On the authority of Umar ibn al-Khattab (RA), who said: One day while we were sitting with the Messenger of Allah (SAW) there appeared before us a man whose clothes were exceedingly white and whose hair was exceedingly black; no signs of journey were to be seen on him and none of us knew him. He walked up and sat down in front of the Prophet (SAW), with his knees touching against the Prophet’s (SAW) and placing the palms of his hands on his thighs he said, "O Muhammad, tell me about Islam." The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "Islam is to testify that there is no deity worthy of worship but Allah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, to perform prayers, to give zakat, to fast in Ramadhan, and to make the pilgrimage to the House if you are able to do so." He said, "You have spoken rightly"; and we were amazed at him asking him and saying that he had spoken rightly. He [the man] then said, "Tell me about iman." The Prophet (SAW) said, "It is to believe in Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, and the Last Day, and to believe in divine destiny (qadr), both the good and the evil of it." He said, "You have spoken rightly." He [the man] said, "Then tell me about ihsan." The Prophet (SAW) said, "It is to worship Allah as though you see Him, and if you do not see Him, then (knowing that) truly He sees you." He said, "Then tell me about the Hour." The Prophet (SAW) said, "The one questioned about it knows no better than the questioner." He said, "Then tell me about its signs." The Prophet (SAW) said, "That the slave-girl will give birth to her mistress, and that you will see barefooted, naked destitute shepherds competing in constructing lofty buildings." Then he [the man] left, and I stayed for a time. Then he [the Prophet (SAW)] said, "O Umar, do you know who the questioner was?" I said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "It was Jibreel, who came to teach you your religion." It was related by Muslim.

This hadeeth is also by Umar (r.a)

We have 11 lessons from this hadeeth
-but we will explain it first

The Angel Jibril came to the prophet (saw) in the masjid and asked him 'what is Islam'?
-i asked my shaikh Abdullah Tuwayjiri in university the same question
-he said Islam is to surrender to Allah with tawheed,
-to submit to Allah with obedience
-and to renounce shirk and the people of shirk

This is the legitimate definition for Islam and any other is false
-those who say Islam means peace are the modernist and they want to appease the kuffaar

The prophet (saw) told Jibril Islam is:

But Islam is not just based upon these 5 pillars
-the 6th pillar of Islam is jihad
-because Allah used the same words for fasting and jihad
-so the prophet only mentioned to Jibril the 5 most important pillars

O you who believe! Observing As-Saum (the fasting) is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become Al-Muttaqun (the pious - see V.2:2). (Al-Baqarah 2:183)

Jihad (holy fighting in Allah's Cause) is ordained for you (Muslims) though you dislike it, and it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you. Allah knows but you do not know. (Al-Baqarah 2:216)

"The head of the matter is Islam, its pillar is the prayer and its peak is jihad." Then he (SAW) said, "Shall I not tell you of the foundation of all of that?" I said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." So he took hold of his tongue and said, "Restrain this." I said, "O Prophet of Allah, will we be taken to account for what we say with it?" He (SAW) said, "May your mother be bereaved of you, O Muadh! Is there anything that throws people into the Hellfire upon their faces — or: on their noses — except the harvests of their tongues?" [Sunan Tirmidhi (5/11) No. 2616, Sunan Ibn Majah (5/116) No. 3973, Musnad Ahmad (5/231) No. 22069]

Another pillar of Islam is to enjoin the right and forbid the wrong
-so Islam does not just have 5 pillars
-only the most important were mentioned by the prophet to Jibril

-and jihad is a pillar

It has been narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: One who died but did not fight in the way of Allah nor did he express any desire (or determination) for Jihad died the death of a hypocrite. [Sahih Muslim, Book 20, Hadith 4696]

-and that is why the prophet said the hadeeth above

To look after your parents is another pillar of Islam
-so i warned you against entertaining the idea that Islam only has 5 pillars

-it has 2 parts
1. la ilaha- negation

2. illallah- affirmation

The atheist is practising half of the shahada which is the negation
-but he does not practice affirmation

To believe in Allah is not enough to make you a Muslim
-you have to reject the taghoot first
-you can’t be a Muslim until you reject the taghoot
-and because of this Allah said:

There is no compulsion in religion. Verily, the Right Path has become distinct from the wrong path. Whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah, then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that will never break. And Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower. (Al-Baqarah 2:256)

-he who believes in Allah and rejects the taghoot
-so they go side by side
-even the Christian Arabs believe in Allah
-and those in Malaysia took the gov't to court to allow them to use Allah in their churches
-because they realised it is the only legitimate name for Allah
-so to believe in Allah alone does not make you special
-rejecting the taghoot is what makes you special
-this is the uphill road

That is why Allah said in the ayah above that the one that rejects the taghoot
-and then believes in Allah
-has hold fast to the handhold that will not break
-the taghoot is the false deity, manmade isms and schisms,
-the kaafir court houses, the kuffaar armies,
-the kaafir army is taghoot and so you are not allowed to join them

First British Muslim soldier killed in 'War on Terror' :

Those who believe, fight in the Cause of Allah, and those who disbelieve, fight in the cause of Taghut (Satan, etc.). So fight you against the friends of Shaitan (Satan); Ever feeble indeed is the plot of Shaitan (Satan). (An-Nisa 4:76)

Imam Ahmad recorded that `Abdullah bin Tha`labah said, "Abu Jahl asked for (Allah's judgment) when he said upon facing the Muslims, `O Allah! Those among us who severed the relations of the womb and brought forth what we do not recognize, then destroy him this day.''' This was also recorded by An-Nasa'i in the Book of Tafsir (of his Sunan) and Al-Hakim in his Mustadrak, and he said, "It is Sahih according to the criteria of the Two Shaykhs, and they did not record it. ''. Similar statements were reported from Ibn `Abbas, Mujahid, Ad-Dahhak, Qatadah, Yazid bin Ruwman and several others. As-Suddi commented, "Before the idolators left Makkah for Badr, they clung to the curtains covering the Ka`bah and supplicated to Allah for victory, `O Allah! Give victory to the exalted among the two armies, the most honoured among the two groups, and the most righteous among the two tribes.'

Even the kuffaar of Makkah believed in Allah
-Allah said:

And if you (O Muhammad SAW) ask them: "Who has created the heavens and the earth," they will certainly say: "Allah." Say: "All the praises and thanks be to Allah!" But most of them know not. (Luqman 31:25)

When the hypocrites come to you (O Muhammad SAW), they say: "We bear witness that you are indeed the Messenger of Allah." Allah knows that you are indeed His Messenger and Allah bears witness that the hypocrites are liars indeed. (Al-Munafiqun 63:1)

-the hypocrites' shahada was thrown back to them
-they will be at the bottom of hell

Verily, the hyprocrites will be in the lowest depths (grade) of the Fire; no helper will you find for them. (An-Nisa 4:145)

The shahada has 7 conditions:

-of what the shahada stands for
-so if you recite it without knowing it, you are still not a Muslim

And those whom they invoke instead of Him have no power of intercession; except those who bear witness to the truth (i.e. believed in the Oneness of Allah, and obeyed His Orders), and they know (the facts about the Oneness of Allah) . (Az-Zukhruf 43:86)

-the grave worshippers don’t know the meaning of la ilaha illallah
-that is why they worship the grave
-this is why they are kuffaar
-their first condition of shahada is missing
-you need to have knowledge of it and act upon it
-and there is no excuse for worshipping false deities

We don’t give the excuse of ignorance for those who worship a false deity
-and those who preach so have no proof for it
-Allah did not give the Christians the excuse of ignorance
-Allah said:

Surely, disbelievers are those who said: "Allah is the third of the three (in a Trinity)." But there is no ilah (god) (none who has the right to be worshipped) but One Ilah (God -Allah). And if they cease not from what they say, verily, a painful torment will befall the disbelievers among them. (Al-Ma'idah 5:73)

-the prophet (saw) said to a man my father and yours are in hellfire

Narrated from Anas (RA) that a man said: “O Messenger of Allah, where is my father?” He said: “In Hell.” When he turned away he called him back and said: “My father and your father are in Hell.” [Sahih Muslim (Vol. 1, pg. 191) No. 203]

-even though my father died before i was born

-so if you wake up one morning and have doubts in your faith, you have lost your shahada
-and because of that Allah said:

Only those are the believers who have believed in Allah and His Messenger, and afterward doubt not but strive with their wealth and their lives for the Cause of Allah. Those! They are the truthful. (Al-Hujurat 49:15)

-when you have doubts in your faith it is like contaminated water
-and so Allah will not accept it

In their hearts is a disease (of doubt and hypocrisy) and Allah has increased their disease. A painful torment is theirs because they used to tell lies. (Al-Baqarah 2:10)

-the disease of doubt makes you lose your faith

-the prophet's uncle Abu Talib did not testify so he died a kaafir
-even Allah testified to the shahada

Allah bears witness that La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), and the angels, and those having knowledge (also give this witness); (He is always) maintaining His creation in Justice. La ilah illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. (Aali Imran 3:18)

-and the angels too, so who are you not to testify
-so Abu Talib died a mushrik

Narrated By Al-Abbas bin 'Abdul Muttalib: That he said to the Prophet "You have not been of any avail to your uncle (Abu Talib) (though) by Allah, he used to protect you and used to become angry on your behalf." The Prophet said, "He is in a shallow fire, and had It not been for me, he would have been in the bottom of the (Hell) Fire." [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 5, Book 58, Hadith #222]

-Abbaas asked the prophet if he helped his uncle
-and he said yes, he asked Allah to give him the lightest punishment

Ibn 'Abbas reported: The Prophet (may peace be upon him) said: Among the inhabitants of the Fire Abu Talib would have the least suffering, and he would be wearing two shoes (of Fire) which would boil his brain. [Sahih Muslim, Book 1, Hadith #0413]

It is not (proper) for the Prophet and those who believe to ask Allah's Forgiveness for the Mushrikun (polytheists, idolaters, pagans, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah) even though they be of kin, after it has become clear to them that they are the dwellers of the Fire (because they died in a state of disbelief). (At-Tawbah 9:113)

-he did not make dua for Allah to forgive him because this is haram
-so you are not allowed to beg for forgiveness for your relatives who died as kuffaar

-therefore you are not allowed to have one foot in Islam and one foot outside

O you who believe! Enter perfectly in Islam (by obeying all the rules and regulations of the Islamic religion) and follow not the footsteps of Shaitan (Satan). Verily! He is to you a plain enemy (Al-Baqarah 2:208)

-Allah asked us to enter into Islam wholeheartedly

O you who believe! Obey Allah and obey the Messenger (Muhammad SAW), and those of you (Muslims) who are in authority. (And) if you differ in anything amongst yourselves, refer it to Allah and His Messenger (SAW), if you believe in Allah and in the Last Day. That is better and more suitable for final determination. (An-Nisa 4:59)

-Allah said when we have a dispute to refer to Qur'an and Sunnah

But no, by your Lord, they can have no Faith, until they make you (O Muhammad SAW) judge in all disputes between them, and find in themselves no resistance against your decisions, and accept (them) with full submission. (An-Nisa 4:65)

Al-Hafiz Abu Ishaq Ibrahim bin `Abdur-Rahman bin Ibrahim bin Duhaym recorded that Damrah narrated that two men took their dispute to the Prophet (SAW), and he gave a judgment to the benefit of whoever among them had the right. The person who lost the dispute said, “I do not agree.” The other person asked him, “What do you want then”
He said, “Let us go to Abu Bakr As-Siddiq.” They went to Abu Bakr and the person who won the dispute said, “We went to the Prophet (SAW) with our dispute and he issued a decision in my favor.” Abu Bakr said, “Then the decision is that which the Messenger of Allah (SAW) issued.” The person who lost the dispute still rejected the decision and said, “Let us go to `Umar bin Al-Khattab.” When they went to `Umar, the person who won the dispute said, “We took our dispute to the Prophet (SAW) and he decided in my favor, but this man refused to submit to the decision.” `Umar bin Al-Khattab asked the second man and he concurred. `Umar went to his house and emerged from it holding aloft his sword. He struck the head of the man who rejected the Prophet’s decision with the sword and killed him. Consequently, Allah revealed, [فَلا وَرَبِّكَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ حَتَّى يُحَكِّمُوكَ فِيمَا شَجَرَ بَيْنَهُمْ] (But no, by your Lord, they can have no Faith, until they make you judge in all disputes between them... (An-Nisa 4:65)). [Tafseer Ibn Katheer (2/351-352)]

-He said we will never believe until we make the prophet a judge between our disputes

-some of you condemn the shirk of grave worshipping but neglect the shirk of haakimiyya
-or claim it is a minor kufr; this is hypocrisy
-just like the Jews and Christians
-if you insult a gay they say you are homophobic,
-but if you insult the prophet Muhammad (saw) they say freedom of speech
-this is how hypocritical the kaafir is

-to single out Allah 'tala for your devotion
-this is there the Goofi Sufis went astray

Say (O Muhammad SAW): "Verily, my Salat (prayer), my sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allah, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). (Al-An'am 6:162)
"He has no partner. And of this I have been commanded, and I am the first of the Muslims." (Al-An'am 6:163)

-to love what Allah loves and hates what Allah 'tala hates
-Saudi Salafis went astray on this point, as well

-they pass fatawa that to kill the mujahideen is the greatest jihad

Studying these conditions show us who are the REAL and FAKE Muslims
-but to know this, you MUST know the conditions of Shahada
-the Saudi Salafis spy for the kuffaar; these become apostates then

-we can't treat Islam like a plate of food, taking only what we want
-we're to enter into Islam, wholeheartedly

O you who believe! Enter perfectly in Islam (by obeying all the rules and regulations of the Islamic religion) and follow not the footsteps of Shaitan (Satan). Verily! He is to you a plain enemy (Al-Baqarah 2:208)

REMINDER: those who believe that Jesus was ONLY a prophet and there is only 1 God,
-are still kaafir
-because they did not accept Muhammad (saw) as a Prophet and the Final Messenger
-he MUST believe in Muhammad because the Shahada includes: Muhammadur-rasul Allah
-you must accept Allah 'tala AND His (swt) Rasool

It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "By Him in Whose hand is the life of Muhammad, any Christian or Jew who heard about me and died whilst regecting me, such a person is in the hell fire to abide there forever." [Sahih Muslim (1/134) No. 153 and Musnad Ahmad (2/350) No. 8594]

-salah is a gift to us
QUESTION: The man who abandons salah, is he a kaafir?
ANSWER: The man who abandons salah in its totality is a kaafir
-see 9:11

But if they repent, perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat) and give Zakat, then they are your brethren in religion. (In this way) We explain the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) in detail for a people who know. (At-Tawbah 9:11)

-the scholars differ on this but WE BELIEVE this is the correct aqeeda

The Rasool (pbuh) had some POWs and some of them were taking Shahada
-Sahabah said, 'what if their Shahada is fake?'
-this is why Allah 'tala revealed 9:11

-taubah from shirk
-establish 5 daily prayers
-pays zakah

Jabir (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, “Between a man (Muslim) and shirk and disbelief lies neglect of salah.” [Sahih Muslim (1/88) No. 82, Sunan Tirmidhi (5/13) No. 2620, Sunan Abu Dawud (4/219) No. 4678, Sunan Ibn Majah (2/181) No. 1078, Sunan An-Nasa'i (1/232) No. 463, Musnad Ahmad (3/370) No. 15021]

Abdullah ibn Shaqiq Uqayli (RA) reported, saying “The companions of Muhummad (SAW) did not regard neglect of any of the deeds as disbelief as they did (neglect) of Salah." [Sunan Tirmidhi (5/14) No. 2622 and Mustadrak al-Haakim (1/48) No. 12 who said it met the conditions of al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Jabir reports that the Prophet (SAW) said, "Between a person and disbelief is discarding prayer." (Related by Ahmad, Muslim, Abu Dawud, at-Tirmizhi and Ibn Majah.)

...And those who hoard up gold and silver [Al-Kanz: the money, the Zakat of which has not been paid], and spend it not in the Way of Allah, -announce unto them a painful torment. (At-Tawbah 9:34)

"Whoever is made wealthy by Allah and does not pay the Zakat of his wealth, then on the Day of Resurrection his wealth will be made like a bald-headed poisonous male snake with two black spots over the eyes. The snake will encircle his neck and bite his cheeks and say, 'I am your wealth, I am your treasure.' (Bukhari Volume 2, Book 24, Number 486.)

O you who believe! Observing As-Saum (the fasting) is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become Al-Muttaqûn (the pious - see V.2:2). (Al-Baqarah 2:183)

-we can't impose fasting on kids till they reach puberty
-those too old or sick are not required to fast

`Ata' said, "One should break the fast on account of illness, whatever it may be, as Allah has said (in Al-Baqarah 2:184)." And Hasan and Ibrahim said, "concerning the woman who gives suck and the one with child, when they fear about themselves or their child, they should break the fast, then fast on other days. And as to the very old man when he cannot bear fasting. Anas, after he became old, fed one who was needy, for a year or two daily with bread and meat, and broke the fast." [Sahih Bukhari (6/25)]

Abu Huraira (RA) reported: Allah's Messenger (SAW) addressed us and said: O people, Allah has made Hajj obligatory for you; so perform Hajj. Thereupon a person said: Messenger of Allah, (is it to be performed) every year? He (the Holy Prophet) kept quiet, and he repeated (these words) thrice, whereupon Allah's Messenger (SAW) said: If I were to say "Yes," it would become obligatory (for you to perform it every year) and you would not be able to do it. Then he said: Leave me with what I have left to you, for those who were before you were destroyed because of excessive questioning, and their opposition to their apostles. So when I command you to do anything do it as much as it lies in your power and when I forbid you to do anything then abandon it. [Sahih Muslim, Book 7, Hadith #3095]

-hajj once in our lifetime is enough

And Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah) to the House (Ka'bah) is a duty that mankind owes to Allāh, those who can afford the expenses (for one's conveyance, provision and residence); and whoever disbelieves [i.e. denies Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah), then he is a disbeliever of Allāh], then Allāh stands not in need of any of the 'Alamīn (mankind and jinns). (Aali Imran 3:97)

Ali (RA) narrated that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said: “He who possess enough food for the trip, a means of transportation to reach to Makkah, and yet does not perform Hajj, then he dies, he would then die as a Jew or a Christian...” [Sunan Tirmidhi (3/176) No. 812, Bayhaqi in 'Shu'ab al-Iman' (5/443) No. 3692, Musnad al-Bazzaar (3/87-88) No. 861]

-how do you refute the atheist?
-you are a creationist and not a revolutionist
-you don’t believe in Darwinism
-and whether you like it or not you have to unite with the Christians to fight atheism

The Muslims and Christians have a long history of unity against a common enemy
-at the battles of Ain Jaloot, Qaadisiyyah and in the Afghan war

-we all have a different finger print, iris and DNA
-our biology is so organised and Allah intelligently designed us

If you are asked how you worship Allah
-say you worship Him with a combination of 3 things:

-love for Allah, fear of hellfire and hope for paradise

If you are asked how do you know if Allah accepted your good deeds?
-the answer is you become a better Muslim e.g. after coming from hajj

What are your duties to Allah?
-to single Him out in ibaadah without ascribing partners to Him
-and loving what He loves and hating what He hates

Say (O Muhammad SAW): "Verily, my Salāt (prayer), my sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allāh, the Lord of the 'Alamīn (mankind, jinns and all that exists). (Al-An'am 6:162)

-even when you are getting married you do so for the sake of Allah
-you marry a person because they will draw you nearer to Allah
-you don’t fight for any ism or schism but for Allah because your dying is for Allah

Another duty to Allah is to reject the taghoot
-as He said:

There is no compulsion in religion. Verily, the Right Path has become distinct from the wrong path. Whoever disbelieves in Tāghût and believes in Allāh, then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that will never break. And Allāh is All-Hearer, All-Knower. (Al-Baqarah 2:256)

-they were created from light
-they do not have desires- don’t eat, sleep or have jima3
-they do not have the diseases of envy, jealousy etc.
-Angels are pure

As for the statement of Zamakshari that Iblees was an angel, we do not go by this
-because Allah said:

And (remember) when We said to the angels; "Prostrate to Adam." So they prostrated except Iblīs (Satan). He was one of the jinns; he disobeyed the Command of his Lord. (Al-Kahf 18:50)

-Iblees was a jinn
-so stick to the tafseer of ibn Kathir

Allah said the angels don’t disobey Him
-they do what they are commanded by Allah

O you who believe! Ward off from yourselves and your families a Fire (Hell) whose fuel is men and stones, over which are (appointed) angels stern (and) severe, who disobey not, (from executing) the Commands they receive from Allāh, but do that which they are commanded. (At-Tahrim 66:6)

-he is responsible for revealing to the messengers
-he revealed the books out of which only the Qur'an was promised protection
-he also brings down natural disasters on the wayward
-e.g. the flood on the people of Nuh

-he is responsible for the rain, oxygen and other mercies of Allah

-he will blow into the trumpet;

1. To bring down horror and terror
-this will cause the pregnant woman to deliver her baby

2. To cause death

3. To cause resurrection

-he is the keeper of paradise
-so you are allowed to call your kids the names of angels

He said he was commanded by Allah not to open paradise to anyone but Muhammad (saw)
-after he enters then the rest can
-therefore Adam was in heaven not in paradise

-they are responsible for dumping the wayward into the hellfire
-Allah said:

We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! (Al-'Alaq 96:18)

-they are 19 in number and the kuffaar laughed about this

Over it are nineteen (angels as guardians and keepers of Hell). (Al-Muddaththir 74:30)

And We have set none but angels as guardians of the Fire, and We have fixed their number (19) only as a trial for the disbelievers, in order that the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) may arrive at a certainty [that this Qur'ān is the truth as it agrees with their Book i.e. their number (19) is written in the Taurāt (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] and the believers may increase in Faith (as this Qur'ān is the truth) and that no doubts may be left for the people of the Scripture and the believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease (of hypocrisy) and the disbelievers may say: "What Allāh intends by this (curious) example ?" Thus Allāh leads astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none can know the hosts of your Lord but He. And this (Hell) is nothing else than a (warning) reminder to mankind. (Al-Muddaththir 74:31)

-they said they can gang up against the angels and defeat them
-they are Mu’tazilite and use their human brain to analyse this
-but Allah said this number is just a fitna for the kuffaar

-one is on the right, the other on the left
-the former writes down the good things you do
-the latter writes down the bad things

When you make salah and give salaam you are giving it to the angels
-some give salaam once to the right
-they refuse to give salaam to the one on the left
-your salah is still accepted because your salaam on the right is fard

They even write down your intentions
-and Allah rewards you for them

They play back for you your deeds
-the way the cameras record a theft
-but the recording angels is supernatural
-yet it will be played back to you on judgement day
-Allah said:

So whosoever does good equal to the weight of an atom (or a small ant), shall see it. (Az-Zalzalah 99:7)

And whosoever does evil equal to the weight of an atom (or a small ant), shall see it. (Az-Zalzalah 99:8)

If you hide the secret sins of your Muslim brother Allah will hide your sins on judgement day

Abu Hurayrah (RA) reported that Allahs Messenger (SAW) said “If anyone relieves a Muslims hardship in this world then Allah will remove from him a hardship of the hereafter. And if anyone conceals a Muslims fault then Allah will conceal (his fault) in the world and the hereafter. And Allah goes on helping the slave as long as the slave helps his brother. [Tirmidhi 1430, Muslim 2699, Abu Dawud 4946, Ahmed 7431]

-so you are not allowed to expose a Muslim except he is a wicket scholar
-preaching dodgy aqeeda
-but some Muslims brag about their sins
-these will not be forgiven

-they will question you in the grave

1. Who is your Lord?

2. Who is your prophet?

3. What's your religion?

-this is called the 3 principles (usool Thalatha)
-this is one of the most important books ever written by Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahhab

When these angels ask you these 3 questions and you can’t answer
-they will hit you with a hammer that can cause mountains to disintegrate
-all hear the scream except man and jinn (ath thaqalain)

-they were sent to the people of Babylon
-they took knowledge to them that can be used for good or bad
-but the Jews used it for bad
-because when your heart is pure you use knowledge for good
-but if it is corrupted you do otherwise

They followed what the Shayātin (devils) gave out (falsely of the magic) in the lifetime of Sulaimān (Solomon). Sulaimān did not disbelieve, but the Shayātin (devils) disbelieved, teaching men magic and such things that came down at Babylon to the two angels, Hārût and Mārût, but neither of these two (angels) taught anyone (such things) till they had said, "We are only for trial, so disbelieve not (by learning this magic from us)." And from these (angels) people learn that by which they cause separation between man and his wife, but they could not thus harm anyone except by Allāh's Leave. And they learn that which harms them and profits them not. And indeed they knew that the buyers of it (magic) would have no share in the Hereafter. And how bad indeed was that for which they sold their ownselves, if they but knew. (Al-Baqarah 2:102)

Misery likes company and that is why people try to break up marriages
-the hadeeth about these 2 angels that they are hanging between heaven and earth
-is a fabricated hadeeth

-he is the keeper of hellfire
-he does not smile to anyone, not even the prophet (saw)
-but he will speak to people

It almost bursts up with fury. Every time a group is cast therein, its keeper will ask: "Did no warner come to you?" (Al-Mulk 67:8)

-the angel of death use to appear in human form
-but people used to abuse him

Narrated By Abu Huraira: The angel of death was sent to Moses and when he went to him, Moses slapped him severely, spoiling one of his eyes. The angel went back to his Lord, and said, "You sent me to a slave who does not want to die." Allah restored his eye and said, "Go back and tell him (i.e. Moses) to place his hand over the back of an ox, for he will be allowed to live for a number of years equal to the number of hairs coming under his hand." (So the angel came to him and told him the same). Then Moses asked, "O my Lord! What will be then?" He said, "Death will be then." He said, "(Let it be) now." He asked Allah that He bring him near the Sacred Land at a distance of a stone's throw. Allah's Apostle (SAW) said, "Were I there I would show you the grave of Moses by the way near the red sand hill." [al-Bukhari (1339) and Muslim (2372)]

-prophet Musa punched him and knocked his eyes out
-3 opinions why he did this:

1. He feared death
2. He did not want his grave to be known
3. He wanted to die on a holy land

-the 3rd is the accurate one and the choice of imam Bukhari

-when we say we believe in the Torah and injeel we mean the original forms
-not what they have today which are corrupted text
-Allah said:

Then woe to those who write the Book with their own hands and then say, "This is from Allāh," to purchase with it a little price! Woe to them for what their hands have written and woe to them for that they earn thereby. (Al-Baqarah 2:79)

And the hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you. (Leviticus 11:6) King James Version

-this verse has caused many people in Europe to become atheist
-it is the cow that chews its cud
-not the rabbit
-rabbits do not regurgitate their food

Another Biblical mistake:

God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? (Numbers 23:19) King James Version

And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. (Genesis 6:6) King James Version

The Bible says God doesn't repent then contradicts itself in Genesis 6:6
-Jehovah's Witness - you must bring point by point to them
-each contradiction

ANSWER: Allah 'tala didn't promise to protect the Bible; only the Qur'an

Verily We: It is We Who have sent down the Dhikr (i.e. the Qur'ān) and surely, We will guard it (from corruption). (Al-Hijr 15:9)

-there are MANY more contradictions but we've already discussed these in a previous class

-there are differences between a Prophet and a Messenger
-a messenger has a book revealed to him while a prophet does not have
-a messenger comes with his Shari’ah law while the prophet follows the Shari’ah of the messenger

Ibrahim has the Scrolls [book]
Musa had the Torah [book]
But Yusuf and Adam were prophets not messengers

MUHAMMAD (pbuh) was the greatest of these 5
-IBRAHIM was the 2nd greatest of the Messengers
-the scholars agree because we say his name in every salah

MUSA is said to be the 3rd greatest because almost all of the Qur'an is about him
-but some scholars disagree

Some may wonder that we're making DISTINCTIONS but we're not
-Allah said in 2:253

Those Messengers! We preferred some to others; to some of them Allāh spoke (directly); others He raised to degrees (of honour); and to 'Iesa (Jesus), the son of Maryam (Mary), We gave clear proofs and evidences, and supported him with Rûh-ul-Qudus [Jibrael (Gabriel)]. (Al-Baqarah 2:253)

We say Noah was 4th and Essa was 5th

Kaafirs say they are possessed by the Holy Spirit but they are not
-they are possessed by jinn
-angels do NOT possess people

-some of the other names for this day are:

THE LAST DAY [no day comes after this day]

I swear by the Day of Resurrection; (Al-Qiyamah 75:1)

YAWM AL-QIYAMAH [day of resurrection]

YAWM UL BA'TH [awakening]

YAWM UL KUROOJ [coming out]

YAWM UL FATH [decision day] [only Allah knows the day]

Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed time, (An-Naba 78:17)

In the dunya, we have different aqeeda
-some say Jesus is God, some say Muhammad was not a prophet to the Jews
-there are various aqeeda even in our ummah
-Allah 'tala will decide who was right and who was wrong
-in the last days, we split ourselves into splinter groups

But they (men) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its belief. (Al-Mu'minun 23:53)

YAWM UDDEEN [Judgment Day]

YAWM TAGHABUN (day of mutual loss and gain)

(And remember) the Day when He will gather you (all) on the Day of Gathering, that will be the Day of mutual loss and gain (i.e. loss for the disbelievers as they will enter the Hell-fire and gain for the believers as they will enter Paradise). And whosoever believes in Allāh and performs righteous good deeds, He will remit from him his sins, and will admit him to Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise) to dwell therein forever, that will be the great success. (At-Taghabun 64:9)

Only Allah 'tala knows when JUDGMENT DAY is
-no one can intercede for someone without Allah’s permission
-no one can veto the decision of Allah whom He (swt) sends to Hellfire or Heaven

He knows what happens to them (His creatures) in this world, and what will happen to them in the Hereafter. And they will never compass anything of His Knowledge except that which He wills. His Kursī extends over the heavens and the earth, and He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them. And He is the Most High, the Most Great. [This Verse 2:255 is called Ayat-ul-Kursī.] (Al-Baqarah 2:255)

We have explained what is Islam? and stopped at the subject of emaan (faith)
-and actions are part of our emaan

...And Allah would never make your faith (prayers) to be lost (i.e. your prayers offered towards Jerusalem). Truly, Allah is full of kindness, the Most Merciful towards mankind. (Al-Baqarah 2:143)

Abu Huraira narrated the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "Faith has over seventy branches or over sixty branches, the most excellent of which is the declaration that there is no god but Allah, and the humblest of which is the, removal of what is injurious from the path: and modesty is the branch of faith." [al-Bukhari (8) and Muslim (56)]

-Allah said:

Those (i.e. believers) unto whom the people (hypocrites) said, "Verily, the people (pagans) have gathered against you (a great army), therefore, fear them." But it (only) increased them in Faith, and they said: "Allah (Alone) is Sufficient for us, and He is the Best Disposer of affairs (for us)." (Aali Imran 3:173)

-Allah made the sahabah grow in emaan
-and it proves that our emaan rises and falls

Emaan has 3 dimensions:
-it is conviction of the heart,
-declaration with the tongue and
-implementation with the limbs

So emaan is not only conviction of the heart
-thinking this will make the pharaoh a Muslim
-because Allah said he believed in his heart

And they belied them (those Ayat) wrongfully and arrogantly, though their ownselves were convinced thereof [i.e. those (Ayat) are from Allah, and Musa (Moses) is the Messenger of Allah in truth, but they disliked to obey Musa (Moses), and hated to believe in his Message of Monotheism]. So see what was the end of the Mufsidun (disbelievers, disobedient to Allah, evil-doers, liars.). (An-Naml 27:14)

If you say emaan is declaration with the tongue only,
-you have included the shaytan in Islam
-so all three dimensions have to be present

[Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Give me then respite till the Day they (the dead) will be resurrected." (Al-Hijr 15:36)

-Allah's documentation of His knowledge and everything will happen according to this
-Allah created the pen as the first thing

Narrated by Ibn Abbas who related “The first thing which Allah created was the Pen, and He said to it, ‘Write.’ It responded, ‘What should I write?’ He said, ‘Write everything that will occur until the Day of Resurrection.’ (Abu Dawood 4700)

Abdullah ibn Amr (RA) reported having heard from Allah’s Messenger (SAW) who said, “Allah decreed the destinies before He created the heavens and earth by fifty thousand years.” [Tirmidhi 2163, Ahmed 6590, Muslim 2653]

-the people who deny qadr are not inside the fold of Islam
-because it is a pillar of faith

Ata' bin Abi Rabah said, "I went to Ibn `Abbas and found him drawing water from the well of Zamzam. The bottom of his clothes was wet with the water of Zamzam and I said to him, `They talked about Al-Qadar (some denied it).' He asked, `Have they done this' I said, `Yes.' He said, `By Allah! This Ayah was revealed only about them, ("Taste you the touch of Hell!'' Verily, We have created all things with Qadar.) They are the worst members of this Ummah. Do not visit those who fall ill among them or pray the Funeral prayer for those among them who die. If I saw one of them, I would pluck out his eyes with these two fingers of mine.'' [Tafsir Ibn Kathir (7/483)]

Verily, We have created all things with Qadar (Divine Preordainments of all things before their creation, as written in the Book of Decrees Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz). (Al-Qamar 54:49)

We call the people who deny qadr, the Qadariyya
-denying qadr is like denying judgement day or Allah
-when you deny one prophet you are guilty of denying all prophets

...The pens have been taken up and the scrolls have dried up.” [Sunan Tirmidhi (4/667) No. 2516 and Musnad Ahmad (2/293) No. 2669]

-this hadeeth means everything is written

-this means nothing escapes Allah
-but according to the Christians this happens sometimes
-this is not true
-because not a leave falls without Allah's ilm

And with Him are the keys of the Ghaib (all that is hidden), none knows them but He. And He knows whatever there is in (or on) the earth and in the sea; not a leaf falls, but he knows it. There is not a grain in the darkness of the earth nor anything fresh or dry, but is written in a Clear Record. (Al-An'am 6:59)

-so if you woke up for fajr this morning, that action was created by Allah

"While Allah has created you and what you make!" (As-Saffat 37:96)

-the mu'tazilites are the Qadariyya and claim Allah did not create our actions
-and they like to paint a worst case scenario like the Soham murder
-Ian Huntley raped 2 beautiful 10-year old girls and then killed them

-they do this to make you guilty about your aqeeda
-just like a goofi soofi who says to you where was Allah before He created the Arsh
-he thinks he has checkmated you

The Most Beneficent (Allah) Istawa (rose over) the (Mighty) Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty). (Ta-Ha 20:5)

-but he checkmated himself
-don’t answer this question say ‘Allahu A3lam’

Allah creates all our actions
-and if you believe mankind creates his own actions, this is shirk
-because you are claiming there are creators besides Allah and rejecting:

"While Allah has created you and what you make!" (As-Saffat 37:96)

You are denying Al Khaliq; He is the One and only creator
-if all our actions are created by Allah, why is there reward and punishment?
-this is because you had the free will to do the acts
-no one held a gun at your head to do them
-you chose to wake up for fajr so Allah will reward you

There are the Jabriyya who believe man should be stripped off any responsibility
-they believe if a man commits an evil act it is Allah who predestined it
-the pagans of Makkah blamed Allah for their shirk
-but how can you when you are a free human being exercising your free will

Those who took partners (in worship) with Allah will say: "If Allah had willed, we would not have taken partners (in worship) with Him, nor would our fathers, and we would not have forbidden anything (against His Will)." Likewise belied those who were before them, (they argued falsely with Allah's Messengers), till they tasted of Our Wrath. Say: "Have you any knowledge (proof) that you can produce before us? Verily, you follow nothing but guess and you do nothing but lie." (Al-An'am 6:148)

It is reported that a man stole, he said to Umar: "I stole because this was the Qada’ of Allah (Divine Will of Allah)." Umar said to him: "I am going to chop off your hand because it was the Qada’ of Allah (Divine Will of Allah)." [Ibn Taymiyyah in ‘Minhaj as-Sunnah an-Nabawiyyah’ (3/234)]

When Umar was the caliph a man stole and said it was predestined for him
-Umar said to him it is also predestined for us to chop off your hand
-people say i cheated on my wife because it was qadr
-these people are hypocrites because if a man rapes their daughter
-they will never go to the court house and say set him free, it was predestined
-you will never do this
-so why do you use predestination to set yourself free?

Narrated By Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, 'There is no 'Adha (no disease is conveyed from the sick to the healthy without Allah's permission), nor Safar, nor Hama." A bedouin stood up and said, "Then what about my camels? They are like deer on the sand, but when a mangy camel comes and mixes with them, they all get infected with mangy." The Prophet said, "Then who conveyed the (mange) disease to the first one?" [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 7, Book 71, Hadith #615]

-the prophet (saw) said no disease is contagious
-meaning no disease can catch you unless it was predestined by Allah
-there was a guy who slept with his infected wife and did not become HIV infected

...Abu 'Ubaida bin Al-Jarrah said (to 'Umar), "Are you running away from what Allah had ordained?" 'Umar said, "Would that someone else had said such a thing, O Abu 'Ubaida! Yes, we are running from what Allah had ordained to what Allah has ordained. Don't you agree that if you had camels that went down a valley having two places, one green and the other dry, you would graze them on the green one only if Allah had ordained that, and you would graze them on the dry one only if Allah had ordained that?" At that time 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Auf, who had been absent because of some job, came and said, "I have some knowledge about this. I have heard Allah's Apostle saying, 'If you hear about it (an outbreak of plague) in a land, do not go to it; but if plague breaks out in a country where you are staying, do not run away from it.'" 'Umar thanked Allah and returned to Medina. [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 7, Book 71, Hadith 625]

One day Umar heard there was a pandemic in the city and he turned away
-when asked he said he was running away from the qadr of disease
-to the qadr of good health

Anas ibn Malik reported that someone asked, “O Messenger of Allah, shall I tether it and trust in Allah or untie it and place trust in Allah”? He said, “Tie it and trust in Allah." [Sunan Tirmidhi (4/668) No. 2517, Sahih Ibn Hibban (2/510) No. 731, Shu'ab al-Iman al-Bayhaqi (2/428) No. 1161]

-so you are not allowed to marry someone who is HIV positive
-this is insanity

1. Destiny is called qadr and predestination is called qadaa
2. Destiny can be changed with your daily dua but predestination cannot be changed
-because the prophet (saw) said:

Salman (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, ‘Nothing averts the decree except supplication and nothing but piety prolongs life.” [Sunan Tirmidhi (4/448) No. 2139, Musnad Ahmad (5/280) No. 22466]

Those who deny destiny will not receive the intercession of the prophet (saw)

Jabir (RA) narrated the Messenger (SAW) said: "Two kinds of people will not receive my intercession (on the Day of Judgment) the Qadariyah and the Murji’a." [al-Tabarani in 'al-Mu’jam al-Awsat' (6/69) No. 5817]

Ibn Abbas (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, “Two groups of my Ummah have no share in Islam the Murji'a and the Qadariyah." [Sunan Tirmidhi (4/454) No. 2149 and Sunan Ibn Majah (1/42) No. 62]

Your duty as a Muslim is to fear Allah to the best of your ability and strive
-don’t worry about what Allah has destined
-don’t say to yourself there is no point for me to strive
-this is what shaytan whispers to you
-but it is not your business

Every laylatul qadr Allah tells the angels how many babies will be born
-and how many people will die over a period of one year
-destiny is Allah's secret knowledge

Say (O Muhammad SAW): "I possess no power of benefit or hurt to myself except as Allah wills. If I had the knowledge of the Ghaib (unseen), I should have secured for myself an abundance of wealth, and no evil should have touched me. I am but a warner, and a bringer of glad tidings unto people who believe." (Al-A'raf 7:188)

He [the man] said, "Then tell me about ihsan." The Prophet (SAW) said, "It is to worship Allah as though you see Him, and if you do not see Him, then (knowing that) truly He sees you."

-ihsan means God-consciousness
-some scholars translate it to mean the perfection of faith
-but i won’t accept this because how can emaan be perfect

The prophet (saw) said ihsan is to worship Allah as if you are seeing Him
-and even though you are not seeing Him, He is seeing you
-it means your God-consciousness is so strong you worship Allah as if He is seeing you

-he believes in Islam and practices it but might have a major weakness like zina or khamr
-you are not allowed to be a Khawarij and make takfir on these people
-because no sin takes you outside of Islam unless it is major kufr or major shirk
-e.g. to insult Allah, dabble in black magic, spy for the kuffaar take you outside of Islam
-to deny an ayah of the Qur'an, a pillar of Islam or emaan, to ridicule an aspect of Islam

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "An adulterer, at the time he is committing illegal sexual intercourse is not a believer; and a person, at the time of drinking an alcoholic drink is not a believer; and a thief, at the time of stealing, is not a believer." Ibn Shihab said: `Abdul Malik bin Abi Bakr bin `Abdur-Rahman bin Al-Harith bin Hisham told me that Abu Bakr used to narrate that narration to him on the authority of Abu Huraira. He used to add that Abu Bakr used to mention, besides the above cases, "And he who robs (takes illegally something by force) while the people are looking at him, is not a believer at the time he is robbing (taking).[al-Bukhari (5578) and Muslim (57)]

Meaning of the hadeeth above:
-if he is in the act, he is a Muslim but not a Mu’min
-so if he should die committing the act, he died as a Muslim but not as a Mu’min
-therefore because he did not have the chance to make tawbah, his will is with Allah
-it is left to Him to punish him or forgive him

-is a believer who abstains from major haram
-he is a Muslim who does not miss his prayers and does not commit zina
-or if he commits a major haram it is not his character
-he stays away from major haram
-he might commit it but it is not a trait in his character
-so every Mu’min is a Muslim but not every Muslim is a Mu’min
-the latter is at a higher level

-he abstains from major, minor haram and even the makrooh
-he is called the 'God-conscious believer'
-these are those who give away in charity
-zakah is not a burden on them

And whoso obeys Allah and the Messenger (Muhammad SAW), then they will be in the company of those on whom Allah has bestowed His Grace, of the Prophets, the Siddiqun (those followers of the Prophets who were first and foremost to believe in them, like Abu Bakr As-Siddiq), the martyrs, and the righteous. And how excellent these companions are! (An-Nisa 4:69)

The Muhsin is always making dhikr because he realizes that Allah 'tala is ALWAYS noticing him

and the remembering (praising, etc.) of (you by) Allāh (in front of the angels) is greater indeed [than your remembering (praising, etc.) Allāh in prayers, etc.]. And Allāh knows what you do. (Al-'Ankabut 29:45)

He said, "Then tell me about the Hour." The Prophet (SAW) said, "The one questioned about it knows no better than the questioner." He said, "Then tell me about its signs." The Prophet (SAW) said, "That the slave-girl will give birth to her mistress, and that you will see barefooted, naked destitute shepherds competing in constructing lofty buildings."

-but he said he didn't know
-and the angel who asked the question didn't know, either

The Only Owner (and the Only Ruling Judge) of the Day of Recompense (i.e. the Day of Resurrection). (Al-Fatihah 1:4)

Tafseer of the Master of Judgment Day:

a) Only Allah knows the day

b) No one can intercede without Allah's permission

c) No one can veto Allah's decision and He sends to heaven or hell whom He wants

-even Jesus was asked when is Judgment Day and he did not know
-he also said not even the angels know

But of that day and hour knoweth no [man], no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. (Matthew 24:36) King James Version

For Christians to say Judgment Day is May 21, 2011
-this shows you how hypocritical they are

a) A slave will give birth to her mistress [breakdown of child/parent relationship]
-such as in the US, a child can divorce his parent
-some kuffaar will refuse to have kids because the kids have the power

b) Bare-footed, naked, destitute herdsmen constructing tall buildings
-we see this now in Dubai (the tallest building in the world, 2012)
-the Saudis then said they'd build an even taller building in Jeddah

The Companions didn't live to see the fulfilment of this prophecy
-but we are living in 2012, we're living to see this fulfilment

The major signs are yet to come [such as Gog and Magog or the Dajjaal]
-but we've seen the minor signs

c) Men will become few in number and there will be 50 women to1 man

d) Killing will be rife

e) Scholars will die

f) Knowledge will disappear and ignorance will reappear

g) Zina will be rife

h) As will drinking alcohol

i) Women will stop having kids

j) People will stop paying zakah

k) Women prefer to raise dogs than kids

l) People lose their sense of shame / no haya

m) Women will be dressed but still naked (see through dresses)

n) People will drop down and die suddenly

o) A man will go to his bed as a Muslim and wake up as a kaafir

p) The worst of men will become leaders [Bush and Blair, examples]

q) Amaana will disappear / no one left we can trust

r) Holding on to Islam is like holding on to hot-fired coal

s) All the nations will unite against you to wipe you out

t) Children will become angry

u) People believe liars and disbelieve in truthful men

v) Natural disasters will become rife [earthquakes, hurricanes, etc.]

w) People will practice tasleem al khaas [they only give or answer salaam to those they know]

x) Voices will be raised in the masjid

y) Men will become feminine and wear silk

z) A man and woman will commit zina in public and people will 'cheer them on'

Umar said, 'I stayed for a time" then the man left
-who was the questioner?
-The Rasool (saws) replied that was the Angel Gabriel who came to teach you your religion

2. ITS GOOD ADAB TO DRESS PROPERLY WHEN YOU GO TO GIVE DAWAH [neat and clean as the Angel Gabriel's clothes]

-the angel arrived when the Sahabah were there; he was punctual

-in the Arab world, you can't sit with your feet pointing towards another person;
-this is embarrassing

Narrated By Abu Uthman: I got the news that Gabriel came to the Prophet while Um Salama was present. Gabriel started talking (to the Prophet and then left. The Prophet said to Um Salama, "(Do you know) who it was?" (or a similar question). She said, "It was Dahiya (a handsome person amongst the companions of the Prophet)." Later on Um Salama said, "By Allah! I thought he was none but Dihya, till I heard the Prophet talking about Gabriel in his sermon." (The Sub-narrator asked Abu 'Uthman, "From where have you heard this narration?" He replied, "From Usama bin Zaid.") [Sahih Bukhari (4/206) No. 3634]

-Angel Gabriel appeared in the form of a Sahabah, Dahiya ibn khalifa al Kalbi
-because he was handsome
-when a person is handsome, it’s pleasant to look at them
-you'd never see an ugly woman reading the news or an ugly receptionist at a hotel

-such as if a member of HT is in the crowd
-so you raise a hand and ask does emaan rise and fall?
-because they do not believe emaan rises or falls
-so you're permitted to ask the question to teach him a lesson
-and your niyyah is pure

Those (i.e. believers) unto whom the people (hypocrites) said, "Verily, the people (pagans) have gathered against you (a great army), therefore, fear them." But it (only) increased them in Faith, and they said: "Allāh (Alone) is Sufficient for us, and He is the Best Disposer of affairs (for us)." (Aali Imran 3:173)

8. ONLY ALLAH 'TALA KNOWS WHEN IS JUDGMENT DAY [He alone is Maliki Yawmi deen]

-he related the hadeeth to us, word for word (verbatim)
-he wasn't sinful; sinful people can't retain knowledge
-munafiq doesn't have knowledge and good character

Abu Huraira (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said: “Two characterstics cannot combine in a hypocrite: good character and an understanding of religion.” [Sunan Tirmidhi (5/49) No. 2684, al-Thiqat Ibn Hibban (8/227) No. 13149, al-Mu’jam al-Awsat al-Tabarani (8/75) No. 8010, al-Madkhal ila al-Sunan al-Kubra al-Bayhaqi (pg. 256) No. 357]

-when the angel appeared, his hair was exceedingly black

Assalamu alaikum Sheikh, How did the angels know that man was going to create fitna on the earth?

-Abdul Aziz Shahwaan, a shaikh in my university said the angels used qiyas
-they don't know everything but they have some qiyas (anology)
-when Jaafar and Hamza died, the Prophet showed emotions of being hurt
-so the angels were told about the traits of man being different from the jinn

Assalamu alaikum, if you are making wudu and someone says "Salam" to you, do you reply back instantly or after your wudu?

-you can reply but it's not advisable to talk during wudu
-but there is nothing wrong with it
-the hadeeth that we can't reply to salaam while we're eating - THIS IS FABRICATED

What is the dua that is recited when the imam pause for the second half of the khutba on Friday?

-you can make a dua of your own then, as it's said the dua will be answered

If a woman gives back the mahr does the khula go into effect immediately or does the husband have to say i release you or i accept the mahr and you are free to go for the khula to go into effect?

-you're not allowed to
-you're not to perform khula by yourself
-get an Imam or Shaikh (this is too messy to do on your own)
-get Shari’ah court to do the khula
-if it's Talaq, he just says I DIVORCE YOU and that's it (after 3 menstruations)
-but with khula, there is property involved and this gets messy

Narrated By Ibn 'Abbas: The wife of Thabit bin Qais came to the Prophet and said, "O Allah's Apostle! I do not blame Thabit for defects in his character or his religion, but I, being a Muslim, dislike to behave in un-Islamic manner (if I remain with him)." On that Allah's Apostle said (to her), "Will you give back the garden which your husband has given you (as Mahr)?" She said, "Yes." Then the Prophet said to Thabit, "O Thabit! Accept your garden, and divorce her once." [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 7, Book 63, Hadith #197]

-faskh means you annul your marriage and keep the dowry
-with khula you have to give back the dowry
-you do khula when the man is good in character but there is no chemistry
-such as not attracted to him

Is it possible to capture and convert jinn in someone else's body? There are videos online with a sheikh capturing jinn and converting them or threatening to kill them through Quran recitation? How valid is this practice and is it halal or Sunnah?

-you're not permitted to capture jinn

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet once offered the prayer and said, "Satan came in front of me and tried to interrupt my prayer, but Allah gave me an upper hand on him and I choked him. No doubt, I thought of tying him to one of the pillars of the mosque till you get up in the morning and see him. Then I remembered the statement of Prophet Solomon, 'My Lord! Bestow on me a kingdom such as shall not belong to any other after me.' Then Allah made him (Satan) return with his head down (humiliated)." [Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 2, Book 22, Hadith 301]

-you can be harsh with the jinn, as we're harsh with the kuffaar
There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary; we are groups each having a different way (religious sect, etc.). (Al-Jinn 72:11)

3 reasons jinn possess us: mischief, revenge and they have a 'crush' on you

Qatadah related from 'Abdullah ibn Sarjas who said, "The Messenger of Allah forbade urination into a hole." Said Qatadah, "What is disliked about urinating into a hole?" Said he, "It is the residence of the jinn." [related by Ahmad, an-Nasa'i, Abu Dawud, al-Hakim and al-Baihaqi. Ibn Khuzaimah and Ibn as-Sakin classified it as sahih]

Assalamu alaikum, Is there a specific punishment for one who lie about virus like HIV to get married?

-you're not allowed to lie about your health
-or to claim you have HIV or lie about having it
-this is like any other lie you tell, such as lying about your age
-but it is haram

Muslims are not liars

On the authority of Safwan ibn Sulaym who said: "The Messenger of Allah (SAW) was asked, 'Can the mumin be a coward?' He said, 'Yes.' He was asked, 'Can the mumin be a miser?' He said, 'Yes.' He was asked, 'Can the mumin be a liar?' He said, 'No.'" [Muwatta Malik (2/169) No. 2088, Shu'ab al-Eman al-Bayhaqi (6/456) No. 4472, Makarim al-Akhlaq Ibn Abi al-Dunya (pg. 54) No. 147, Mishkat al-Masabih (3/1364) No. 4862]

Assalamu alaikum, when Jibril came to the prophet (saw) in white clothing was it white suit or jelebeya?

-it wasn't a suit

Read this book: Jami al uloom wal hikma by ibn Rajab

Bismillah what is the difference between Qadr and qadaa please explain more?

QADR (destiny) - can be changed with daily dua
QADAA (predestination) - cannot be changed

Salman (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, ‘Nothing averts the decree except supplication and nothing but piety prolongs life.” [Sunan Tirmidhi (4/448) No. 2139, Musnad Ahmad (5/280) No. 22466]

-we can't change the coming of Jesus, the end of times, Judgment Day, etc.
-these are predestined by Allah 'tala

Allah blots out what He wills and confirms (what He wills). And with Him is the Mother of the Book (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz) (Ra'd 13:39)

Assalamu alaikum sheikh, when you say that Allah created all our actions, like Allah creates the left path and the right path and the good action and the bad action (And shown him the two ways (good and evil)? 90:10), but does Allah create our acting upon these paths? Because my understanding so far is that Allah creates the paths and lets us choose our path while knowing our choosing because Allah is All knowing, All aware. Please explain if this is the understanding of Ahlu Sunnah wal jamm’ah

-ASWJ believes that all actions (good or bad) were created by Allah 'tala
-He (swt) is the ONLY Creator
-there is reward and punishment for good or bad deeds
-because we exercise our free will
-we choose bad deeds, as well

Those stripped of accountability:
-sleeping man
-mad man
-forced man
-the man who makes a mistake

Ali reported that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, "The pen has been raised for three persons (meaning they are not held accountable for what they do): one who is sleeping until he gets up, a child until he reaches the age of puberty, and an insane person until he becomes sane."
[Musnad Ahmad (1/154) No. 1327, Sunan Abu Dawud (4/140) No. 4402, Sunan Timidhi (4/32) No. 1423, Sunan Ibn Majah (3/198) No. 2041, al-Sunan al-Kubra al-Nasa'i (5/265) No. 5596, Mustadrak al-Haakim (2/67) No. 2350]

In another version of Muslim, he said: “Verily, Allah is more pleased with the repentance of His slave than a person who has his camel in a waterless desert carrying his provision of food and drink and it is lost. He, having lost all hopes (to get that back), lies down in shade and is disappointed about his camel; when all of a sudden he finds that camel standing before him. He takes hold of its reins and then out of boundless joy blurts out: 'O Allah, You are my slave and I am Your Rubb'. He commits this mistake out of extreme joy.” [Sahih Muslim (4/2104) No. 2747]

-that man was NOT accountable because he had a 'slip of the tongue'

Whoever disbelieved in Allah after his belief, except him who is forced thereto and whose heart is at rest with Faith but such as open their breasts to disbelief, on them is wrath from Allah, and theirs will be a great torment. (An-Nahl 16:106)

-we're allowed to do taqiyyah because war is deception

Narrated Ka'b ibn Malik: When the Prophet (SAW) intended to go on an expedition, he always pretended to be going somewhere else, and he would say: "War is deception". [Abu Dawud 2629, Tirmidhi 1681, Ahmed 14312]

"Verily! We have believed in our Lord, that He may forgive us our faults, and the magic to which you did compel us. And Allah is better as regards reward in comparison to your [Fir'aun's (Pharaoh)] reward, and more lasting (as regards punishment in comparison to your punishment)." (Ta-Ha 20:73)

-there were 70 intelligent magicians to challenge Musa
-see the tafseer of Surah Taha

Ibn Abi Hatim recorded that Ibn `Abbas said, "The magicians were seventy men who were magicians in the morning, but witnesses of faith by the time evening came.
