to me, for fear that he may be thrown in the Hell-fire on his face (by renegating from Islam)." [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 2, Book 24, Hadith #556]

The rasul said the man who is committing fornication
-is not a Mu'min when he is in the act with the woman

Narrated By Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, "When an adulterer commits illegal sexual intercourse, then he is not a believer at the time he is doing it; and when somebody drinks an alcoholic drink, then he is not believer at the time of drinking, and when a thief steals, he is not a believer at the time when he is stealing; and when a robber robs and the people look at him, then he is not a believer at the time of doing it." Abu Huraira in another narration, narrated the same from the Prophet with the exclusion of robbery. [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 8, Book 81, Hadith #763]

-this hadeeth means he is not a Mu'min but a Muslim while in the act
-but the khawaarij will say to you, he is a kaafir
-but we ASWJ say the hadeeth says he is not a Mu'min while fornicating
-so the prophet meant he is not a Mu'min, but still a Muslim
-so he died a Muslim and can go to paradise if Allah forgives him

Verily, Allah forgives not that partners should be set up with him in worship, but He forgives except that (anything else) to whom He pleases, and whoever sets up partners with Allah in worship, he has indeed invented a tremendous sin. (An-Nisa 4:48)

Allah said He forgives all sins except shirk
-so who are you to take away the hope of the believers?
-you have no mercy in your heart for the Muslims

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger having said: By Him in Whose Hand is my life, if you were not to commit sin, Allah would sweep you out of existence and He would replace (you by) those people who would commit sin and seek forgiveness from Allah, and He would have pardoned them. (Sahih Muslim, Book 037, Number 6622)

Don’t you know the Hadeeth, if you do not sin, Allah will create people that will?
-there is a difference between a Muslim and a Mu'min
-and Allah and His rasul made the difference

We all need to have good character
-and you are not allowed to be satisfied with your knowledge and character
-if you do this you fall into the web of the Shaytan
-the prophet said do not commit sins and brag about it

Narrated By Abu Huraira: I heard Allah's Apostle saying. "All the sins of my followers will be forgiven except those of the Mujahirin (those who commit a sin openly or disclose their sins to the people). An example of such disclosure is that a person commits a sin at night and though Allah screens it from the public, then he comes in the morning, and says, 'O so-and-so, I did such-and-such (evil) deed yesterday,' though he spent his night screened by his Lord (none knowing about his sin) and in the morning he removes Allah's screen from himself." [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 8, Book 73, Hadith #095]

He says (boastfully): "I have wasted wealth in abundance!" (Al-Balad 90:6)

-a man committed sin during the night and Allah hid his sin
-but some people brag about everything
-even when they spend money they brag about it
-they blow a lot of money in Las Vegas and brag about it
-these people are not forgiven their sins

AYAH 1

Successful indeed are the believers. (Al-Mu'minun 23:1)

-the word Qad when used with the present tense it means maybe
-when used with past tense it means indeed, there is no doubt surrounding it
-So Allah said there is no doubt the believers will be successful

AYAH 2

Those who offer their Salat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness. (Al-Mu'minun 23:2)

One day a man prayed and the prophet sent him to pray again
-because he prayed very fast with no Khusu'u
-and his back was not straight when he got up from Ruku'u
-and you are not allowed to bend your knees in Ruku'u
-if you do not allow your back to be straight after Ruku'u you are a thief

Narrated By Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle entered the mosque and a person followed him. The man prayed and went to the Prophet and greeted him. The Prophet returned the greeting and said to him, "Go back and pray, for you have not prayed." The man went back prayed in the same way as before, returned and greeted the Prophet who said, "Go back and pray, for you have not prayed." This happened thrice. The man said, "By Him Who sent you with the Truth, I cannot offer the prayer in a better way than this. Please, teach me how to pray." The Prophet said, "When you stand for Prayer say Takbir and then recite from the Holy Qur'an (of what you know by heart) and then bow till you feel at ease. Then raise your head and stand up straight, then prostrate till you feel at ease during your prostration, then sit with calmness till you feel at ease (do not hurry) and do the same in all your prayers." [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 1, Book 12, Hadith #724]

Where people mess up most in Salah is in Ruku'u
-your back is supposed to be straight
-and when a glass of water is places on it, it is not supposed to spill
-and not to bend your knees
-prayers make you fit

When praying you are not allowed to look in the sky
-you are supposed to look where you are going to make Sajdah
-and you are not to pray thinking about Dunya
-you are to pray as if you are seeing Allah
-and even though you are not seeing Allah
-you have the realisation He is watching you

Abu Huraira reported: People should avoid lifting their eyes towards the sky while supplicating in prayer, otherwise their eyes would be snatched away. [Sahih Muslim, Book 4, Hadith #863]

You are not allowed to pray with pictures in front of you
-on top of news papers with pictures
-with a dress with pictures on it
-or with shoes on that have filth on them

You are not allowed to pray behind a MADkhali, Brelvis, Shia etc
-a Madkhali is a munafiq

Spying in Brixton (UK):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zfa--DV8Lmo

-also a Qadiyaani
-many of you pray behind anybody and this is not allowed

But you can pray behind a Deobandi, Tablighi, Asha'ira
-I do not know of any scholar who said you can’t pray behind them

Recently Abu Khadija passed a fatwa that you can give your wala to the kuffaar

ABU KHADEEJAH: SEEKING AID FROM THE KUFFAR:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3upvxIobyE

You are not allowed to pray behind people with dodgy Aqeedah

Had We willed, We could have shown them to you, and you should have known them by their marks, but surely, you will know them by the tone of their speech! And Allah knows all your deeds. (Muhammad 47:30)

see 5:51 for not taking sides with kuffaar

O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians as Auliya' (friends, protectors, helpers, etc.), they are but Auliya' to one another. And if any amongst you takes them as Auliya', then surely he is one of them. Verily, Allah guides not those people who are the Zalimûn (polytheists and wrongdoers and unjust). (Al-Ma'idah 5:51)

-some of you may say Umar took the help of Christians to fight the Persians
-Umar used kuffaar to kill kuffaar
-what the MADkhalis are doing is to use kuffaar to kill Muslims, so they are not the same

AYAH 2

Those who offer their Salat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness. (Al-Mu'minun 23:2)

-those who do not fidget in their Salah
-if you fidget 3 times in Salah in one position,
-your salah is baatil and this is the correct opinion

You are not allowed to laugh or giggle in Salah
-the Hanafis say this breaks your Salah and Wudu
-but the Hanbalis said the Salah is not broken
-Khushu'u is a part of Salah
-my Shaikhs told me the Hanbalis are correct that it does not break your Salah
-take up the matter with your local Shaikh because the scholars split right in the middle

To laugh or giggle does not break your Wudu
-but for Salah I will advice you go along with the opinion of Abu Haneefa

Smiling or laughing during the salah: Ibn al-Munzhir records that there is a consensus of opinion that laughing (during the salah) invalidates the prayer. An-Nawawi says: "This is the case if one laughs aloud, and produces sound. Most of the scholars say that there is no problem with smiling. If one is overcome by laughter and cannot control it, his salah will not become invalid if it is of minor nature. If it is a hearty laughter, it will invalidate the salah. Custom would determine whether it is a major or a minor laughter." [Fiqh-us-Sunnah, Vol 2, Book 32, Fiqh 2.098]

So if a person smiles in Salah, the Salah is not invalid
-but if a laughter that caused noise and people could hear you, then your Salah is broken
-but to go further and say it breaks Wudu is going too far

AYAH 3

And those who turn away from Al-Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk, falsehood, and all that Allah has forbidden). (Al-Mu'minun 23:3)

-to turn away from false, vain, idle talk
see 25:72

And those who do not witness falsehood, and if they pass by some evil play or evil talk, they pass by it with dignity. (Al-Furqan 25:72)

-Allah spoke about laghuw speech
-that the believers pass by it with dignity

On the authority of Abu Hurairah, who said: The Messenger of Allah said “A sign of one’s excellence in his Islam, is ignoring what does not concern him.” [Tirmidhi 2318, Ibn e Majah 3976, Ahmed 1737, Al-Muwatta 1604]

see 88:11

Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, (Al-Ghashiyah 88:11)

Allah said in paradise there shall be no harmful speech or falsehood
-and harmful speech is used to seduce women
-this is how dangerous it is

When you fast in Ramadan you give up laghuw speech
-it is used to seduce women for the purpose of zina

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "There are people who fast and get nothing from their fast except hunger, and there are those who pray and get nothing from their prayer but a sleepless night." [Sunan Ibn Majah (Arabic/English), Vol 2, pg498-499, Hadith #1690]

A believer is able to control his tongue

Narrated By Sahl bin Sa'd: Allah's Apostle said, "Whoever can guarantee (the chastity of) what is between his two jaw-bones and what is between his two legs (i.e. his tongue and his private parts), I guarantee Paradise for him." [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 8, Book 76, Hadith #481]

-anyone who dabbles in backbiting and slandering
-can’t control his tongue and private part
-these 2 organs are interwoven

SHAIKH IN UK
-I saw women who had affairs with famous footballers, politicians
-and they sold their story to The Sun newspaper
-and they earn millions of dollars for the story

So first they fornicate with their private parts and then speak about it
-and they go into details in the story and the news spreads like wildfire

The tabloids sell more than all newspapers and The Sun sells more than them
-a believer will never buy the tabloid newspaper
-they have porn in page 3 with topless models

And those who do not witness falsehood, and if they pass by some evil play or evil talk, they pass by it with dignity. (Al-Furqan 25:72)

-Allah said the sincere believers do not witness false talk
-so which believer will buy a tabloid newspaper?
-or see The Sun newspaper and read it?
-because Allah said a believer does not do this and in paradise there will be no laghuw speech

Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, (Al-Ghashiyah 88:11)

AYAH 4

And those who pay the Zakat . (Al-Mu'minun 23:4)

The word Zakah means to grow and to purify
-so you purify your wealth
-you pay 2.5% of your yearly savings
-25 dollars from 1000 dollars

When we say you wait for a year for the Zakah to mature
-we are talking about silver and gold and not on perishable goods
-Allah said in 6:141

Eat of their fruit when they ripen, but pay the due thereof (its Zakat, according to Allah's Orders 1/10th or 1/20th) on the day of its harvest, and waste not by extravagance. Verily, He likes not Al-Musrifûn (those who waste by extravagance), (Al-An'am 6:141)

-pay the Zakah of the harvest
-1/10th or 1/20th
-if Allah irrigated it for you, you pay more
-but if you irrigated it yourself then you pay less
-so the man whose crops were irrigated by natural rain pays more
-than the one who irrigated it himself

A believer pays the Zakah and if you deny it is Fard, you become a kaafir
-some people did this after the rasul (SAW) died and they refused to pay to Abu Bakr
-but he fought them and took their wives as captives

It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that when the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) breathed his last and Abu Bakr was appointed as his successor (Caliph), those amongst the Arabs who wanted to become apostates became apostates. 'Umar b. Khattab said to Abu Bakr: Why would you fight against the people, when the Messenger of Allah declared: I have been directed to fight against people so long as they do not say: There is no god but Allah, and he who professed it was granted full protection of his property and life on my behalf except for a right? His (other) affairs rest with Allah. Upon this Abu Bakr said: By Allah, I would definitely fight against him who severed prayer from Zakat, for it is the obligation upon the rich. By Allah, I would fight against them even to secure the cord (used for hobbling the feet of a camel) which they used to give to the Messenger of Allah (as Zakat) but now they have withheld it. Umar b. Khattab remarked: By Allah, I found nothing but the fact that Allah had opened the heart of Abu Bakr for (perceiving the justification of) fighting (against those who refused to pay Zakat) and I fully recognized that the (stand of Abu Bakr) was right. [Sahih Muslim, Book 1, Hadith #0029]

see 2:85

Then do you believe in a part of the Scripture and reject the rest? Then what is the recompense of those who do so among you, except disgrace in the life of this world, and on the Day of Resurrection they shall be consigned to the most grievous torment. And Allah is not unaware of what you do. (Al-Baqarah 2:85)

Allah spoke about people that believe in only a part of the book
-this causes you to be disgraced and punished, just like those that Abu Bakr fought
-they took their Shahadah and prayed, but refused to pay Zakah
-and so they were killed as kuffaar
-if you do not pay Zakah, your wealth will become snakes

"Whoever is made wealthy by Allah and does not pay the Zakat of his wealth, then on the Day of Resurrection his wealth will be made like a bald-headed poisonous male snake with two black spots over the eyes. The snake will encircle his neck and bite his cheeks and say, 'I am your wealth, I am your treasure.' [Bukhari Volume 2, Book 24, Number 486]

And those who hoard up gold and silver [Al-Kanz: the money, the Zakat of which has not been paid], and spend it not in the Way of Allah, -announce unto them a painful torment. (At-Tawbah 9:34)

-and you will be punished with a severe torment
-if the Muslims were paying Zakah, the women would not have become prostitutes
-and you can’t make takfeer on them
-it is the rule of the society

And to divorce is a taboo among people
-because men do not want to marry divorced women
-and these women are left alone with nobody to take care of their needs

If there is no strong caliph to collect Zakah, people will not pay
-if they refused to do so during the time of Abu Bakr, how can they pay now?
-and Islam survived when Abu Bakr fought those that refused

So Islam survived on 3 days
-and the 4th day is the battle of Ain Jaloot
-when the Tatars were fought

http://www.authenticTauheed.com/2011/08/168-battle-of-ayn-jalut-by-shaikh.html

-the Muslims taught the Tatars a lesson they will never forget
-just like they did to the Persians and Russians
-there are people that nobody can defeat but the Muslims

The Afghanis were defeating all the people that went there
-it is the graveyard of all the so called super powers

The rasul said if you do not pay Zakah the rain will stop

It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin 'Umar said: "The Messenger of Allah (SAW) turned to us and said: 'O Muhajirin, there are five things with which you will be tested, and I seek refuge with Allah lest you live to see them: Immorality never appears among a people to such an extent that they commit it openly, but plagues and diseases that were never known among the predecessors will spread among them. They do not cheat in weights and measures but they will be stricken with famine, severe calamity and the oppression of their rulers. They do not withhold the Zakah of the wealth, but rain will be withheld from the sky, and were it not for the animals, no rain would fall on them. They do not break the covenant with Allah and His Messenger, but Allah will enable their enemies to overpower them and take some of what is in their hands. Unless their leaders rule according to the Book of Allah and seek all good from that which Allah has revealed, Allah will cause them to fight one another. [Sunan Ibn Majah (Arabic/English), Vol. 5, pg. 222-233, Hadith #4019]

-and it only comes because of the animals that live among us
-and one of the signs of the last days is that people will stop paying Zakah
-these people say that it is Allah's will that the people are poor
-and they are poor because they are lazy, this was what the kuffaar of Makkah said

And when it is said to them: "Spend of that with which Allah has provided you," those who disbelieve say to those who believe: "Shall we feed those whom, if Allah willed, He (Himself) would have fed? You are only in a plain error." (Ya-Sin 36:47)

Whenever a person is a munafiq he can’t pay Zakah and even if he does he does while hating it
-his blood boils when he has to pay the Zakah

AYAH 5

And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts) (Al-Mu'minun 23:5)

-anybody who is reckless with his tongue is also reckless with his private part
-and those that can control these 2 are guaranteed paradise
-how many people come to PT to gossip?
-you are not allowed to go to chat rooms and gossip thinking it is fun
-it is not fun

Chat rooms are for retards and do not go to rooms with no Shaikhs
-people backbite and slander as if judgement day will not come

You are not living in the 1950’s
-where you get tablets to cure STDs
-you are living in dangerous times
-with Hepatitis, Syphilis, Herpes, Chlamydia, HIV etc

You are not allowed to marry someone from Jahiliyya without testing for these STIs

Before you buy a car, you vet it
-but no woman will tell you how many men she slept with
-but men brag about the figures, women cut it in half, while men double it
-because it is embarrassing for a women
-not even in kaafir society a woman is allowed to sleep around

SHAIKH IN SOUTH AFRICA
-a Doctor told him 1,000 people die daily there from AIDS
-that is like 3 jumbo jets crashing daily
-but people do not talk about the deaths of their relatives from AIDS
-because you will be discriminated against

People are obsessed with private parts
-there is worship of private parts in India

http://www.cracked.com/article_16103_5-inspiring-religions-that-worship-penises.html

-look how many politicians go down the gutters because of their affairs
-their careers are finished because they could not control their private parts
-people have affairs because the Shaytan convinces them it's going to be exciting

"From the evil of the whisperer (devil who whispers evil in the hearts of men) who withdraws (from his whispering in one's heart after one remembers Allah), (An-Nas 114:4)

"Who whispers in the breasts of mankind, (An-Nas 114:5)

-the Shaytan uses his waswasa to lead people astray
-the rasul (SAW) said if you see a woman and you are excited, go to your wife
-because she has the same thing the woman has
-but the Shaytan tells you, you are missing something out

Jabir heard Allah's Apostle (SAW) say: When a woman fascinates any one of you and she captivates his heart, he should go to his wife and have an intercourse with her, for it would repel what he feels. [Sahih Muslim, Book 8, Hadith #3242]

Allah did not say ‘do not commit zina’, He said ‘do not come near to zina’

see 17:32

And come not near to the unlawful sexual intercourse. Verily, it is a Fahishah [i.e. anything that transgresses its limits (a great sin)], and an evil way (that leads one to Hell unless Allah forgives him). (Al-Isra 17:32)

-so it is like alcohol, Allah said leave it off

Whenever a man wants to commit zina he takes alcohol
-because it increases the level of testosterone
-so do not lock yourself up in a room with a woman
-because the third is the Shaytan

Narrated Umar ibn al-Khattab: The Prophet said, "Whenever a man is alone with a woman the Devil makes a third." [Ahmad and Al-Tirmidhi 3118]

If a Muslim girl is alone with a kaafir, he is going to rape her
-because he knows she can’t complain to her father
-and because of this when women complain in Pakistan to the police, they blame the woman
-so the women do not complain about rape cases
-the police may rape her again if she goes to complain

If Allah said do not come near zina, why are you alone with a man?
-also do not travel alone without a mahram

Abu Saeed (RA) reported that Allah's Messenger (SAW) said, It is not lawful for a woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day that she travel (alone) on a journey of three days except that she is accompanied by her father, her brother, her husband, her son or a mahram (besides them). [Tirmidhi 1172, Ahmed 41515, Muslim 1340, Abu Dawud 17, Ibn e Majah 2898]

-you need a mahram to be at the airport to receive you
-and you are not allowed to travel for 3 days without a mahram

If you want to study in University you have to live nearby and go home
-you can’t be on campus alone without a mahram, this is approaching zina
-even the men are not advised to travel alone

Your private parts can cause you to die from AIDS
-just like the 3 men that made AIDS famous
-or Jeremiah Steward, who sang a song, but did not practice what he preached
-so the private parts can be very lethal because you can get STDs that have no cure

AYAH 6

Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; (Al-Mu'minun 23:6)

- you safeguard your private parts, except to your wife or right hand possess

Narrated By Mu'awiyah ibn Haydah: I said: Apostle of Allah, from whom should we conceal our private parts and to whom can we show? He replied: conceal your private parts except from your wife and from whom your right hands possess (slave-girls)... [Abu Dawud 4006, Tirmidhi 2803, Ahmed 20054]

-and the modernist will say, “do not go to bed with your right hand possess without marrying them”
-this is wrong because the prophet did not marry Maryam who was from Egypt
-the hadith above tells you, you can have intercourse with your right hand possess without nikah
-if you deny this you are forming Hislam

AYAH 7

But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors; (Al-Mu'minun 23:7)

-Imam Malik used this ayah to say masturbation is haraam
-but Ahmad said it is allowed if you fear falling into zina
-but Muslim girls are not allowed to masturbate with dildos
-because you will rupture your virginity

AYAH 8

Those who are faithfully true to their Amanat (all the duties which Allah has ordained, honesty, moral responsibility and trusts etc.)[] and to their covenants; (Al-Mu'minun 23:8)

-the prophet said the signs of a munafiq are 4

The Prophet said, "Whoever has the following four (characteristics) will be a pure hypocrite and whoever has one of the following four characteristics will have one characteristic of hypocrisy unless and until he gives it up. 1. Whenever he is entrusted, he betrays. 2. Whenever he speaks, he tells a lie. 3. Whenever he makes a covenant, he proves treacherous. 4. Whenever he quarrels, he behaves in a very imprudent, evil and insulting manner." [Bukhari, Book 2, Hadith #33]

Allah said the believers are shepherds of their promises
-they do not stab you in the back
-his word is his word
-he comes 5PM if he promised to do so

AYAH 9

And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours). (Al-Mu'minun 23:9)

-the believers protect their 5 daily prayers
-the difference between a Muslim and a kaafir is the Salah
-the munafiqs do not want to pray and they search for Shaikh’s who
-will tell them they are still Muslims if they do not pray

see 9:11

But if they repent, perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat) and give Zakat, then they are your brethren in religion. (In this way) We explain the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) in detail for a people who know. (At-Tawbah 9:11)

Narrated 'Abdullah ibn Shaqiq al-'Aqeely, "The companions of Muhammad (SAW), did not consider the abandonment of any act, with the exception of prayer, as being disbelief (kufr)." (Tirmizhi and al-Hakim, who said it met al-Bukahri's and Muslim's conditions)

Jabir reports that the Prophet (SAW) said, "Between a person and disbelief is discarding prayer." (Related by Ahmad, Muslim, Abu Dawud, at-Tirmizhi and Ibn Majah.)

Buraidah reported that the Prophet (SAW) said, "The pact between us and them is prayer. Whoever abandons it is a disbeliever." (Related by Ahmad, Abu Dawud, at-Tirmizhi, anNasa'i and Ibn Majah.)

Ahmad ibn Hanbal used this ayah to debate Imam Shafi'i
-that you become kaafir if you do not pray
-this ayah was revealed when some POWs took their Shahadah
-and the Muslims were concerned about their Shahadah
-then Allah revealed the ayah

You are allowed to join your prayers
-when you are travelling and it is bid'ah to pray Sunnah when you joining your Salah
-you can join the Salah in either Dhuhr or ‘Asr or at Maghrib or Isha
-why do you make the religion a burden?

We have not sent down the Qur'an unto you (O Muhammad SAW) to cause you distress, (Ta-Ha 20:2)

Combining the two prayers due to some illness or other excuse: Ahmad, Qadi Hussain, al-Khattabi, and al-Mutawali of the Shaf'i school are of the opinion that it is allowed to combine two prayers, either during the time of the earlier or later salah, due to illness as it is a greater hardship than rain. An-Nawawi says: "This is a strong opinion based on [sound] evidence." In al-Mughni it is stated: "The illness which permits one to combine the prayers is the one which would otherwise cause hardship and more weakness [if he prayed each salah separately]." The Hanbali school is the most accommodating as it allows one to combine the prayers, at the time of the early or later salah, for one who is ill as well as for the woman who is breast-feeding and will face hardship in cleaning her dress for every salah, for the woman who is plagued by a prolonged flow of blood, for the person who cannot control his urine, and for one who cannot purify himself or herself, and for the one who fears for his life, property, or family. Ibn Taimiyyah says: "Among the opinions the most accommodating on this question is that of the Hanbali school which allows one to combine the prayers if he is busy (since an-Nasa'i has related something to that effect from the Prophet sallallahu alehi wasallam) and they also say that the cook and baker, and so forth., may also combine their prayers if they fear their wealth (i.e., their investment or what they are working on) will otherwise be ruined." [Fiqh-us-Sunnah, Vol 2, Book 37, 2.118]

-you join your prayers if you are busy or a traveller

Allah intends for you ease, and He does not want to make things difficult for you.(Al-Baqarah 2:185)

-if you are home you pray 4 raka'a for Dhuhr and ‘Asr
-but if a traveller, you shorten them as 2 raka'a except Maghrib

The rasul told a man the best act is to make Salah at it's prescribed time
-then to look after parents and jihad fisabilillah

“What is the most beloved act of worship to Allah? And he said: “The prayer at its prescribed fixed times.” Then I asked: “What is next?” He replied: “Then being kind and dutiful to the parents.” I again asked: “What is next?” He replied: “Jihad in the way of Allah.” He [‘Abdullah Ibn Mas’ood ] said: He [the Prophet ] told me this and if I were to ask him more questions, he would have told me more.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

The first thing Allah will ask you on judgement day is Salah

The Messenger (S.A.W.) told us in an authentic hadith , “The first thing the people will be accountable for on the Day of Judgment is prayer, Allah will say to His angels (even though he already knows) : “Look at my servants prayers. Were they complete or not?” If they were complete It will be written as complete. If they were not fully complete Allah will say: “See if my servant has voluntary prayers, If he has them Allah will say: Complete his obligatory prayers shortage with his voluntary prayers.” Then the rest of his deeds will be dealt with in the same manner.” [Reported by Imams Ahmad, Abu Dawood, An-Nisa'i, and Al-Hakim]
