By Shaikh Abdullah Faisal Morning Dars: April 17, 2013

(Morning Dars 17.04.2013)
(Notes typed live by abdul_malik_4, Edited by muminah_29)

The word for deeds is "tair"
"Tair" is a bird that flies.
Why did Allah use this word?

And every man's augury have We fastened to his own neck, and We shall bring forth for him on the Day of Resurrection a book which he will find wide open. (Surah Al Israa 17:13)

"Tair" also means omen
It’s because of wrong ideologies that you do wrong deeds.
You cannot separate your creed from your deeds
"Tair" is your belief in omen.
Allah is saying your deeds depend on your creed
We all have a book where all our deeds are recorded

Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, (Surah Al Inshiqaq 84:7)

He surely will receive an easy reckoning, (Surah Al Inshiqaq 84:8)

And will return to his family in joy! (Surah Al Inshiqaq 84:9)

But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, (Surah Al Inshiqaq 84:10)

He will invoke (for his) destruction, (Surah Al Inshiqaq 84:11)

And he shall enter a blazing Fire, and be made to taste its burning. (Surah Al Inshiqaq 84:12)

Our deeds are recorded in a book as Allah tells us in Chapter 8 vs. 7-12.
To give something to an Arab with your left hand is an insult.
You should give and receive things with your right hand.

On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). (Surah Al Qiyamah 75:13)

Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. (Surah Al Qiyamah 75:14)

Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). (Surah Al Qiyamah 75:15)

Another proof: deeds will be laid in front of man on the Day of Judgment before him to see.

(It will be said to him): "Read your book. You yourself are sufficient as a reckoner against you this Day." (Surah Al Israa 17:14)

So whosoever does good equal to the weight of an atom (or a small ant), shall see it. (Surah Al ZalZalah 99:07)

And whosoever does evil equal to the weight of an atom (or a small ant), shall see it. (Surah Al ZalZalah 99:08)

We will be witnesses for our deeds...
Man would lie in the hereafter for his deeds.... on judgment day it will all be played back to you ... and he will see it then.

When they lie on the Day of Judgment, Allah will seal their lips and make their hands and feet testify, the
proof for that is in Ch 36:65

This Day, We shall seal up their mouths, and their hands will speak to Us, and their legs will bear witness to what they used to earn. (It is said that one's left thigh will be the first to bear the witness). [Tafsir At-Tabarî] (Surah Al Yasin 36:65)

The ulema have said the first limb to testify would be the left leg.

We are responsible for our good and bad deeds
The proof is in Ch 17:15

Whoever goes right, then he goes right only for the benefit of his ownself. And whoever goes astray, then he goes astray to his own loss. No one laden with burdens can bear another's burden. And We never punish until We have sent a Messenger (to give warning). (Surah Al Israa 17:15)

Allah doesn’t need our deeds (good or bad), if we do good it is for ourselves, and if we do evil we harm ourselves.
Proof is hadith Qudsi

On the Day of Judgment no soul will be made to bear the burden of another soul.
According to Abu Hanifa Malik and Shafii, a bastard child cannot lead prayer in community
Ahmed ibn Hanbal differed
His proof was the ayah Ch 17:15 because the child didn’t commit zina, it was his parents who did zina. There shouldn’t be any burden on him.
The Hanbali opinion is more accurate according to evidence.
The most rigid of the jamhoor was imam Malik. Hanafis and Shafiis said it is makrooh.

Advantages of learning comparative Fiqh.
Shaikh questions how do you reconcile Ch 17:15 with Ch 29:13?
They appear to contradict each other.

And verily, they shall bear their own loads, and other loads besides their own, and verily, they shall be questioned on the Day of Resurrection about that which they used to fabricate. ( Surah Al Ankabut 29:13)

This is for people who spread corruption. They are doing sin and promoting it, so people who follow them they bear their sins too.

Whoever goes right, then he goes right only for the benefit of his ownself. And whoever goes astray, then he goes astray to his own loss. No one laden with burdens can bear another's burden. And We never punish until We have sent a Messenger (to give warning). (Surah Al Israa 17:15)

This refers to people who bring innovations in the deen (Bid’ah)
If you do a good thing in a community, everyone who follows you, you get Baraka.
Similarly if you do a bad thing in a community and others follow you, you’ll get a copy of their evil deeds too
During Umar (r) reign, if he saw a kafir giving Tafseer that person would be flogged with 80 lashes.
Bid’ah can lead to shirk as well and introduction of alien ideologies to Islam
Allah says in 67:8-9
He doesn’t punish the wicked unless he sends a warner to warn them
Prophet Noah called the people to the worship Allah alone for 950 years but the people still rejected faith and on the Day of Judgment the angels will ask the disbelievers didn’t a warner come to you?

Almost bursting with fury: Every time a Group is cast therein, its Keepers will ask, "Did no Warner come to you?" (Surah Al Mulk 67:8)

They will say: "Yes indeed; a Warner did come to us, but we rejected him and said, 'Allah never sent down any (Message): ye are nothing but an egregious delusion!'" (Surah Al Mulk 67:9)

On judgment day we the ummah of Muhammad (s.a.w.s.) will be a witness against the kuffar.

Thus We have made you [true Muslims - real believers of Islâmic Monotheism, true followers of Prophet Muhammad SAW and his Sunnah (legal ways)], a (just) (and the best) nation, that you be witnesses over mankind[] and the Messenger (Muhammad SAW) be a witness over you. (Surah Al Baqarah 2:143)

Some people take the ayah out of context
Those who take the ayah out of context, they say you cannot call a mushrik a kafir unless the hujjah is established against him.
This is a deviant view spread in some rooms.

And (remember) when your Lord brought forth from the Children of Adam, from their loins, their seed (or from Adam's loin his offspring) and made them testify as to themselves (saying): "Am I not your Lord?" They said: "Yes! We testify," lest you should say on the Day of Resurrection: "Verily, we have been unaware of this." (Surah Al A’raf 7:172)

Or lest you should say: "It was only our fathers aforetime who took others as partners in worship along with Allah, and we were (merely their) descendants after them; will You then destroy us because of the deeds of men who practiced Al-Batil (i.e. polytheism and committing crimes and sins, invoking and worshipping others besides Allah)?"( Surah Al A’raf 7:172)

Another evidence is Surah Baiyyinah verse 1

Those who disbelieve from among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) and Al-Mushrikûn,[] were not going to leave (their disbelief) until there came to them clear evidence (Surah Al Baiyyinah 98:1)

Allah calls them Mushrikun even before the hujjah is established

Another evidence is the hadith

Anas reported: Verily, a person said: Messenger of Allah, where is my father? He said: (He) is in the Fire. When he turned away, he (the Holy Prophet) called him and said: Verily my father and your father are in the Fire. ... {Sahih Muslim}

There is no excuse of ignorance.
The Prophet’s father did major shirk
There were some people in Makkah that didn’t do shirk, like Zaid bin Amr bin Naufal.
There is no excuse for shirk, once you know the correct aqeedah you wont be affected by deviant ideologies and viruses, you will get immunized.
Saudi salafis, the shady shias, and the goofy Sufis, the only cure for ignorance is knowledge.
The scholars, when they reconcile the 2 ayahs, they also brought 16:25

They may bear their own burdens in full on the Day of Resurrection, and also of the burdens of those whom they misled without knowledge. Evil indeed is that which they shall bear! (Surah An Nahl 16:25)

This is a re-conciliatory ayah

And when We decide to destroy a town (population), We (first) send a definite order (to obey Allâh and be righteous) to those among them [or We (first) increase in number those of its population] who lead a life of luxury. Then, they transgress therein, and thus the word (of torment) is justified against it (them). Then We destroy it with complete destruction {Surah Al Israa 17:16}

The people of status quo didn’t submit to the message, because they fear they lose their positions in society so it’s harder for them to change.

There are exceptions
Allah guides whom he wills, e.g. Talha bin Ubaidullah, Abu Bakr As- Siddiq, Uthman Ghani.
Those who opposed rasulullah (saw) were Abu Jahl, Abu Lahab, Abu Sufyan, for them polytheism was business.
They profited from it and that’s why they opposed Islam ..

The "mala” with elite status quo, they oppose the message of the Prophets

And thus We have set up in every town great ones of its wicked people to plot therein. But they plot not except against their own selves, and they perceive (it) not. (Surah Al An’am 6:123)

Musa (as) enemy was Qarun, who tried to malign him.
Isa (as) enemy was king Harrod.
Rasulullah (saw) enemies were Abu Jahl, Abu Lahab, Utbah, Shybah
Ibrahim (as) enemy was nimrod.

The kuffar made fun of rasulullah when his son died (18month according to Shaikh’s research)
They were desperate to use any mishap to discredit the message of Islam
Surah al Kawthar was revealed at time of rasulullah sons’ death to console him.
The kuffar media and their military establishment are plotting against the Muslimun
This struggle will continue for those who carry the message of Islam.

O you who believe! Turn to Allah with sincere repentance! It may be that your Lord will expiate from you your sins, and admit you into Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise) the Day that Allâh will not disgrace the Prophet (Muhammad SAW) and those who believe with him, Their Light will run forward before them and (with their Records — Books of deeds) in their right hands They will say: "Our Lord! Keep perfect our Light for us [and do not put it off till we cross over the Sirât (a slippery bridge over the Hell) safely] and grant us forgiveness. Verily, You are Able to do all things[] ." (Surah As Saff 61:8)

O Prophet (Muhammad SAW)! Strive hard against the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be severe against them; their abode will be Hell, and worst indeed is that destination. (Surah As Saff 61:9)

Another proof is Ch 8:36

Verily, those who disbelieve spend their wealth to hinder (men) from the Path of Allâh, and so will they continue to spend it; but in the end it will become an anguish for them. Then they will be overcomed. And those who disbelieve will be gathered unto Hell (Surah Al Anfal 8:36)
