-375- The Battle of Badr

THE BATTLE OF BADR
By Shaikh Abdullah Faisal

Bismillah...

This battle was the 1st showdown between the believers and the mushrikeen
-this battle is called HISTORY'S TURNING POINT
-and the victory of this battle ensured the continuance of Islam

WHAT CAUSED THIS BATTLE TO START?
-when the believers migrated from Makkah to Madina, the kuffaar usurped their property
-a sahabah was told he could not go to Madina because he'd gotten rich there
-he asked if he could migrate if he left his money behind and they said YES
-so he left EVERY PENNY behind and migrated
-the kuffaar thought they were successful because they took his money
-they only think about money [their belly and their private parts]

When Bush and Blair invaded Iraq, it was to steal Muslim oil
-the love of money guides every decision that a kaafir makes
-they ask ‘WHAT IS IN IT FOR ME’ if you ask them to do something
-there is no such thing as a FREE LUNCH in a Capitalist society
-if a kaafir takes a woman to lunch, he wants sex with her; they don't do free lunches

A huge caravan was coming from Syria and 40 men were guarding this caravan
-the Rasool (saw) sent men ahead to seize the caravan for compensation
-of what the kuffaar did by taking their property when they were migrating
-Abu Sufyan found out that men were coming to seize "THE GREAT CARAVAN"
-and he sent for re-enforcement from Makkah
-the Makkans came with such vain glory [pomp, glitter, vain glory]
-1,000 came for this one caravan
-even the leaders of Makkah came [such as Abu Jahl]

Abu Sufyan took a different route to Yanbu by the coast to escape the ambush sent for him
-he told the Makkans 'go back, go back - don't fight the Muslims'
-he said this because if there was war, brothers would kill brothers,
-family members would kill other family members
-but Abu Jahl said he left his house to do this job, to fight the Muslims
-and finish off the Islamic State of Madina
-he wanted to wipe the Muslims off the face of the earth, once and for all
-his name was Abu Hakim but the prophet changed it to Abu Jahl

The infidels know about anatomy, chemistry and math
-but they are just intelligent, yet NOT WISE
-they can diagnose your problems but can't give you solutions to the problems
-the solution is ISLAM and they do not have Islam to offer as a solution
-they hate to use the words ISLAM, QUR'AN, MUHAMMAD (saw)

There is a Somali who won 2 medals for Somalia this year (2012)
-the kuffaar call him Mo Farah - they won't call him Muhammad Farah

KUFFAAR CALLING MUHAMMAD "Mo Farah"

SHAIKH IN UK
-He received a 9- year prison sentence for talking about jihad
-he would have gotten 30 years if he spoke on darul harb
-he didn't speak on it because his very wise wife urged him not to speak on darul harb
-Shaikh has to hide some of this knowledge from us for his own protection

DID THE PROPHET excoriate his Sahabah and tell them off? NO, he did not
-it is not the Sunnah to take sides with the kuffaar over our Muslim brothers and sisters

ANOTHER reason why Abu Jahl went to the BATTLE OF BADR:
-the shaytan came to him and incited him to fight the Muslims

And (remember) when Shaitān (Satan) made their (evil) deeds seem fair to them and said, "No one of mankind can overcome you this Day (of the battle of Badr) and verily, I am your neighbour (for each and every help)." But when the two forces came in sight of each other, he ran away and said "Verily, I have nothing to do with you. Verily! I see what you see not. Verily! I fear Allah for Allah is Severe in punishment." (Al-Anfal 8:48)

-the shaytan has the ability to make your EVIL deeds FAIR-SEEMING
-but he ran away because he saw the Angel Jibril coming with 1,000 angels
-they say HE DID A RUNNER [UK] and in US, they say AM OUT OF HERE / KICKED ROCKS
-he smelled trouble coming!
-but this is the same shaytan who incited them to fight the Muslims
-the shaytan will ALWAYS break his promises to you

When the Rasool found out that Quraish came out with 1,000 men, he held a Shura meeting
-the Ansars were there at the meeting but they didn't have to join this battle
-because it took place approximately 80 miles outside of Madina
-their pledge to him was to protect him INSIDE of Madina, not outside the city
-but this shows the sincerity of the Companions of Muhammad (saw)

Arabs have certain characteristics, such as:
1. FULFILLING A PROMISE
2. BRAVERY
3. LOOKING AFTER THEIR GUESTS

THE PLEDGES OF AQABAH :: http://realmuhammad.info/Aqabah.html

Sa'ad ibn Ubadah spoke on behalf of the Ansars at the Shura meeting

Miqdad ibn Amr said to the Holy Prophet: “O Messenger of Allah commands us with what Allah has ordained because you have our full support wholeheartedly. By Allah we will never say to you what Bani Israel said to Musa (i.e. you and your lord go and fight while we site and relax). But instead we say to you; you and your Lord go and fight and we shall be with you fighting for the cause of Allah. For by the one who has sent you with the truth if you march towards the highest mountains we shall march with you until we all reach it” (Seerah an-Nabawiyya by Ibn Hisham Vol 1. Pg.614 & Musnad Ahmad Vol.1 pg.390)

-we can't compare the Companions of Muhammad (saw) to those before him
-this is why the 1st three generations are called THE PIOUS PREDECESSORS

Imran bin Hussein said Allah Apostle (saw) said: “The best of my followers are those living in my generation (i.e. my contemporaries) and then those who will follow them and then those who will follow them” (Sahih Bukhari (Arabic/English) Vol. 5 pg.2 No.2)

March forward and capture Abu Sufyan’s caravan or you'll get victory at the wells of Badr

And (remember) when Allah promised you (Muslims) one of the two parties (of the enemy i.e. either the army or the caravan) that it should be yours, you wished that the one not armed (the caravan) should be yours, but Allah willed to justify the truth by His Words and to cut off the roots of the disbelievers (i.e. in the battle of Badr). (Al-Anfal 8:7)

-if they fought at Badr, they'd kill the leaders of kufr (the 'think-tank')
-when the kuffaar don't have think-tanks, they become headless chickens

Allah said:

But if they violate their oaths after their covenant, and attack your religion with disapproval and criticism then fight (you) the leaders of disbelief (chiefs of Quraish - pagans of Makkah) - for surely their oaths are nothing to them - so that they may stop (evil actions). (At-Tawbah 9:12)

Quraish presented the best part of the meat (the leaders of kufr came to fight)
-when the Rasool (saw) was marching to the battlefield, he camped at a place

In Battle of Badr, the Prophet (SAW) and his Companions were deployed in the nearest place to Badr's wells. But Companion Hubab ibn al-Mundhir (RA) was not satisfied with this. With great politeness he said: "O Messenger of Allah (SAW), has Allah inspired you to choose this very spot or is it stratagem of war and the product of consultation?" The Prophet (SAW) replied: "It is stratagem of war and consultation." Al-Hubab said: "This place is no good; let us go and encamp on the nearest water well and make a basin or reservoir full of water, then destroy all the other wells so that they will be deprived of the water." The Prophet (SAW) approved of his plan and agreed to carry it out. [Ibn Hisham: al-Sirah al-Nabawiyyah, 1/620; Ibn Kathir: al-Sirah al-Nabawiyyah, 2/402; al-Suhayli: al-Rawd al-Anif, 3/62; and al-Tabary: Tarikh al-Umam wa al-Muluk, 2-29]

-a Sahabah asked if his decision to stop to camp was a wahyi (revelation)
-or his personal opinion?
-he said it was his personal opinion and the Sahabah (Hubab) said it was not safe there
-he advised the prophet to camp at the wells of badr
-he was a military strategist, so the Rasool (saw) listened to him
-at the wells of Badr, the Rasool made a dua and cried

Narrated By Ibn Abbas: On the day of the battle of Badr, the Prophet said, "O Allah! I appeal to You (to fulfil) Your Covenant and Promise. O Allah! If Your Will is that none should worship You (then give victory to the pagans)." Then Abu Bakr took hold of him by the hand and said, "This is sufficient for you." The Prophet came out saying, "Their multitude will be put to flight and they will show their backs." (54.45) [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 5, Book 59, Hadith #289]

(Remember) when you sought help of your Lord and He answered you (saying): "I will help you with a thousand of the angels each behind the other (following one another) in succession." (Al-Anfal 8:9)

-his dua was answered in 8:9, saying He (swt) would help with 1,000 angels
-when Iblīs saw Quraish going to the battlefield,
-he say GO AND FIGHT, YOU WILL NOT BE DEFEATED
-but yet, when he saw the 1,000 angels coming, he ran away from the battlefield

And (remember) when Shaitān (Satan) made their (evil) deeds seem fair to them and said, "No one of mankind can overcome you this Day (of the battle of Badr) and verily, I am your neighbour (for each and every help)." But when the two forces came in sight of each other, he ran away and said "Verily, I have nothing to do with you. Verily! I see what you see not. Verily! I fear Allah for Allah is Severe in punishment." (Al-Anfal 8:48)

Iblīs was saying PROMISES WHICH WERE MADE TO BE BROKEN
-George Bush heard a voice telling him to invade Iraq

George Bush: 'God told me to end the tyranny in Iraq': http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2005/oct/07/iraq.usa

-the damage he did to America, Obama would need 50 years in the White House
-to repair the damage
-the strategy of the shaytan does NOT change
-the same shaytan told Quraish, Hitler and Bush
-the Iraq/Afghan war has gone on longer than the Vietnam War

"Who whispers in the breasts of mankind, (An-Nas 114:5)

"Of jinns and men." (An-Nas 114:6)

-the shaytan 'whispers' to those who will listen to him
-so history repeats itself; one reason is because the strategy of shaytan doesn't change

The kuffaar brought 20 camels and dancing girls (all in preparation to win this battle)
-the kuffaar plot the outcome without knowing what Allah 'tala predestined

And they (disbelievers) plotted [to kill 'Iesa (Jesus)], and Allah planned too. And Allah is the Best of the planners. (Aali Imran 3:54)

The Rasool (saw) picked a handful of dust and said: "confusion on their faces;"

You killed them not, but Allah killed them. And you (Muhammad SAW) threw not when you did throw but Allah threw, that He might test the believers by a fair trial from Him. Verily, Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower. (Al-Anfal 8:17)

-the sand went into the eyes of 1000 kaafirs but it was really Allah 'tala
-who through the sand
-this miracle of the Rasool was so important, it was recorded in the Qur'an

Three young men of the Helpers came out against them: ‘Awf and Mu‘wwadh — the sons of Harith, and ‘Abdullah bin Rawaha. But the Makkans yelled that they had nothing to do with them. They wanted the heads of their cousins. Upon this the Prophet [pbuh] asked ‘Ubaidah bin Al- Harith, Hamzah — his uncle, and his cousin ‘Ali [R] to go forward for the combat. The three duels were rapid. Hamzah killed Shaibah, while ‘Ali killed Al- Waleed. [Mishkat 2/343]

Quraish was begging for the Muslims to send out the Ansars' champions to fight
-they wanted to fight their peers not the 3 men they did not know
-but they really didn't want to fight the Ansars
-because they didn't want to open a new war-front in Madina
-so they were screaming WHO ARE YOU?
-they preferred to cut off the heads of their own cousins

~If you open too many warfronts, you cease to exist as a nation~

The Rasool (saw) called upon Hamza, Ali and Ubaidah to fight Quraish
-there were 313 Muslims and 1,000 Quraish but the morale of the Muslims were raised
-we only had 2 horses but the kuffaar had many more
-when you are on the back of a horse fighting, you can kill 3 times as many people

The Muslims put their tawakkul in Allah tala
-1000 angels came to help them, fighting alongside the ummah

(Remember) when you sought help of your Lord and He answered you (saying): "I will help you with a thousand of the angels each behind the other (following one another) in succession." (Al-Anfal 8:9)

-many kuffaar said they saw heads being cut off but saw no one chopping them off
-they witnessed and testified to this miracle
-70 captives were taken and 70 were killed

But what would Muhammad (saw) do with the captives?

...The Muslims that day (i. e. the day of the Battle of Badr) killed seventy persons and captured seventy. The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said to Abu Bakr and 'Umar (Allah be pleased with them): What is your opinion about these captives? Abu Bakr said: They are our kith and kin. I think you should release them after getting from them a ransom. This will be a source of strength to us against the infidels. It is quite possible that Allah may guide them to Islam. Then the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: What is your opinion. Ibn Khattab? He said: Messenger of Allah. I do not hold the same opinion as Abu Bakr. I am of the opinion that you should hand them over to us so that we may cut off their heads. Hand over 'Aqil to 'Ali that he may cut off his head, and hand over such and such relative to me that I may but off his head. They are leaders of the disbelievers and veterans among them. The Messenger of Allah (SAW) approved the opinion of Abu Bakr and did not approve what I said The next day when I came to the Messenger of Allah (SAW), I found that both he and Abu Bakr were sitting shedding tears. I said: Messenger of Allah, why are you and your Companion shedding tears? Tell me the reason. For I will weep ate, if not, I will at least pretend to weep in sympathy with you. The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: I weep for what has happened to your companions for taking ransom (from the prisoners). I was shown the torture to which they were subjected. It was brought to me as close as this tree. (He pointed to a tree close to him.) Then God revealed the verse:" It is not befitting for a prophet that he should take prisoners until the force of the disbelievers has been crushed..." to the end of the verse:" so eat ye the spoils of war, (it is) lawful and pure. So Allah made booty lawful for them." [Sahih Muslim (3/1383-1385) No. 1763]

THE SAHABAH’s OPINIONS:
-Umar - a man from Madina would chop off the head of his own blood brother [no compromise]
-Abu Bakr - set them free on ransom
-they can teach how to read and write if they have no money

It is not for a Prophet that he should have prisoners of war (and free them with ransom) until he had made a great slaughter (among his enemies) in the land. You desire the good of this world (i.e. the money of ransom for freeing the captives), but Allah desires (for you) the Hereafter. And Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise. (Al-Anfal 8:67)

-and Muhammad went with Abu Bakr's opinion but 8:7 came down saying
-we're not to have prisoners of war and then free them
-Umar knew fiqhul waaqi (current events)
-he knew the Arabs would come back later and take revenge

The kuffaar will always break their promises
-you can't trust a kaafir; they are coming on Judgment Day to pull a stunt on Allah 'tala
-but their talk is EMPTY
-the captives at Badr said 'don't kill us' but they came back the next year
-at the Battle of Uhud to kill Sahabah
-when Umar told the Rasool (saw) to chop off the heads of the captives,
-his opinion was the correct one

Until, when death comes to one of them (those who join partners with Allah), he says: "My Lord! Send me back, (Al-Mu'minun 23:99)

"So that I may do good in that which I have left behind!" No! It is but a word that he speaks, and behind them is Barzakh (a barrier) until the Day when they will be resurrected. (Al-Mu'minun 23:100)

A shockwave was sent to Makkah when the Muslims defeated Quraish
-all 313 Muslims at Badr will be in Paradise
-the sale of the goods from Abu Sufyan's caravan was sold to take revenge
-on us at the Battle of Uhud
-when we crush the kaafirs, we must crush them good because they seek revenge

LESSONS FROM THE BATTLE OF BADR

1. THE WEALTH OF THE KAAFIR IS FAIR GAME FOR THE MUSLIMS (if it is darul harb)
-Abu Sufyan was in no man's land so his wealth was fair game at the battle

2. SINCERITY OF THE SAHABAH
-even though they were not required to march outside of Madina, they marched anyway
-because they loved Allah 'tala, His Rasool (saw) and the deen
-they said they would never speak to Muhammad the way the Jews spoke to Prophet Musa
-this is because they were the BEST GENERATION

Narrated By Abdullah (bin Masud): On the day of Badr, Al-Miqdad said, "O Allah's Apostle! We do not say to you as the children of Israel said to Moses, 'Go you and your Lord and fight you two; we are sitting here, (5.24) but (we say). "Proceed, and we are with you." That seemed to delight Allah's Apostle greatly. [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 6, Book 60, Hadith #133]

3. THE IMPORTANCE OF SHURA
-always have war councils before you launch an attack

Allah said:

…and consult them in the affairs. Then when you have taken a decision, put your trust in Allah, certainly, Allah loves those who put their trust (in Him). (Aali Imran 3:159)

4. THE CONCEPT OF AN ISLAMIC STATE IS HORRIFYING, TERRIFYING and PETRIFYING FOR THE KUFFAAR

-when Abu Sufyan came to fight the Muslims and his caravan escaped,
-he said GO BACK, GO BACK
-but Abu Jahl said he had to destroy the Islamic State of Madina
-so kaafirs say an Islamic State is a safe-haven for 'terrorists'

MALI HAS BECOME A SAFE HAVEN FOR TERRORISTS:
http://www.ngrguardiannews.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=95081:mali-is-becoming-terrorists-safe-haven-ban-warns&catid=76:world&Itemid=560

5. THE PROPHET MUHAMMAD (saw) was NOT A DICTATOR
-he listened to his Sahabah who had military experience
-only Allah 'tala can be a dictator

The Prophet (SAW) replied: "It is stratagem of war and consultation." Al-Hubab said: "This place is no good; let us go and encamp on the nearest water well and make a basin or reservoir full of water, then destroy all the other wells so that they will be deprived of the water." The Prophet (SAW) approved of his plan and agreed to carry it out. [Ibn Hisham: al-Sirah al-Nabawiyyah, 1/620; Ibn Kathir: al-Sirah al-Nabawiyyah, 2/402; al-Suhayli: al-Rawd al-Anif, 3/62; and al-Tabary: Tarikh al-Umam wa al-Muluk, 2-29]

6. ALLAH TA’LA BLESSED HIS MESSENGER WITH A MIRACLE
-dust in the eyes of the kuffaar
-to cause their morale to go down

You killed them not, but Allah killed them. And you (Muhammad SAW) threw not when you did throw but Allah threw, that He might test the believers by a fair trial from Him. Verily, Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower. (Al-Anfal 8:17)

7. ALLAH TA’LA WILL HELP YOU ON THE BATTLEFIELD IF YOU ARE SINCERE
-when the Rasool (saw) asked for helped, He (swt) sent 1000 angels

(Remember) when you sought help of your Lord and He answered you (saying): "I will help you with a thousand of the angels each behind the other (following one another) in succession." (Al-Anfal 8:9)

-if you're fighting for democracy or socialism, why would Allah 'tala help you?
-Tariq ibn Ziyad only took 12,000 men to conquer Spain
-don't pay attention to quantity, but quality

8. THE PROMISES OF SHAYTAN ARE FAKE
-he uses people, then dumps them

And (remember) when Shaitān (Satan) made their (evil) deeds seem fair to them and said, "No one of mankind can overcome you this Day (of the battle of Badr) and verily, I am your neighbour (for each and every help)." But when the two forces came in sight of each other, he ran away and said "Verily, I have nothing to do with you. Verily! I see what you see not. Verily! I fear Allah for Allah is Severe in punishment." (Al-Anfal 8:48)

9. AL WALAA WAL BARAA WAS ENTRENCHED AND EMBEDDED IN THE HEARTS OF THE BELIEVERS BY THE RASOOL (saws) and ALLAH 'TALA

-at this battle, some killed their fathers, or saw their sons and could have killed them
-every ummah has a trustee... he doesn’t compromise on the deen

On the authority of Anas bin Malik (RA) who reported that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "For every Ummah there is an Amin (trustee) and the Amin (trustee) of our Ummah is Abu 'Ubaidah bin Al-Jarah." [Narrated by al-Bukhari (3744) and Muslim (2419)]

SHAIKH IN AFRICA
-he spoke about Abu Ubaidah Al-Jarrah
-a brother told Shaikh he was not so strong in his deen as to be able to kill his father
-and Aisha said Muhammad (saw) would be happy for him (Abu Ubaidah) to be a caliph

10. TAKING CAPTIVES IS COUNTER-PRODUCTIVE
-on the battlefield, this is counter-productive
-when we take captives, who will watch over them and feed them?

Ibn Umar (RA) reported that the Prophet (SAW) said, “The believer eats in one intestine, while the disbeliever eats in seven intestines.’ [al-Bukhari (5393) and Muslim (2061)]

-if we're fighting Bashar Assad, just kill his military
-so we can give the food to the mujahideen
-the kuffaar have big bellies
-in Syria, people line up 1 mile just to buy a loaf of bread
-so just kill the kuffaar with 1 bullet in the head

They slow you down
-who will watch over them
-this is why Rasool (saw) was excoriated to take captives
-the idiots in Syria are hardcore kuffaar (these prefer to worship Assad and not Allah)
-what would we accomplish with captives?
-if they know how to make IEDs then you can take them as captive; he'd be useful

"It is not befitting for a prophet that he should take prisoners until the force of the disbelievers has been crushed..." to the end of the verse: "so eat ye the spoils of war, (it is) lawful and pure. So Allah made booty lawful for them." (Sahih Muslim, Book 19, Hadith #4360)

11. KAAFIRS WILL ALWAYS BREAK THEIR PROMISES
-a kaafir said ‘I WILL NEVER FIGHT AGAINST YOU AGAIN’
-but he came back the next year to kill Sahabah

Allah said:

Until, when death comes to one of them (those who join partners with Allah), he says: "My Lord! Send me back, (Al-Mu'minun 23:99)

"So that I may do good in that which I have left behind!" No! It is but a word that he speaks, and behind them is Barzakh (a barrier) until the Day when they will be resurrected. (Al-Mu'minun 23:100)

~ SINS ARE ADDICTIVE and LEOPARDS DON'T CHANGE THEIR SPOTS ~

12. THE HIKMAH OF UMAR WAS SPOT ON
-he knew fiqhul waaqi (current events)
-we're not to pass a fatwa unless we know the fiqhul waaqi

SHAIKH IN AFRICA
-he had to ask what the problems were in the community so he knew what to speak about
-he had to ask the Imams for info so he could better guide the people

Two Sahabah can have 2 different hearts
-the Prophet didn't try to change them
-he allowed them to be as they were (one soft and one harsh)

13. REVENGE IS THE MODUS OPERANDI OF THE KUFFAAR
-this is their culture
-not just Arabs but ALL the kuffaar

14. RAMADAN IS THE MONTH OF GLORY AS WE ACCOMPLISHED GREAT VICTORIES IN THIS MONTH
-this battle is called HISTORY'S TURNING POINT
