Bismillah…

1. SHIRK

-There are two types of shirks: major and minor
-major shirk is to worship false deities
-minor shirk is to show off
-there are differences between major and minor shirk

1) Major shirk makes you a kaffir; minor shirk makes you a faasiq

2) Major nullifies all your pious deeds; minor shirk nullifies the deed that accompanies it

And indeed it has been revealed to you (O Muhammad SAW), as it was to those (Allah's Messengers) before you: "If you join others in worship with Allah, (then) surely (all) your deeds will be in vain, and you will certainly be among the losers." (Az-Zumar 39:65)

-the above ayah is hujjah for the second differentiation
-we should take this serious

3) Major shirk cannot be forgiven if you die in this state; minor shirk can be forgiven

Verily, Allah forgives not that partners should be set up with him in worship, but He forgives except that (anything else) to whom He pleases, and whoever sets up partners with Allah in worship, he has indeed invented a tremendous sin. (An-Nisa 4:48)

-you cannot make dua for someone who died in a state of shirk

It is not (proper) for the Prophet and those who believe to ask Allah's Forgiveness for the Mushrikun (polytheists, idolaters, pagans, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah) even though they be of kin, after it has become clear to them that they are the dwellers of the Fire (because they died in a state of disbelief). (At-Tawbah 9:113)

-the prophet (saw) could not make dua for his uncle to get out of the hellfire
-only for him to get the lightest punishment

Narrated By Al-Abbas bin 'Abdul Muttalib: That he said to the Prophet "You have not been of any avail to your uncle (Abu Talib) (though) by Allah, he used to protect you and used to become angry on your behalf." The Prophet said, "He is in a shallow fire, and had It not been for me, he would have been in the bottom of the (Hell) Fire." [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 5, Book 58, Hadith #222]

Ibn 'Abbas reported: The Prophet (may peace be upon him) said: Among the inhabitants of the Fire Abu Talib would have the least suffering, and he would be wearing two shoes (of Fire) which would boil his brain. [Sahih Muslim, Book 1, Hadith #0413]

4) The person dying whilst committing major shirk will stay in the hellfire forever
-the one who committed minor shirk will come out of hellfire with shafa’a

5) There Is No Excuse Of Ignorance For Major Shirk (Shirk Of Worship); Minor: They Have Excuse Of Ignorance

:: THE DIFFERENT SHADES OF SHIRK::

1) THE SHIRK OF LOVE

And of mankind are some who take (for worship) others besides Allah as rivals (to Allah). They love them as they love Allah. But those who believe, love Allah more (than anything else). If only, those who do wrong could see, when they will see the torment, that all power belongs to Allah and that Allah is Severe in punishment. (Al-Baqarah 2:165)

-this is when someone loves something the way he loves Allah or more
-some don't come to Jumuah because they are busy making money

2) THE SHIRK OF IBAADAH

-To worship a false deity instead of Allah
-like the Hindus

3) THE SHIRK OF FEAR

On the authority of Abu Sa'id (RA), who said that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "Let not any one of you belittle himself." They said: "O Messenger of Allah, how can any one of us belittle himself?" He said: "He finds a matter concerning Allah about which he should say something, and he does not say [it], so Allah (mighty and sublime be He) says to him on the Day of Resurrection: 'What prevented you from saying something about such-and-such and such-and-such?' He will say: 'It was] out of fear of people.' Then He says: 'Rather it is I whom you should more properly fear.'" [Sunan Ibn Majah (5/142) No. 4008, with a sound chain of authorities.]

-to fear the creation over Allah
-when you fear people you don’t speak the truth
-the wicked scholars fear to speak the truth
-if they are afraid why don’t they live in a cave

4) THE SHIRK OF OBEDIENCE

-when you obey the creation and not the Creator

5) THE SHIRK OF LEGISLATING

-the man who makes his own laws is legislating
-the ones who obeys these laws are committing shirk of obedience

They (Jews and Christians) took their rabbis and their monks to be their lords besides Allah (by obeying them in things which they made lawful or unlawful according to their own desires without being ordered by Allah), and (they also took as their Lord) Messiah, son of Maryam (Mary), while they (Jews and Christians) were commanded [in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)) to worship none but One Ilah (God - Allah) La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He)[]. Praise and glory be to Him, (far above is He) from having the partners they associate (with Him)." (At-Tawbah 9:31)

Imam Ahmad, At-Tirmidhi and Ibn Jarir At-Tabari recorded a Hadith via several chains of narration, from 'Adi bin Hatim (RA), who became a Christian during the time of Jahiliyya. When the call of the Messenger of Allah reached his area, 'Adi ran away to Ash-Sham, and his sister and several of his people were captured. The Messenger of Allah freed his sister and gave her gifts. So she went to her brother and encouraged him to become Muslim and to go to the Messenger of Allah. 'Adi, who was one of the chiefs of his people (the tribe of Tai') and whose father, Hatim At-Ta’i, was known for his generosity, went to Al-Madinah. When the people announced his arrival, 'Adi went to the Messenger of Allah wearing a silver cross around his neck. The Messenger of Allah recited this Ayah; They took their rabbis and their monks to be their lords besides Allah. 'Adi commented, "I said, ‘They did not worship them.’" The Prophet said, ((Yes they did. They (rabbis and monks) prohibited the allowed for them (Christians and Jews) and allowed the prohibited, and they obeyed them. This is how they worshiped them.)) … They took their rabbis and their monks to be their lords besides Allah… that the Christians and Jews obeyed their monks and rabbis in whatever they allowed or prohibited for them…" (Tafsir Ibn Kathir (Eng Abridged), First Edition: May 2000], Volume 4, pp. 409-410)

-the Jews and the Christians are guilty of this
-they follow their priests and rabbis who make halaal haraam and haraam halaal
-they say they follow the Abrahamic faith
-they make pork halaal
-they make polygamy haraam
-by following them you worship them
-this is the shirk of haakimiyya
-some Muslims governing without sharia are also guilty of this

Shaikh 'Abdul-'Azeez Ibn 'Abdullah Ibn Baaz said: "There is no Eeman for the one who believes the laws of the people and their opinions are superior to the Hukm of Allah and His Messenger or that they are equal to it or that they resemble it or who leaves it or replaces it with fabricated laws and institutions invented by people, even if he believes that the laws of Allah are more encompassing and more just." [Wujoob Tah'keem Shari'ah Allah' (pg. 16-17)]

Ibn Kathir (rh) said: “So Whosoever abandons the wise Shariah which was revealed upon Muhammad ibn Abdullah, the seal of the prophets, and goes to other abrogated Shariah for judgment, he becomes a Kaafir. So how about the one who goes to al-Yaasiq (man-made law) for judgment and gives it precedence (over the Shariah of Muhammad (SAW). Whosoever does this has become a Kaafir by the Ijma of the Muslims.” [Al-Bidayah Wan-Nihayah, (Vol. 13, p119)]

Ibn Taymiyyah (rh) said: “And it is known from the religion (of Islam) by necessity and by the consensus of all Muslims that whoever legalizes to follow other than the religion of Islam or a Shariah other than the Shariah of Muhammad (SAW), he is a Kaafir. And his kufr is similar to that of the one who believes in some part of the book (Quran) and reject some of it.” [Majmua al-Fataawa (28/524)]

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (d. 728H): “Whenever a person makes halal what is haraam by consensus or makes haraam what is halal by consensus or replaces the Sharee’ah that is agreed upon by consensus, then he is a Kaffir by the agreement of the scholars of Fiqh.” – “Al-Fataawa”, Vol. 3/267

While 'Allama al-Shinqiti-May Allah be merciful with him-has said: To commit shirk with Allah in judging is of the same meaning as to commit shirk in His worship, there is no difference between the two in any manner. There is no difference in any sense between he who follows a system (nizam) other than Allah's system or law other than Allah's law (sharia) and he who worships an idol or prostrates to a false god. They are the same and both are polytheists [associating others] with Allah. [Adwa' al-Bayan, (7/162)]

-‘Allamaa al-Shinqiti said this because tawheed haakimiyya
-is the twin half of tawheed ibaadah

Have you seen those (hyprocrites) who claim that they believe in that which has been sent down to you, and that which was sent down before you, and they wish to go for judgement (in their disputes) to the Taghut (false judges, etc.) while they have been ordered to reject them. But Shaitan (Satan) wishes to lead them far astray. (An-Nisa 4:60)

-this shirk is major shirk
-you are a pagan if you deny Shari’ah

6) THE SHIRK OF TAWAAF

Ibn Abbas (RA) reported that the Prophet (SAW) said, “The tawaf round the House is like the salah except that you converse during it (the tawaf). And, he who converses does not do so except with a good word. [Tirmidhi (3/293) No. 960, al-Bazzar (11/127) No. 4853, Ibn Khuzaymah (4/222) No. 2739, Ibn Hibban (9/143) No. 3836, al-Haakim (1/630) No. 1687]

-when you make tawaaf around the graves, you are committing shirk
-tawaaf is salah and you are only allowed to make tawaaf around the ka’ba

7) THE SHIRK OF DUA (SUPPLICATING)

Surely, the religion (i.e. the worship and the obedience) is for Allah only. And those who take Auliya' (protectors and helpers) besides Him (say): "We worship them only that they may bring us near to Allah." Verily, Allah will judge between them concerning that wherein they differ. Truly, Allah guides not him who is a liar, and a disbeliever. (Az-Zumar 39:3)

-to make dua to the inhabitants of the graves
-or like the goofy soofis and Berailvis do to their masters when they are not present

Nu’man ibn Bashir (RA) narrated the Prophet (SAW) said, “The supplication is itself worship.” Then he recited. And your Lord says, “Call upon Me, and I shall answer you. Surely those who are too arrogant to worship Me, they shall enter Hell, disgraced.” (40: 60) [Tirmidhi (5/456) No. 3372, Abu Dawud (2/76) No. 1479, Ibn Majah (5/5) No. 3828, Ahmad (4/271) No. 18410]

Yahya related to me from Malik from Zayd ibn Aslam from Ata ibn Yasar that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "O Allah! Do not make my grave an idol that is worshipped. The anger on those who took the graves of their Prophets as places of prostration was terrible." [Muwatta Malik (1/223) No. 570, Musannaf Abdur Razzaq (1/406) No. 1587, Musnad Ahmad (2/246) No. 7352]

-to call on the dead
-the goofy soofis worship the graves
-it is haraam to go to the janaza of the grave worshippers
-the prophet (saw) said the grave is an idol to be worshipped
-this is the same as worshipping idols of the Hindus etc.
-this takes the person outside the fold of Islam

8) THE SHIRK OF AT TAWWAKAL

-when you put your trust in something or someone other than Allah

9) THE SHIRK OF SLAUGHTER

Eat not (O believers) of that (meat) on which Allah's Name has not been pronounced (at the time of the slaughtering of the animal), for sure it is Fisq (a sin and disobedience of Allah). And certainly, the Shayatin (devils) do inspire their friends (from mankind) to dispute with you, and if you obey them [by making Al¬Maytatah (a dead animal) legal by eating it], then you would indeed be Mushrikun (polytheists) [because they (devils and their friends) made lawful to you to eat that which Allah has made unlawful to eat and you obeyed them by considering it lawful to eat, and by doing so you worshipped them, and to worship others besides Allah is polytheism]. (Al-An'am 6:121)

-when you slaughter in the name of other than Allah
-this is major shirk and takes you outside the fold of Islam
-if slaughtered in the name of other than Allah and you knowingly eat it, you are a kaffir
-it is major shirk to eat animals slaughtered in a haraam way

l-Nawawi (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
As for that which is sacrificed to anyone other than Allaah, what this means is that it is slaughtered in a name other than the name of Allaah, such as one who offers a sacrifice to an idol or to the cross, or to Moosa or ‘Eesa (peace be upon them), or to the Ka’bah and so on. All of that is haraam, and this meat is not halaal, whether the one who slaughtered it is a Muslim or a Christian or a Jew. This was stated by al-Shaafa’i, and our companions agreed on that. If, in addition to that, he intended to venerate the one for whom he sacrificed it other than Allaah, may He be exalted, and to worship him, this is kufr, and if the one who offered this sacrifice was a Muslim before that, he becomes an apostate by offering this sacrifice. End quote

10) THE SHIRK OF PALM READERS, HOROSCOPES, SOOTHSAYERS AND DIVINERS

Abu Huraira reported that the Prophet (SAW), said “Whoever comes to a fortune-teller and believes him has disbelieved in what was revealed to Muhammad (SAW)”. [Musnad Ahmad (Vol. 2, pg. 429) No. 9532 and Mustadrak al-Hakim (Vol. 1, pg. 49) No. 15]

11) THE SHIRK OF OMENS

Abdullah ibn Mas’ood (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, “Tiyarah (belief in evil omens) is shirk..." [Sunan Tirmidhi (4/160) No. 1614, Sunan Abu Dawud (4/17) No. 3910, Musnad Ahmad (1/440) No. 4194, Sunan Ibn Majah (4/560) No. 3538]

-we believe in qadr
-we don't believe in omens

Abdullah ibn ‘Amr narrated the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “Whoever cancels one's intention to do something because of At-Tiyarah (an evil omen), that one has committed shirk.” They said, “What is the kafaarah (expiation) for that?” He said, “To say: اللَّهُمَّ لَا خَيْرَ إِلَّا خَيْرُكَ، وَلَا طَيْرَ إِلَّا طَيْرُكَ، وَلَا إِلَهَ غَيْرُكَ Allaahumma la khayra illaa khayruka wa laa tayra illaa tayruka wa laa ilaaha ghayruka (O Allah, there is no good except Your good, no birds (omens) except from You, and there is no god beside You).” [Musnad Ahmad (2/220) No. 7045 and al-Tabarani in ‘al-Mu’jam al-Kabir' (13/22) No. 38]

12) THE SHIRK OF DESCRIBING ALLAH WITH HUMAN QUALITIES

Indeed, Allah has heard the statement of those (Jews) who say: "Truly, Allah is poor and we are rich!" We shall record what they have said and their killing of the Prophets unjustly, and We shall say: "Taste you the torment of the burning (Fire)." (Aali Imran 3:181)

-saying He beget a son, He rested, He repented
-all these are major shirk

The Jews say: "Allah's Hand is tied up (i.e. He does not give and spend of His Bounty)." Be their hands tied up and be they accursed for what they uttered. Nay, both His Hands are widely outstretched. He spends (of His Bounty) as He wills. Verily, the Revelation that has come to you from Allah increases in most of them their obstinate rebellion and disbelief. We have put enmity and hatred amongst them till the Day of Resurrection. Every time they kindled the fire of war, Allah extinguished it; and they (ever) strive to make mischief on earth. And Allah does not like the Mufsidun (mischief¬makers). (Al-Ma'idah 5:64)

And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. (Genesis 6:6) King James Version

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16) King James Version

He is the Originator of the heavens and the earth. How can He have children when He has no wife? He created all things and He is the All-Knower of everything. (Al-An'am 6:101)

-the Muslim is the only one who doesn't slander Allah

You [true believers in Islamic Monotheism, and real followers of Prophet Muhammad SAW and his Sunnah (legal ways, etc.)] are the best of peoples ever raised up for mankind; you enjoin Al-Ma'ruf (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam has ordained) and forbid Al-Munkar (polytheism, disbelief and all that Islam has forbidden), and you believe in Allah. And had the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) believed, it would have been better for them; among them are some who have faith, but most of them are Al-Fasiqun (disobedient to Allah - and rebellious against Allah's Command). (Aali Imran 3:110)

-this is why the Muslim is the best ummah
-Muslims believe in all the prophets
-Jews reject Jesus (a.s)
-Christians reject Muhammad (saw)

And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. (Genesis 2:2) King James Version
And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. (Genesis 2:3) King James Version

13) TO DESCRIBE A MAN WITH GODLY QUALITIES

-the shites and the goofy soofis do this

SHIA HUJJAH: The Imams have knowledge of the past and future; and nothing is hidden from them. (Al-Kafi Vol.1 p.260)

-they (the shites) accept and reject what hadiths they want

Say (O Muhammad SAW): "I possess no power of benefit or hurt to myself except as Allah wills. If I had the knowledge of the Ghaib (unseen), I should have secured for myself an abundance of wealth, and no evil should have touched me. I am but a warner, and a bringer of glad tidings unto people who believe." (Al-A'raf 7:188)

-so you have to debate them using Quran
-they say nothing is hidden from their imams
-imam Hassan (r.a) is one of their imams
-they say Hassan was poisoned
-checkmate them by asking how Hassan could eat the poison if he knew
-that means he committed suicide
-shites say their imams know when they are going to die
-they choose when they die

SHIA HUJJAH: The Imams know when they will die, and they only die by their choice. (Al Kafi vol.1 p.258 )

Verily, Allah! With Him (Alone) is the knowledge of the Hour, He sends down the rain, and knows that which is in the wombs. No person knows what he will earn tomorrow, and no person knows in what land he will die. Verily, Allah is All¬Knower, All¬Aware (of things). (Luqman 31:34)

-this is the hujjah to refute them
-the Quran shows Hussain did not know he was going to die at Karbala
-Hussain was warned not to go to Iraq
-they advised him if he was going not to take his family
-he didn't listen and all his family was killed

14) PRAYING TO THE STARS FOR RAIN

Abu Malik al-Ashari narrated the Prophet (SAW) said: ”There are four matters of jaahiliyyah that exist among my ummah and they will not give them up: boasting about one’s forefathers, casting aspersions upon people’s lineages, seeking rain by the stars and wailing for the dead.” [Sahih Muslim (Vol. 2 pg. 644) No. 934]

15) TO BELIEVE ALLAH APPEARED IN THE FORM OF A MAN

It is not given to any human being that Allah should speak to him unless (it be) by Inspiration, or from behind a veil, or (that) He sends a Messenger to reveal what He wills by His Leave. Verily, He is Most High, Most Wise[] . (Ash-Shura 42:51)

-the Christians believe that Jesus was God in flesh
-Louis Farrakhan believes that farad Muhammad was God in flesh
-farad Muhammad was arrested and imprisoned for selling drugs
-they say this is Allah (audhubillah)
-how can Allah go to jail for selling drugs
-to believe Allah appeared on earth as a man is shirk
-Jesus said he didn’t know the day of judgement

But of that day and hour knoweth no [man], no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. (Matthew 24:36) King James Version

I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. (John 5:30) King James Version

Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God. (John 20:17) King James Version

And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape. (John 5:37) King James Version

The Most Beneficent (Allah) Istawa (rose over) the (Mighty) Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty). (Ta-Ha 20:5)

-the hypocrites from the Muslims contradict the Quran as the Christians contradict the bible

16) THE SHIRK OF SHOWING OFF

Abu Hurayra said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah (SAW) say, 'The first of people to be judged on the Day of Rising will be a man who was martyred. He will be brought and will be informed of the blessings he had and will acknowledge them. Allah will say, "What did you do with them?" He will say, "I fought for You until I was martyred." Allah will say, "You lie. Rather you fought so it would be said, 'A bold man!' And so it was said." Then the command will be given and he will be dragged on his face until he is thrown into the Fire. There will also be a man who studied knowledge and taught it and recited the Qur'an. He will be brought and informed of his blessings which he will acknowledge. Allah will say, "What did you do with them?" He will say, "I studied knowledge and taught it and I recited the Qur'an for You." He will say, "You lie. Rather you studied so that it would be said, 'A scholar!' and you recited so that it would be said, 'He is a reciter!' And so it was said." Then the command will be given and he will be dragged on his face until he is thrown into the Fire. There will also be a man to whom Allah gave a lot of wealth and all sorts of property. He will be brought and informed of his blessings which he will acknowledge. Allah will say, "What did you do with them?" He will say, "There was no path in which You like spending to be done but that I spent in it for You." He will say, "You lie. Rather you did it so that it would be said, 'He is generous.' and so it was said." Then the command will be given and he will be dragged on his face until he is thrown into the Fire.'" [Sahih Muslim (3/1513) No. 1905]

2. THE DISEASE OF KUFR

-to disbelieve means to deny

And when there came to them (the Jews), a Book (this Qur'an) from Allah confirming what is with them [the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)], although aforetime they had invoked Allah (for coming of Muhammad Peace be upon him ) in order to gain victory over those who disbelieved, then when there came to them that which they had recognised, they disbelieved in it. So let the Curse of Allah be on the disbelievers. (Al-Baqarah 2:89)

A. THE KUFR OF DOUBT

-to doubt your faith

In their hearts is a disease (of doubt and hypocrisy) and Allah has increased their disease. A painful torment is theirs because they used to tell lies. (Al-Baqarah 2:10)

-to doubt Muhammad (saw) is a prophet
-to doubt the Quran is the speech of Allah
-the one with weakness of alcohol and girls is in a better position than the doubters
-you wouldn’t accept zam zam water mixed with urine
-it is contaminated
-same when you doubt you are contaminated

Only those are the believers who have believed in Allah and His Messenger, and afterward doubt not but strive with their wealth and their lives for the Cause of Allah. Those! They are the truthful. (Al-Hujurat 49:15)

B: THE KUFR OF TURNING AWAY FROM LEARNING THE DEEN

-turning away from the Quran and Sunnah
-you can't recite surah Fatihah or you don't pray

C: THE KUFR OF ARROGANCE

-Iblees had this kufr in his heart

And (remember) when We said to the angels: "Prostrate yourselves before Adam.". And they prostrated except Iblis (Satan), he refused and was proud and was one of the disbelievers (disobedient to Allah). (Al-Baqarah 2:34)

D: THE KUFR OF MAKING HARAAM HALAAL

-this is called istihlaal

E: THE KUFR OF PRETENDING TO BE A MUSLIM

-to benefit from the Muslims

F: THE KUFR OF MOCKING THE DEEN

-even if you say it is just a joke you have become a kaffir

If you ask them (about this), they declare: "We were only talking idly and joking." Say: "Was it at Allāh, and His Ayāt (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and His Messenger (SAW) that you were mocking?" (At-Tawbah 9:65)

Make no excuse; you have disbelieved after you had believed. If We pardon some of you, We will punish others amongst you because they were Mujrimûn (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, criminals, etc.). (At-Tawbah 9:66)

G: THE KUFR OF OBEDIENCE (TAA’A)

H: THE KUFR OF LYING (ON ALLAH AND HIS RASOOL)

-to promote your agenda

I: THE KUFR OF REPLACING THE SHARIA (ISTIBDAAL)

J: THE KUFR OF DABBLING IN BLACK MAGIC

3. ENVY

WHAT IS ENVY?

Envy Is a Dangerous Heart Disease
(Friday Speech delivered by Imam Mohamed Baianonie at the Islamic Center of Raleigh, NC on December 19, 1997)
Envy is a nasty disease of the heart that leads to bad conduct and behavior, all of which are sins and evils. Envy leads to animosity, evil thinking about others' intentions, backbiting, spreading rumors, lying, turning back on each other's, parting with bad terms, it may also lead the envious person to inflict physical damage with the envied person and even murder may Allah forbid. It is a bad seed for a terrible tree of diseases. For this reason, the scholars consider it from among the most dangerous, destructive, inner diseases, and the most destructive for deen and worldly life. The Islamic ruling of envy is haram (prohibited); the degree of prohibition differs depending on the sins that result from it. For this reason, the messenger of Allah (S.A.W.) forbade us in the authentic hadeeth that is reported by Imams Bukhari and Muslim, "Do not envy one another and do not hate one another, and do not turn your back on one another (in discontent) and be the servants of Allah like brothers."
Allah (S.W.T.) also ordered his prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) and all the believers to seek refuge from the evil of the envious person and envy, so He says in surat Al-Falaq, what can be translated as, "Say: ‘I seek refuge with (Allah) the Lord of the day-break," and at the end of the surah He then says, "And from the evil of the envier when he envies."

The definition of Envy: Envy means that you hate a blessing that Allah blessed someone with and like for it to go away, and if you could make it go away, you would do that.
And if you do not hate it and do not like for it to go away but you would like for yourself something similar to it, then this is a possessive desire that leads to competition; both of which are good and commendable. Sometimes the word Envy is used to tell of the strong possessive desire as mentioned in an authentic hadeeth, reported by Imams Bukhari and Muslim, "It is not worth it, to envy anyone except in two cases. A man that Allah blessed with money and he spent it righteously, and a man that Allah blessed with knowledge and he implemented it in himself, and has taught it to others." So, competition in the good avenues is commendable. Allah (S.W.T.), after He mentioned to us the paradise and its everlasting blessings, says in surat Al-Mutaffiffeen, (Verse 26), what can be translated as, "And in this, let the competitors compete." Allah (S.W.T.) scolded envy and its bad results in the Qur'an in many places, among which:

1- Many from the people of the book, after they knew Islam was the truth, envied the believers for the blessing of belief and guidance and wished it could go away from them. Allah (S.W.T.) says in surat Al-Baqarah, (Verse 109), what can be translated as, "Many of the people of the Book (Jews and Christians) wish that they could turn you away as disbelievers after you have believed, out of envy from their ownselves, even, after the truth has become manifest unto them."

2- Also, one who reads the story of Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) and his brothers, realizes the danger of envy upon the envious person, and how it blinds his sight and takes away mercy from his heart, and drives him to inflict physical pain on the envied person. Allah (S.W.T.) says in surat Yousuf, (Verse 8 & 9), what can be translated as, "When they said: Truly, Joseph and his brother are loved more by our father than we, but we are usbah (a strong group)." Then, they said, "Kill Joseph or cast him out to some other land, so that the favor of your father may be given to you alone, and after that you will be righteous folk." Then, how they deceived their fathers to take Yousuf and throw him in the well, then how they lied to their father that the wolf ate Yousuf, and to reinforce their deceit, they came with fake blood on Yousuf's shirt.

3- The Qur'an told us about the first son of Adam who killed his brother because of envy, and it was the first bloodletting crime on the face of the earth. He envied him because Allah accepted his brother's sacrifice but did not accept it from him. He (S.W.T.) says in surat Al-Ma’eedah, (Verse 27, 28 & 30), what can be translated as, "And (O Muhammad) recite to them the story of the two sons of Adam in truth; when each offered a sacrifice (to Allah), it was accepted from the one but not from the other. The latter said to the former: "I will surely kill you." The former said: "Verily, Allah accepts only from those who are the pious. If you do stretch your hand against me to kill me, I shall never stretch my hand against you to kill you, for I fear Allah; the Lord of the Alamin." Then Allah said, "So the Nafs (self) of the other (latter one) encouraged him and made fair-seeming to him the murder of his brother; he murdered him and became one of the losers."

The medicine of envy: Imam Al-Ghazali, may Allah have mercy on him, said in his book (Al-Ihya') after a number of pages on envy and its dangers, "Be aware that envy is one of the most dangerous diseases of the hearts, and there is no medicine for the diseases of the heart except with knowledge and deeds. As to the knowledge that treats the disease of envy is to know without any doubt that envy is dangerous for you in this worldly life and in your deen, and there is no danger from it on the envied person in this life nor in his deen, on the contrary, the envied person will benefit from it.

The fact is envy is dangerous for your deen because with envy, you hated Allah's predestination and hated his blessings that He divided among his servants, and you hated His justice that He established in His world for a wisdom, so you contested that and objected it, and this is against the true oneness and belief. In addition to that, you would have shared with Iblees and the rest of the non-believers with their love for the crises to fall upon the believers and for the blessings to go away from them. These are evils in the heart that eat up the good deeds and erase them like the night erase the day.

And the fact that envy is dangerous upon your worldly life is that because you suffer from your envy in this life and you are tortured by it, and you will always be in sorrows every time you see the blessing of Allah (S.W.T.) on the envied person." And as to the deeds that would treat envy, you should control yourself, so everything that you did in the process of your envy for someone else like any saying or action, you should now strive to do the opposite; if envy had driven you to say something bad about your envied person, then strive to make your tongue complement him, and if it had driven you to look down upon him, then act with humility and apologize to him, and if it had driven you to stop doing good things for the envied person, you should push yourself to do good things for him.
Then, Imam Al-Ghazali said: "These are the medicines for envy, and they are very effective, but they are bitter on the hearts, but the effectiveness is in the bitter medicine, so whosoever cannot be patient with the bitterness of medicine cannot get the sweetness of the cure."
Remember the story of Abdullah Bin Amru Bnil Oass and the man that the prophet (S.A.W.) said, "A man will come up to you from the people of paradise." (He repeated this everyday for three days). The same man came every time, and Abdullah slept at this man's house to find out about what he does to deserve paradise.... Later, Abdullah almost belittled this man's deeds because they are not too much, then he asked about what he does, so the man said, "It is not except what you have seen, but I do not have for any Muslim in my heart any deceit, or envy for good that Allah (S.W.T)

It is when you see someone enjoying Allah's barakah and you want it to go away

They followed what the Shayatin (devils) gave out (falsely of the magic) in the lifetime of Sulaiman (Solomon). Sulaiman did not disbelieve, but the Shayatin (devils) disbelieved, teaching men magic and such things that came down at Babylon to the two angels, Harut and Marut, but neither of these two (angels) taught anyone (such things) till they had said, "We are only for trial, so disbelieve not (by learning this magic from us)." And from these (angels) people learn that by which they cause separation between man and his wife, but they could not thus harm anyone except by Allah's Leave. And they learn that which harms them and profits them not. And indeed they knew that the buyers of it (magic) would have no share in the Hereafter. And how bad indeed was that for which they sold their ownselves, if they but knew. (Al-Baqarah 2:102)

-it is so serious Allah asked you to seek refuge in Him from them in surah Falaq
-places where you have many envious people have a lot of black magic
-as they seek means to get that barakah away from you
-it may also lead to the envious person inflicting physical damage to his victim
-like in the story of Yusuf (a.s) and his 11 brothers
-it can even make him to commit murder
-this is why Allah (swt) asked you to seek refuge in HIM

Say: "I seek refuge with (Allah) the Lord of the daybreak, (Al-Falaq 113:1)

"From the evil of what He has created; (Al-Falaq 113:2)

"And from the evil of the darkening (night) as it comes with its darkness; (or the moon as it sets or goes away). (Al-Falaq 113:3)

"And from the evil of the witchcrafts when they blow in the knots, (Al-Falaq 113:4)

"And from the evil of the envier when he envies." (Al-Falaq 113:5)

-Allah mentioned black magic side by side with envy because envy leads to black magic
-The Islamic ruling with regards envy is that it is haram
-and it comes in different degrees

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (RA) who said: The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "Do not envy one another, and do not inflate prices for one another, and do not hate one another, and do not turn away from one another, and do not undercut one another in trade, but [rather] be slaves of Allah and brothers [amongst yourselves]. A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim: he does not oppress him, nor does he fail him, nor does he lie to him, nor does he hold him in contempt. Taqwa (piety) is right here [and he pointed to his chest three times]. It is evil enough for a man to hold his brother Muslim in contempt. The whole of a Muslim is inviolable for another Muslim: his blood, his property, and his honour." [Sahih Muslim (4/1986) No. 2564]

Al-Nawawî defines envy as: “… to desire for someone who enjoys a blessing to become bereft of it, regardless of whether that blessing is of a religious or worldly nature.”

Al-Ghazâlî says: “As far as envy is concerned, Islamic scholars define it as the hatred of a blessing and the love that the one so blessed by it will become bereft of it.”

-envy therefore means you hate the blessing of Allah on a person
-and will do anything in your power to make it go away
-you are not contented with Allah's Mercy, Hikma and His Qadr
-but if you only desire the barakah for yourself but you don't want his to go away
-then you are not envious

An envious person celebrates the downfall of others
-if they envy you for your deen they will expose and celebrate your relapse
-they will always seek to disgrace you

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) as saying: The servant (who conceals) the faults of others in this world, Allah would conceal his faults on the Day of Resurrection. [Sahih Muslim, Book 32, Hadith #6267]

Many of the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) wish that if they could turn you away as disbelievers after you have believed, out of envy from their ownselves, even, after the truth (that Muhammad Peace be upon him is Allah's Messenger) has become manifest unto them. But forgive and overlook, till Allah brings His Command. Verily, Allah is Able to do all things. (Al-Baqarah 2:109)

Ibn Masood (RA) narrated the Prophet (SAW) said: "Do not wish to be like anyone, except in two cases: (1) A man whom Allah has given wealth and he spends it righteously. (2) A man whom Allah has given wisdom (knowledge of the Qur'an and the Hadith) and he acts according to it and teaches it to others." [al-Bukhari (1409) and Muslim (816)]

Ibn 'Umar (RA) reported the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "Envy is justified in regard to two types of persons only: a man whom Allah has given knowledge of the Qur'an, and so he recites it during the night and during the day; and a man whom Allah has given wealth and so he spends from it during the night and during the day." [al-Bukhari (7529) and Muslim (815)]

Sometimes the word envy is used to express strong possessive desire
-competition in good is good
-the word envy is mistaken for jealousy

Abdullah ibn Umar reported that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "Three people will not enter paradise and Allah will not look to them on the Day of Judgment: the one who is disobedient to his parents, the woman who imitates men and the ad-Dayooth (cuckold, weak man who feels no jealousy over his womenfolk)..." [Musnad Ahmad (2/134) No. 6180, Musnad al-Bazzar (12/270) No. 6051, al-Sunnan al-Kubra al-Nasa'i (2/63) No. 2354, al-Mu’jam al-Awsat al-Tabarani (3/51) No. 2443]

-jealousy (ghayrah) is praiseworthy but envy is a disease of the heart

Narrated By Abu Huraira: The Prophet; said, “Indeed, Allah has Ghayrah, and the faithful believer has Ghayrah, and the Ghayrah which Allah has is provoked when a believer commits that which Allah has forbidden.” [al-Bukhari (4925) and Muslim (2761)]

Al-Mughira b. Shu'ba (RA) reported that Sa'd b. 'Ubada (RA) said: If I were to see a man with my wife, I would have struck him with the sword, and not with the flat part (side) of it. When Allah's Messenger (PBUH) heard of that, he said: Are you surprised at Sa'd's jealousy of his honour? By Allah, I am more jealous of my honour than he, and Allah is more jealous than I. Because of His jealousy Allah has prohibited abomination, both open and secret And no person is more jealous of his honour than Allah, and no persons, is more fond of accepting an excuse than Allah, on account of which He has sent messengers, announcers of glad tidings and warners; and no one is more fond of praise than Allah on account of which Allah has promised Paradise. [Sahih Muslim, Book 9, Hadith #3572]

…and for this let (all) those strive who want to strive (i.e. hasten earnestly to the obedience of Allah). (Al-Mutaffifin 83:26)

-Allah told you about competition in surah 83
-you should only compete for Paradise

The kuffaar also envy you for your self-contentment
-you don't look your age and if you are otherwise
-then you are not contented with your deen
-they envy you for your wife's obedience
-also for your family structure and your honour
-they envy you for your Quran

When they said: "Truly, Yusuf (Joseph) and his brother (Benjamin) are loved more by our father than we, but we are 'Usbah (a strong group). Really, our father is in a plain error. (Yusuf 12:8)

"Kill Yusuf (Joseph) or cast him out to some (other) land, so that the favour of your father may be given to you alone, and after that you will be righteous folk (by intending repentance before committing the sin)." (Yusuf 12:9)

One from among them said: "Kill not Yusuf (Joseph), but if you must do something, throw him down to the bottom of a well, he will be picked up by some caravan of travellers." (Yusuf 12:10)

The brothers of Yusuf (a.s) envied him because their father preferred him over them
-Cain killed Abel because of envy for his taqwa

The cure for envy as stated by Imam Ghazaali is that you need knowledge of the deen
-if you have knowledge and believe in qadr properly, this will cure you from envy
-because you know and believe that everything is pre-destined
-the envied person benefits from you as you go on backbiting and slandering him
-because you give him your good deeds

...But Allah chooses for His Mercy whom He wills. And Allah is the Owner of Great Bounty. (Al-Baqarah 2:105)

-when you are envious you seek to tell Allah who to bless and Allah decides who to bless

And they say: "Why is not this Qur'an sent down to some great man of the two towns (Makkah and Ta'if)?" (Az-Zukhruf 43:31)

The shaytan has the disease of envy and so he always seeks to destroy us
-Allah (swt) created Adam with His own Hands, and blew the soul into him
-taught him everything, put him in Jannat and commanded the angels to make sajdah to him
-the shaytan was envious for this

(Allah) said: "What prevented you (O Iblis) that you did not prostrate, when I commanded you?" Iblis said: "I am better than him (Adam), You created me from fire, and him You created from clay." (Al-A'raf 7:12)

(Allah) said: "(O Iblis) get down from this (Paradise), it is not for you to be arrogant here. Get out, for you are of those humiliated and disgraced." (Al-A'raf 7:13)

(Iblis) said: "Allow me respite till the Day they are raised up (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)." (Al-A'raf 7:14)

(Allah) said: "You are of those allowed respite." (Al-A'raf 7:15)

(Iblis) said: "Because You have sent me astray, surely I will sit in wait against them (human beings) on Your Straight Path. (Al-A'raf 7:16)

Then I will come to them from before them and behind them, from their right and from their left, and You will not find most of them as thankful ones (i.e. they will not be dutiful to You)." (Al-A'raf 7:17)

And most of them believe not in Allah except that they attribute partners unto Him [i.e. they are Mushrikun -polytheists - see Verse 6: 121]. (Yusuf 12:106)

-the shaytan promised to lead mankind astray and he was successful in leading many astray

Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated that the Prophet (SAW) said: “Beware of envy! Indeed the envy eats up good deeds like the fire eats up wood” [Sunan Abu Dawud (4/276) No. 4903]

4. RACISM

This is when you prefer one race over another, thinking that the former is superior
-the white race preached this but the black race practice reverse racism

O mankind! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another. Verily, the most honourable of you with Allāh is that (believer) who has At-Taqwa [i.e. one of the Muttaqûn (pious - see V.2:2). Verily, Allāh is All-Knowing, All-Aware. (Al-Hujurat 49:13)

Saeed al-Jurairi narrated Abi Naddra told me of a sermon he heard from the Messenger of Allah (SAW) in middle during the Days of Tashreeq said: “O people, your Lord is One and your father [i.e., Adam] is one. There is no superiority of the Arab over the non-Arab, or of the non-Arab over the Arab, or of the red over the black, or of the black over the red – except with regard to taqwa...” [Musnad Ahmad (5/411) No. 23536]

-but the rasul (saw) said that the best amongst us is the one with most taqwa
-to be an Arab or any other race doesn't mean you are better
-but you need taqwa to be better

Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab (an uncle of the Prophet), and perish he! (Al-Masad 111:1)

Social Darwinism is an ideology of society that seeks to apply biological concepts of Darwinism or of evolutionary theory to sociology and politics, often with the assumption that conflict between groups in society leads to social progress as superior groups outcompete inferior ones.
The name social Darwinism is a modern name given to the various theories of society that emerged in England and the United States in the 1870s, which, it is alleged, sought to apply biological concepts to sociology and politics. The term social Darwinism gained widespread currency when used in 1944 to oppose these earlier concepts. Today, because of the negative connotations of the theory of social Darwinism, especially after the atrocities of the Second World War (including the Holocaust), few people would describe themselves as Social Darwinists and the term is generally seen as pejorative.
Social Darwinism is generally understood to use the concepts of struggle for existence and survival of the fittest to justify social policies which make no distinction between those able to support themselves and those unable to support themselves. Many such views stress competition between individuals in laissez-faire capitalism; but the ideology has also motivated ideas of eugenics, scientific racism, imperialism, fascism, Nazism and struggle between national or racial groups.

-Hitler was inspired by Darwinism
-eugenics is when a woman goes to a sperm bank
-and gives details as to what type of man she wants as her sperm donor

Ibliss was the first racist

(Allah) said: "What prevented you (O Iblis) that you did not prostrate, when I commanded you?" Iblis said: "I am better than him (Adam), You created me from fire, and him You created from clay." (Al-A'raf 7:12)

5. NATIONALISM

This is to believe in the superiority of a nation

And indeed, We created man from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud. (Al-Hijr 15:26)

-this is worse than racism
-Hitler was white as well as France and Poland
-there are different types of nationalism

1. Ethnic nationalism

E.g. what is happening in Burma against the Rohingha Muslims

2. Religious Nationalism

The Hindus called India Hindustan and that is religious nationalism

3. Political nationalism

The Jews don't want the Palestinian to come back home

4. Economic Nationalism

-not wanting foreigners to come to your country
-claiming they are stealing your jobs

5. Nationalism in sport

-when Iran defeated the USA the ayatollah said that they have beaten the great shaytan
-so they could come home

6. Ideological Nationalism

Joe Louis was the greatest boxing champion of all times
-Max Schmeling was Hitler's boy
-he came to win Joe Louis in USA
-he came to prove that Hitler was right and that the white race is better than the black race
-the then US president said to Joe Louis that losing wasn't an option
-this was not just a fight but a fight of nationalism

Hitler ordered the sterilization of all ugly women
-because he believed that the Germans are more beautiful
-and these women will give birth to ugly babies

6. TRIBALISM

To believe in the superiority of your tribe
-you also have religious, political, economic tribalism etc.

O Children of Adam! Let not Shaitan (Satan) deceive you, as he got your parents [Adam and Hawwa (Eve)] out of Paradise, stripping them of their raiments, to show them their private parts. Verily, he and Qabiluhu (his soldiers from the jinns or his tribe) see you from where you cannot see them. Verily, We made the Shayatin (devils) Auliya' (protectors and helpers) for those who believe not. (Al-A'raf 7:27)

-the massacre in Rwanda is an example of tribalism
-Somalia is 100% Muslims but you have the Saat and Abghal killing each other over tribalism

Narrated Jubair ibn Mut’im: The Messenger of Allah (SAW), said: "He is not one us who calls for 'Asabiyah, (nationalism/tribalism) or who fights for 'Asabiyah or who dies for 'Asabiyah." [Sunan Abu Dawud (Vol. 2, pg. 753) No. 5121]

On the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "One who defected from obedience (to the Amir) and separated from the main body of the Muslims - if he died in that state - would die the death of one belonging to the days of Jahiliyya (i. e. would not die as a Muslim). One who fights under the banner of a people who is blind (to the cause for which they are fighting. i. e. do not know whether their cause is just or otherwise), who gets flared up with family pride, calls, (people) to fight for their family honour, and supports his kith and kin (i. e. fights not for the cause of Allah but for the sake of this family or tribe) - if he is killed (in this fight), he dies as one belonging to the days of Jahiliyya. Whoso attacks my Ummah (indiscriminately) killing the righteous and the wicked of them, sparing not (even) those staunch in faith and fulfilling not his promise made with those who have been given a pledge of security - he has nothing to do with me and I have nothing to do with him." [Sahih Muslim (3/1477) No. 1848, Musnad Ahmad (2/306) No. 8047, Sunan al-Nasa'i (7/123) No. 4114, Sunan Ibn Majah (5/95) No. 3948]

-Abu Jahl was approach after Isra wal Mi’raaj but he rejected Islam because of tribalism

Those to whom We gave the Scripture (Jews and Christians) recognise him (Muhammad or the Ka'bah at Makkah) as they recongise their sons. But verily, a party of them conceal the truth while they know it - [i.e. the qualities of Muhammad which are written in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)]. (Al-Baqarah 2:146)

-same applies to the Jews; they rejected Muhammad because he did not come from them

7. PRIDE

It is narrated on the authority of Abdullah b. Mas'ud that the Apostle of Allah (SAW), observed: He who has in his heart the weight of a mustard seed of pride shall not enter Paradise. A person (amongst his hearers) said: Verily a person loves that his dress should be fine, and his shoes should be fine. He (the Holy Prophet) remarked: Verily, Allah is Graceful and He loves Grace. Pride is disdaining the truth (out of self-conceit) and contempt for the people. [Sahih Muslim (1/93) No. 91]

-The Pharaoh, Abu Lahab, Abu Jahl all had pride

8. SELFISHNESS

Narrated by Anas ibn Malik (RA) that the Prophet (SAW) said: “No one of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.” [al-Bukhari (13) and Muslim (45)]

-there is no room in Islam for selfishness

Abu Hurayrah (RA) reported that Allahs Messenger (SAW) said “If anyone relieves a Muslims hardship in this world then Allah will remove from him a hardship of the hereafter. And if anyone conceals a Muslims fault then Allah will conceal (his fault) in the world and the hereafter. And Allah goes on helping the slave as long as the slave helps his brother. [Tirmidhi 1430, Muslim 2699, Abu Dawud 4946, Ahmed 7431]

The believers, men and women, are Auliya' (helpers, supporters, friends, protectors) of one another, they enjoin (on the people) Al-Ma'ruf (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam orders one to do), and forbid (people) from Al-Munkar (i.e. polytheism and disbelief of all kinds, and all that Islam has forbidden); they perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat) and give the Zakat, and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah will have His Mercy on them. Surely Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise. (At-Tawbah 9:71)

It was narrated from Abd-Allaah ibn Masood (RA) that the Prophet (SAW) said: "Whoever starts his day caring about something other than Allaah has nothing to do with Allaah, and whoever does not care about the Muslims is not one of them." [Narrated by al-Haakim in al-Mustadrak (4/356)]

Narrated by An-Nu'man bin Bashir: The Prophet (SAW) said: “The likeness of the believers in their mutual love, mercy and compassion is that of one body; when one part of it suffers, the rest of the body joins it in staying awake and suffering fever.” [al-Bukhaari (6011) and Muslim (2586)]

9. LAZINESS

-there is no room in Islam for laziness

And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad), (An-Najm 53:39)

-it is better to split firewood and sell than to beg

It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (RA) said: The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “For one of you to chop wood and carry it on his back is better for him than asking (begging) from anyone who will either give him something or refuse to give him anything.” [al-Bukhari (1968) and Muslim (1042)

10. GREED

Ibn ‘Abbâs narrated: I heard the Messenger of Allah (SAW) saying, “If a son of Adam had a valley full of gold, he would desire to have two. Nothing can fill his mouth except the dust (of his grave). Allah turns with mercy to him who turns to Him in repentance.” [al-Bukhari (6437) and Muslim (1049)]

11. LUST

To harbor in your heart love for the pleasures of the flesh
-it can be an addiction
-it can be praiseworthy or otherwise
-if you lust after your wife then it is praiseworthy
-but lusting after your girlfriend, mistress or other women that is blameworthy
-it is divided into 11 categories

1. Masturbation

It is not considered the worst because it not haram according to Hanbali fiqh
-for the person who fears falling into zina
-the Maliki say it is haram and their hujjah is 23:5-7

And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts) (Al-Mu'minun 23:5)

Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; (Al-Mu'minun 23:6)

But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors; (Al-Mu'minun 23:7)

2. ZINA (FORNICATION)

-this is sex before marriage and the punishment is 100 lashes
-and the person should be banished from the land for 1 year
-kissing is not zina and should not be flogged 100 but 10 lashes

It was narrated from Abu Bardah al-Ansari that he heard the Messenger of Allah (SAW) say: "No one should be given more than ten lashes except in the case of one of the hadd punishments of Allah.” [al-Bukhari (6850) and Muslim (1708)]

2. ADULTERY

This is extra marital affairs and the punishment is death
-you need 4 witnesses seeing the pen in the ink
-before the punishment is carried out
-if they have contradictions in their evidences then the case is dismissed
-and they are flogged 80 lashes for slander and their testimony will never
-be accepted again in the court

3. HOMOSEXUALITY

Ibn ‘Abbas (RA) said: The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “Whoever you find doing the action of the people of Loot, execute the one who does it and the one to whom it is done.” [Sunan Tirmidhi (4/57) No. 1456, Sunan Abu Dawud (4/158) No. 4462, Sunan Ibn Majah (3/594) No. 2561, Musnad Ahmad (1/300) No. 2732]

-this is haram and the punishment is death

What is the punishment for homosexuality? Is there any differentiation between the one who does it and the one to whom it is done?
Praise be to Allah.
Firstly:
The crime of homosexuality is one of the greatest of crimes, the worst of sins and the most abhorrent of deeds, and Allah punished those who did it in a way that He did not punish other nations. It is indicative of violation of the fitrah, total misguidance, weak intellect and lack of religious commitment, and it is a sign of doom and deprivation of the mercy of Allaah. We ask Allaah to keep us safe and sound.
Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And (remember) Loot (Lot), when he said to his people: ‘Do you commit the worst sin such as none preceding you has committed in the ‘Aalameen (mankind and jinn)?
81. ‘Verily, you practice your lusts on men instead of women. Nay, but you are a people transgressing beyond bounds (by committing great sins).’
82. And the answer of his people was only that they said: ‘Drive them out of your town, these are indeed men who want to be pure (from sins)!’
83. Then We saved him and his family, except his wife; she was of those who remained behind (in the torment).
84. And We rained down on them a rain (of stones). Then see what was the end of the Mujrimoon (criminals, polytheists and sinners)”
[al-A’raaf 7:80-84]
“Verily, by your life (O Muhammad), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly.
73. So As‑Saihah (torment — awful cry) overtook them at the time of sunrise.
74. And We turned (the towns of Sodom in Palestine) upside down and rained down on them stones of baked clay.
75. Surely, in this are signs for those who see (or understand or learn the lessons from the Signs of Allaah).
76. And verily, they (the cities) were right on the highroad (from Makkah to Syria, i.e. the place where the Dead Sea is now)”
[al-Hijr 15:72-76] al-Tirmidhi (1456), Abu Dawood (4462)and Ibn Maajah (2561) narrated that Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever you find doing the action of the people of Loot, execute the one who does it and the one to whom it is done.”. Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi.

Ahmad (2915) narrated from Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “May Allaah curse the one who does the action of the people of Loot, may Allaah curse the one who does the action of the people of Loot,” three times. This was classed as hasan by Shu’ayb al-Arna’oot in Tahqeeq al-Musnad.

The Sahaabah were unanimously agreed on the execution of homosexuals, but they differed as to how they were to be executed. Some of them were of the view that they should be burned with fire, which was the view of ‘Ali (may Allaah be pleased with him) and also of Abu Bakr (may Allaah be pleased with him), as we shall see below. And some of them thought that they should be thrown down from a high place then have stones thrown at them. This was the view of Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him).
Some of them thought that they should be stoned to death, which was narrated from both ‘Ali and Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with them).

After the Sahaabah, the fuqaha’ differed concerning the matter. Some of them said that the homosexual should be executed no matter what his situation, whether he is married or not.
Some of them said that he should be punished in the same way as an adulterer, so he should be stoned if he is married and flogged if he is not married.
Some of them said that a severe punishment should be carried out on him, as the judge sees fit.

Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allaah be pleased with him) discussed this issue at length, and he mentioned the evidence and arguments of the fuqaha’, but he supported the first view. This is explained in his book al-Jawaab al-Kaafi’ li man sa’ala ‘an al-Dawa’ al-Shaafi, which he wrote to deal with this immoral action. We will quote some of what he said:
Because the evil consequences of homosexuality are among the worst of evil consequences, so its punishment is one of the most severe of punishments in this world and in the Hereafter.
The scholars differed as to whether it is to be punished more severely than zina, or whether the punishment for zina should be more severe, or whether the punishments should be the same. There are three points of view:
Abu Bakr al-Siddeeq, ‘Ali ibn Abi Taalib, Khaalid ibn al-Waleed, ‘Abd-Allaah ibn al-Zubayr, ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Abbaas, Maalik, Ishaaq ibn Raahawayh, Imam Ahmad according to the more sound of the two reports from him and al-Shaafa’i according to one of his opinions, were of the view that the punishment for homosexuality should be more severe than the punishment for zina, and the punishment is execution in all cases, whether the person is married or not.
Al-Shaafa’i, according to the well-known view of his madhhab, and Imam Ahmad according to the other report narrated from him, were of the view that the punishment for the homosexual should be the same as the punishment for the adulterer.
Imam Abu Haneefah was of the view that the punishment for the homosexual should be less severe than the punishment for the adulterer, and it is a punishment to be determined by the judge (ta’zeer).
Those who favoured the first view, who are the majority of the ummah – and more than one scholar narrated that there was consensus among the Sahaabah on this point – said that there is no sin that brings worse consequences than homosexuality, and they are second only to the evil consequences of kufr, and they may be worse than the consequences of murder, as we shall see below in sha Allaah.
They said: Allaah did not test anyone with this major sin before the people of Loot, and He punished them with a punishment that He did not send upon any other nation; He combined all kinds of punishment for them, such as destruction, turning their houses upside down, causing them to be swallowed up by the earth, sending stones down upon them from the sky, taking away their sight, punishing them and making their punishment ongoing, and wreaking vengeance upon them such as was not wrought upon any other nation. That was because of the greatness of the evil consequences of this crime which the earth can hardly bear if it is committed upon it, and the angels flee to the farthest reaches of heaven and earth if they witness it, lest the punishment be sent upon those who do it and they be stricken along with them. The earth cries out to its Lord, may He be blessed and exalted, and the mountains almost shift from their places.
Killing the one to whom it is done is better for him than committing this act with him, because if a man commits sodomy with another man, in effect he kills him in such a way that there is no hope of life after that, unlike murder where the victim is wronged and is a martyr. They said: the evidence for that (i.e., that the evil consequences of homosexuality are worse than those of murder) is the fact that in the case of murder, Allaah gives the next of kin the choice: if he wishes he may have him executed and if he wishes he may let him off, but He enjoined executing the homosexual as a hadd punishment, as the companions of the Messenger of Allaah were unanimously agreed, and as is clearly indicated by the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and there is no evidence to the contrary; rather this is what his companions and the Rightly-Guided Caliphs (may Allaah be pleased with them all) did.
It is narrated from Khaalid ibn al-Waleed that he found a man among one of the Arab tribes with whom men would have intercourse as with a woman. He wrote to Abu Bakr al-Siddeeq (may Allaah be pleased with him) and Abu Bakr al-Siddeeq consulted the Sahaabah (may Allaah be pleased with them). ‘Ali ibn Abi Taalib had the strongest opinion of all of them, and he said: “No one did that but one of the nations, and you know what Allaah did to them. I think that he should be burned with fire.” So Abu Bakr wrote to Khaalid and he had him burned.
‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Abbaas said: The highest point in the town should be found and the homosexual should be thrown head first from it, then stones should be thrown at him.
Ibn ‘Abbaas derived this hadd punishment from the punishment that Allaah sent upon the homosexuals of the people of Loot.
Ibn ‘Abbaas is the one who narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) the words: “Whoever you find doing the action of the people of Loot, execute the one who does it and the one to whom it is done.” This was narrated by the authors of al-Sunan and was classed as saheeh by Ibn Hibbaan and others. Imam Ahmad quoted this hadeeth as evidence, and its isnaad meets the conditions of al-Bukhaari.
They said: and it is narrated that he said: “May Allaah curse the one who does the action of the people of Loot, may Allaah curse the one who does the action of the people of Loot, may Allaah curse the one who does the action of the people of Loot,” and it is not narrated that he cursed the adulterer three times in one hadeeth. He cursed those who do a variety of major sins, but he did not curse any of them more than once, but he repeated the curse for the homosexual three times. The companions of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) agreed unanimously that the homosexual is to be executed, and none of them differed concerning that. Rather they differed as to the method of execution. Some people thought that this difference means that they disagreed about executing him, so they narrated it as a matter concerning which the Sahaabah differed, but it is a matter concerning which there was consensus among them, not a matter of difference.
And they said: Whoever ponders the words of Allaah (interpretation of the meaning):
“And come not near to unlawful sex. Verily, it is a Faahishah (i.e. anything that transgresses its limits: a great sin), and an evil way (that leads one to hell unless Allaah Forgives him)”
[al-Isra’ 17:32]
and what He says about homosexuality (interpretation of the meaning):
“And (remember) Loot (Lot), when he said to his people: Do you commit the worst sin such as none preceding you has committed in the ‘Aalameen (mankind and jinn)?”
[al-A’raaf 7:80]
will see the difference between them. When Allaah mentioned zina, He described it as a “great sin” (faahishah – indefinite) among other great sins, but when He mentioned homosexuality, He called it “the worst sin” (al-faahishah – definite). This suggests that it contains all the essence of evil and sin.
End quote from al-Jawaab al-Kaafi (p. 260-263).
Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: With regard to homosexuality, some of the scholars said that the hadd punishment for it is the same as the hadd punishment for zina, and it was said that it is less than that. But the correct view on which the Sahaabah were unanimously agreed is that both are to be killed, the active and the passive partners, whether they are married or not. The authors of al-Sunan narrated from Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever you find doing the action of the people of Loot, execute the one who does it and the one to whom it is done.” And Abu Dawood narrated from Ibn ‘Abbaas
concerning the unmarried person who commits a homosexual act that he said: He is to be stoned. And something similar was narrated from ‘Ali ibn Abi Taalib (may Allaah be pleased with him). The Sahaabah did not differ concerning the ruling that the homosexual is to be executed, but they differed concerning the methods. It was narrated from Abu Bakr al-Siddeeq (may Allaah be pleased with him) that he is to be burned, and from others that he is to be executed.
It was narrated from some of them that a wall is to be knocked down on top of him until he dies beneath it.
And it is said that both should be detained in the foulest of places until they die.
It was narrated from some of them that he should be taken up to the highest place in the town and thrown down from it, to be followed with stones, as Allaah did to the people of Loot. This was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbaas. According to the other report, he is to be stoned. This was the view of the majority of the salaf. They said: because Allaah stoned the people of Loot, and stoning is prescribed for the zaani by analogy with the stoning of the homosexual. Both are to be stoned, whether they are free or slaves, or one of them is the slave of the other, if they have reached the age of puberty. If one of them has not reached the age of puberty, he is to be punished but not stoned, and none is to be stoned except one who has reached puberty. End quote from al-Siyaasah al-Shar’iyyah, p. 138.
The one to whom it is done is like the one who does it, because they both took part in the sin. So both are to be punished by execution, as it says in the hadeeth. But two exceptions may be made to that:
1 – One who is forced into sodomy by means of beating, death threats and the like. He is not subject to any hadd punishment.
It says in Sharh Muntaha al-Iraadaat (3/348): There is no hadd punishment if the one who has been sodomized is forced into it, such as if the one who did it overpowered him or threatened him with death or beating and the like. End quote.
2 – If the one to whom it was done is a minor and has not reached the age of puberty. There is no hadd punishment in this case, but he should be disciplined and punished in a way that will deter him from committing this crime, as stated above in the quotation from Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah.
Ibn Qudaamah (may Allaah have mercy on him) narrated in al-Mughni (9/62) that there is no difference of opinion among the scholars concerning the fact that the hadd punishment should not be carried out on one who is insane or a boy who has not yet reached the age of puberty.
And Allaah knows best.

Ibn Hazm clearly states:
The act of the people of Lut is from the grievous sins, the most forbidden depravities like eating pork, carrion, or blood, drinking, adultery, and the rest of these disobediences. Anyone who allows it or allows anything from what we have mentioned is a kafir. But the people disagreed regarding the penalty. (Ibn Hazm, al-Muhalla, 13/388)

Abu Ya'la al-Farra' brings a very valuable note:
Sodomy is worse than adultery; for indeed female private can be lawful under marriage contract. (al-Farra', al-Masa'il al-Fiqhiyyah, 2/320)

But certainly male private can never be lawful under any condition!
Due to this concensus of Muslim scholars based upon the Qur'an, the Prophetic Sunnah and agreement of Prophet's companions and all subsequent generations, prohibition of homosexuality is regarded one of the necessarily known facts of Islam and whosoever denies this prohibition is considered Kafir.

-the opinion that says that his punishment is like that of zina
-i.e. to say flog the single man and kill the married man is wrong
-and against the ijmaa of the sahabah
-but these punishments should be carried out in the Islamic state

4. LESBIANISM

Ibn Qudamah said: "If two women engage in lesbian sexual relations, then they are guilty of zina and are cursed, because it was narrated that the Prophet (SAW) said: “If a woman has sexual relations with another woman, then they are both guilty of zina.” There is no hadd punishment for them because they did not have intercourse, rather it is likened to intimate relations that are less than intercourse, and they are to be subjected to a ta’zeer punishment." [al-Mughni (9/61)]

They are not killed because their sex is fake
-lesbians are given less than 100 lashes

Allah cursed him. And he [Shaitan (Satan)] said: "I will take an appointed portion of your slaves; (An-Nisa 4:118)

Verily, I will mislead them, and surely, I will arouse in them false desires; and certainly, I will order them to slit the ears of cattle, and indeed I will order them to change the nature created by Allah." And whoever takes Shaitan (Satan) as a Wali (protector or helper) instead of Allah, has surely suffered a manifest loss. (An-Nisa 4:119)

5. INCEST

To go to bed with a woman who is so close to you that you can't marry her

Ibn Abbas reported that the Holy Prophet (saw) said, “Any man who commits the crime of incest must be put to death and any man who cohabits with an animal both him and the animal must be put to death”. (Sunnan Ibn Majah No.2564 also Naylul Awthaar Vol. 7 pg.118)

-they are both killed if they reached puberty

Narrated By Al-Bara' ibn Azib: I met my uncle who was carrying a standard. I asked him: 'Where are you going?' He said: 'The Apostle of Allah (SAW) has sent me to a man who has married his father's wife. He has ordered me to cut off his head and take his property.' [Sunan Abu Dawud (4/157) No. 4457, Sunan al-Nasa'i (6/109) No. 3332, Sunan al-Darime (2/205) No. 2239, Musnad Ahmad (4/290) No. 18580]

6. RAPE

To pin down a woman against her will and have sex with her
-it is a crime in every modern society

The Arabic word ightisaab refers to taking something wrongfully by force. It is now used exclusively to refer to transgression against the honour of women by force (rape).
This is an abhorrent crime that is forbidden in all religions and in the minds of all wise people and those who are possessed of sound human nature. All earthly systems and laws regard this action as abhorrent and impose the strictest penalties on it, except a few states which waive the punishment if the rapist marries his victim! This is indicative of a distorted mind let alone a lack of religious commitment on the part of those who challenge Allaah in making laws. We do not know of any love or compassion that could exist between the aggressor and his victim, especially since the pain of rape cannot be erased with the passage of time – as it is said. Hence many victims of rape have attempted to commit suicide and many of them have succeeded, The failure of these marriages is proven and they are accompanied by nothing but humiliation and suffering for the woman.
Islam has a clear stance which states that this repugnant action is haraam and imposes a deterrent punishment on the one who commits it.
Islam closes the door to the criminal who wants to commit this crime. Western studies have shown that most rapists are already criminals who commit their crimes under the influence of alcohol and drugs, and they take advantage of the fact that their victims are walking alone in isolated places, or staying in the house alone. These studies also show that what the criminals watch on the media and the semi-naked styles of dress in which women go out, also lead to the commission of this reprehensible crime.
The laws of Islam came to protect women's honour and modesty. Islam forbids women to wear clothes that are not modest and to travel without a mahram; it forbids a woman to shake hands with a non-mahram man. Islam encourages young men and women to marry early, and many other rulings which close the door to rape. Hence it comes as no surprise when we hear or read that most of these crimes occur in permissive societies which are looked up to by some Muslims as examples of civilization and refinement! In America – for example – International Amnesty stated in a 2004 report entitled “Stop Violence Against Women” that every 90 seconds a woman was raped during that year. What kind of life are these people living? What refinement and civilization do they want the Muslim women to take part in?
The punishment for rape in Islam is same as the punishment for zina, which is stoning if the perpetrator is married, and one hundred lashes and banishment for one year if he is not married.
Some scholars also say that he is required to pay a mahr to the woman.
Imam Maalik (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
In our view the man who rapes a woman, whether she is a virgin or not, if she is a free woman he must pay a “dowry” like that of her peers, and if she is a slave he must pay whatever has been detracted from her value. The punishment is to be carried out on the rapist and there is no punishment for the woman who has been raped, whatever the case. End quote.
Al-Muwatta’, 2/734

Shaykh Salmaan al-Baaji (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
In the case of a woman who is forced (raped): if she is a free woman, the one who forced her must pay her a “dowry” like that of her peers, and the hadd punishment is to be carried out on him. This is the view of al-Shaafa’i, and it is the view of al-Layth, and it was also narrated from ‘Ali ibn Abi Taalib (may Allaah be pleased with him).
Abu Haneefah and al-Thawri said: the hadd punishment is to be carried out on him but he is not obliged to pay the “dowry”.
The evidence for what we say is that the hadd punishment and the “dowry” are two rights, one of which is the right of Allaah and the other is the right of the other person. So they may be combined, as in the case of a thief whose hand is cut off and he is required to return the stolen goods. End quote.
Al-Muntaha Sharh al-Muwatta’, 5/268, 269
Ibn ‘Abd al-Barr (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
The scholars are unanimously agreed that the rapist is to be subjected to the hadd punishment if there is clear evidence against him that he deserves the hadd punishment, or if he admits to that. Otherwise, he is to be punished (i.e., if there is no proof that the hadd punishment for zina may be carried out against him because he does not confess, and there are not four witnesses, then the judge may punish him and stipulate a punishment that will deter him and others like him). There is no punishment for the woman if it is true that he forced her and overpowered her, which may be proven by her screaming and shouting for help. End quote.
Al-Istidhkaar, 7/146

Secondly:
The rapist is subject to the hadd punishment for zina, even if the rape was not carried out at knife-point or gun-point. If the use of a weapon was threatened, then he is a muhaarib, and is to be subjected to the hadd punishment described in the verse in which Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“The recompense of those who wage war against Allaah and His Messenger and do mischief in the land is only that they shall be killed or crucified or their hands and their feet be cut off from opposite sides, or be exiled from the land. That is their disgrace in this world, and a great torment is theirs in the Hereafter”
[al-Maaidah 5:33]
So the judge has the choice of the four punishments mentioned in this verse, and may choose whichever he thinks is most suitable to attain the objective, which is to spread peace and security in society, and ward off evildoers and aggressors.

-in countries like Morocco the rapist is not punished if he marries the girl

The recompense of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and do mischief in the land is only that they shall be killed or crucified or their hands and their feet be cut off on the opposite sides, or be exiled from the land. That is their disgrace in this world, and a great torment is theirs in the Hereafter. (Al-Ma'idah 5:33)

عن ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: ادرءوا الحدود بالشبهات
Ibn Abbas (RA) narrated the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "Abandon the Hudood when there is doubt." [Musnad Abu Hanifa (Kitab al-Hudood) No. 4]

-you can't rape your wife because she is halal for you
-you only rape women who are haram for you

Narrated Anas: Some people from 'Uraina tribe came to Medina and its climate did not suit them, so Allah's Apostle (SAW) allowed them to go to the herd of camels (given as Zakat) and they drank their milk and urine (as medicine) but they killed the shepherd and drove away all the camels. So Allah's Apostle sent (men) in their pursuit to catch them, and they were brought, and he had their hands and feet cut, and their eyes were branded with heated pieces of iron and they were left in the Harra (a stony place at Medina), till they died. [al-Bukhari (6802) and Muslim (1671)]

It is haram for a virgin to masturbate because her virginity is sacred

7. BESTIALITY

-according to the hadith of the prophet (saw) bestiality is a major sin
-and you are supposed to kill the man and the animal
-and nobody is allowed to eat the animal

Narrated By Abdullah ibn Abbas: The Prophet (SAW) said: "If anyone has sexual intercourse with an animal, kill him and kill it along with him." I (Ikrimah) said: I asked him (Ibn Abbas): 'What offence can be attributed to the animal?' He replied: 'I think he (the Prophet) disapproved of its flesh being eaten when such a thing had been done to it.' [Sunan Abu Dawud (4/159) No. 4464, Sunan Tirmidhi (4/56) No. 1455, Musnad Ahmad (1/269) No. 2420]

8. PEDOPHILIA

-this is attraction to girls who have not menstruated yet
-so if a man sleeps with a woman who has already menstruated this is not pedophilia

If a person molests his sister he is killed
-if he molests his daughter or aunt he is also killed
-same as his grand daughter

The Qaadi in the court house decides which pedophile dies
-the pedophile is killed if the child dies as a result
-but if he did not commit any of the acts that warrants his killing,
-then he pays compensation
-this is the Maliki fatwa and is the most accurate

9. NECROPHILIA

-this is having a fetish for dead people
-there is no prescribed punishment for this
-so it is left to the discretion of the Qaadi

10. GERONTOPHILIA

-this is having a fetish for old people

11. PARAPHILIA

-this is having a fetish for non- human objects
-and this he uses to satisfy his sexual needs
-you need 4 witnesses that he committed paraphilia
-and you have to give him Ta'zeer

12. ABASIOPHILIA

-this is to be attracted to disable people
-and these people are opportunist
-they know these people can’t testify against them

Verily, I will mislead them, and surely, I will arouse in them false desires; and certainly, I will order them to slit the ears of cattle, and indeed I will order them to change the nature created by Allāh." And whoever takes Shaitān (Satan) as a Walī (protector or helper) instead of Allāh, has surely suffered a manifest loss. (An-Nisa 4:119)

12. HATRED

-this is for you to hate a person without a valid reason

-the lineage of your Muslim brother is sacred
-do not seduce and impregnate his wife

13. DOUBT

-he doubts the Quran
-the one who cheats on his wife is better than the one
-who doesn’t cheat on his wife but doubts the Quran
-he doubts Islam is the truth
-one of the 7 conditions of shahada is certainty
-if you wake up one day and doubt Muhammad (saw) is a prophet you are a kaffir

Only those are the believers who have believed in Allāh and His Messenger, and afterward doubt not but strive with their wealth and their lives for the Cause of Allāh. Those! They are the truthful. (Al-Hujurat 49:15)

14. GUROOR (CONCEITEDNESS)

"And turn not your face away from men with pride, nor walk in insolence through the earth. Verily, Allāh likes not each arrogant boaster. (Luqman 31:18)

-the person with guroor will never admit he is wrong

15. HYPOCRISY

Hypocrisy is a serious sickness and a great crime. It means making an outward display of Islam whilst inwardly concealing kufr. Hypocrisy is more dangerous than kufr (disbelief) and the punishment for it is more severe, because it is kufr mixed with Islam and its harmful effects are greater. Hence Allaah will put the hypocrites in the lowest level of Hell, as He says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Verily, the hypocrites will be in the lowest depth (grade) of the Fire; no helper will you find for them[al-Nisaa’ 4:145]
The hypocrites are always confused, always planning deceit and plots. Although outwardly they appear to be with the believers, inwardly they are with the kaafireen. So sometimes they are inclined towards the believers and sometimes they are inclined towards the kaafireen.
“(They are) swaying between this and that, belonging neither to these nor to those; and he whom Allaah sends astray, you will not find for him a way (to the truth — Islam)”[al-Nisaa’ 4:143 – interpretation of the meaning]
Because of the corruption of their hearts, the hypocrites are the most averse of mankind to the religion of Allaah, as Allaah tells us about them (interpretation of the meaning):
“And when it is said to them: ‘Come to what Allaah has sent down and to the Messenger (Muhammad),’ you (Muhammad) see the hypocrites turn away from you (Muhammad) with aversion”
[al-Nisaa’ 4:61]
The dealings of the hypocrites revolve around their own interests. When they meet the believers, they make a show of belief and loyalty, in order to deceive the believers and as an action of dissimulation, hoping for whatever good and war-booty they have. But when they meet their masters and chiefs, they say, we are with you in your shirk and kufr. Allaah says concerning them (interpretation of the meaning):
“And when they meet those who believe, they say: “We believe,” but when they are alone with their Shayaateen (devils — polytheists, hypocrites), they say: “Truly, we are with you; verily, we were but mocking
Allaah mocks at them and gives them increase in their wrong-doing to wander blindly”[al-Baqarah 2:14-15]
The hypocrites have many characteristics, the worst and most serious of which is disbelief in Allaah. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And when it is said to them (hypocrites): ‘Believe as the people (followers of Muhammad, Al-Ansaar and Al-Muhaajiroon) have believed,’ they say: ‘Shall we believe as the fools have believed?’ Verily, they are the fools, but they know not”[al-Baqarah 2:13]
Among their characteristics are enmity and envy (hasad) towards the believers, as Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“If good befalls you (O Muhammad), it grieves them, but if a calamity overtakes you, they say: ‘We took our precaution beforehand’ and they turn away rejoicing”[al-Tawbah 9:50]
Among their characteristics is mockery of Allaah, His Messenger and His religion. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“If you ask them (about this), they declare: ‘We were only talking idly and joking.’ Say: ‘Was it at Allaah, and His Ayaat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and His Messenger that you were mocking?’
Make no excuse; you disbelieved after you had believed”[al-Tawbah 9:65-66]
Among their characteristics is that they spread corruption on earth, with disbelief, hypocrisy and sins. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And when it is said to them: ‘Make not mischief on the earth,’ they say: ‘We are only peacemakers.’
Verily, they are the ones who make mischief, but they perceive not”[al-Baqarah 2:11-12]
Among their characteristics are slander and lies. Allaah tells us about them (interpretation of the meaning):
“They swear by Allaah that they are truly, of you while they are not of you, but they are a people (hypocrites) who are afraid (that you may kill them)”[al-Tawbah 9:56]
Among their characteristics is that they enjoin what is evil and forbid what is good, and they are stingy with their wealth. Allaah says concerning them (interpretation of the meaning):
“The hypocrites, men and women, are one from another; they enjoin (on the people) Al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief and polytheism of all kinds and all that Islam has forbidden), and forbid (people) from Al-Ma‘roof (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam orders one to do), and they close their hands [from giving (spending in Allaah’s Cause) alms]. They have forgotten Allaah, so He has forgotten them. Verily, the hypocrites are the Faasiqoon (rebellious, disobedient to Allaah)”[al-Tawbah 9:67]
Among their characteristics are greed and avarice:
“And of them are some who accuse you (O Muhammad) in the matter of (the distribution of) the alms. If they are given part thereof, they are pleased, but if they are not given thereof, behold! They are enraged![al-Tawbah 9: 58 – interpretation of the meaning]
Among their characteristics are those which were described by the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him):
“There are four (characteristics), whoever has all of them is a complete hypocrite, and whoever has some of them has some element of hypocrisy, unless he gives it up: when he speaks, he lies; when he makes a treaty, he betrays it; when he makes a promise, he breaks it; when he quarrels, he resorts to insults.”(Narrated by Muslim, 53)
Among their characteristics is a concern with appearances and fancy speech whilst they are inwardly corrupt. Allaah says concerning them (interpretation of the meaning):
“And when you look at them, their bodies please you; and when they speak, you listen to their words. They are as blocks of wood propped up. They think that every cry is against them. They are the enemies, so beware of them. May Allaah curse them! How are they denying (or deviating from) the Right Path?”[al-Munaafiqoon 63:4]
If the kuffaar are obvious enemies from without, then the hypocrites are hidden enemies from within. They are more harmful and more dangerous to the Muslims, because they mix with them and know their situation. Allaah has decreed that the ultimate destiny of the kuffaar and hypocrites will be in Hell:
“Surely, Allaah will collect the hypocrites and disbelievers all together in Hell”[al-Nisaa’ 4:140 – interpretation of the meaning]
But because of the seriousness of the harm they cause, the hypocrites will be in the lowest level of Hell, as Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Verily, the hypocrites will be in the lowest depth (grade) of the Fire”[al-Nisaa’ 4:145]
Because the danger posed to the Muslim ummah by the kuffaar and hypocrites is so great, Allaah commanded His Messenger to strive against them:
“O Prophet (Muhammad)! Strive hard against the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be severe against them; their abode will be Hell, and worst indeed is that destination”
[al-Tahreem 66:9 – interpretation of the meaning]
From Usool al-Deen al-Islami by Shaykh Muhammad ibn Ibraaheem al-Tuwayjri

Verily, the hyprocrites will be in the lowest depths (grade) of the Fire; no helper will you find for them. (An-Nisa 4:145)

(They are) swaying between this and that, belonging neither to these nor to those, and he whom Allāh sends astray, you will not find for him a way (to the truth - Islām). (An-Nisa 4:143)

-a person is a hypocrite for 3 reasons
1) For benefit
2) Spying on Muslims
3) To marry a Muslim woman

-you can tell they are hypocrites because they don’t come to the masjid after shahada

It is not for the Mushrikûn (polytheists, idolaters, pagans, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allāh), to maintain the Mosques of Allāh (i.e. to pray and worship Allāh therein, to look after their cleanliness and their building, etc.), while they witness against their ownselves of disbelief. The works of such are in vain and in Fire shall they abide. (At-Tawbah 9:17)

And when they meet those who believe, they say: "We believe," but when they are alone with their Shayātin (devils - polytheists, hypocrites, etc.), they say: "Truly, we are with you; verily, we were but mocking." (Al-Baqarah 2:14)

Allāh mocks at them and gives them increase in their wrong-doings to wander blindly. (Al-Baqarah 2:15)

-some get so impressed with the kaffir education that they look down on Islam

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (RA), that the Prophet (SAW) said: Whoever removes a worldly grief from a believer, Allah will remove from him one of the griefs of the Day of Resurrection. And whoever alleviates the need of a needy person, Allah will alleviate his needs in this world and the Hereafter. Whoever shields [or hides the misdeeds of] a Muslim, Allah will shield him in this world and the Hereafter. And Allah will aid His slave so long as he aids his brother. And whoever follows a path to seek knowledge therein, Allah will make easy for him a path to Paradise. No people gather together in one of the Houses of Allah, reciting the Book of Allah and studying it among themselves, except that sakeenah (tranquility) descends upon them, and mercy envelops them, and the angels surround them, and Allah mentions them amongst those who are with Him. And whoever is slowed down by his actions, will not be hastened forward by his lineage. [Sahih Muslim (4/2074) No. 2699, Sunan Tirmidhi (5/195) No. 2945, Sunan Ibn Majah (1/152) No. 225, Musnad Ahmad (2/252) No. 7421]

-a saudi salafi said the prophet’s signing of the treaty was the same as signing with the UN -he accused the prophet of major kufr
-they say dismantling the sharia is a minor kufr
-they believe that Allah over reacted when he turned the Jews into apes and swine
-they mock Allah and His messenger
-they mock Islam

He is the Originator of the heavens and the earth. How can He have children when He has no wife? He created all things and He is the All-Knower of everything. (Al-An'am 6:101)

If you ask them (about this), they declare: "We were only talking idly and joking." Say: "Was it at Allah, and His Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and His Messenger (SAW) that you were mocking?" (At-Tawbah 9:65)

Make no excuse; you have disbelieved after you had believed. If We pardon some of you, We will punish others amongst you because they were Mujrimun (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, criminals, etc.). (At-Tawbah 9:66)

Verily, those who disbelieve (in the religion of Islam, the Qur'an and Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) from among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) and Al-Mushrikun will abide in the Fire of Hell. They are the worst of creatures. (Al-Baiyinah 98:6)

And never (O Muhammad SAW) pray (funeral prayer) for any of them (hypocrites) who dies, nor stand at his grave. Certainly they disbelieved in Allāh and His Messenger, and died while they were Fāsiqûn (rebellious, - disobedient to Allāh and His Messenger SAW). (At-Tawbah 9:84)

Ibn al-Qayyim (rh) said: The more faith and knowledge a person has, the more he will fear that he may be among this class of people (i.e., hypocrites), hence the leaders and earliest generations of this ummah were so afraid that they might be among them. ‘Umar used to say to Hudhayfah: I adjure you by Allaah, did the Messenger of Allaah (SAW) mention me along with the people (i.e., the hypocrites)? He said: No, but I would not praise anyone after you, meaning; I would not praise people (by saying that they are not mentioned among the hypocrites). It does not mean that ‘Umar was the only one who was free of hypocrisy. Tareeq al-Hijratayn (p. 604)

-it is haraam to pray over a munafiq
-many Muslim women are married to munafiqs
-they have babies for munafiqs
-the British and the French are the worst hypocrites in the world
-they colonize and leave countries in turmoil
-they leased Cyprus from the Ottoman Empire and gave it to the Greeks
-they make money from the conflicts, from the misery
-they say they established the UN to make peace

And when it is said to them: "Make not mischief on the earth," they say: "We are only peacemakers." (Al-Baqarah 2:11)

Verily! They are the ones who make mischief, but they perceive not. (Al-Baqarah 2:12)

-they are so evil they don’t know right from wrong anymore
-1 million people died in Rwanda overnight
-they turned the tribes against each other using divide and rule

Hypocrites like to say wallahi and lie
-they know that when a Muslim hears wallahi they will believe

They have made their oaths a screen (for their hypocrisy). Thus they hinder (men) from the Path of Allāh. Verily, evil is what they used to do. (Al-Munafiqun 63:2)

-so they say that a lot
-they hide behind wallahi to deceive the Muslim
-they can’t donate for Islam

Ali (RA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: ”Give charity without delay for it stands in the way of calamity.” [Mishkat al-Masabih (1/591) No. 1887]

-a hypocrite will say take off your niqab because it is hot
-they ask why you wear it every day
-they can’t give in charity

The hypocrites, men and women, are from one another, they enjoin (on the people) Al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief and polytheism of all kinds and all that Islām has forbidden), and forbid (people) from Al-Ma'rûf (i.e. Islāmic Monotheism and all that Islām orders one to do), and they close their hands [from giving (spending in Allāh's Cause) alms, etc.]. They have forgotten Allāh, so He has forgotten them. Verily, the hypocrites are the Fāsiqûn (rebellious, disobedient to Allāh). (At-Tawbah 9:67)

-they forget Allah, they don’t make dhikr
-so Allah has forgotten them
-their characteristics are greed avarice

And of them are some who accuse you (O Muhammad SAW) in the matter of (the distribution of) the alms. If they are given part thereof, they are pleased, but if they are not given thereof, behold! They are enraged! (At-Tawbah 9:58)

Narrated Abu Saeed al-Khudri: 'Ali bin Abi Talib sent a piece of gold not yet taken out of its ore, in a tanned leather container to Allah's Messenger. The Messenger of Allah distributed that amongst four Persons: 'Uyaina bin Badr, Aqra' bin Habis, Zaid al-Khail and the fourth was either Alqama or Amir bin at-Tufail. On that, one of his companions said, "We are more deserving of this (gold) than these (persons)." When that news reached the Prophet, he said, "Don't you trust me though I am a trustee of the One in the Heavens, and I receive the news of Heaven (i.e. Divine Inspiration) both in the morning and in the evening?" There got up a man with sunken eyes, raised cheek bones, raised forehead, a thick beard, a shaven head and a waist sheet that was tucked up and he said, "O Messenger of Allah, fear Allah!" The Prophet said, "Woe to you! Am I not of all the people of the earth the most entitled to fear Allah?" Then that man went away. Khalid bin al-Walid said, "O Messenger of Allah! Shall I chop his neck off?" The Prophet said, "No, for he may offer prayers." Khalid said, "Numerous are those who offer prayers and say by their tongues (i.e. mouths) what is not in their hearts." Allah's Messenger said, "I have not been ordered (by Allah) to search the hearts of the people or cut open their bellies." Then the Prophet looked at him (i.e. that man) while the latter was going away and said, "From the offspring of this (man there will come out (people) who will recite the Qur'an continuously and elegantly but it will not exceed their throats. (They will neither understand it nor act upon it). They would go out of the religion (i.e. Islam) as an arrow goes through a game's body." I think he also said, "If I should be present at their time I would kill them as the nations a Thamud were killed." [al-Bukhari (4351) and Muslim (1064)]

-the apostate regimes are the Khawarij
-they kill the Muslims and are kind to the kaffir

'Abdullah ibn 'Amr narrated that the Prophet (SAW) said, "If anyone has four characteristics, he is a pure hypocrite, and if anyone has one of them, he has an aspect of hypocrisy until he gives it up: whenever he is trusted, he betrays his trust; whenever he speaks, he lies; when he makes an agreement, he breaks it; and when he quarrels, he deviates from the truth by speaking falsely." [al-Bukhari (34) and Muslim (58)]

-the hypocrites are the enemies within the ummah
-they conspire with the kaffirs to invade Muslim countries

Sheikh Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahab, may Allah have mercy on him, gathered ten actions that negate one's Islam (Nawaqid ul-'Ashr), the eighth one of which states: "Assisting the disbelievers (against the believers) (Mudhaharatul Mushrikeen) and supporting them against the believers (is from the actions that negates of one's faith). The Proof being the statement of Allah, "And if any amongst you takes them as Auliya', then surely he is one of them. Verily, Allah guides not those people who are the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers and unjust). (The Quran 5:51)."

-they allow their airspace and provide fuel to the crusaders

Ibn Hazm Stated in Al-Muhalla (11/138): "What is correct is that His statement, the Most High, "And if any amongst you takes them as Auliya', then surely he is one of them." (The Quran 5:51), should be understood on the basis of its apparent meaning. The person being referred to is a disbeliever from the generality of disbelievers, and no two Muslims disagree regarding this."

Sheikh Ibn Baz stated (Al-Fatawa 1/274): "There is a consensus amongst the scholars that whoever supports the disbelievers against the believers (Dhahar Al-Kuffar 'Ala Al-Muslimeen), and assists them by any means of assistance, then he is a disbeliever just like them (the disbelievers he supported)…"

-if you don’t know this is hypocrisy then you need to learn al walaa wal baraa

Abu al-Husain Muhammad Ibn Ahmad al-'Asqalani said: «The Mu'tazila of Baghdad and Basra, and all of ahl al-Qibla, there is no ikhtilaf between them concerning, that the one who doubts regarding the kafir then he himself is a kafir, because the doubter (sakk) concerning kufr there's no ‘iman for him, because he don't know kufr from ‘iman. So there's no dispute between the Umma, the Mu'tazila and other than them; that the doubter concerning the kafir is kafir!“ Taken from (Kitab al-Tanbih wa al-Radd 'ala ahl al-Ahwa' wa al-Bida’, by Muhammad Ibn Ahmad al-Malati)

And it has already been revealed to you in the Book (this Qur'ān) that when you hear the Verses of Allāh being denied and mocked at, then sit not with them, until they engage in a talk other than that; (but if you stayed with them) certainly in that case you would be like them. -and translate and guide through the land

And when you look at them, their bodies please you; and when they speak, you listen to their words. They are as blocks of wood propped up. They think that every cry is against them. They are the enemies, so beware of them. May Allāh curse them! How are they denying (or deviating from) the Right Path. (Al-Munafiqun 63:4)

Ja'far Ibn Abdullah narrated: We were with Malik Ibn Anas when a man came to him and said: “O Abu Abdullah (Allah said) 'Ar-Rahman upon the Throne Istawa' (20:5), how was His Istiwa? Imam Malik inclined his head and was silent until the sweat of fever covered his brow, then he looked up and said: "Istiwa is not unknown, the Kayf (how) is uncomprehendable, believing in it is wajib (obligatory), and asking about it is bid'ah (innovation), and I do not think that you are anything but an innovator." QUESTION 1:-

Assalamu alaikum Shaikh, what does one do when he is summoned to the kafir court house as a juror or witness?

ANSWER_1:-

-it is better to excuse yourself if you can
-if you cannot escape it then the sin is not on you

Have you seen those (hyprocrites) who claim that they believe in that which has been sent down to you, and that which was sent down before you, and they wish to go for judgement (in their disputes) to the Taghut (false judges, etc.) while they have been ordered to reject them. But Shaitan (Satan) wishes to lead them far astray. (An-Nisa 4:60)

QUESTION 2:-

Does the dead hear?

ANSWER_2:-

-they can hear but they cannot answer

Narrated By Ibn 'Umar: The Prophet looked at the people of the well (the well in which the bodies of the pagans killed in the Battle of Badr were thrown) and said, "Have you found true what your Lord promised you?" Somebody said to him, "You are addressing dead people." He replied, "You do not hear better than they but they cannot reply." [al-Bukhari (1370) and Muslim (2874)]

...“When a individual is placed in his grave and his companions return and he even hears their footsteps, two angels come to him, make him sit and ask: “What did you use to say regarding this man (i.e. Muhammad, SAW)? The believer will say: “I bear testimony that he is the servant and Messenger of Allah” It will be said to him: “Look at your place in the fire of Hell, Allah has changed in stead of it a place for you in Paradise” So he will see both of his places...(Sahih al-Bukhari, no.1308 & Sahih Muslim, no. 2870)

-the knockout punch for the Berailvis is when Allah says in the Quran that
-they could not answer even if they heard

If you invoke (or call upon) them, they hear not your call, and if (in case) they were to hear, they could not grant it (your request) to you. And on the Day of Resurrection, they will disown your worshipping them. And none can inform you (O Muhammad SAW) like Him Who is the All-Knower (of each and everything)[]. (Fatir 35:14)

QUESTION 3:-

Shaikh, there is a sister that is not speaking to me and has given me false and bogus reasoning for no longer speaking to me. Even her husband has warned her about her behavior. I have done nothing to her. I have tried several times to make peace but every time she treats me like a stranger or makes excuses not to speak to me. What do I say about this because I have given her the benefit of the doubt too many times on this issue, am I wrong to wipe my hands on this?

ANSWER_4:-

-you cannot boycott a Muslim for more than three days
-this sister’s actions are not Islamic

Narrated By Abu Aiyub Al-Ansari: Allah's Apostle said, "It is not lawful for a man to desert his brother Muslim for more than three nights. (It is unlawful for them that) when they meet, one of them turns his face away from the other, and the other turns his face from the former, and the better of the two will be the one who greets the other first." [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 8, Book 73, Hadith #100]

Narrated By Abu Khirash as-Sulami: Abu Khirash heard the Apostle of Allah (SAW) say: "If one keeps apart from his brother for a year, it is like shedding his blood." I have countered that the racism in the States is far worse than in the Arab states and that I have never experienced myself racism being there. Yet they give excuses for staying in the States but harsh on those Muslim countries. How should I treat them and how should I counter them according to Quran and Sunnah? JZK

ANSWER_5:-

Some of the Muslims protecting the borders were killed but the people who attacked us were Muslims too. I am wondering is this considered shahada, because they protect the country. And people in my country are being so nationalistic because of this.

ANSWER_8:-
-the murderer and the victim are in the fire
-the events unfolding here are not known
-you can only fight under the mujahideen banner
-those fighting to establish sharia not for nationalism

Narrated By Abu Musa: A man came to the Prophet and asked, "A man fights for war booty; another fights for fame and a third fights for showing off; which of them fights in Allah's Cause?" The Prophet said, "He who fights that Allah's Word (i.e. Islam) should be superior, fights in Allah's Cause." [al-Bukhari (123) and Muslim (1904)]

QUESTION 10:-

Assalamu alaikum sheikh, is it haram for women to masturbate and to use an external vibrator?

ANSWER_10:-

-it is haraam for a virgin, not for non-virgins

Some of the scholars, (particularly those of the Ahnaaf and Hanaabilah) permit masturbation only if one fears falling into zinaa (whilst also making sure that he does not do it often, due to what it leads, and so that it does not become a way to achieve desire, instead of putting the fire out), from that it is less evil, and others said that it is prohibited in every case. Imaam al-Mardaawi in al-Insaaf [10/252] said: "Masturbation is not permitted except in the case of necessity. Having sex with a slave-girl is not permitted except in cases of necessity. If necessity comes into place, having sex with a slave-girl precedes. And masturbation is not permitted, as was categorically stated in al-Wajeez and as is known from Imaam Ahmad." The author of ad-Durr al-Mukhtaar [4/27] said: "Masturbation is prohibited, and (the one who masturbates) is admonished (yu’azzar). If he allows his wife, or slave to fondle with his penis until he comes, then it is disliked, but there is no sin upon him." This unconstrained prohibition of masturbation was constrained by Ibn 'Aabideen al-Hanafi if one is being called to the desire, but he permitted it if one fears falling into zinaa.
Shaykh al-Islaam, Ibn Taymiyyah was asked about masturbation: "Is it prohibited or not?" He answered in Majmoo' al-Fataawa [35/229]: "As for masturbation with the hand, then it is prohibited according to the majority of scholars, and this is the more correct saying in the mathhab of Ahmad. Its doer is admonished. The other saying is that it is makrooh, and not prohibited. The vast majority (of scholars) do not permit it whether for fear of fornication or otherwise. It is narrated that from a group of the companions and taabi’een that they licensed it due to necessity, like fear of zinaa, if one is not protected from it except by masturbating. Ahmad also said that it is permissible for fear of disease. In other than necessity, I do not know anyone who licensed it."

...When the Prophet returned to Medina, Abu Basir, a new Muslim convert from Quraish came to him. The Infidels sent in his pursuit two men who said (to the Prophet), "Abide by the promise you gave us." So, the Prophet handed him over to them. They took him out (of the City) till they reached Dhul-Hulaifa where they dismounted to eat some dates they had with them. Abu Basir said to one of them, "By Allah, O so-and-so, I see you have a fine sword." The other drew it out (of the scabbard) and said, "By Allah, it is very fine and I have tried it many times." Abu Bair said, "Let me have a look at it."
When the other gave it to him, he hit him with it till he died, and his companion ran away till he came to Medina and entered the Mosque running. When Allah's Apostle saw him he said, "This man appears to have been frightened." When he reached the Prophet he said, "My companion has been murdered and I would have been murdered too." Abu Basir came and said, "O Allah's Apostle, by Allah, Allah has made you fulfil your obligations by your returning me to them (i.e. the Infidels), but Allah has saved me from them." The Prophet said, "Woe to his mother! what excellent war kindler he would be, should he only have supporters." When Abu Basir heard that he understood that the Prophet would return him to them again, so he set off till he reached the seashore. Abu Jandal bin Suhail got himself released from them (i.e. infidels) and joined Abu Basir. So, whenever a man from Quraish embraced Islam he would follow Abu Basir till they formed a strong group. By Allah, whenever they heard about a caravan of Quraish heading towards Sham, they stopped it and attacked and killed them (i.e. infidels) and took their properties. The people of Quraish sent a message to the Prophet requesting him for the Sake of Allah and Kith and kin to send for (i.e. Abu Basir and his companions) promising that whoever (amongst them) came to the Prophet would be secure. So the Prophet sent for them (i.e. Abu Basir's companions) and Allah I revealed the following Divine Verses:
"And it is He Who Has withheld their hands from you and your hands From them in the midst of Mecca, After He made you the victorious over them... the unbelievers had pride and haughtiness, in their hearts... the pride and haughtiness of the time of ignorance." (48.24-26) And their pride and haughtiness was that they did not confess (write in the treaty) that he (i.e. Muhammad) was the Prophet of Allah and refused to write: "In the Name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the Most Merciful," and prevented the Mushriks from visiting the Ka'ba.
Narrated Az-Zuhri: Urwa said, "'Aisha told me that Allah's Apostle used to examine the women emigrants. We have been told also that when Allah revealed the order that the Muslims should return to the pagans what they had spent on their wives who emigrated (after embracing Islam) and that the Mushriks should not. keep unbelieving women as their wives, 'Umar divorced two of his wives, Qariba, the daughter of Abu Urhaiya and the daughter of Jarwal Al-Khuza'i. Later on Mu'awlya married Qariba and Abu Jahm married the other."
When the pagans refused to pay what the Muslims had spent on their wives, Allah revealed: "And if any of your wives have gone from you to the unbelievers and you have an accession (By the coming over of a woman from the other side) (Then pay to those whose wives have gone) The equivalent of what they had spent (On their Mahr)." (60.11)
So, Allah ordered that the Muslim whose wife, has gone, should be given, as a compensation of the Mahr he had given to his wife, from the Mahr of the wives of the pagans who had emigrated deserting their husbands.
We do not know any of the women emigrants who deserted Islam after embracing it. We have also been told that Abu Basir bin Asid Ath-Thaqafi came to the Prophet as a Muslim emigrant during the truce. Al-Akhnas bin Shariq wrote to the Prophet requesting him to return Abu Basir. [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 3, Book 50, Hadith #891]
