This surah was revealed in Makkah
-and it’s talking about the day of judgement and focused on tawheed
-it’s the Sunnah of Allah to invite to tawheed in darul harb
-and invite to Shari’ah in darul Islam

Judgement day has 50 names
-Al Haqqah = the reality of which you can’t escape from

Naba = news and anbaa is the plural

What are they asking (one another)? (An-Naba 78:1)

About the great news, (i.e. Islāmic Monotheism, the Qur'ān, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), (An-Naba 78:2)

About which they are in disagreement. (An-Naba 78:3

Nay, they will come to know! (An-Naba 78:4)

Nay, again, they will come to know! (An-Naba 78:5)

Have We not made the earth as a bed, (An-Naba 78:6)

And the mountains as pegs? (An-Naba 78:7)

And We have created you in pairs (male and female, tall and short, good and bad, etc.). (An-Naba 78:8)

Ayah 78:8 resembles 30:21

And among His Signs is this, that He created for you wives from among yourselves, that you may find repose in them, and He has put between you affection and mercy. Verily, in that are indeed signs for a people who reflect. (Ar-Rum 30:21)

-it is natural for the opposite sexes to mate
-therefore the homosexuals have gone against nature
-and their way threatens the success of the human race
-because it will come to a halt

And have made your sleep as a thing for rest. (An-Naba 78:9)

-the night is for you to rest and the day for you to work

By the night as it envelops; (Al-Lail 92:1)

And by the day as it appears in brightness; (Al-Lail 92:2)

-you can't exchange the daylight for any other light
-people love the dunya that is why they have 24 hour societies
-where the cities never sleep like Hong Kong and New York

And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness), (An-Naba 78:10)

And have made the day for livelihood. (An-Naba 78:11)

-so you have them working day and night
-because they are chasing the dunya
-they love the dunya

And you love wealth with much love! (Al-Fajr 89:20)

-so even if you read the Quran and Allah (swt) tells you that you are to rest at night
-and work at day, people still work 24 hours because of their love for wealth

And you devour inheritance all with greed, (Al-Fajr 89:19)

-some people are so greedy with wealth they can't wait for
-their parents to die for them to inherit
-some kill their parents for the inheritance

And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), (An-Naba 78:12)

-the highest heaven has The Throne of Allah on top of it
-you should ask for firdaws when making dua for jannah because it is the highest place

And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). (An-Naba 78:13)

-Allah used siraaj (lamp) to describe the sun
-but called the moon muneer (reflector)
-the sun produces its own light and heat
-this is a scientific fact in the Quran

The sun is used as hujjah against the atheist
-it is perfectly placed above us in the right distance away from us
-not too far (we will freeze to death) and not too close (we will burn to death)

And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water. (An-Naba 78:14)

That We may produce therewith corn and vegetations, (An-Naba 78:15)

And gardens of thick growth. (An-Naba 78:16)

-water is very vital to the human being
-you need it as a nutrient and to purify yourself
-without water the crops will fail and animals will die
-eventually human survival will be difficult or impossible
-therefore do not take this blessing of Allah for granted
-and be ungrateful to Allah

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah in al-Fataawa al-Kubra (5/307): It is obligatory to do ghusl on Fridays for one who is sweaty or has an odour that may offend others. End quote.

Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and the earth were joined together as one united piece, then We parted them? And We have made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe? (Al-Anbiya 21 :30)

-this ayah is the big bang theory in the Quran
-it didn't happen by accident but Allah (swt) made it happen
-so we are all created from water
-and Allah will withhold the rain if you don't pay zakat

It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin 'Umar said: "The Messenger of Allah (SAW) turned to us and said: 'O Muhajirin, there are five things with which you will be tested, and I seek refuge with Allah lest you live to see them: Immorality never appears among a people to such an extent that they commit it openly, but plagues and diseases that were never known among the predecessors will spread among them. They do not cheat in weights and measures but they will be stricken with famine, severe calamity and the oppression of their rulers. They do not withhold the Zakah of the wealth, but rain will be withheld from the sky, and were it not for the animals, no rain would fall on them. They do not break the covenant with Allah and His Messenger, but Allah will enable their enemies to overpower them and take some of what is in their hands. Unless their leaders rule according to the Book of Allah and seek all good from that which Allah has revealed, Allah will cause them to fight one another. [Sunan Ibn Majah (Arabic/English), Vol. 5, pg. 222-223, Hadith #4019]

Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed time, (An-Naba 78:17)

The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); (An-Naba 78:18)

And the heaven shall be opened, and it will become as gates, (An-Naba 78:19)

And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage. (An-Naba 78:20)

-only Allah knows when the Day Of Judgement is

But of that day and hour knoweth no [man], no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. (Matthew 24:36) King James Version

-one of the names of Day Of Judgement is 'Day of decision'
-because Allah will sort out the truth from the falsehood
-and makes the decision about who is right and wrong

The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); (Surah Nabaa 78:18)

-when the trumpet is blown a man watering his flock will be the first to hear it
-it will be blown 3 times

Whatsoever is on it (the earth) will perish (Surah Rahman 55:26)

And the Face of your Lord full of Majesty and Honour will abide forever(Surah Rahman 55:27)

-the first is to cause horror and terror
-the second is to cause death and the third to cause resurrection
-you will be resurrected with who you associate yourself with

Narrated By Abu Musa: Allah's Apostle said, "The example of a good companion (who sits with you) in comparison with a bad one, is like that of the musk seller and the blacksmith's bellows (or furnace); from the first you would either buy musk or enjoy its good smell while the bellows would either burn your clothes or your house, or you get a bad nasty smell thereof." [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 3, Book 34, Hadith #314]

Narrated By Anas: A bedouin came to the Prophet and said, "O Allah's Apostle! When will The Hour be established?" The Prophet said, "Wailaka (Woe to you), What have you prepared for it?" The bedouin said, "I have not prepared anything for it, except that I love Allah and His Apostle." The Prophet said, "You will be with those whom you love." We (the companions of the Prophet) said, "And will we too be so? The Prophet said, "Yes." So we became very glad on that day. In the meantime, a slave of Al-Mughira passed by, and he was of the same age as I was. The Prophet said. "If this (slave) should live long, he will not reach the geriatric old age, but the Hour will be established." [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 8, Book 73, Hadith #188]

That Day mankind will proceed in scattered groups that they may be shown their deeds (Surah Zalzalah 99:6)

And the heaven shall be opened, and it will become as gates (Surah Nabaa 78:19)

-each paradise has 8 gates

And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage (Surah Nabaa 78::20)

-you are impressed by these mountains
-many people die trying to conquer the mountains
-these mountains act as pegs on the earth
-man will be like flies on Day Of Judgement and the mountains will be like wool
-and the seas will be blazing with fire

And the mountains as pegs? (Suraah Nabaa 78:7)

Al-Qari'ah (the striking Hour i.e. the Day of Resurrection (Al Qariah 101:1)

What is the striking (Hour)? (Al Qariah 101: :2)

And what will make you know what the striking (Hour) is?( Al Qariah 101:3)

And when the stars shall fall; (Surah Takwir 81:2)

And when the mountains shall made to pass away; (Surah Takwir 81:3)

-the sun, moon and the stars will fall down from the sky
-so all these things you are impressed with, the mountains, the oceans etc.
-on Day Of Judgement they will all be nothing
-they will be insignificant and worthless

Truly, Hell is a place of ambush (Surah Nabaa 78:21)

A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundary limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hypocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), (Surah Nabaa 78:22)

-the worst transgression is not zina or taking drugs
-but it is committing shirk
-Allah will forgive every sin except shirk

Verily, Allah forgives not that partners should be set up with him in worship, but He forgives except that (anything else) to whom He pleases, and whoever sets up partners with Allah in worship, he has indeed invented a tremendous sin (SURAH NISAA 04 :48)

And (remember) when Luqman said to his son when he was advising him: "O my son! Join not in worship others with Allah. Verily! Joining others in worship with Allah is a great Zulm (wrong) indeed (SURAH LUQMAN 31:13)

They (Jews and Christians) took their rabbis and their monks to be their lords besides Allāh (by obeying them in things which they made lawful or unlawful according to their own desires without being ordered by Allāh), and (they also took as their Lord) Messiah, son of Maryam (Mary), while they (Jews and Christians) were commanded [in the Taurāt (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)) to worship none but One Ilāh (God - Allāh) Lā ilāha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He)[]. Praise and glory be to Him, (far above is He) from having the partners they associate (with Him)." (At-Tawbah 9:31)

Have you seen him who takes his own lust (vain desires) as his ilah (god), and Allah knowing (him as such), left him astray, and sealed his hearing and his heart, and put a cover on his sight. Who then will guide him after Allah? Will you not then remember? ( SURAH jATHIYAH 45:23)

They will abide therein for ages (Surah Nabaa 78:23)

Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink (Surah Nabaa 78:24)

Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges (Surah Nabaa 78:25)

An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes (Surah Nabaa 78:26)

For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning (Surah Nabaa 78:27)

-every time their skin burns away they are given new skin to feel the pain

Surely! Those who disbelieved in Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) We shall burn them in Fire. As often as their skins are roasted through, We shall change them for other skins that they may taste the punishment. Truly, Allah is Ever Most Powerful, All-Wise (04:56)

Verily, for the Muttaqun, there will be a success (Paradise) (Surah Nabaa 78:31)

Gardens and grapeyards (Surah Nabaa78:32)

-Allah keeps on talking about garden because whether in the dunya or aakhira
-it is pleasing to the eye, heart and soul
-sitting and looking at the garden makes your heart soft
-having the pleasure of feeding the animals in the garden
-and enjoying the spring is a blessing and has an impact on the heart

And young full-breasted (mature) maidens of equal age;(78:33)

And a full cup (of wine) (78:34)

No Laghw (dirty, false, evil talk) shall they hear therein, nor lying (78:35)

A reward from your Lord, an ample calculated gift (according to the best of their good deeds). (78:36)

(From) the Lord of the heavens and the earth, and whatsoever is in between them, the Most Beneficent, none can dare to speak with Him (on the Day of Resurrection except after His Leave). (An-Naba 78:37)

The Day that Ar-Ruh [Jibrael (Gabriel) or another angel] and the angels will stand forth in rows, none shall speak except him whom the Most Beneficent (Allah) allows, and he will speak what is right. (78:38)

That is without doubt the True Day, so, whosoever wills, let him seek a place with (or a way to) His Lord (by obeying Him in this worldly life)! (An-Naba 78:39)

Verily, We have warned you of a near torment, the Day when man will see that (the deeds) which his hands have sent forth, and the disbeliever will say: "Woe to me! Would that I were dust!" (78:40)

Ah! Woe to me! Would that I had never taken so-and-so as a friend! (25:28)

-a man belongs to the religion of his friend

Narrated by Abu Hurairah Radi ALLAH Taala Anhu: The Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasalaam said: "A man follows the religion of his friend; so each one should consider whom he makes his friend". (Sunan Abu Dawud, Book 41, Number 4815)

Do they not see the birds above them, spreading out their wings and folding them in? None upholds them except the Most Beneficent (Allah). Verily, He is the All-Seer of everything. ( 67:19)

And they will say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we would not have been among the dwellers of the blazing Fire!" ( 67:10)

Verily! The worst of (moving) living creatures with Allah are the deaf and the dumb, those who understand not (i.e. the disbelievers) ( 08 : 22)

Verily, We have warned you of a near torment, the Day when man will see that (the deeds) which his hands have sent forth, and the disbeliever will say: "Woe to me! Would that I were dust!" (78:40)
