On the authority of Abu Muhammad Abdullah bin ’Amr bin al-’Aas (RA) who said: The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "None of you [truly] believes until his desires are subservient to that which I have brought." [Imam an-Nawawi says:] We have related it in Kitab al-Hujjah with a saheeh chain of narrators.

He embraced Islam 7 years after the hijrah, one year before his father
-his father was Amr ibn Al As
-who was a celebrated sahabi

He was the first sahabi to write down the hadeeth he heard from the prophet (saw)

Abdullah bin Amr said: “I used to write everything which I heard from the Messenger of Allah (SAW). I intended (by it) to memorize it. The Quraish prohibited me, saying ‘Do you write everything that you hear from him, while the Messenger of Allah is a human being (Bashr), he speaks in anger and pleasure?’ So I stopped writing, and mentioned it to the Messenger of Allah (SAW). He pointed with his finger to his mouth and said: ‘Write, by Him in whose hand my soul lies, only right (Haqq) comes out from it.’ [Sunan Abu Dawud (3/318) No. 3646]

-so people used to say why was he writing them
-because the prophet (saw) was just a human being and said some things out of anger
-so he approached the prophet (saw) who told him to write down everything
-because only the haqq comes from his mouth
-Allah said:

Nor does he speak of (his own) desire. (An-Najm 53:3)

It is only an Inspiration that is inspired. (An-Najm 53:4)

-so only the truth came from his mouth
-even when cracking jokes he never lied

The Prophet said: “Woe to the one who lies in his speech to make people laugh, woe to him! woe to him!” (Abu Dawood 4990 & Tirmidhi 2315))

Abdullah ibn Amr ibn Al As was the first sahabi to compile a book of hadeeth
-it was called sahifa as-sadiqa

The prophet used to prefer him over his father because of his taqwa and ilm
-Ahmad ibn Hanbal who memorized 1 million hadeeth
-incorporated the works of Abdullah ibn Amr ibn Al As inside his musnad

His father, Amr ibn Al As was the great conqueror of Egypt
-he kept on telling Umar 'let's conquer Egypt' until one day
-Umar (r.a) said he will do istikhara about it
-then he told Amr to go into Egypt
-he led the battle himself and conquered it
-a masjid in Egypt is named after him

Abdullah ibn Amr ibn Al As had so much knowledge about hadeeth

Abu Hurayra said, “Among the Companions of the Prophet (SAW), no one has more hadiths than I except for 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr. He used to write them down which I did not do.” [Sahih Bukhari (1/34) No. 113]

-the reason for this was he used to write
-and you don’t forget something when you write it

He used to fast many days non-stop
-one day the Rasool (saw) told him your eyes have a right over you as well as your family
-and the prophet asked him to do the fast of Dawood (a.s)
-he said he could do better than that
-but the prophet told him there is no fast better than that

On the authority of 'Abdullah bin 'Amr bin Al-'As: The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "O 'Abdullah! I have been informed that you fast all the day and stand in prayer all night?" I said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah!" He said, "Do not do that! Observe the fast sometimes and also leave them (the fast) at other times; stand up for the prayer at night and also sleep at night. Your body has a right over you, your eyes have a right over you and your wife has a right over you." [al-Bukhari (5199) and Muslim (1159)]

Abdullah bin Amr bin al-'As (RA) narrated the Messenger of Allah (SAW) was informed that I have said: "By Allah, I will fast all the days and pray all the nights as long as I live." On that, the Messenger of Allah asked me. "Are you the one who says: 'I will fast all the days and pray all the nights as long as I live?' "I said, "Yes, I have said it." He said, "You cannot do that. So fast (sometimes) and do not fast (sometimes). Pray and sleep. Fast for three days a month, for the reward of a good deed is multiplied by ten times, and so the fasting of three days a month equals the fasting of a year." I said: "I am capable of doing more than this, O Messenger of Allah." Thereupon he said: "Fast one day and do not fast for the next two days." I said: "Messenger of Allah, I have the strength to do more than that." The Holy Prophet (SAW), said: "Fast one day and break on the other day. That is known as the fasting of Dawud (AS) and that is the best fasting." I said: "I am capable of doing more than this." Thereupon the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "There is nothing better than this." [al-Bukhari (3418) and Muslim (1159)]

So because of Abdullah ibn Amr ibn Al As
-the prophet (saw) recommended the fast of David
-because some sahabah were so pious they used to fast non stop
-but your wife and body have rights over you

He died in Madina 65 years AH at the age of 72

"None of you [truly] believes until his desires are subservient to that which I have brought."

-the word Islam does not mean peace
-it means ‘to surrender to Allah with tauheed and to submit to Him
-with obedience and to renounce shirk and the people of shirk’
-this is the definition of Islam
-it means to surrender to Allah's will

What did Muhammad (saw) bring?
-he brought Qur'an and Sunnah
-and because of this your desires have to be in accordance
-with these and surrender to them
-and you need to get 3 things right:

-not until you get these 3 things right
-you have not surrendered to Qur'an and Sunnah
-Allah said:

O you who believe! Obey Allah and obey the Messenger (Muhammad SAW), and those of you (Muslims) who are in authority. (And) if you differ in anything amongst yourselves, refer it to Allah and His Messenger (SAW), if you believe in Allah and in the Last Day. That is better and more suitable for final determination. (An-Nisa 4:59)

If you believe in Allah and the last day
-don’t go to the kaafir court houses
-take it to the Shari’ah court
-if you take your dispute to the kaafir court houses, you are guilty of committing shirk

While 'Allama al-Shinqiti-May Allah be merciful with him-has said: To commit shirk with Allah in judging is of the same meaning as to commit shirk in His worship, there is no difference between the two in any manner. There is no difference in any sense between he who follows a system (nizam) other than Allah's system or law other than Allah's law (sharia) and he who worships an idol or prostrates to a false god. They are the same and both are polytheists [associating others] with Allah. [Adwa' al-Bayan, (7/162)]

Allah said:

It is not for a believer, man or woman, when Allah and His Messenger have decreed a matter that they should have any option in their decision. And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger, he has indeed strayed in a plain error. (Al-Ahzab 33:36)

Do not underestimate the evil and corrupted desires of man

And if the truth had been in accordance with their desires, verily, the heavens and the earth, and whosoever is therein would have been corrupted! Nay, We have brought them their reminder, but they turn away from their reminder. (Al-Mu'minun 23:71)

-because the evil desires of men have no barriers
-and you have seen what they do if there is no Shari’ah

In Brazil you can sleep with your own daughter
-Denmark has animal brothels

-UK and USA allow same sex marriages
-so do not underestimate the evil and corrupted desires of men

Bestiality is allowed in the US army
-your army is cursed so how can you stand up to the mujahideen

Allah said if He had revealed the Qur'an to coincide with the evil desires of men
-the heavens would have been destroyed

Hadeeth 41 is also telling you there are many people out there
-whose desires are not in accordance with what Muhammad (saw) brought
-the Buddhist worship the Buddha
-the Christians worship 3 gods
-that is why Allah cursed them

Surely, disbelievers are those who said: "Allah is the third of the three (in a Trinity)." But there is no ilah (god) (none who has the right to be worshipped) but One Ilah (God -Allah). And if they cease not from what they say, verily, a painful torment will befall the disbelievers among them. (Al-Ma'idah 5:73)

The deity worshipped in Islam is Allah
-the god of democracy is hawa - evil and corrupted desires

Have you seen him who takes his own lust (vain desires) as his ilah (god), and Allah knowing (him as such), left him astray, and sealed his hearing and his heart, and put a cover on his sight. Who then will guide him after Allah? Will you not then remember? (Al-Jathiyah 45:23)

The countries that allow those evil desires of men to take place are democratic countries
-and their god is hawa

This hadeeth is clear evidence that hadeeth is hujjah
-but there are people out there who claim that we should not follow hadeeth
-they are the followers of Ghulam Ahmad Parvezi
-and they call themselves the submitters

He was born in the Punjab of India and died in 1985
-born in 1903
-he preached this aqeeda because he said the word hadeeth means gossip

We will refute his aqeeda insha Allah
-some of you call these people Qur’aniyun
-why do you call them so?
-who told you they believe in Qur'an?
-if they were believers in Qur'an they would have believed in the hadeeth

Say (O Muhammad SAW to mankind): "If you (really) love Allah then follow me (i.e. accept Islamic Monotheism, follow the Qur'an and the Sunnah), Allah will love you and forgive you of your sins. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." (Aali Imran 3:31)

...And whatsoever the Messenger (Muhammad SAW) gives you, take it, and whatsoever he forbids you, abstain (from it), and fear Allah. Verily, Allah is Severe in punishment. (Al-Hashr 59:7)

With clear signs and Books (We sent the Messengers). And We have also sent down unto you (O Muhammad SAW) the reminder and the advice (the Qur'an), that you may explain clearly to men what is sent down to them, and that they may give thought. (An-Nahl 16:44)

With all these verses, how can a Parvezi claim he will follow Qur'an but not hadeeth?
-so many things were made haram on us by hadeeth:

Abu Musa Ash’ari reported that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, “Wearing silk and gold is forbidden to the men of my Ummah. But (they are) allowed to their women.” [Sunan Tirmidhi (4/217) No. 1720, Sunan An-Nasa'i (8/161) 5148]

Narrated Um Habiba: I said, "O Allah's Apostle! Marry my sister, the daughter of Abu Sufyan." He said, "Do you like that?" I said, "Yes, for even now I am not your only wife; and the most beloved person to share the good with me is my sister." The Prophet said, "But that is not lawful for me (i.e., to be married to two sisters at a time.)" I said, "O Allah's Apostle! By Allah, we have heard that you want to marry Durra, the daughter of Abu Salama." He said, "You mean the daughter of Um Salama?" I said, "Yes." He said, "By Allah ! Even if she were not my stepdaughter, she would not be lawful for me to marry, for she is my foster niece, for Thuwaiba has suckled me and Abu Salama; so you should neither present your daughters, nor your sisters to me." [Sahih Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 62, Number #43]

Bara bin Aazib (RA) said that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) was asked about making ablution after eating camel flesh. He said, “Make ablution after that”. Then he was asked about mutton. He said, “It is not necessary after that.” [Sunan Dawud (1/47) No. 184, Sunan Tirmidhi (1/122) No. 81, Sunan Ibn Majah (1/311) No. 494, Musnad Ahmad (4/303) No 18725]

...'Umar did not take the Jizya from the Magian infidels till 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Auf testified that Allah's Apostle had taken the Jizya from the Magians of Hajar. [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 4, Book 53, Hadith #384]

"Pray as you have seen me praying..." [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 1, Book 11, Hadith #604]

Narrated By 'Ubada bin As-Samit: The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "Whoever does not recite Al-Fatiha in his prayer, his prayer is invalid." [al-Bukhari (756) and Muslim (394)]

Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard...Abu Bakr as-Siddiq came and said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah (SAW), say, 'No prophet was ever buried except in the place where he died.' [Maliks Muwatta, Book 16, Hadith #027]

It was narrated from al-Diya’ from Jareer ibn ‘Abd-Allah (RA) that the Prophet (SAW) said: “The month of Ramadan is suspended between heaven and earth and is not taken up to Allah except by zakat al-fitr.” [at-Targhib wat-Tarhib al-Mundhiri (2/97) No. 1653, al-Jami' al-Saghir al-Suyuti (No. 7156)]

-i can give you HUNDREDS more examples
-anyone who claims to believe Quran but not Hadith is a LIAR

...And whatsoever the Messenger (Muhammad SAW) gives you, take it, and whatsoever he forbids you, abstain (from it), and fear Allah. Verily, Allah is Severe in punishment. (Al-Hashr 59:7)

Verily, those who disbelieve in Allah and His Messengers and wish to make distinction between Allah and His Messengers (by believing in Allah and disbelieving in His Messengers) saying, "We believe in some but reject others," and wish to adopt a way in between. (An-Nisa 4:150)

They are in truth disbelievers. And We have prepared for the disbelievers a humiliating torment. (An-Nisa 4:151)

-this proves that Hadith AHAAD is HUJJAH
-what is Hadith AHAAD?
-a hadith that reached us through one narrator

The companions of the Prophet (saw) used to act upon Hadith Ahad
-and made NO DIFFERENCE between Aqeeda & Sharia
-therefore it became the Ijmaa of the Sahabah that Hadith Ahad is Hujjah (evidence)

To Pour Scorn on hadith Ahad, claiming it's not hujjah,
-and this is the stance of Hizb-ut-Tahrir

A lone Arab came out of the desert and told the Prophet he had seen the moon
-the Prophet asked him to testify to the shahada and fasting started in Madina

Ibn 'Abbas (RA) narrated, 'A Bedouin came to the Prophet (SAW) and said, 'I have sighted the crescent (of Ramadan). He then said to him, "Do you testify that there is none worthy of worship but Allah?" The Bedouin said, 'Yes.' He asked him again, "Do you testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah?'' The man replied, 'Yes.' The Messenger of Allah (SAW) thereupon said, "O Bilal! Announce to the people to (start) fasting tomorrow." [Sunan Abu Dawud (2/302) No. 2340, Sunan al-Nasa'i (4/132) No. 2113, Sunan Tirmidhi (3/74) No. 691, Sunan Ibn Majah (2/565) No. 1652, Sunan al-Darime (2/9) No. 1692]

-so to follow the creed of Hizb-ut-Tahrir is contrary to what the Prophet did (above hadith)

Narrated By 'Abdullah bin 'Umar: While the people were offering the Fajr prayer at Quba (near Medina), someone came to them and said: "It has been revealed to Allah's Apostle tonight, and he has been ordered to pray facing the Ka'ba." So turn your faces to the Ka'ba. Those people were facing Sham (Jerusalem) so they turned their faces towards Ka'ba (at Mecca). [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 1, Book 8, Hadith #397]

-these people (in the above hadith) acted upon a Hadith Ahad
-if a member of HT was in the masjid (Quba)
-he would have refused to change direction
-because it was only relayed by one person

Muadh Ibn Jabal was sent ALONE to Yemen to teach the people Tauheed, Sharia

Narrated By Ibn Abbas: When the Prophet sent Muadh to Yemen, he said to him, "You are going to a nation from the people of the Scripture, so let the first thing to which you will invite them, be the Tauhid of Allah. If they learn that, tell them that Allah has enjoined on them, five prayers to be offered in one day and one night. And if they pray, tell them that Allah has enjoined on them Zakat of their properties and it is to be taken from the rich among them and given to the poor. And if they agree to that, then take from them Zakat but avoid the best property of the people." [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 9, Book 93, Hadith #469]

-a member of HT would say The Prophet did a dis-service to the people of Yemen
-on the basis that Muadh Ibn Jabal was a lone carrier of the information
-so the implication of HT's statement is very, very dangerous

-the shaytan was the first Mu’tazilite (rationalist)
-he didn't accept the commandment of Allah (Swt) to bow down to Adam (as)

And among mankind is he who disputes concerning Allāh, without knowledge, and follows every rebellious (disobedient to Allāh) Shaitān (devil) (devoid of each and every kind of good). (Al-Hajj 22:3)

(Allāh) said: "What prevented you (O Iblīs) that you did not prostrate, when I commanded you?" Iblīs said: "I am better than him (Adam), You created me from fire, and him You created from clay." (Al-A'raf 7:12)

-e.g. Parvezi

Verily, those who disbelieve in Allāh and His Messengers and wish to make distinction between Allāh and His Messengers (by believing in Allāh and disbelieving in His Messengers) saying, "We believe in some but reject others," and wish to adopt a way in between. (An-Nisa 4:150)

They are in truth disbelievers. And We have prepared for the disbelievers a humiliating torment. (An-Nisa 4:151)

-this refers to people who make a distinction between Quran & Sunnah

-those who prefer their culture over the Hujjah

When it is said to them: "Follow what Allah has sent down." They say: "Nay! We shall follow what we found our fathers following." (Would they do that!) Even though their fathers did not understand anything nor were they guided? (Al-Baqarah 2:170)

-Berailvis, Shias, etc. all fall into this category
-Qaadiyanis too they are loyal to a fault

-their stance is complete rejection

Have you seen him who takes his own lust (vain desires) as his ilāh (god), and Allāh knowing (him as such), left him astray, and sealed his hearing and his heart, and put a cover on his sight. Who then will guide him after Allāh? Will you not then remember? (Al-Jathiyah 45:23)

-they would rather follow their madhab, than Quran and/or Sunnah
-you are allowed to blind follow with regards to FIQH.. BUT NOT AQEEDA

When those who were followed, disown (declare themselves innocent of) those who followed (them), and they see the torment, then all their relations will be cut off from them. (Al-Baqarah 2:166)

-today he's a Muslim and then in 6 months he's a kafir
-then he comes back

And among mankind is he who worships Allāh as it were, upon the very edge (i.e. in doubt); if good befalls him, he is content therewith; but if a trial befalls him, he turns back on his face (i.e. reverts back to disbelief after embracing Islām). He loses both this world and the Hereafter. That is the evident loss. (Al-Hajj 22:11)

If you ask them (about this), they declare: "We were only talking idly and joking." Say: "Was it at Allāh, and His Ayāt (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and His Messenger (SAW) that you were mocking?" (At-Tawbah 9:65)

Make no excuse; you have disbelieved after you had believed. If We pardon some of you, We will punish others amongst you because they were Mujrimûn (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, criminals, etc.). (At-Tawbah 9:66)

Then do you believe in a part of the Scripture and reject the rest? Then what is the recompense of those who do so among you, except disgrace in the life of this world, and on the Day of Resurrection they shall be consigned to the most grievous torment. And Allāh is not unaware of what you do. (Al-Baqarah 2:85)

-a Madkhali will come into Islam for the multiple wives
-but when faced with Jihad he'll run a mile, on the basis of the Covenant of Security
-such people don't live BY the deen
-they live OFF the Deen
-those who say 'no jihad without a caliph'
-had no problem when Afghanistan was against the USSR

- Some caliphs used to pay people to fabricate hadith
-to support their agenda

Narrated By Anas: The fact which stops me from narrating a great number of Hadiths to you is that the Prophet said: "Whoever tells a lie against me intentionally, then (surely) let him occupy his seat in Hell-fire." [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 1, Book 3, Hadith #108]

-‘Ibn Idris was more dangerous to the ummah than Iblees’
-the Hanafis fabricate this above against Imam Shafi’i
-some people say "We didn't lie ON the Prophet we lie FOR the Prophet"
-they fabricate the Hujjah to support their creed, madhab,

FABRICATED: "There will be a man among my Ummah known as Muhammad bin Idrees, who will be more harmful to my ummah than Iblees, and there will be a man among my ummah known as Abu Haneefah, who will be the lamp of my ummah." [Mawdoo` (Fabricated). Ibn al-Jawzi quoted it in al-Mawdoo`aat (1/457)]

-splitting up into groups & splinter groups is one of the signs of the last day

But they (men) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its belief. (Al-Mu'minun 23:53)

Assalamu alaikum shaikh, can you please explain the concept of "lesser evil" in Shari'ah and when is it applicable? It seems so many people use this concept to justify their kufr and shirk, especially Muslims in darul harb.

-an example of lesser evil is for example to drive with insurance
-to drive without is a greater evil because they will put you in prison
-the greater evil is castration and the lesser evil is mut’a (temporary marriage)
-this question is to do with usool fiqh

Assalamu alaikum Shaikh, kindly advice regarding the status of 'Bismillah hir Ramaan nir Raheem' in Surah Fatiha. I understand it is officially Ayat #1 yet, a lot of imams do not say it out loudly when leading Maghrib & Esha at the masjids. Kindly advise if they should be. Jzk.

-according to Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal and Imam Shafi’i it is the first ayat of surah Fatiha
-this is the correct opinion
-if they didn't recite it aloud, the prayer is still valid
-Abu Hanifa and Imam Malik don't believe it is an ayah
-they say the prophet began with *Alhamdulillah not *Bismillah* in the hadith
-when he was showing the sahabah the prayer
-so they use that as their hujjah
-it is not to be made an issue whether said loud or soft

Narrated By Abu Said Al-Mualla: While I was praying, the Prophet passed by and called me, but I did not go to him till I had finished my prayer. When I went to him, he said, "What prevented you from coming?" I said, "I was praying." He said, "Didn't Allah say" "O you who believes Give your response to Allah (by obeying Him) and to His Apostle." (8.24) Then he added, "Shall I tell you the most superior Sura in the Qur'an before I go out of the mosque?" When the Prophet intended to go out (of the Mosque), I reminded him and he said, "That is: "Alhamdu-lillahi Rabbil-'Alamin (Surat-al-fatiha)' which is the seven oft repeated verses (Al-Mathani) and the Grand Quran which has been given to me." [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 6, Book 60, Hadith 226]

Can a brother see a lawyer if he has immigration issues? If he does not get a lawyer he might have to leave the country.

-you should not be encouraged to stay in darul harb
-only if you want to get education or give da’wah
-you should make hijra to Muslim countries
-don't stay and feed the kaffir system

If i wanted to use this hadith (hadith 41 of Imam Nawawi) to talk to a Berailvis to stop him from doing bid’ah etc. he may say that this hadith is not from 1 of the 6 authentic books of hadith, how would i be able to refute him?

-to refute Berailvis you have to attack their creed
-we trust imam An Nawawi more than them
-use that ayah below as the knockout punch
-they are grave worshippers

Surely, the religion (i.e. the worship and the obedience) is for Allāh only. And those who take Auliyā' (protectors and helpers) besides Him (say): "We worship them only that they may bring us near to Allāh." Verily, Allāh will judge between them concerning that wherein they differ. Truly, Allāh guides not him who is a liar, and a disbeliever. (Az-Zumar 39:3)

If you invoke (or call upon) them, they hear not your call, and if (in case) they were to hear, they could not grant it (your request) to you. And on the Day of Resurrection, they will disown your worshipping them. And none can inform you (O Muhammad SAW) like Him Who is the All-Knower (of each and everything)[]. (Fatir 35:14)

Verily, you (O Muhammad SAW) will die and verily, they (too) will die. (Az-Zumar 39:30)

Narrated By 'Aisha: Abu Bakr came from his house at As-Sunh on a horse. He dismounted and entered the Mosque, but did not speak to the people till he entered upon 'Aisha and went straight to Allah's Apostle who was covered with Hibra cloth (i.e. a kind of Yemenite cloth). He then uncovered the Prophet's face and bowed over him and kissed him and wept, saying, "Let my father and mother be sacrificed for you. By Allah, Allah will never cause you to die twice. As for the death which was written for you, has come upon you." Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: Abu Bakr went out while Umar bin Al-Khattab was talking to the people. Abu Bakr said, "Sit down, O 'Umar!" But 'Umar refused to sit down. So the people came to Abu Bakr and left Umar. Abu Bakr said, "To proceed, if anyone amongst you used to worship Muhammad , then Muhammad is dead, but if (anyone of) you used to worship Allah, then Allah is Alive and shall never die. Allah said: "Muhammad is no more than an Apostle, and indeed (many) apostles have passed away before him...(till the end of the Verse)... Allah will reward to those who are thankful." (3.144) By Allah, it was as if the people never knew that Allah had revealed this Verse before till Abu Bakr recited it and all the people received it from him, and I heard everybody reciting it (then). [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 5, Book 59, Hadith #733]

Say (O Muhammad SAW): "I am only a man like you. It has been inspired to me that your Ilāh (God) is One Ilāh (God i.e. Allāh). So whoever hopes for the Meeting with his Lord, let him work righteousness and associate none as a partner in the worship of his Lord." (Al-Kahf 18:110)
