On the authority of Abu Abbas Abdullah bin Abbas (RA) who said: One day I was behind the Prophet (SAW) [riding on the same mount] and he said, "O young man, I shall teach you some words [of advice]: Be mindful of Allah and Allah will protect you. Be mindful of Allah and you will find Him in front of you. If you ask, then ask Allah [alone]; and if you seek help, then seek help from Allah [alone]. And know that if the nation were to gather together to benefit you with anything, they would not benefit you except with what Allah had already prescribed for you. And if they were to gather together to harm you with anything, they would not harm you except with what Allah had already prescribed against you. The pens have been lifted and the pages have dried." It was related by at-Tirmidhi, who said it was a good and sound hadith.

Another narration, other than that of Tirmidhi, reads: Be mindful of Allah, and you will find Him in front of you. Recognise and acknowledge Allah in times of ease and prosperity, and He will remember you in times of adversity. And know that what has passed you by [and you have failed to attain] was not going to befall you, and what has befallen you was not going to pass you by. And know that victory comes with patience, relief with affliction, and hardship with ease.

This hadeeth of the prophet (saw) is reminding us of the importance of dhikr
-that we should not forget Allah
-for doing so has serious consequences
-therefore as Muslims we should remember Allah which has many virtues

-Allah said:

....Verily, As-Salāt (the prayer) prevents from Al-Fahshā' (i.e. great sins of every kind, unlawful sexual intercourse, etc.) and Al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief, polytheism, and every kind of evil wicked deed, etc.) and the remembering (praising, etc.) of (you by) Allāh (in front of the angels) is greater indeed [than your remembering (praising, etc.) Allāh in prayers, etc.]. And Allāh knows what you do. (Al-'Ankabut 29:45)

-so whenever a person is mindful of Allah, he or she abstains from shameful deeds
-but if they are not they dabble in haram

-so the person who does not remember Allah lives a wretched life

. "But whosoever turns away from My Reminder (i.e. neither believes in this Qur'ān nor acts on its orders, etc.) verily, for him is a life of hardship, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Resurrection." (Ta-Ha 20:124)

Narrated By Abu Huraira (RA): The Prophet (SAW) said, "Riches does not mean, having a great amount of property, but riches is self-contentment." [al-Bukhari (6038) and Muslim (2287)]

-when the prophet asked the sahabah 'who is the rich man'?
-they replied the one with dinar and dirham but that was not it
-Allah also says:

Those who believe (in the Oneness of Allāh - Islāmic Monotheism), and whose hearts find rest in the remembrance of Allāh, Verily, in the remembrance of Allāh do hearts find rest. (Ra'd 13:28)

-so a person who forgets Allah and not practicing the deen live on anti-depressant tablets
-because this is the promise of Allah
-for those who forget Allah (do not remember Him)

He will say:"O my Lord! Why have you raised me up blind, while I had sight (before)." (Ta-Ha 20:125)

Abu Hurairah (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “Two words which are light on the tongue but which are dear to the Most Merciful and will weigh heavily in the balance: سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ، سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ العَظِيم Subhan Allah wa bi hamdih, subhan Allah il-‘Azeem (Glory and praise be to Allah; Glory be to Allah the Almighty).” [al-Bukhari (6682) and Muslim (2694)]

-when you do dhikr you get a lot of reward from Allah Ta'la

-this is a problem in the Muslim world
-and the reason is they are not fervent on dhikr
-for you to have jinn harassing you, it means you are not practicing your deen

And whosoever turns away (blinds himself) from the remembrance of the Most Beneficent (Allāh) (i.e. this Qur'ān and worship of Allāh), We appoint for him Shaitān (Satan ¬ devil) to be a Qarīn (an intimate companion) to him. (Az-Zukhruf 43:36)

-if you don’t read Qur'an, do dhikr or pray, the jinn harass you
-sometimes in your sleep you talk or walk
-or you have awkward symptoms
-e.g. a woman talking with a male voice

-because the prophet (saw) said:

Abu Huraira (RA) reported that Allah's Messenger (SAW) said, “The world, with all that it contains, is accursed except for dhikr (the remembrance of Allah) that which pleases Allah; and the religious scholars and seekers of knowledge.'' [Sunan Tirmidhi (4/561) 2322 and Sunan Ibn Majah (5/231) 4112, (Abu Eesa al-Tirmidhi said: this hadeeth is hasan ghareeb)]

-a person who does not remember Allah, does not learn his deen is wretched
-a human shaytan walking on the land

Anas ibn Malik reported that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, “A time will come on the people when the patient among them on his religion will be like one who holds live coal (in his hand). [Sunan Tirmidhi (4/526) No. 2260]

-dhikr protects you and helps you hang on to your deen
-protects you from apostasy, zandaqa, hypocrisy

-Allah said:

And whatsoever He has created for you on this earth of varying colours [and qualities from vegetation and fruits, etc. (botanical life) and from animal (zoological life)]. Verily! In this is a sign for people who remember. (An-Nahl 16:13)

-a righteous person engages in dhikr constantly
-there are a lot of signs in the creation of Allah but we take them for granted
-but the God-fearing ones don’t
-they constantly see the signs and remember their greatness

A God-fearing person uses the creation of Allah to remember Him

Verily! In the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the alternation of night and day, there are indeed signs for men of understanding. (Aali Imran 3:190)

Those who remember Allāh (always, and in prayers) standing, sitting, and lying down on their sides, and think deeply about the creation of the heavens and the earth, (saying): "Our Lord! You have not created (all) this without purpose, glory to You! (Exalted be You above all that they associate with You as partners). Give us salvation from the torment of the Fire. (Aali Imran 3:191)

Mujahid said, "A servant of Allah is not considered of those who remember Allah much until he remembers Allah while standing, sitting and lying down.'' [Tafseer Ibn Abi Hatim (6/2092) No. 11275 and Tafseer Ibn Katheer (5/283)]

-so to do dhikr standing, sitting, lying on your sides, thinking about the animals
-means you are righteous
-and you know that Allah did not create all these for nothing
-the creation of Allah is evidence that He exist
-because the world did not come about in an accident

If the world came about by accident how comes we are 7 billion
-and each have a different finger print
-we all have a different Iris in the eye
-we can’t donate blood or organs to the monkey and vice versa

Even the ants in their holes have a purpose of being created
-and so is everything on earth

Dhikr makes you grow in emaan and appreciate Allah

Go to the bed side of your dying family and get them to recite the kalimah
-for this is the ticket to paradise

Muadh Ibn Jabal (RA) narrated the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "He whose last words (in life) were 'La ilaha-ill Allah' (None has the right to be worshipped but Allah) shall enter Paradise” [Sunan Abu Dawud (2/207) No. 3116, Musnad al-Bazzar (7/77) No. 2626, Tabarani in ‘al-Mu’jam al-Kabir’ (20/112) No. 221, Mustadrak al-Hakim (1/503) No. 1299]

On the authority of 'Uthman that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said; "Whoever dies knowing that nothing deserves to be worshipped except Allah will enter the Paradise." [Sahih Muslim (1/55) No. 26, Musnad Ahmad (1/65) No. 464]

-Allah sends blessings upon you when you say “Sallallahu Alayhi wa sallam”
-and He mentions you to the Angels, a better gathering

He it is Who sends Salāt (His blessings) on you, and His angels too (ask Allāh to bless and forgive you), that He may bring you out from darkness (of disbelief and polytheism) into light (of Belief and Islāmic Monotheism). And He is Ever Most Merciful to the believers. (Al-Ahzab 33:43)

Abdullah Ibn Rafi', the freed slave of Umm Salamah said I heard Abu Hurayrah narrated the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, “When Allah wanted to keep Yunus in the belly of the whale, He revealed to the whale. He said, “Take him inside but do not eat his flesh nor break his bones.” When the whale went down to the depth of the sea, Yunus heard a voice, he said to himself, “What is this?” Then Allah revealed to him, while he was inside the whale’s belly, that it was glorification of the sea animals. Then while in that state, Yunus also glorified Allah, which was heard by the angels. They then said, "O our Lord, we heard a very weak voice coming from unusual land.” Allah said, “That is My slave Yunus, he disobeyed me, so I detained him inside a whale in the sea.” They said, “Is he the pious slave from whom the good deeds ascended to You everyday and night?” Allah replied, “Yes”. So the angels then pleaded on his behalf, so Allah ordered the whale to throw him out on the shore.” [Tafseer al-Tabari (18/518), Tafseer Ibn Abi Hatim (10/3227) No. 18278, Musnad al-Bazzar (15/34) No. 8227 and Tafseer Ibn Katheer (5/367)]

When prophet Yunus (a.s) was in the belly of the whale
-he recited la ilaha illa anta Subhanaka inni kuntu mina dhalimeen
-and this touched the angels and they begged Allah to forgive him
-and Allah said if he had not made that dhikr constantly
-he would have remained in the belly of the whale

Had he not been of them who glorify Allāh, (As-Saffat 37:143)

He would have indeed remained inside its belly (the fish) till the Day of Resurrection. (As-Saffat 37:144)

Abu Hurayrah (RA) and Abu Sa’eed Khudri (RA) bore testimony that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, “Whenever a people remember Allah, the angels surround them, mercy envelops them and peace descends on them, and Allah mentions them to those with Him (the angels).” [Sahih Muslim (4/2074) No. 2700, Sunan Tirmidhi (5/459) No. 3378, Sunan Ibn Majah (4/706) No. 3791, Musnad Ahmad (3/49) No. 11481, al-Sunan al-Kubra al-Nasa'i (10/425) No. 11931]

The Soofis make dhikr but it contains shirk
-they spread a white sheet and claim the prophet is sitting there
-they also make dhikr in jamaa’a

-Ibn Umar saw people doing this and he asked them whether
-they were better than the sahabah
-the answer is; if the type of dhikr in jamaa’a is Quranic recitation it is not haram
-if your shaikh is sitting with you with a group reciting
-and you recite after him, this is not haram
-and if the people doing the dhikr in group are not soofi
-then it is not haram because they don’t believe in the shirk of it
-so it becomes a problem when done by the people with shirk in their hearts and minds
-if they don’t belong to the soofi group it is not an issue

If you don’t make dhikr Allah turns away from you
-and He ignores you
-Allah does not forget

.....They have forgotten Allāh, so He has forgotten them. Verily, the hypocrites are the Fāsiqûn (rebellious, disobedient to Allāh). (At-Tawbah 9:67)

-so in the above ayah, the tafseer is they ignored Allah so He ignores them

You need to make dhikr to remind you why you are on the battle field
-to get rid of the nationalism etc.

O you who believe! When you meet (an enemy) force, take a firm stand against them and remember the Name of Allāh much (both with tongue and mind), so that you may be successful. (Al-Anfal 8:45)

You were so astray you used to make tawaaf naked
-but your hajj rituals do not contain these now because Allah has guided you
-so do your dhikr to thank Allah for guiding you and making you civilize

Then when you leave 'Arafāt, remember Allāh (by glorifying His Praises, i.e. prayers and invocations, etc.) at the Mash'ar-il-Harām. And remember Him (by invoking Allāh for all good, etc.) as He has guided you, and verily, you were, before, of those who were astray. (Al-Baqarah 2:198)

Then when the (Jumu'ah) Salāt (prayer) is finished, you may disperse through the land, and seek the Bounty of Allāh (by working, etc.), and remember Allāh much, that you may be successful. (Al-Jumu'ah 62:10)

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (RA), who said that the Prophet (SAW) said: "Allah the Almighty said: 'I am as My servant thinks I am. I am with him when he makes mention of Me. If he makes mention of Me to himself, I make mention of him to Myself; and if he makes mention of Me in an assembly, I make mention of him in an assembly better than it. And if he draws near to Me an arm's length, I draw near to him a fathom's length. And if he comes to Me walking, I go to him at speed." [al-Bukhari (7405) also by Muslim (2675), at-Tirmidhi (2388) and Ibn Majah (3822)]

Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (PBUH) said, "The similitude of one who remembers his Rubb and one who does not remember Him, is like that of the living and the dead." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

-this hadeeth brings to your mind the ayah in surah fatiha
-iyyaka na'budu wa iyya kanasta3in
-there are people who go to the graves and beg them
-they make qiyas that it is like going to the doctor for a prescription
-but this is wrong

The prophet (saw) is dead and without all of his faculties in the grave
-in contrast to what the grave worshippers believe

If you invoke (or call upon) them, they hear not your call, and if (in case) they were to hear, they could not grant it (your request) to you. And on the Day of Resurrection, they will disown your worshipping them. And none can inform you (O Muhammad SAW) like Him Who is the All-Knower (of each and everything)[]. (Fatir 35:14)

-Allah said in the above ayah, if you call upon them
-they can’t hear you and even if they can
-they can’t grant you your request
-Allah said calling upon the dead is worshipping them
-this makes you a pagan and mushrik
-this is because dua is worship

Nu’man ibn Bashir (RA) narrated the Prophet (SAW) said, “The supplication is itself worship.” Then he recited. And your Lord says, “Call upon Me, and I shall answer you. Surely those who are too arrogant to worship Me, they shall enter Hell, disgraced.” (40: 60) [Tirmidhi (5/456) No. 3372, Abu Dawud (2/76) No. 1479, Ibn Majah (5/5) No. 3828, Ahmad (4/271) No. 18410]

-Allah called the grave worshippers liars

Surely, the religion (i.e. the worship and the obedience) is for Allāh only. And those who take Auliyā' (protectors and helpers) besides Him (say): "We worship them only that they may bring us near to Allāh." Verily, Allāh will judge between them concerning that wherein they differ. Truly, Allāh guides not him who is a liar, and a disbeliever. (Az-Zumar 39:3)

3 groups belong to this category:

Thawban reported that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, "The Hour will not be established until a tribe from my Ummah joins the polytheists and until a tribe from my Ummah worship idols." [Sunan Tirmidhi (4/499) No. 2219, Sunan Abu Dawud (4/97) No. 4252, Sunan Ibn Majah (5/97) No. 3952 and Mustadrak al-Haakim (4/496) No. 8390]

Yahya related to me from Malik from Zayd ibn Aslam from Ata ibn Yasar that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "O Allah! Do not make my grave an idol that is worshipped. The anger on those who took the graves of their Prophets as places of prostration was terrible." [Muwatta Malik (1/223) No. 570, Musannaf Abdur Razzaq (1/406) No. 1587, Musnad Ahmad (2/246) No. 7352]

The prophet told ibn Abbaas when you ask, ask Allah
-and when you seek help, seek help from Him alone

You (Alone) we worship, and You (Alone) we ask for help (for each and everything). (Al-Fatihah 1:5)

So those who say the prophet (saw) is still alive in his grave are wrong
-Allah said:

Everyone shall taste death. And only on the Day of Resurrection shall you be paid your wages in full. And whoever is removed away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise, he indeed is successful. The life of this world is only the enjoyment of deception (a deceiving thing). (Aali Imran 3:185)

Narrated By Abu Hazim from Sahl bin Sa'd: The Prophet said, "I am your predecessor (forerunner) at the Lake-Fount, and whoever will pass by there, he will drink from it and whoever will drink from it, he will never be thirsty. There will come to me some people whom I will recognize, and they will recognize me, but a barrier will be placed between me and them." [Sahih Bukhari (8/120) No. 6583]

Abu Hazim added: An-Nu'man bin Abi 'Aiyash, on hearing me, said. "Did you hear this from Sahl?" I said, "Yes." He said, " I bear witness that I heard Abu Said Al-Khudri saying the same, adding that the Prophet said: 'I will say: They are of me (i.e. my followers). It will be said, 'You do not know what they innovated (new things) in the religion after you left'. I will say, 'Far removed, far removed (from mercy), those who changed (their religion) after me." [Sahih Bukhari (8/120) No. 6584]

Abu Huraira narrated that the Prophet said, "On the Day of Resurrection a group of companions will come to me, but will be driven away from the Lake-Fount, and I will say, 'O Lord (those are) my companions!' It will be said, 'You have no knowledge as to what they innovated after you left; they turned apostate as renegades (reverted from Islam)." [Sahih Bukhari (8/120) No. 6585]

-if he was alive in his grave, why did the angels tell him this?
-he should have known if you were right
-but the angels had to tell him what those people did in his absence

Allah said:

Verily, you (O Muhammad SAW) will die and verily, they (too) will die. (Az-Zumar 39:30)

Dua belongs to Allah
-but the soofis come up with a hadeeth they want to use against us
-we say to you, this hadeeth is evidence for us not for you
-you retard!!
-Allah withheld the rain when the man begged the prophet for rain at his grave
-Umar went to Abbas to beg Allah for rain
-Abbas was alive and before he could finish his dua Allah sent down rain
-so if you want to do tawassul, you need to ask a pious person to make dua for you
-tawassul means to draw nearer to Allah with pious deeds

Narrated By Anas: Whenever drought threatened them, 'Umar bin Al-Khattab, used to ask Al-Abbas bin 'Abdul Muttalib to invoke Allah for rain. He used to say, "O Allah! We used to ask our Prophet to invoke You for rain, and You would bless us with rain, and now we ask his uncle to invoke You for rain. O Allah ! Bless us with rain." And so it would rain. [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 2, Book 17, Hadith #123]

Those who pray to the graves don’t believe in the ayah in surah fatiha
-this is why Allah called them liars

The prophet (saw) said THE PENS HAVE BEEN LIFTED
-this means what is to happen have been documented already
-this is called qadrAllah

Narrated by Ibn Abbas who related “The first thing which Allah created was the Pen, and He said to it, ‘Write.’ It responded, ‘What should I write?’ He said, ‘Write everything that will occur until the Day of Resurrection.’ (Abu Dawood 4700)

There are people who go astray with regards to qadr
-they are called the Qadariyya

Qadr means Allah's secret knowledge and His documentation of it

Abdullah ibn Amr (RA) reported having heard from Allah’s Messenger (SAW) who said, “Allah decreed the destinies before He created the heavens and earth by fifty thousand years.” [Tirmidhi 2163, Ahmed 6590, Muslim 2653]

-man does not create his own actions

"While Allāh has created you and what you make!" (As-Saffat 37:96)

-Allah is Al Khaliq
-so how can man create his own actions
-the NOI is so evil
-they claim the white man was created in a lab

-the Jabriyya or the fatalist blame qadr for their sins
-these people existed in the time of the prophet and Umar
-Allah said the kaafirs will say they are mushrik because it was qadr

Those who took partners (in worship) with Allāh will say: "If Allāh had willed, we would not have taken partners (in worship) with Him, nor would our fathers, and we would not have forbidden anything (against His Will)." Likewise belied those who were before them, (they argued falsely with Allāh's Messengers), till they tasted of Our Wrath. Say: "Have you any knowledge (proof) that you can produce before us? Verily, you follow nothing but guess and you do nothing but lie." (Al-An'am 6:148)

During the time of Umar a man stole and said it was qadr
-Umar asked for him to be lashed and then his hand cut
-kuffaar will always use qadr to justify their kufr
-just like the British said it was qadr for Salman Rushing to Die to write his kufr book

If someone rapes your daughter
-you won’t tell the judge to set him free because it was qadr
-this is how to check mate a Jabriyya

The aqeeda of ASWJ with regards to qadr:
-qadr has 4 pillars

So when you woke up to pray fajr it was created by Allah
-but you will be rewarded for going to pray
-because you were a free human being exercising your free will

There are some people in the world who remember Allah only when they are suffering
-they like to 'use' Allah
-just like people like to use you for your knowledge, experience etc.

And when they embark on a ship, they invoke Allāh, making their Faith pure for Him only, but when He brings them safely to land, behold, they give a share of their worship to others. (Al-'Ankabut 29:65)

DONT remember Allah only when you are suffering

Salman (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, ‘Nothing averts the decree except supplication and nothing but piety prolongs life.” [Sunan Tirmidhi (4/448) No. 2139, Musnad Ahmad (5/280) No. 22466]

-may be a car was to knock you down
-but your dua changed it
-qadr can be changed with dua
-but qadaa, predestination cannot be changed

Allah told us destiny, qadr can be changed

Allāh blots out what He wills and confirms (what He wills). And with Him is the Mother of the Book (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfûz) (Ra'd 13:39)

...And know that victory comes with patience, relief with affliction, and hardship with ease...

Alif¬Lām¬Mīm. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'ān, and none but Allāh (Alone) knows their meanings.] (Al-'Ankabut 29:1)

Do people think that they will be left alone because they say: "We believe," and will not be tested. (Al-'Ankabut 29:2)

-this was what happened at Hudaibiyya

So verily, with the hardship, there is relief, (Ash-Sharh 94:5)

Verily, with the hardship, there is relief (i.e. there is one hardship with two reliefs, so one hardship cannot overcome two reliefs). (Ash-Sharh 94:6)

Allah (swt) repeated Himself because with every difficulty comes two ease

I took a decision and i ended up regretting it. I have been making many dua and have been asking Allah in tahajjud to rectify the wrong step i took. Will my dua make any difference because I read that we are to make dua for things that have happened and for things that are to be.

Answer 1:-
You can make a dua to ask Allah (swt) to forgive you for something you did in the past
-you can also make dua (salatul Istikhara) for something you want to do in the future

On the authority of Abu Bakr al-Siddeeq (RA) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (SAW) say: “There is no one who commits a sin then purifies himself well and stands and prays two rak’ahs, then asks Allah for forgiveness, but Allah will forgive him. Then he recited this verse: ‘And those who, when they have committed Fahishah (illegal sexual intercourse) or wronged themselves with evil, remember Allah and ask forgiveness for their sins; (and none can forgive sins but Allah) and do not persist in what (wrong) they have done, while they know’ [Aal ‘Imraan 3:135].” [Sunan Abu Dawud (2/86) No. 1521]

Is the hadith about Surah Waqiah bringing wealth sahih or daeef?

Shaikh knows of no scholar who says it's a weak hadith
-Ibn Mas’ood had many daughters
-he said to Uthman no need to look after his daughters that they have surah Waqiah

I remember you saying that women who wear belts outside their clothing are cursed by Allah. I told this to a brother and he said he heard that some of the female sahabi used to wear belts, is this true?

They are not allowed to wear a belt over the abaya
-to wear a belt over it is haraam because it exposes the hips
-you can wear it inside
-you cannot put elastic in the waist of the abaya

Sheikh, when you get married do you become her wali or does she still have a wali?

-her father, etc. are still her wali to oversee her interests
-her wali will always be her wali

What is the order of importance in regards to the obligation because a righteous person was destroyed because he didn't forbid the evil?

-the order of importance is how the prophet set them

On the authority of Abu Umar who said: Allah sent two angels to destroy a township with a natural disaster, but when they got there they found a man praying in the mosque. They went back to Allah and said: 'O Allah we found a man praying in the mosque.' Allah said to the two angels: 'Go back and destroy the township with that man as well because not once did he ever frown when he saw the people indulging in haram.' [Ibnul Qayyim, al-Jawaab al-Kaafi (Vol. 1, pg. 46)]

Abdullah ibn Amr (RA) reported having heard from Allah’s Messenger (SAW) who said, “Allah decreed the destinies before He created the heavens and earth by fifty thousand years.” [Tirmidhi 2163, Ahmed 6590, Muslim 2653]
