AYAH 119

O you who believe! Be afraid of Allah, and be with those who are true (in words and deeds). (At-Tawbah 9:119)

-the Saadiqeen are people who are sincere, true to their words, the true Muslims
-good or bad company affects your emaan
-saadiqeen are the opposite of the munaafiqeen

Verily, the hyprocrites will be in the lowest depths (grade) of the Fire; no helper will you find for them. (An-Nisa 4:145)

Allah has commanded us to be in the company of the saadiqeen
-If you are in the wrong company it will affect you
-bad company is similar to being near the blacksmith
-good company is similar to being in a perfume shop

Narrated By Abu Musa: Allah's Apostle said, "The example of a good companion (who sits with you) in comparison with a bad one, is I like that of the musk seller and the blacksmith's bellows (or furnace); from the first you would either buy musk or enjoy its good smell while the bellows would either burn your clothes or your house, or you get a bad nasty smell thereof." [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 3, Book 34, Hadith #314]

"Ah! Woe to me! Would that I had never taken so-and-so as a friend! (Al-Furqan 25:28)

-fulaan Arabic word for 'so and so'
-many people who go to university often become involved in the wrong company
-they became apostates or hypocrites etc

The Prophet (saw) said: “A man will follow the religion of his close friend, so let each of you look to who he takes a close friend.” (Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi, 2378)

-if you know you are weak, why did you not find yourself in the right company?
-whenever Allah wants good for you, He gives you good companionship
-if he wants bad for you, He will give you bad companionship
-Like the Prophet (SAW) he had the best companions

Imran bin Hussein said Allah Apostle (saw) said: “The best of my followers are those living in my generation (i.e. my contemporaries) and then those who will follow them and then those who will follow them” (Sahih Bukhari (Arabic/English) Vol. 5 pg.2 No.2)

-that is why it only took him 23 years to take over the whole Arabian Peninsula
-3:110, backs up this Hadeeth

You [true believers in Islamic Monotheism, and real followers of Prophet Muhammad SAW and his Sunnah (legal ways, etc.)] are the best of peoples ever raised up for mankind; you enjoin Al-Ma'ruf (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam has ordained) and forbid Al-Munkar (polytheism, disbelief and all that Islam has forbidden), and you believe in Allah... (Aali Imran 3:110)

Narrated By Abdullah (bin Masud): On the day of Badr, Al-Miqdad said, "O Allah's Apostle! We do not say to you as the children of Israel said to Moses, 'Go you and your Lord and fight you two; we are sitting here, (5.24) but (we say). "Proceed, and we are with you." That seemed to delight Allah's Apostle greatly. [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 6, Book 60, Hadith #133]

-the prophet (SAW) was blessed with the best of companions
-whenever Allah wants good for you, he gives you the best of companions
-if not, he will give you the worst of companions

Allah commanded you to be in the company of the sadiqun
-how can you marry a munafiq? you should marry real people not munafiqeen
-no wonder sometimes your kids apostate because you do not marry good people
-only a munafiq marries a munafiq

-Another hadith, do not share your food unless they are people of taqwa (piety)

It was narrated from Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri (RA) that he heard the Messenger of Allah (SAW) say, “Do not keep company with anyone but a believer and do not let anyone eat your food but one who is pious.” [Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 2395; Abu Dawood, 4832. Abu ‘Eesa al-Tirmidhi said: this hadeeth is hasan]

-Men marry women for four reasons hadith:

Narrated By Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "A woman is married for four things, i.e., her wealth, her family status, her beauty and her religion. So you should marry the religious woman (otherwise) you will be a losers. [al-Bukhari (5090) and Muslim (1466)]

-what do you think you are doing?
-you have your wife slaving in the kitchen making food for the munafiqeen
-when the prophet (SAW) said do not share food unless they are pious
-and Allah says:

O you who believe! Take not as (your) Bitanah (advisors, consultants, protectors, helpers, friends, etc.) those outside your religion (pagans, Jews, Christians, and hypocrites) since they will not fail to do their best to corrupt you. They desire to harm you severely. Hatred has already appeared from their mouths, but what their breasts conceal is far worse. Indeed We have made plain to you the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses) if you understand. (Aali Imran 3:118)

-so there are many Quranic verses and hadith that tells us to be in the company of the righteous
-for example you have a car battery and your neighbour has a good battery and you do not
-you need a jump lead to jump start the car, so if your eeman is (flat) weak
-how can you be in the company of one whose eeman is weak?
-you should be in company of one who is strong in eeman to give your eeman a boost
-this is the reason why Allah says in Taubah 'be in the company of real Muslims'
-they will always guide you to good not bad, they are sincere in speech and actions
-they are called the sadiqeen, the opposite to this is the munafiqeen

AYAH 120

It was not becoming of the people of Al-Madinah and the bedouins of the neighbourhood to remain behind Allah's Messenger (Muhammad SAW when fighting in Allah's Cause) and (it was not becoming of them) to prefer their own lives to his life. That is because they suffer neither thirst nor fatigue, nor hunger in the Cause of Allah, nor they take any step to raise the anger of disbelievers nor inflict any injury upon an enemy but is written to their credit as a deed of righteousness. Surely, Allah wastes not the reward of the Muhsinun. (At-Tawbah 9:120)

-if the prophet (SAW) went out to fight, you should too, you should not stay behind
-you prefer your life over the prophets
-when a person is a munafiq, they do not suffer in hunger and thirst in the cause of Allah
-and if you do suffer these things this will be in your credit
-if you kill a kaafir he will take your place in hell fire

It has been narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger Allah (may peace be upon him) said: A disbeliever and a believer who killed him will never be gathered together in Hell. [Sahih Muslim, Book 20, Hadith #4661]

-So Allah said if you suffer hunger and pain, and kill a kaafir
-Allah will never let the righteous deeds of a muhsineen to go to waste
-when Shaikh was on trial and he quoted the hadith above, the judge almost had a heart attack!
-because Shaikh’s DVD's were played in the old bailey
-this is a very famous hadith to encourage one to go to the battlefield

AYAH 121

Nor do they spend anything (in Allah's Cause) - small or great - nor cross a valley, but is written to their credit, that Allah may recompense them with the best of what they used to do (i.e. Allah will reward their good deeds according to the reward of their best deeds which they did in the most perfect manner). (At-Tawbah 9:121)

-So if you cross a valley, big or small, all this will be written on your credit
-Allah will never let the good deeds go to waste
-Allah says in the Quran: 99:7-8

So whosoever does good equal to the weight of an atom (or a small ant), shall see it. (Az-Zalzalah 99:7)

And whosoever does evil equal to the weight of an atom (or a small ant), shall see it. (Az-Zalzalah 99:8)

-So every kilometre and mile you travel, to go to the battlefield you will be credited
-Allah will reward their good deeds according to their deeds
-in order for a deed to be accepted and rewarded

-purify your intention, you do it for the sake of Allah and not the people

-a man can do it sincerely, but it is sincerely wrong
-because he did not do it according to the Sunnah of rasool (SAW)

AYAH 122

And it is not (proper) for the believers to go out to fight (Jihad) all together. Of every troop of them, a party only should go forth, that they (who are left behind) may get instructions in (Islamic) religion, and that they may warn their people when they return to them, so that they may beware (of evil). (At-Tawbah 9:122)

-so Allah is saying that some should stay behind and become Islamic scholars
-not all should go and die
-if everyone goes and dies and no one is a scholar, then who will solve the issues of the Ummah?
-like inheritance, and divorce
-the most complicated issue in Shariah, Shaikh’s point of view is the inheritance
-some scholars should go to the battlefield to give bayaan and encouragement
-and also to help them divide up the booty

-jihaad has rules and aims and objectives and we have covered all these topics
-Shaikh was given a 9 years sentence because of this
-and Shaikh saw this DVD of the aims and objective of jihaad in Nigeria selling like hotcakes
-and it had on there 'banned in UK', they were selling outside the masjid

-So jihad has aims and objectives and requirements such as:
-sanity, maturity and money

Nor (is there blame) on those who came to you to be provided with mounts, and when you said: "I can find no mounts for you," they turned back, while their eyes overflowing with tears of grief that they could not find anything to spend (for Jihad). (At-Tawbah 9:92)

-the prophet (SAW) took men on who were 15 years of age to the battlefield
-some Sahabah used to cry like a baby because they wanted to go to the frontline and kill the kuffaar
-like the ayah 9:92 tells us

-no wonder the kaafirs do not like this Surah
-they were desperate because they know the Hadeeth
-'if a Muslim kills a kaafir, this kaafir will take your place in the hellfire'

It has been narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger Allah (may peace be upon him) said: A disbeliever and a believer who killed him will never be gathered together in Hell. [Sahih Muslim, Book 20, Hadith #4661]

-So Allah said not all should go out and fight but some should become scholars
-one of the signs of the last day is that the scholars will die out or imprisoned or killed
-and then jahil people will become Shaikhs and lead the people astray

Abdullah ibn Amr ibn Al-Aas (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, “Allah will not take away knowledge from the people all at once. But, he will take away knowledge by taking away the ulama (one by one) till no scholar survives. The people will take the ignorant for leaders and will ask them and they will issue verdicts without knowledge, going astray (themselves) and leading (others) astray.” [Bukhari 100, Muslim 2673, Tirmidhi 2661, Ahmed 6521, Ibn e Majah 52]

-how many paltalk rooms have Shaikhs in there?
-if you go to some of these rooms you hear crap
-like dismantling the Shariah is minor kufr, you will find this in the MADkhalis room
-and such like you have a covenant of security with the kuffaar
-paltalk you can get rooms who give you haaq or bautil (falsehood)

AYAH 123

O you who believe! Fight those of the disbelievers who are close to you, and let them find harshness in you, and know that Allah is with those who are the Al-Muttaqun (the pious - see V.2:2). (At-Tawbah 9:123)

-Fight those who are close to you, means your kit and kin
-every Ummah there is a trustee

On the authority of Anas bin Malik (RA) who reported that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "For every Ummah there is an Amin (trustee) and the Amin (trustee) of our Ummah is Abu 'Ubaidah bin Al-Jarah." [Narrated by al-Bukhari (3744) and Muslim (2419)]

-and the prophet (SAW) said that Abu Ubaydah bin Jarrah was this trustee
-he cut his fathers head of in the battle of Badr
-he did not compromise his Deen

Narrated By Abu Said Al-Khudri...Allah's Apostle said, "The person who has favoured me most of all both with his company and wealth, is Abu Bakr. If I were to take a Khalil other than my Lord, I would have taken Abu Bakr as such, but (what relates us) is the Islamic brotherhood and friendliness. All the gates of the Mosque should be closed except the gate of Abu Bakr." [al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Uqbah ibn Aamir (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, “If there were to be a Prophet after me then he would be Umar ibn Al-Khattab.” [Ahmed 17410]

-how can you let your kaafir father kill Muslims?
-you need to practise al wala wal bara, you were told by Allah in 9:123
-fight those who are close to you, your brothers, uncles, fathers and such
-at the battle of Badr the prophet (SAW) had 70 Prisoners of War
-he (SAW) asked what shall he do because he held a shuraa meeting

...The Muslims that day (i.e. the day of the Battle of Badr) killed seventy persons and captured seventy. The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said to Abu Bakr and 'Umar (RA): What is your opinion about these captives? Abu Bakr said: They are our kith and kin. I think you should release them after getting from them a ransom. This will be a source of strength to us against the infidels. It is quite possible that Allah may guide them to Islam. Then the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: What is your opinion. Ibn Khattab? He said: Messenger of Allah. I do not hold the same opinion as Abu Bakr. I am of the opinion that you should hand them over to us so that we may cut off their heads. Hand over 'Aqil to 'Ali that he may cut off his head, and hand over such and such relative to me that I may but off his head. They are leaders of the disbelievers and veterans among them. The Messenger of Allah (SAW) approved the opinion of Abu Bakr and did not approve what I said The next day when I came to the Messenger of Allah (SAW), I found that both he and Abu Bakr were sitting shedding tears. I said: Messenger of Allah, why are you and your Companion shedding tears? Tell me the reason. For I will weep also, if not, I will at least pretend to weep in sympathy with you. The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: I weep for what has happened to your companions for taking ransom (from the prisoners). I was shown the torture to which they were subjected. It was brought to me as close as this tree. (He pointed to a tree close to him.) Then God revealed the verse: "It is not befitting for a prophet that he should take prisoners until the force of the disbelievers has been crushed..." to the end of the verse: "so eat ye the spoils of war, (it is) lawful and pure. So Allah made booty lawful for them." (Sahih Muslim, Book 19, Hadith #4360)

-Umar (RA) said chop their head off one by one
-he also said that let his brother from the womb chop their head off
-the prophet (SAW) did not accept Umar’s verdict but went with the verdict of Abu Bakr
-which was collect ransom and let them free
-then Umar seen the prophet and Abu Bakr crying
-because Allah sent down the ayah Surah 8:67

It is not for a Prophet that he should have prisoners of war (and free them with ransom) until he had made a great slaughter (among his enemies) in the land. You desire the good of this world (i.e. the money of ransom for freeing the captives), but Allah desires (for you) the Hereafter. And Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise. (Al-Anfal 8:67)

-so the opinion of Umar was the best of the opinions not the others
-so Allah said fight the kuffaar who are close to you, do not compromise on the Deen
-follow the instruction of Allah in 9:123

AYAH 124

And whenever there comes down a Surah (chapter from the Qur'an), some of them (hypocrites) say: "Which of you has had his Faith increased by it?" As for those who believe, it has increased their Faith, and they rejoice. (At-Tawbah 9:124)

This ayah is the hujaah of the people of ASWJ for eeman increasing and decreasing
-Hizbut-Tahrir say your eeman does not rise and fall
-there is another ayah 3:173 this ayah tells us that our eeman rises and falls

Those (i.e. believers) unto whom the people (hypocrites) said, "Verily, the people (pagans) have gathered against you (a great army), therefore, fear them." But it (only) increased them in Faith, and they said: "Allah (Alone) is Sufficient for us, and He is the Best Disposer of affairs (for us)." (Aali Imran 3:173)

-sometimes Shaikh hears a lot of crap coming from some people mouths
-he does not even know if you read the same Quran as him
-some of you, your Aqeedah is so bad, Shaikh does not know if your Quran just gathers dust
-some of you claim that, your eeman does not rise and fall

AYAH 125

But as for those in whose hearts is a disease (of doubt, disbelief and hypocrisy), it will add suspicion and doubt to their suspicion, disbelief and doubt, and they die while they are disbelievers. (At-Tawbah 9:125)

-the same way of the eeman of the Muslim
-when he attends a halaqa or a Surah he learn or knowledge, he gains
-but when the munafiq hears more knowledge his kufr and zandaqa grows more

AYAH 126

See they not that they are tried once or twice every year (with different kinds of calamities, disease, famine, etc.)? Yet, they turn not in repentance, nor do they learn a lesson (from it). (At-Tawbah 9:126)

-the munafiqoon and kafiroon never learn from it, like hurricane Katrina in America
-they deny that it was a punishment from Allah
-rather they say it was a natural disaster, this happened as soon as they invaded Iraq
-Allah says they cannot see it as a punishment, they just say its a natural disaster
-Allah says he puts them on trial once or twice a year

-With disease and famine, yet they do not learn a lesson from it, their hearts are sealed
-like the tsunami in Japan and China and such

Anas (RA) says, “I went into the presence of Aishah (RA) whilst someone else was seated with her. The person asked, ‘O Mother of the believers, relate to us regarding earthquakes (as to their cause)’ She turned her face away. I (Anas) asked her, ‘Relate to us regarding earthquakes, O Mother of the believers!’ She said, “O Anas, if I were to inform you thereof, you will live a sorrowful life and you will die in this state of grief and you will be raised on the Day of Judgement whilst this fear is in your heart.” I said, “O Mother, relate to me.” She then said, “When a woman removes her clothes in a house other than her husbands (an indication towards adultery), she tears the veil between her and Allah. When she applies perfume to please a male other than her husband, this will be a source of fire and a blemish for her. When the people then begin to commit adultery, consume alcohol and use musical instruments, Allah becomes enraged above the heavens and orders the Earth to shake them. If they repent and refrain, then it is good for them, otherwise Allah will cause it to fall upon them.” I asked, “Is this their punishment?” She said, “It is rather a mercy, means of blessings and admonishment for the believers, and a punishment, display of anger and torment for the unbelievers.” [Al-Mustadrak alaa al-Sahihain (4/561) No. 8575 and Kitab Al-Fitan (2/619) No. 1729]

-it’s a lesson for the believers and a punishment for the disbelievers
-because the believers will take heed and the disbelievers will not

-when the tsunami hit Indonesia, the BBC said that
-all the building were destroyed, but the masjid was still standing
-the BBC asked the people
-was the material used for the masjid used for your homes, they said yes
-what a sign of Allah

AYAH 127

And whenever there comes down a Surah (chapter from the Qur'an), they look at one another (saying): "Does any one see you?" Then they turn away. Allah has turned their hearts (from the light) because they are a people that understand not. (At-Tawbah 9:127)

AYAH 128

Verily, there has come unto you a Messenger (Muhammad SAW) from amongst yourselves (i.e. whom you know well). It grieves him that you should receive any injury or difficulty. He (Muhammad SAW) is anxious over you (to be rightly guided, to repent to Allah, and beg Him to pardon and forgive your sins, in order that you may enter Paradise and be saved from the punishment of the Hell-fire), for the believers (he SAW is) full of pity, kind, and merciful. (At-Tawbah 9:128)

-Allah is telling us in this ayah
-that Muhammad (SAW) wanted everyone to die as a Muslim and go to paradise
-so when Allah saw how the prophet (SAW) was filled with so much zeal
-Allah revealed Surah 12:103

And most of mankind will not believe even if you desire it eagerly. (Yusuf 12:103)

-why Allah revealed this ayah? because the prophet (SAW) had so much zeal
-when the prophet (SAW) went to Ta'if to give them Dawah
-they stoned the prophet and he bled so much

...The Angel of the Mountains called and greeted me, and then said, "O Muhammad! Order what you wish. If you like, I will let Al-Akh-Shabain (i.e. two mountains) fall on them." The Prophet said, "No but I hope that Allah will let them beget children who will worship Allah Alone, and will worship None besides Him." [al-Bukhari (3231) and Muslim (1795)]

-the angel came to him and said does he want the mountains to fall on them
-the prophet (SAW) said no, the reason why the prophet (SAW) did not accept this offer
-because Allah revealed the ayah 21:107

And We have sent you (O Muhammad SAW) not but as a mercy for the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). (Al-Anbiya 21:107)

-because he was sent as mercy to mankind
-he did not want the mountains to cover the people
-one day the prophet (SAW) heard a Jewish boy was on his death bed
-the prophet (SAW) ran and told him to testify
-that Allah is one and Muhammad is the messenger

Narrated By Anas: A young Jewish boy used to serve the Prophet and he became sick. So the Prophet went to visit him. He sat near his head and asked him to embrace Islam. The boy looked at his father, who was sitting there; the latter told him to obey Abu-l-Qasim and the boy embraced Islam. The Prophet came out saying: "Praises be to Allah Who saved the boy from the Hell-fire." [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 2, Book 23, Hadith #438]

-the little boy, looked at the prophet, and his dad, back and forth
-then the dad of the boy said take your Shahadah
-so the last thing the boy recited before the angel of death came to him he testified the Shahadah
-the prophet (SAW) came out of the house and was rejoicing praising Allah
-why? because he had so much zeal

-So Allah said there came a messenger to you from one of you, speaks like you and such
-he (SAW) wanted everyone to be rightly guided
-he was even at the deathbed at his uncle asking him to say the Shahadah

Narrated by Saeed bin Al-Musaiyyab from his father who said: “when the time of death of Abu Talib approached, Allah’s Apostle (SAW) went to him and found Abu Jahl bin Hisham and Abdullah bin Abi Umayyia by his side. Allah’s Apostle said to Abu Talib, ‘O uncle! Say: None has the right to be worshipped except Allah (La ilaha illAllah), a sentence with which I shall be a witness i.e. intercede for you before Allah’. Abu Jahl and Abdullah ibn Umaiyya said, ‘O Abu Talib! Are you going to denounce the religion of your father Abdul Muttalib?’, Allah’s Apostle kept on inviting Abu Talib to say ‘La ilaha illAllah’ (i.e. None has the right to Worshipped except Allah) while they Abu Jahl and Abdullah kept on repeating their statement till Abu Talib said as his last statement that he was on the religion of his father Abdul Muttalib and thus he refused to say ‘None has the right to be worshipped except Allah’ (La ilaha illAllah). [Sahih Bukhari (Arabic/English) Vol.2 pg.248 No.442]

AYAH 129

But if they turn away, say (O Muhammad SAW): "Allah is sufficient for me. La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), in Him I put my trust and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne." (At-Tawbah 9:129)

-the throne that is mentioned in this ayah in Surah Taubah
-the deviants say it is not a noun but glory

-there is 2 types of nouns:

-concrete and abstract (we can see and touch concrete but not abstract)
-the throne of Allah 'tala is concrete

Narrated Abu Said: The Prophet said, 'People will be struck unconscious on the Day of Resurrection and I will be the first to regain consciousness, and behold! There I will see Moses holding one of the pillars of Allah's Throne. I will wonder whether he has become conscious before me of he has been exempted, because of his unconsciousness at the Tur (mountain) which he received (on the earth)." Bukhari Volume 4, Book 55, Number 610

And the angels will be on its sides, and eight angels will, that Day, bear the Throne of your Lord above them. (Al-Haqqah 69:17)
