HADEETH NUMBER 40:

On the authority of Abdullah ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) took me by the shoulder and said, “Be in this world as though you were a stranger or a wayfarer.” And Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say, “In the evening do not expect [to live until] the morning, and in the morning do not expect [to live until] the evening. Take [advantage of] your health before times of sickness, and [take advantage of] your life before your death.” It was related by al-Bukhari.

In this hadeeth Allah (swt) is telling you not to be attached to the dunya
-be as if you are a wayfarer
-be of the ghuraba, the strangers

They are people who love their religion so much so that people see them as weird
-they see them as strange

So you are not allowed to be attached to the dunya so much so that your aakhira suffers

Abu Musa Ashari (radi Allahu anhu) narrated that Rasul Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “He who loves his dunya hurts his Akhirah, and he who loves his akhirah hurts his dunya. Therefore you should give preference to the one that lasts over the one that is to perish.” [Hakim in Mustadrak]

Allah (swt) spoke about the dunya on many occasions in the Qur'an:

Beautified for men is the love of things they covet; women, children, much of gold and silver (wealth), branded beautiful horses, cattle and well-tilled land. This is the pleasure of the present world's life; but Allah has the excellent return (Paradise with flowing rivers, etc.) with Him. (Aali Imran 3:14)

Allah (swt) said we go crazy for pleasures we derive from the bodies of women

Usama Ibn Zayd (RA) narrated the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “I have not left behind me any fitnah (temptation) more harmful to men than women.” [Reported by al-Bukhaari (5096) and Muslim (2740)]

Know that the life of this world is only play and amusement, pomp and mutual boasting among you, and rivalry in respect of wealth and children, as the likeness of vegetation after rain, thereof the growth is pleasing to the tiller; afterwards it dries up and you see it turning yellow; then it becomes straw. But in the Hereafter (there is) a severe torment (for the disbelievers, evil-doers), and (there is) Forgiveness from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure (for the believers, good-doers), whereas the life of this world is only a deceiving enjoyment. (Al-Hadid 57:20)

Why did Allah mention wealth before children?
-this is because we love our wealth more than our children
-this is why people do abortions
-they fear poverty

And kill not your children for fear of poverty. We provide for them and for you. Surely, the killing of them is a great sin. (Al-Isra 17:31)

The life of this world deceives you
-because it makes you think you will be forever young
-and makes you think the priority is to drink alcohol and chase girls
-it makes you think haram is fun
-and if you not into it, your life is boring

Jaahiliyyah gives everyone a raw deal
-some people come out of jaahiliyyah with herpes, HIV, etc. due to zina
-or with a bad liver from alcohol

And because the dunya is deceiving, Allah told us not to allow it to deceive us
-who told you if you don’t dabble in haram activities your life will be boring
-they ask what we do to have fun

We let them enjoy for a little while, then in the end We shall oblige them to (enter) a great torment. (Luqman 31:24)

These kuffaar that you see enjoying the dunya will do so only for a short while
-because life is short
-the life expectancy is very small
-and after they enjoy themselves, they will be dumped into the fire

People come out of jaahiliyyah with emotional ailments
-they have schizophrenia
-and hear voices; voices of the shayateen
-Allah told us this:

And whosoever turns away (blinds himself) from the remembrance of the Most Beneficent (Allah) (i.e. this Qur'an and worship of Allah), We appoint for him Shaitan (Satan ¬ devil) to be a Qarin (an intimate companion) to him. (Az-Zukhruf 43:36)

"Who whispers in the breasts of mankind, (An-Nas 114:5)

"Of jinns and men." (An-Nas 114:6)

It is haram to live with people who hear voices according to Hanbali madhab

Some have bi-polar disorder
-they are manic and depressive interchangeably

Some suffer from OCD, ADHD and many other psychological disorders

"But whosoever turns away from My Reminder (i.e. neither believes in this Qur'an nor acts on its orders, etc.) verily, for him is a life of hardship, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Resurrection." (Ta-Ha 20:124)

Nimrod had the Narcissistic personality disorder
-he had the God-complex

Have you not looked at him who disputed with Ibrahim (Abraham) about his Lord (Allah), because Allah had given him the kingdom? When Ibrahim (Abraham) said (to him) : "My Lord (Allah) is He Who gives life and causes death." He said, "I give life and cause death." Ibrahim (Abraham) said, "Verily! Allah causes the sun to rise from the east; then cause it you to rise from the west." So the disbeliever was utterly defeated. And Allah guides not the people, who are Zalimun (wrong-doers, etc.). (Al-Baqarah 2:258)

-likewise the pharaoh had the same disorder
-he killed his own wife because she went against him
-she was a believer

Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, (An-Nazi'at 79:23)

Saying: "I am your lord, most high", (An-Nazi'at 79:24)

Allah said:

O mankind! Be afraid of your Lord (by keeping your duty to Him and avoiding all evil), and fear a Day when no father can avail aught for his son, nor a son avail aught for his father. Verily, the Promise of Allah is true, let not then this (worldly) present life deceive you, nor let the chief deceiver (Satan) deceive you about Allah. (Luqman 31:33)

-Allah is warning you not to allow the world to deceive you
-it deceives you to do haram in the name of enjoyment
-this is why many Muslims envy the kuffaar for their lifestyle and slip

The mutual rivalry for piling up of worldly things diverts you, (At-Takathur 102:1)

Until you visit the graves (i.e. till you die). (At-Takathur 102:2)

Nay! You shall come to know! (At-Takathur 102:3)

Again, Nay! You shall come to know! (At-Takathur 102:4)

Nay! If you knew with a sure knowledge (the end result of piling up, you would not have occupied yourselves in worldly things) (At-Takathur 102:5)

Verily, You shall see the blazing Fire (Hell)! (At-Takathur 102:6)

And again, you shall see it with certainty of sight! (At-Takathur 102:7)

Then, on that Day, you shall be asked about the delight[] (you indulged in, in this world)! (At-Takathur 102:8)

If you allow the enjoyment of this world to carry you away
-when death comes you will regret it

When the sahabah were migrating to Madina
-some wives told their husbands not to go
-and these men stayed behind
-years later they migrated and found out how ignorant they were in Islamic knowledge
-they became very angry and wanted to beat up their wives
-because they prevented them from migrating

Allah then revealed the ayah:

O you who believe! Verily, among your wives and your children there are enemies for you (i.e. may stop you from the obedience of Allah), therefore beware of them! But if you pardon (them) and overlook, and forgive (their faults), then verily, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (At-Taghabun 64:14)

-the women loved the dunya that's why they stopped their husbands from migrating

Ibn Umar (RA) narrated the Prophet (SAW) said: “The Dajjal will come to this pond in Marriqanaat (a valley in Madina). Most of the people who follow the Dajjal will be women till a man has to use rope to tie up his mother, daughter, sister and aunt out of fear that they will leave the home to follow the Dajjal. Then Allah will grant victory to the Muslims over the Dajjal so the Muslims will kill the Dajjal and his party who will be the Jews. The Jews will run behind a tree and a stone to hide from the Muslims and the tree and the stone will call out 'O Muslim a Jew is behind me so come and kill him.’" [Musnad Ahmad (2/67) No. 5353 and Tabarani in ‘al-Mu’jam al-Kabir’ (12/307) No. 13197]

The wife of prophet Lut was connected to the dunya
-and so she was attached to the evil of sodomy

If you have a wife who does not watch TV; don’t divorce her
-turn a blind eye to her weaknesses

Jabir bin Abdullah reported that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) happened to walk through the bazar coming from the side of 'Aliya and the people were on both his sides. There he found a dead lamb with very short ears. He took hold of his ear and said: “Who amongst you would like to have this for a dirham?” They said: ‘We do not like to have it even for less than that as it is of no use to us.’ He said: “Do you wish to have it (free of any cost)?” They said: ‘By Allah, even if it were alive (we would not have liked to possess that), for there is detect in it as its ear is very short; now it is dead also.’ Thereupon the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “By Allah, this world is more insignificant in the eye of Allah as it (this dead lamb) is in your eye.” [Sahih Muslim (4/2272) No. 2957]

-so the prophet (saw) compared the dunya to the life of a dead lamb

We chase after dunya and lie and swear and deceive
-we become con artist just to chase after the dunya
-some of us even apostate from the deen

The dunya is a prison for the believer

Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, “This world is the prison of the believer and the paradise of the unbeliever.” [Sahih Muslim (4/2272) No. 2956, Musnad Ahmad (2/323) No. 8272, Sunan Tirmidhi (4/562) No. 2324, Sunan Ibn Majah (5/232) No. 4113]

On the authority of Abu al-’Abbas Sahl bin Sa’ad as-Sa’idee (RA) who said: A man came to the Prophet (SAW) and said, "O Messenger of Allah, direct me to an act which, if I do it, [will cause] Allah to love me and the people to love me." So he (SAW) said, "Renounce the world and Allah will love you, and renounce what the people possess and the people will love you." A hasan hadith related by Ibn Majah and others with good chains of authorities.

Abu Huraira (RA) reported that Allah's Messenger (SAW) said, “The world, with all that it contains, is accursed except for dhikr (the remembrance of Allah) that which pleases Allah; and the religious scholars and seekers of knowledge.'' [Sunan Tirmidhi (4/561) 2322 and Sunan Ibn Majah (5/231) 4112, (Abu Eesa al-Tirmidhi said: this hadeeth is hasan ghareeb)]

Sahi Ibn Sa’d (RA) reported that Allah's Messenger (SAW) said, “If in Allah’s sight the world had so much worth as the wing of a mosquito, then a infidel would never have drunk even a drop of water.” [Tirmidhi (4/560) No. 2320, Ibn e Majah (5/230) No. 4110, al-Haakim (4/341) No. 7847]

-Prophet (saw) said: Every Ummah has a fitna, and the fitna of my Ummah is 'wealth'

Amr bin Auf (R.A.) narrates that Rasulullah (SAW) said: "By Allah I do not fear poverty and starvation overtaking you, but I fear that you will have abundant wealth at your disposal as it had been at the disposal of the nations before you. You will then become extremely greedy in accumulating this wealth just as the previous nations had done. This (greed) will be the cause of your ruin and destruction just as it destroyed the people before you". [al-Bukhari (3158) and Muslim (2961)]

'Abdullah ibn Mughaffal said, “A man said to the Prophet (SAW) ‘Messenger of Allah, by Allah, I love you.’ He said, ‘Be careful of what you say.’ He said, ‘By Allah, I love you,’ three times. He said, ‘If you love me, then prepare yourself for poverty. Poverty comes swifter to the one who loves me than a flood to its destination.’” [Sunan Tirmidhi (4/576-577) No. 2350]

Abu Hurayra stated that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "The most truthful phrase ever said by a poet is the words of Labid: 'Everything except Allah is false.'" [Agreed upon]

Abu Hurairah (RA) reported: Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, “The poor will enter Jannah five hundred years before the rich.” [Sunan Tirmidhi (4/578) No. 2353]

Usama Ibn Zayd (RA) narrated the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “I have not left behind me any fitnah (temptation) more harmful to men than women.” [Reported by al-Bukhaari (5096) and Muslim (2740)]

-the biggest fitna in the dunya is the fitna of women
-e.g. they like to seduce the likes of Catholic priests
-generally, men of God are prime targets for seductresses

Anas bin Malik reported: “The Paradise is surrounded by hardships and the Hell-Fire is surrounded by temptations.” [Sahih Muslim (4/2174) No. 2822]

Narrated Abu Sa'id al-Khudri: Once Allah's Messenger went out to the Musalla (to offer the prayer) on 'Eid-al-Adha or al-Fitr prayer. Then he passed by the women and said, "O women! Give alms, as I have seen that the majority of the dwellers of Hell-fire were you (women)." They asked, "Why is it so, O Messenger of Allah?" He replied, "You curse frequently and are ungrateful to your husbands. I have not seen anyone more deficient in intelligence and religion than you. A cautious sensible man could be led astray by some of you." The women asked, "O Messenger of Allah! What is deficient in our intelligence and religion?" He said, "Is not the evidence of two women equal to the witness of one man?" They replied in the affirmative. He said, "This is the deficiency in her intelligence. Isn't it true that a woman can neither pray nor fast during her menses?" The women replied in the affirmative. He said, "This is the deficiency in her religion." [Sahih Bukhari (1/68) No. 304]

Abdullah ibn Mas’ood said: Whoever reads Tabaarak allaahi bi yadihi’l-mulk [i.e., Soorat al-Mulk] every night, Allah will protect him from the torment of the grave. At the time of the Messenger of Allah (SAW) we used to call it al-maani’ah (that which protects). In the Book of Allah it is a soorah which, whoever recites it every night has done very well. [al-Sunan al-Kubra al-Nasa'i (6/179) No. 10547, Mustadrak al-Haakim (2/540) No. 3839]

Abu Darda' reported Allah's Apostle (SAW) as saying: If anyone learns by heart the first ten verses of the Surah Al-Kahf, he will be protected from the Dajjal. [Sahih Muslim, Book 4, Hadith #1766]

Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the dominion, and He is Able to do all things. (Al-Mulk 67:1)

Who has created death and life, that He may test you which of you is best in deed. And He is the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving; (Al-Mulk 67:2)

Verily! Man (disbeliever) is ungrateful to his Lord; (Al-'Adiyat 100:6)

And to that fact he bears witness (by his deeds); (Al-'Adiyat 100:7)

-Man in his love for dunya, causes him to become viscous,
-unscrupulous, brutal and atrocious

In the 1980's, whilst studying in Saudi,
-i saw on the TV that there was broken glass in Heinz baby foods
-this shows how evil the capitalists can be, the ones who set this up

And verily, he is violent in the love of wealth. (Al-'Adiyat 100:8)

There are men who insure their wives for half a million dollars
-and then they hire a hit man to kill them and then claim insurance
-the scholars said life insurance is Haraam

IN 2008, DURING MY SOUTH AFRICAN TOUR
-a girl said her boyfriend wanted to take her to Tanzania
-her boyfriend was from the Ibo, the Catholic Christians of Nigeria
-she was advised to watch a documentary on girls taken to Tanzania
-her boyfriend refused to let her watch the program
-she watched it elsewhere and it turned out that Albino girls (which she was)
-are kidnapped and sold to Black Magicians

President Putin of Russia when Chechnya found oil,
-planted bombs in the apartments of civilians and blamed the Mujahideen
- Alexander Litvinenko defected to UK, and spilled the beans

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blowing_Up_Russia:_Terror_from_Within

His book was titled 'Blowing up Russia', in which he exposed Putin
-for blowing up women and children
-with the eventual ulterior motive of stealing Muslim Oil
-Putin sent two hit men to the UK (i.e. KGB Officers)
-who eventually poisoned him
-when he went to dinner with them

It was narrated from Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri (RA) that he heard the Messenger of Allah (SAW) say, “Do not keep company with anyone but a believer and do not let anyone eat your food but one who is pious.” [Sunan Tirmidhi (4/600) No. 2395, Sunan Abu Dawood (4/259) No. 4832, Musnad Ahmad (3/38) No. 11355]

-Litvinenko was a new revert, and it's likely he was unaware of the above hadith
-the relevance of the Putin story is:
-When a man loves the dunya ‘the end justifies the means’
-Such people would sell their own mothers for their insatiable, gluttonous greed

Allah (swt) Said the people will apostate when things don't go as planned in the dunya

And among mankind is he who worships Allāh as it were, upon the very edge (i.e. in doubt); if good befalls him, he is content therewith; but if a trial befalls him, he turns back on his face (i.e. reverts back to disbelief after embracing Islām). He loses both this world and the Hereafter. That is the evident loss. (Al-Hajj 22:11)

-such people's Islam is ‘conditional’; subject to their personal approval

As for man, when his Lord tries him by giving him honour and gifts, then he says (puffed up): "My Lord has honoured me." (Al-Fajr 89:15)

But when He tries him, by straitening his means of life, he says: "My Lord has humiliated me!" (Al-Fajr 89:16)

-i.e. such people are prepared to insult Allah (swt) if they don't get
-what they sought in the dunya
-they think Allah (swt) has disgraced them
-if while chasing the dunya
-they don't get what they were chasing

Suhayb Ibn Sinan narrated the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “Wonderful are the affairs of a believer; for there is good in every affair of his; this is not the case with anyone else except a believer. If he has an occasion to feel delight, he thanks (Allah), thus there is good for him in it. If he suffers affliction, he endures patiently, which is good for him. [Sahih Muslim (4/2295) No. 2999]

...“In the evening do not expect [to live until] the morning, and in the morning do not expect [to live until] the evening. Take [advantage of] your health before times of sickness, and [take advantage of] your life before your death.”...

-in other words be prepared for death any time
-i knew of people who died in their 50's and they DIDN'T have a Will prepared
-Prophet (saw) Mentioned 'dying suddenly' as a sign of the last days

Health is wealth!
-who's going to employ a person who's dying of cancer?
-health BRINGS wealth, therefore look after your health
-don't go clubbing, pubbing, binging, etc. otherwise you'll die young
-your health is an AMANA a 'trust'

The final messenger of God, Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) mounted the pulpit, then wept and said, "Ask Allah (swt) for forgiveness and health, for after being granted certainty, one is given nothing better than health." Related in Tirmidhi

Abu Barzah Aslami (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, “(On the Day of Resurrection) the feet of a slave will not move till he is asked about his life how he spent it; and about his knowledge, what he did with it, and about his wealth, how he earned it and on what he used it, and about his body, in what way he wore it off.” [Sunan Tirmidhi (4/614) No. 2417 and Sunan al-Darime (1/144) No. 537]

O mankind! Eat of that which is lawful and good on the earth, and follow not the footsteps of Shaitān (Satan). Verily, he is to you an open enemy. (Al-Baqarah 2:168)

Some of you for 6 months have not had any fruit
-hence can suffer constipation
-instead you gravitate towards eating meat, meat, meat! Not a balanced diet

اغْزُوا تَغْنَمُوا، وَصُومُوا تَصِحُّوا، وَسَافِرُوا تَسْتَغْنُوا
On the authority of Abu Huraira (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, “Take part in battles, and you will receive booty. Fast, and you will be healthy. Travel and you will find your sustenance.” [al-Mu’jam al-Awsat al-Tabarani (8/174) No. 8312]

Certainly! Allāh will admit those who believe (in the Oneness of Allāh Islāmic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, to Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise), while those who disbelieve enjoy themselves and eat as cattle eat, and the Fire will be their abode. (Muhammad 47:12)

BODY SHOCK: http://www.channel4.com/programmes/bodyshock/episode-guide/series-2/episode-1

-In the UK, i saw a documentary where a man LOOKED like a cow
-and WEIGHED the same amount as a cow
-Another man in East Sussex, the Police had to arrest him
-because he was 'eating himself to death'
-they had to take him into custody to save his life

Miqdam ibn Ma’dikarib (RA) reported that he heard Allah’s Messenger say, “A man does not fill a vessel worse than his belly. Enough for the son of Adam are a few morsels to keep his back straight. But, if it is unavoidable then let him apportion one third for his food, one-third for his drink and one-third for his breath.” [Sunan Tirmidhi (4/590) No. 2380, Sunan Ibn Majah (4/448) No. 3349, Musnad Ahmad (4/132) No. 17225]

Ibn Umar (RA) reported that the Prophet (SAW) said, “The believer eats in one intestine, while the disbeliever eats in seven intestines.’ [al-Bukhari (5393) and Muslim (2061)]

-Obesity is a pandemic in America too

On seeing a fat man, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him said: “If you did not have a paunch (belly fat), it would be better for you. He also said: Overeating does not go with good health.” [Al-Haythami]

-the Prophet (saw) despised, abhorred people who were gluttonous in eating and fat
-majority of fat people have diabetes

Jabir bin 'Abdullah (RA) reported: Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, “The food of one person suffices for two, the food of two persons suffices for four persons, and the food of four persons suffices for eight persons.” [Sahih Muslim (3/1630) No. 2059]

-Big Bellied Presidents are only found in the Muslim World
-and these big bellied leaders have millions (if not billions)
-in their (e.g.) Swiss Bank Accounts

Ibn ‘Abbâs narrated: I heard the Messenger of Allah (SAW) saying, “If a son of Adam had a valley full of gold, he would desire to have two. Nothing can fill his mouth except the dust (of his grave). Allah turns with mercy to him who turns to Him in repentance.” [al-Bukhari (6437) and Muslim (1049)]

In this world, there's enough to satisfy everyone's NEED
-but not enough to satisfy everyone's GREED

Don't plan your Hajj in a manner in which
-you want to make the most of sinning before going
-because you don't know if you'll ever MAKE IT to Hajj

Verily, Allāh! With Him (Alone) is the knowledge of the Hour, He sends down the rain, and knows that which is in the wombs. No person knows what he will earn tomorrow, and no person knows in what land he will die. Verily, Allāh is All¬Knower, All¬Aware (of things). (Luqman 31:34)

HOW DO YOU KNOW WHEN YOU HAVE DIED A GOOD DEATH?

1. YOU'RE ABLE TO RECITE THE SHAHADA AT THE TIME OF DEATH

Muadh Ibn Jabal (RA) narrated the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "He whose last words (in life) were 'La ilaha-ill Allah' (None has the right to be worshipped but Allah) shall enter Paradise” [Sunan Abu Dawud (2/207) No. 3116, Musnad al-Bazzar (7/77) No. 2626, Tabarani in ‘al-Mu’jam al-Kabir’ (20/112) No. 221, Mustadrak al-Hakim (1/503) No. 1299]

2. YOU DIED TRAVELLING TO A HOLY LAND, FOR A HOLY PURPOSE

Abu Sa'id al-Khudri reported Allah's Messenger (SAW) as saying: There was a person before you who had killed ninety-nine persons and then made an inquiry about the learned persons of the world (who could show him the way to salvation). He was directed to a monk. He came to him and told him that he had killed ninety-nine persons and asked him whether there was any scope for his repentance to be accepted. He said: No. He killed him also and thus completed one hundred. He then asked about the learned persons of the earth and he was directed to a scholar, and he told him that he had killed one hundred persons and asked him whether there was any scope for his repentance to be accepted. He said: Yes; what stands between you and the repentance? You better go to such and such land; there are people devoted to prayer and worship and you also worship along with them and do not come to the land of yours since it was an evil land (for you). So he went away and he had hardly covered half the distance when death came to him and there was a dispute between the angels of mercy and the angels of punishment. The angels of mercy said: This man has come as a penitent and remorseful to Allah and the angels of punishment said: He has done no good at all. Then there came another angel in the form of a human being in order to decide between them. He said: You measure the land to which he has drawn near. They measured it and found him nearer to the land where he intended to go (the land of piety), and so the angels of mercy took possession of it. Qatada said that Hasan told him that it was said to them that as death approached him, he crawled upon his chest (and managed) to slip in the land of mercy. [Sahih Muslim, Book 37, Hadith #6662]

3. A WOMAN DYING IN CHILD BIRTH (DEATH OF A SHAHEED)

Jabir ibn 'Utaik reported that Allah's Messenger said: "There are seven kinds of martyrs besides those killed in the cause of Allah:
1. a person who is killed in an epidemic,
2. a person who is drowned,
3. a person who has bed sores that cause fever and a bad cough resulting in his death,
4. a person who dies of a stomach disease,
5. a person who dies in a fire,
6. a person who dies under falling debris (in a disaster), and
7. a woman who dies during childbirth."
[Ahmad, Abu Daw'ud and Nasa'i report this hadith based on sound authority]

4. DYING ON THE BATTLE FIELD

Sa’eed ibn Zayd (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, “He who is killed in defense of his property is a martyr. He who is killed in self-defense is a martyr. He who is killed in defense of his religion is a martyr. And, he who is killed in defense of his family is a martyr.” [Abu Dawud 4772, Nisai 4102, Ibn e Majah 2580, Ahmed 1652, Tirmidhi 1426]

5. TO DIE PROTECTING YOUR WEALTH

It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (RA) said: A man came to the Messenger of Allah (SAW) and said: O Messenger of Allah, what do you think if a man comes wanting to take my property? He said: “Do not give him your property.” He said: What if he fights me? He said: “Fight him.” He said: What if he kills me? He said: “Then you will be a martyr.” He said: What if I kill him? He said: “He will be in Hell.” [Sahih Muslim (Vol. 1, pg. 124) No. 140]

6. TO DIE PROTECTING YOUR FAMILY

QUESTION 1:-

ANSWER_1:-

http://authentictauheed.blogspot.co.uk/2012/03/264-human-soul-revisited.html

By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; (An-Nazi'at 79:1)

By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); (An-Nazi'at 79:2)

-the soul returns to the body while in the grave
-to be rewarded or punished

Upon the authority of al-Bara' ibn `Aazib who said: We went out with the the Prophet (SAW) to a burial of a man from the Ansar (original inhabitants of Madina) until we arrived at the grave, and he still had not been placed in the slot of the grave. Then the Messenger of Allah (SAW) sat down and we sat around him. You would have thought that birds were upon our heads from our silence, and in the hand of the Messenger of Allah (SAW) was a stick which he was poking the ground with. [Then he started looking at the sky and looking at the earth and looking up down three times]. Then he said to us: "Ask Allah for refuge from the torment of the grave", he repeated this command two or three times. [Then he said O Allah I seek refuge in you from the torment of the grave] three times]. Then he said: "Verily, the believing servant, when leaving this life and journeying to the hereafter angels will descend upon him, their faces will be white as if they were suns, they will have with them a shroud (kafan) from the shroud of Paradise), and an embalmment (HanouT) from the embalmment's of heaven. Then, they will sit within eye-shot of him. Then the angel of death (peace be upon him) will come and sit at his head and will say "O you virtuous soul; come out to a forgiveness and a pleasure from your Lord ". So it will come out as a drop comes out of the mouth of a jug (with ease), then he will take it, not leaving it in his hand for longer that a blink of an eye until they (he and the other angels) have placed it in that shroud and that embalmment. And there will emanate from it a smell like that of the most sweet smelling musk on the face of the earth. Then they shall ascend with it, and they shall not pass with it by any group of angels but they will say: What is this good and sweet-smelling soul?. Then they shall say to them (he is) "such" the son of "such" choosing the best of the names he used to be called in this life. Until they reach the lowest sky, then they shall ask permission to enter, and they shall be granted entry, until they end at the seventh heaven sky, then Allah, exalted and high, shall say: "write the book of my servant in `illiyeen (1) [And what will explain to you what Illiyeen is `illiyeen, there is a register fully inscribed to which bear witness those nearest to Allah (see 83:18)], and his book will be written in `illiyeen, and the shall be said "return him to the earth, for [I promised them] I have created them from it, and into it I shall return them, and from it I shall extract (resurrect) them a second time (20:55)". So [he is returned to earth and] his soul is returned to his body [he said and he will hear the footsteps of his friends who buried him when they leave him]. Then two [severe] angels shall come and [terrify him and] sit him up next to them and shall ask him: "Who is your Lord?". He shall reply "My Lord is Allah". Then they shall ask him: "What is your religion?". He shall answer them: "My religion is Islam". Then they shall ask him "Who is this man who was sent among you?". He will reply "He is the Messenger of Allah (SAW) peace be upon him". Then they shall ask him "What have you done?". He shall reply: "I read the book of Allah, then I believed in it and accepted it". [The angel will terrify him and ask him "who is your Lord?", "what is your religion?" "who is your prophet?", and this will be the last trial on earth for the believer, it is then when Allah says : "Allah will establish in strength those who believe with the word that stands firm in this world", so he will answer my Lord is Allah, my religion is Islam and my Prophet is Mohammad (SAW). Then a caller will call from the sky: "My slave has spoken the truth, so spread out for him from the heaven, and clothe him from the heaven, and open a door for him from the heaven (within his grave)", so it's goodness and its smell will come unto him, then his grave will be expanded for him as far as he can see. Then a man will come to him. His face will be handsome, and his clothes will be handsome, and his smell will be sweet. Then he shall say unto him: I bring you glade tidings of that which will make you happy [Rejoice with a pleasure of Allah and delights that endure]. This is the day that you were promised (46:16). Then he will say [and may Allah give you glad tiding] "who are you?, for your face is the face of someone who comes with good news". He shall reply: "I am your good deeds, [by Allah, I did not know of you but that you were quick to the obedience of Allah and slow to His disobedience, so may Allah reward you good]". Then he shall say: "My Lord bring the hour so that I might return to my family and my wealth" [it will be said to him "be tranquil"] He (Mohammed, SAW) said: ( And the disbelieving [transgressor/wicked] servant), if he is leaving this life and journeying to the hereafter then angels will descend upon him, their faces will be black, they have with them a coarse woollen fabric (sackcloth)[ made of fire]. Then they will sit within eye-shot of him. Then the angel of death will come and sit at his head and will say "O you wicked soul; come out to a anger from your Lord and a fury (from Him)". So it will be distributed (spread out) throughout his body, then it will be ripped away as a skewer/spit is ripped out of damp cotton [and in its way out it will tear and cut the nerves and blood vessels] [and then he will be cursed by all the angels between the earth and the sky and by all the angels in the sky, and the gates of heaven are closed. There is no gate in the heaven but its people supplicate that the wicked soul shall not be ascended to their side], then he will take it (the soul), not leaving it in his hand for longer than a blink of an eye until they have placed it in that sackcloth. And there will emanate from it a stench like that of the most evil smelling corpse on the face of the earth. Then they shall ascend with it, and they shall not pass with it by a group of angels but they will say: What is this wicked soul?. Then they shall say to them (he is) "such" the son of "such" choosing the most hated of the names he used to be called in this life. Until they reach the lowest heaven (sky), then they shall ask permission to enter, and they shall not be granted entry. Then the Messenger of Allah (SAW) recited "The doors of the sky are not opened to them, nor shall they enter heaven until the camel passes through the eye of the needle" (7:40). Then Allah, exalted and high, shall say: "write the book of my servant in Sijjeen (2)(83:7) in the lowest earth". [Then will be said "return my slave to the earth, for I promised them I have created them from it, and into it I shall return them, and from it I shall extract (resurrect) them a second time (20:55)"]. Then his soul shall be taken away [from the sky] with a mighty hurl [until it is cast into his body]. Then he (the Prophet, SAW) read: "and those who associate partners with Allah, They are as one who falls from the sky then is snatched by the birds or is cast by the wind into a very low place (22:31)". Then his soul will be returned into his body, [he (the prophet) said : verily he will hear the footsteps of his friends who buried him when they leave him]. Then two harsh severe and fearsome angels shall come and [terrify him and] sit him up and shall ask him: "Who is your Lord?". He shall reply "Huh?, Huh (this is an expression of sorrow), I don't know". Then they shall ask him: "What is your religion?". He shall answer them: "Huh?, Huh?, I don't know". Then they shall ask him "Who is this man who was sent among you?". He will reply "Huh?, Huh?, I don't know [I heard people saying that!]". He (the Prophet, SAW) said "And then will be said to him don't ever know and don't ever recite!"]. Then a caller will call from the sky: "My slave has spoken falsely, so spread out for him from the hell fire, and open a door for him from the hell fire (within his grave)", so its heat and hot wind will come unto him, then his grave will be contracted upon him until his limbs are caught up among one another. Then a man will come to him. His face will be ugly, and his clothes will be ugly, and his smell will be vile. Then he shall say unto him: I bring you tidings of that which will harm you. This is the day that you were promised (70:44). Then he will say [and you, may Allah give you bad tiding] "who are you?, for your face is the face of someone who comes with evil". He shall reply: "I am your evil deeds [by Allah, I did not know of you but that you were quick to the disobedience of Allah and slow to His obedience, so may Allah reward you bad, and then will be assigned to him a blind, deaf and mute person who holds in his hand a hammer, if a mountain is hit with it, it would disintegrate, and he will beat him with it until he becomes dust, and then Allah will render him to his initial form, and he will beat him again, and he (the wicked) will cry of sorrow and pain a cry that will be heard by all creatures except humans and jinn, and a door of hell will be opened unto him within his grave and will spread out for him sheets of hell fire]". Then he shall say: "My Lord do not bring the hour".
