Q&A How to be sincere series [Revisited]
How to be sincere to Allah [Part 1]
Question 1: Shaikh I’m following the aqeedah of ahlus sunnah. There is a brother who is a saudi salafi, I see him every day and he told me it’s halal to report Muslims to the police or FBI because we are not living under shariah. He also said that my aqeedah harms the Muslims who live in the West. Can you explain deception of brother and his creed?
Answer 1: The madkhalis are so evil; they are prepared to lie on the prophet. Their aqeedah is weird and messed up; you can’t report your Muslim brother to the FBI or police. They said to join the UN is halal because the prophet signed a treaty with Quraish. Why are you so desperate so much you lie on the prophet!
O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians as Auliya' (friends, protectors, helpers, etc.), they are but Auliya' to one another. And if any amongst you takes them as Auliya', then surely he is one of them. Verily, Allah guides not those people who are the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong¬doers and unjust). (Al-Ma'idah 5:51)
Question 2: Assalamu alaikum shaikh, we know that after taubah has been done with ikhlaas, Allah SWT will wipe out our sins as if we have never committed them. But there is a hadith that says Allah SWT will remind the believers (on Judgement Day) about the sins they committed in dunya. But He will keep them veiled from the rest of the creation as He kept them hidden in dunya. Does it mean that Allah SWT will forgive and wipe out our sins and YET He will still remind us of them on the Day of Judgement even if we made sincere repentance and met the conditions of taubah?
Answer 2: Even though you will see your haram and Allah will show you your sins, it does not mean Allah will show it to others in akhira. Because Allah said if you hide the sins of your brothers He will hide your sins. So not because you will see your sins, Allah will show them to others.
Question 3: I read the news today that Saudi King aduwAllah has sacked his adviser rabbi Abdel Mohsen al-Obeikan who criticized the judges of trying to westernize the kingdom of kufr and also allowing women to vote and run for municipal elections 2015 (inshallah we don’t see them by that time). What was the response from the saudi salafi? What is your take on this?
Answer 3: I don’t believe in democracy and westernisation, so I don’t take sides with the sacked adviser. Western education is haram, but medicine, engineering are called international education western education is Darwinism, to say Jesus is god etc.
Question 4: Assalamu alaikum sheikh, I learnt that As-Saddique is a higher status with Allah than a Shaheed, Is it possible to die a saddique or was this only for Abu Bakr As-saddique (RA), if not how can someone die as a saddique? JZK
Answer 4: Abu Bakr was called as siddiq because he believed in al israa wal mi'raj, no one can be higher than the shaheed. That title was exclusive for Abu Bakr.
How to be Sincere To Allah [Part 2]
Question 1: Asalam alaikum shaikh, inshaAllah may Allah reward you for all your efforts can you please tell me what would be considered to be a valid reason for not been able to perform hajj?
Answer 1: Lack of money is a valid reason, also for a woman if she has no mahram but she can perform hajj with a group of women. Also if you do not have good health, if you’re in prison, lack of sanity is also another valid reason.
Question 2: I live in the bay area and I'm unemployed. Recently I have been offered a job which requires of me to make up or translate stories for kuffar or their relatives for asylum appeals or work visas, on bases that they were prosecuted abroad about their sexual orientation. These stories are not true, but the San Francisco immigration is more likely to accept the application is this job permissible?
Answer 2: Working as a translator for an army that has occupied a Muslim country makes you a kaafir, but if you work for applications for immigration or such this is not haram and shaikh does not know any shaikhs that says its haraam.
Question 3: Assalam alaikum shaikh, where can we find an up to date list of countries which are Darul Kufr? jzk
Answer 3: Shaikh will give you the definition of darul kufr/darul harb and you can make the judgement yourself. Any country that does not lock up Muslims for any reason, and does not kill them you cannot fight them such as Brazil, Jamaica, and Venezuela. But darul harb are countries that kill Muslims/occupy Muslim lands/lock up Muslims. In darul harb you don’t have to pay back a loan if you get one out, because Abu Baseer used to raid caravans of the Quraysh, and the prophet turned a blind eye. Shaikh cannot tell you about darul harb and its conditions because we may not be able to take it. How many people told you about the raid of the caravans? They hide it under the carpet even though it’s in The Sealed Nectar. The laws of darul harb is different to the laws of darul kufr and darul islam.
Question 4: Please define hikmah? Answer 4: Hikmah is wisdom, is to do things and say things in the right place, right time and right way. Allah says;
He grants Hikmah to whom He pleases, and he, to whom Hikmah is granted, is indeed granted abundant good. But none remember (will receive admonition) except men of understanding. (Al-Baqarah 2:269)
How to be sincere to the Holy Quran
Question 1: I want to devote my life to the study (to study in general), but all my friends disturb me by wanting to spend time with me. How do I get rid of them and others who disturb you when you want to work and to study?
Answer 1: You need to leave your environment and go to an institution and study the Quran for 16 hours. This is how to learn, but if you are in in darul harb and you're seeing the same faces/same thing every day this is not a good motivation. So pack your bags and go to a different country, Saudi or Egypt. Whichever one suits you.
Question 2: A woman is allowed to lead a man in salah? Do you mean only her husband or there are other men she can lead?
Answer 2: Ibn Sireen said a woman is allowed to lead the men in salah if they DO NOT know surah fatiha. Shaikh can do further research, this is ibn sireens fatwa. If a person cannot recite surah fatiha properly then the salah is batil.
Question 3: Shaikh, in a previous dars you said the Maqaam of the siddiq was exclusive to Abu Bark (r.a.) but Allah SWT says in surah Nisa: 69 "siddiqeen" which is plural. Also, Allah SWT says that Maryam bint Imran (as) is a "siddiqah" is surah Maidah: 75. Am I right to say that the maqaam of the siddiq was not exclusive to Abu Bakr (r.a.) and it is higher than the maqaam of the shaheed as have said many ulema? Answer 3: Abu Bakr was the only sahaba that was given the title of the siddique. But that does not mean that Umar/Ali were not siddique. It’s just that Abu Bakr was given that title, maybe you misunderstood sheikh, and the shaheed is siddique also; because they left their lives/family for the sake of Allah. Surah 4:69 is what the questioner is talking about.
And whoso obeys Allah and the Messenger (Muhammad SAW), then they will be in the company of those on whom Allah has bestowed His Grace, of the Prophets, the Siddiqûn (those followers of the Prophets who were first and foremost to believe in them, like Abu Bakr As¬Siddiq), the martyrs, and the righteous. And how excellent these companions are! (An-Nisa 4:69 Miqdam ibn Ma’dikarib (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, “There are with Allah six blessings for the martyr. (1) He is forgiven with the first drop of blood. (2) He is shown his abode in paradise. (3) He is preserved from the torment of the grave and is safe from the great fear on the Day of Resurrection. (4) A crown of honour ingrained with pearl is placed on his head, which is better than the world and what it contains. (5) He is married to seventy-two maidens (huris) of paradise. His intercession for his seventy relatives is accepted.” [Tirmidhi 1669, Ahmed 12013, Ibn e Majah 2799]
Question 4: Shaykh is it a bid'ah for one who wishes to make a dua after finishing the salah to raise his hands?
Answer 4: Those who say that you can raise your hands in a dua, they use the hadith of the prophet (saw) at the battle of badr, this is the hujjah they use. To raise your hands is not an issue, even though there is a bit of difference of opinion regarding this. Even though the salafis make this as a BIG ISSUE, they say 'bidah bidah'! We say this is not a major issue because this does not nullify your shahadah, but however, when you say 'spying on the mujahideen is ok' this makes you a kaafir. They make minor things major and major things minor. The scholars says, when you ask Allah for a BIG thing then raise your hands high to Allah, but if you ask for something small, then raise it low. To make a dua after every single salah is a bi'dah. When shaikh was in Africa, he was told to lead the salah at the masjid, sometimes shaikh used to make dua after salah sometimes he didn't, when he didn’t 'all hell broke loose'- They said to him we have had the tradition of making dua after salah for 300 years, shaikh was not educated like that in Saudi. The imams in Makkah/Madinah, have you seen them making dua after every Salah? Impossible there is no hadith that says so. When you go to a sufi masjid they shake the hands of the one who prayed next to them, if they did not do so they think it’s bi'dah and that your salah is not complete. This was the first time they have saw someone who does not make a dua after salah, this is maybe because they haven’t been to hajj/umrah. They also said they haven’t seen anyone wipe over their socks, this is hambali fiqh. For Hanafi fiqh, they only wipe over the socks if the socks are leather. Hambali fiqh says you can wipe over cotton socks. So making a dua after EVERY SALAH is a bi'dah, because you are misleading the people they will think it’s fardh to do so, and if you don’t do it your salah will be incomplete.
Question 5: Shaikh I know one of the best times for dua to be accepted is in sajdah but is it bid'ah to do this in each sajdah?
Answer 5: It’s not a bi'dah to do a dua in each sajadah, you can ask for 4 different things in 4 rakahs, but this must be in said in Arabic if you’re doing the dua’s in your fardh salah’s, if you make dua in your sunnah salat, then you’re allowed to make the dua in sajadah in any language. How to be sincere to the rasool (saw).
How to be sincere To The Rasool (saw)
Question 1: I was in a pal talk room called Oxymoron’s and a woman came in there and took mic and was encouraging intimate relationships between Muslim girls and Jewish men and claimed she is presently in such a relationship. What’s her status is she still a Muslim? She also praised and supported the kuffar urinating on dead mujahideen plus she mocked the hijab and said Islam is oppressive to women and doesn’t believe hijab is fard and the Quran is unfair to women regarding inheritance
Answer 1: This person has been on paltalk for a long time, and spreading her kufr. She's from a Turkish origin. Uthman (ra) said when girl commits zina she wishes every girl would do the same. She wants it to look like its normal, Jewish men are not lawful for muslim women.
O you who believe! When believing women come to you as emigrants, examine them, Allah knows best as to their Faith, then if you ascertain that they are true believers, send them not back to the disbelievers, they are not lawful (wives) for the disbelievers nor are the disbelievers lawful (husbands) for them. (Al-Mumtahinah 60:10)
You are not allowed to make halal what’s haram, like what she is doing (to marry/or commit zina) with Jewish men. Anyone who does this is a kaafir. If you support kuffar who disgrace Muslims, you have no wala and bara this makes you a kaafir. Allah says:
If you ask them (about this), they declare: "We were only talking idly and joking." Say: "Was it at Allah, and His Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and His Messenger (SAW) that you were mocking?" (At-Tawbah 9:65)
Make no excuse; you have disbelieved after you had believed. If We pardon some of you, We will punish others amongst you because they were Mujrimûn (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, criminals, etc.). (At-Tawbah 9:66)
This is because of that (evil) which your hands have sent before you. And certainly, Allah is never unjust to (His) slaves. (Aali Imran 3:182)
If you mock the hijaab this makes you kaafir too because of the surah 9:55-56 Also to say that Islam is oppressive to women, Allah said 3:182 he is not oppressive-, so this is kufr again. This person is pitiful/appalling and pathetic. This person does not believe in the day of judgement because, if they did they would fear Allah and stop.
So let not their wealth or their children amaze you (O Muhammad SAW); in reality Allāh's Plan is to punish them with these things in the life of the this world, and that their souls shall depart (die) while they are disbelievers. (At-Tawbah 9:55)
They swear by Allāh that they are truly of you while they are not of you, but they are a people (hypocrites) who are afraid (that you may kill them). (At-Tawbah 9:56)
Question 2: Shaikh can you please explain the hadith that says do not go against ruler as long as he allows you to pray. I'm aware of the hadith that says topple the leader that see clear kufr, so the first hadith is perhaps referring to a ruler that implements shariah? jzk
Answer 2: The hadith that says topple the leader if you see clear kufr, over rides all other hadiths.
The prophet (SAW) said: “…topple the leader if you see clear kufr.” [Sahih Bukhari, (Vol. 9, pg. 47, No. 7055) and Sahih Muslim, (Vol. 3, pg. 1469, No. 1709)]
It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (RA) said: A man came to the Messenger of Allah (SAW) and said: O Messenger of Allah, what do you think if a man comes wanting to take my property? He said: “Do not give him your property.” He said: What if he fights me? He said: “Fight him.” He said: What if he kills me? He said: “Then you will be a martyr.” He said: What if I kill him? He said: “He will be in Hell.” [Sahih Muslim (Vol. 1, pg. 124) No. 140]
Some leaders may allow you to pray such as UK/US but does that mean they are darul islam? Salah is just one aspect of the deen. Why don’t you ask the hadith scholar who comes into this room to teach you whether this hadith authentic or not, he will tell you it is da'eef. Allah says;
He (Allah) said (to him), "Verily, I am going to make you a leader (Prophet) of mankind." [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said, "And of my offspring (to make leaders)." (Allah) said, "My Covenant (Prophethood, etc.) includes not Zalimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers)." (Al-Baqarah 2:124)
THAT HADITH WAS EXPLAIN IN FOLLOWING MOSTALAH CLASS: http://www.authentictauheed.com/2012/03/18-mostalah-hadeeth-class-by-abu_14.html
Question 3: Assalam alaikum shaikh, you said before not to offer dawah to co-workers? Have you changed your stance? Jzk
Answer 3: You are not allowed to do dawah to co-workers if they do not show interest. Allah said:
Therefore remind (men) in case the reminder profits (them). (Al-A'la 87:9)
Question 4: Aswrwb can you give us some examples of the sunnah when a person was executed for a sin without being interrogated: such as when a person was killed for sleeping with his step mother, and when someone did black magic on Hafsa. Are there any other examples? Shukran wa JazakaAllah khair.
Answer 4: There are other examples for when people have been killed without interrogation, to make what is haraam, halal. The madkhalis put the conditions of istihlaal and think its only for major kufr. This is where they go wrong. Pagan Arabs used to inherit their father's wives (this custom is passed).
And marry not women whom your fathers married, except what has already passed; indeed it was shameful and most hateful, and an evil way. (An-Nisa 4:22)
Yahya related to me from Malik from Muhammad ibn Abd ar-Rahman ibn Sad ibn Zurara that he had heard that Hafsa, the wife of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, killed one of her slave-girls who had used sorcery against her. She was a mudabbara. Hafsa gave the order, and she was killed. [Malik Muwatta, Book 43, Number 43.19.14]
Narrated By Al-Bara' ibn Azib: I met my uncle who was carrying a standard. I asked him: Where are you going? He said: The Apostle of Allah (SAW) has sent me to a man who has married his father's wife. He has ordered me to cut off his head and take his property. [Abu Dawud 4442, Nisai 3334]
Now we don’t inherit father's wives. Shaikh 'Abdul-'Azeez Ibn 'Abdullaah Ibn Baaz said: "There is no Eemaan for the one who believes the laws of the people and their opinions are superior to the Hukm of Allah and His Messenger or that they are equal to it or that they resemble it or who leaves it or replaces it with fabricated laws and institutions invented by people, even if he believes that the laws of Allah are more encompassing and more just." – "Risaalat Wujoob Tah'keem Sharee'at Allah' Pg. 39, which follows the "Risaalat Tah'keem Al-Qawaneen" Published by "Daar Al-Muslim"
How to be sincere To The Ummah of Muhammad (saw) [Part1]
Question 1: Asalamu aleykum shaykh, you said Allah said to men “marry women whom you fancy”, is it the same for the women?
Answer 1: Yes it is the same for women also, you’re not allowed to get married without any chemistry. When it comes down to marriage, there is no back biting, if the brother is a drug addict, you must be honest and tell the sister. So this is a time when there is no back biting; she must be told negative traits.
Ibn Abass dressed up for his wives, he said he does it because Allah said women have the same rights over you.
And they (women) have rights (over their husbands as regards living expenses, etc.) similar (to those of their husbands) over them (as regards obedience and respect, etc.) to what is reasonable, but men have a degree (of responsibility) over them. And Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise. (Al-Baqarah 2:228)
A wife is permitted to call her husband to bed every 4 days (this is a right). When Shaikh was in South Africa, the sisters loved to hear this right of theirs, the men complained to Shaikh, they said it is a fitnaa, because their Tablighi Jamm'at go out for khurug for 40 days. But this is what SH learned in university.
Question 2: Assalamu Alaikum shaikh a brother proposed to a sister who is already engaged and she told him brother I am engaged, he said he does not accept the engagement because it has not reached the level of her parents so she is still not engaged and he has the right to propose to her. Is this correct?
Answer 2: Yes it is correct because the parents did not consent. But the parents must be on the aqeedah of ASWJ (not if they are deviants sects). If you do marry these, the marriage is bautil x 3. Engagement happens when the parents give consent. Some scholars say a widow or divorcee do not need parental consent (only virgins). This is Abu Hanifa's opinion so she can't be accused of doing zina.
Aisha reported that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, “If any woman marries without the consent of her guardian then her marriage is void. Her marriage is void. Her marriage is void. If he cohabits with her then for her is the dower with which her immodesty is turned lawful. And if they dispute with one another then the ruler is the guardian of one who has no gurardian”. [Tirmidhi 1104, Ahmed 24426, Abu Dawud 2083, Ibn e Majah 1879]
The issue of WALI is not as straight forward as we think, there are opinions about it. This is commonplace for Palestinian women every day.
Question 3: Sheikh, if I see an item I own at a relative’s house can I take it without telling them. To avoid conflict, it was my property to begin with. jzk
Answer 3: Yes you can take it because it belonged to you in the first place. Was it borrowed or stolen? The property didn't walk there, so it’s yours and you can have it back.
Question 4: Shaykh is it more accurate for the imam to recite rabbana walakal Hamd in the salah or is it more accurate for him to only let those following him recite it?
Answer 4: Those behind him should say “rabbana Lakal Hamd”, this is one opinion. The Maliki opinion is the imam says both. Shaikh says the imam says both but he whispers to himself (rabbana Lakal Hamd).
Question 5: What are some of the ways to counter al maghrib and kawthar institute which tries to portray itself as authentically Islamic. The instructors are also given unlimited travel restrictions around world to hold seminars which raises suspicion.
Answer 5: Shaikh Awlaki (rh) refuted al-maghrib institute and pronounced the owner as an agent, these do not preach jihad or Shariah, they might call mujahideen terrorists.
How to be sincere To The Ummah of Muhammad (saw) [Part2]
Question 1: Shaikh, rasulallah (saw) married his daughter (Fatima r.a.) to his blood cousin Ali Ibn Abi Taalib (r.a.) and they had wonderful kids. So what the shuyukh at the university have said does not apply to everybody. Am I right inshaAllah?
Answer 1: It does not apply to everyone, when Fatima married Ali they were not first cousins. The shaikhs were on about first cousins. Something might be halal but not recommended to do.
Question 2: What if weird men give you salam on the street, should you reply? Or can you walk off and say it quietly?
Answer 2: When men give salaam to sisters on the street, the sisters do not have to reply, they can say it quietly. Men do this do get familiar with sisters. Kuffar men do this also.
How to be sincere To The Leaders [Part 1]
Question 1: As Salaamuilaykum sheikh you said we shouldn't disassociate ourselves from Muslims who are weak, but you’ve heard of the saying “birds of a feather flock together” and your friends are a reflection of you”. So if a sister is weak in imaan and you try to help her but she continues the same behaviour. Would I be wrong to cut her off?
Answer1: The problem is if they cut them off they’ll become Christians. They need help and to be loved. You only cut them off if they are affecting your imaan and ask her to seek help from somewhere else. A weak Muslim needs the company of the strong Muslims to be strong again.
O you who believe! Be afraid of Allah, and be with those who are true (in words and deeds). (At-Tawbah 9:119)
(An-Nisa 4:69)
Question 2: Salam Alaykum, if a Muslim Khalif or king grants safety to a kaafir or kaafir nation, are all the knowing Muslims obligated to uphold this treaty no matter if the treaty is right or wrong?
Answer 2: If the caliph signs a treaty, then all the Muslims should adhere to it. But if a Muslim country signs it then it is not binding on the other Muslims, when the rasul (saw) signed the treaty it was only binding on the Muslims in Medina. Because Abu Basir and the others were in no man's land, and they were raiding the caravans of Quraish and the rasul (saw) turned a blind eye to him. The kuffar came begging for him to take them in.
And they (disbelievers) plotted [to kill 'Iesa (Jesus)], and Allah planned too. And Allah is the Best of the planners. (Aali Imran 3:54)
Question 3: Sheihk I was just wondering, wasn’t Anas ibn Malik the one who made the famous statement "By the Lord of the Kabaa, I have succeded" when he was martyred. Was it this sahabaa who made the mistake of not answering the call for Jihad? Jzk.
Answer 3: Anas wasn't the sahaba who didn't answer the call for jihaad. They were three, Ka'ab Ibn Malik, Hilal Ibn Umayya and Marara Ibn Rabe, these 3 were boycotted for 50 days.
How to be sincere To The Leaders [Part2]
Question 1: Assalamu Alaikum Shayk, what is the correct opinion regarding to what the Tabliqi Jamaat claim to be doing by reciting hadith after every salat and holding up gathering in the masjid after every fajr prayer, they call Masoora. Is this from the Sunnah and is there any hujjah for it?
Answer 1: It is bidah to recite hadith after every salah. Shaikh didn't make dua after Fajr salah when he was in Africa, and the Imam there said, “PLEASE RECITE IT TO PREVENT FITNAA.” Salah is an act of ibaadah. Reciting some hadeeth after some salah, this is fine but to require it after every single salah, it becomes a bid'ah.
