A sin is when a person disobeys Allah (swt) and the perpetrator wasn't a child
-nor was he forced, nor forgetful, nor insane

Amr ibn Shu’ayb from his father that his grandfather said: The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “Teach your children to pray when they are seven years old, and smack them if they do not pray when they are ten years old, and separate them in their beds.” [Sunan Abu Dawud (1/133) No. 495 and Musnad Ahmad (2/180) No. 6689]

Ali reported that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, "The pen has been raised for three persons (meaning they are not held accountable for what they do): one who is sleeping until he gets up, a child until he reaches the age of puberty, and an insane person until he becomes sane." [Musnad Ahmad (1/154) No. 1327, Sunan Abu Dawud (4/140) No. 4402, Sunan Tirmidhi (4/32) No. 1423, Sunan Ibn Majah (3/198) No. 2041, al-Sunan al-Kubra al-Nasa'i (5/265) No. 5596, Mustadrak al-Haakim (2/67) No. 2350]

-so you are not allowed to punish a child or a mad man
-the person should not also be ignorant
-neither did he make mistake
-so a slip of the tongue is not a sin

Abu Hamza Anas ibn Malik al-Ansari (RA) the servant of the Messenger of Allah narrated: Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, “Verily, Allah is more delighted with the repentance of His slave than a person who lost his camel in a desert land and then finds it (unexpectedly).” [al-Bukhari (6308) and Muslim (2747)]

In another version of Muslim, he said: “Verily, Allah is more pleased with the repentance of His slave than a person who has his camel in a waterless desert carrying his provision of food and drink and it is lost. He, having lost all hopes (to get that back), lies down in shade and is disappointed about his camel; when all of a sudden he finds that camel standing before him. He takes hold of its reins and then out of boundless joy blurts out: 'O Allah, You are my slave and I am Your Rubb'. He commits this mistake out of extreme joy.” [Sahih Muslim (4/2104) No. 2747]

Ibn 'Abbas (RA) the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "Verily Allah has pardoned [or been lenient with] for me my Ummah: their mistakes, their forgetfulness, and that which they have been forced to do under duress." [Sunan Ibn Majah (3/200) No. 2045, al-Mu’jam al-Kabir al-Tabarani (11/133) No. 11274, al-Sunan al-Kubra al-Bayhaqi (7/584) No. 15094, Sunan al-Daraqutni (5/300) No. 4351]

-so if a person puts a gun on your head to drink alcohol is not sin
-because you are under duress

Every sin is kufr but there are two types of kufr
-the Khawarij went astray with regards to sins
-they don't classify sins i.e. they take all sins to be the same intensity

Ibn Mas'ud reported that the Messenger of Allah (SAW), said, "Insulting a Muslim is going off the path (fusuq) and killing him is disbelief (kufr)." [al-Bukhari (48) and Muslim (64)]

-the only sin that can take you outside the fold of Islam is major kufr
-but the Khawarij paint everything with the same brush and say otherwise

Narrated By 'Umar bin Al-Khattab: During the lifetime of the Prophet there was a man called 'Abdullah whose nickname was Donkey, and he used to make Allah's Apostle laugh. The Prophet lashed him because of drinking (alcohol). And one-day he was brought to the Prophet on the same charge and was lashed. On that, a man among the people said, "O Allah, curse him ! How frequently he has been brought (to the Prophet on such a charge)!" The Prophet said, "Do not curse him, for by Allah, I know for he loves Allah and His Apostle." [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 8, Book 81, Hadith #771]

-the rasul (saw) came to his defense because he doesn't want people to be takfiris
-making takfir on people who are not kuffaar
-the Khawarij kill Muslims and are friendly with the kuffaar
-every major kufr is a major sin, but not every major sin is a major kufr

Imam Shafi’i was advised to give up sins when he started being forgetful
-because he saw the leg of a woman when the wind blew her garment
-this was by accident

نور الله لا يهدى لعاص
شكوت إلى وكيع سوء حفظي ..... فأرشدني إلى ترك المعاصي
وأخـبرني بأن العـلم نــور ..... ونور الله لا يهـدى لعـاص
The light of Allah is not given to the disobedient:
“I complained to Wakee’ of my poor memory. Leaving sins is what he guided me to address. He informed me that knowledge is a light. And Allah’s light is not gifted to those who transgress.” [Diwan ash-Shafi'i]

-knowledge is light from Allah (swt) so you need to stay away from sins

...So be afraid of Allah; and Allah teaches you. And Allah is the All-Knower of each and everything. (Al-Baqarah 2:282)

Abu Huraira (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said: “Two characteristics cannot combine in a hypocrite: good character and an understanding of religion.” [Sunan Tirmidhi (5/49) No. 2684, al-Thiqat Ibn Hibban (8/227) No. 13149, al-Mu’jam al-Awsat al-Tabarani (8/75) No. 8010, al-Madkhal ila al-Sunan al-Kubra al-Bayhaqi (pg. 256) No. 357]

-a munafiq is not interested in knowledge of the deen
-but that of the dunya

Whatever of good reaches you, is from Allah, but whatever of evil befalls you, is from yourself. And We have sent you (O Muhammad SAW) as a Messenger to mankind, and Allah is Sufficient as a Witness. (An-Nisa 4:79)

Narrated By Abu Huraira: that he heard Allah's Apostle saying, "Allah willed to test three Israelis who were a Leper, a blind man and a bald-headed man. So, he sent them an angel who came to the leper and said, 'What thing do you like most?' He replied, "Good color and good skin, for the people have a strong aversion to me.' The angel touched him and his illness was cured, and he was given a good color and beautiful skin. The angel asked him, 'What kind of property do you like best?' He replied, 'Camels (or cows).' (The narrator is in doubt, for either the leper or the bald-headed man demanded camels and the other demanded cows.) So he (i.e. the leper) was given a pregnant she-camel, and the angel said (to him), 'May Allah bless you in it.' The angel then went to the bald-headed man and said, 'What things do you like most?' He said, 'I like good hair and wish to be cured of this disease, for the people feel repulsion for me.' The angel touched him and his illness was cured, and he was given good hair. The angel asked (him), 'What kind of property do you like bests' He replied, 'Cows,' The angel gave him a pregnant cow and said, 'May Allah bless you in it.' The angel went to the blind man and asked, 'What thing do you like best?' He said, '(I like) that Allah may restore my eye-sight to me so that I may see the people.' The angel touched his eyes and Allah gave him back his eye-sight. The angel asked him, "What kind of property do you like best?' He replied, 'Sheep.' The angel gave him a pregnant sheep. Afterwards, all the three pregnant animals gave birth to young ones, and multiplied and brought forth so much that one of the (three) men had a herd of camels filling a valley, and one had a herd of cows filling a valley, and one had a flock of sheep filling a valley. Then the angel, disguised in the shape and appearance of a leper, went to the leper and said, I am a poor man, who has lost all means of livelihood while on a journey. So none will satisfy my need except Allah and then you. In the Name of Him Who has given you such nice color and beautiful skin, and so much property, I ask you to give me a camel so that I may reach my destination. The man replied, 'I have many obligations (so I cannot give you).' The angel said, 'I think I know you; were you not a leper to whom the people had a strong aversion? Weren't you a poor man, and then Allah gave you (all this property).' He replied, '(This is all wrong), I got this property through inheritance from my fore-fathers' The angel said, 'If you are telling a lie, then let Allah make you as you were before.' Then the angel, disguised in the shape and appearance of a bald man, went to the bald man and said to him the same as he told the first one, and he too answered the same as the first one did. The angel said, 'If you are telling a lie, then let Allah make you as you were before.' The angel, disguised in the shape of a blind man, went to the blind man and said, 'I am a poor man and a traveler, whose means of livelihood have been exhausted while on a journey. I have nobody to help me except Allah, and after Him, you yourself. I ask you in the Name of Him Who has given you back your eye-sight to give me a sheep, so that with its help, I may complete my journey' The man said, 'No doubt, I was blind and Allah gave me back my eye-sight; I was poor and Allah made me rich; so take anything you wish from my property. By Allah, I will not stop you for taking anything (you need) of my property which you may take for Allah's sake.' The angel replied, 'Keep your property with you. You (i.e 3 men) have been tested and Allah is pleased with you and is angry with your two companions." [Sahih Bukhari, Vol.4, Book 56, Hadith #670]

It was narrated from Thawban that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "Nothing increases one's life span except righteousness and nothing repels the Divine decree except supplication, and a man may be deprived of provision by a sin that he commits."' [Sunan Ibn Majah (5/152) No. 4022, Musnad Ahmad (5/277) No. 22440, Mustadrak al-Haakim (1/670) No. 1814, Sahih Ibn Hibban (3/153) No. 872, al-Sunan al-Kubra al-Nasa'i (10/380) No. 11775]

-Haiti is one of the poorest countries because their religion is black magic

Ibn al-Qayyim (rh) said:
1 – Being deprived of knowledge for knowledge is light that Allaah causes to reach the heart, and sin extinguishes that light. When al-Shaafa’i sat before Maalik and read to him, he admired him because of the intelligence, alertness and understanding that he saw in him. He said, “I think that Allaah has caused light to enter your heart, so do not extinguish it with the darkness of sin.”
2 – Being deprived of provision. In Musnad Ahmad it is narrated that Thawbaan said: “The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ‘A man is deprived of provision because of the sins that he commits.’” (Narrated by Ibn Maajah, 4022).
3 – Sense of alienation that comes between a person and his Lord, and between him and other people. One of the salaf (righteous predecessors) said: “If I disobey Allaah, I see that in the attitude of my riding beast and my wife.”
4 – Things become difficult for him, so that he does not turn his attention towards any matter but he finds the way blocked or he finds it difficult. By the same token, for the one who fears Allaah, things are made easy for him.
5 – The sinner will find darkness in his heart, which he will feel just as he feels the darkness of night. So this darkness affects his heart as the physical darkness affects his vision. For obedience is light and disobedience is darkness. The stronger the darkness grows, the greater becomes his confusion, until he falls into innovation, misguidance and other things that lead to doom, without even realizing, like a blind man who goes out in the darkness of the night, walking alone. This darkness grows stronger until it covers the eyes, then it grows stronger until it covers the face, which appears dark and is seen by everyone. ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Abbaas said: “Good deeds make the face light, give light to the heart, and bring about ample provision, physical strength and love in people’s hearts. Bad deeds make the face dark, give darkness to the heart, and bring about physical weakness, a lack of provision and hatred in people’s hearts.”
6 – Deprivation of worship and obedience. If sin brought no punishment other than that it prevents a person from doing an act of worship which is the opposite of sin, and cuts off access to other acts of worship, that would be bad enough. So the sin cuts off a third way and a fourth way and so on, and because of the sin he is cut off from many acts of worship, each of which would have been better for him than this world and everything in it. So he is like a man who eats food that is bound to cause a lengthy sickness, and thus he is deprived of many other foods that are better than that. And Allaah is the One Whose help we seek.
7 – Sin breeds sin until it dominates a person and he cannot escape from it.
8 – Sin weakens a person’s willpower. It gradually strengthens his will to commit sin and weakens his will to repent until there is no will in his heart to repent at all… so he seeks forgiveness and expresses repentance, but it is merely words on the lips, like the repentance of the liars, whose hearts are still determined to commit sin and persist in it. This is one of the most serious diseases that are most likely to lead to doom.
9 – He will become desensitized and will no longer find sin abhorrent, so it will become his habit, and he will not be bothered if people see him committing the sin or talk about him.
For the leaders of immorality, this is the ultimate shamelessness in which they find great pleasure, such that they feel proud of their sin and will speak of it to people who do not know that they have done it, saying, “O so and so, I did such and such.” Such people cannot be helped and the path to repentance is blocked for them in most cases. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “All of my ummah (followers) will be fine except for those who commit sin openly, and that includes cases where Allaah conceals a person’s sin, but the following morning he exposes himself and says, ‘O So and so, I did such and such last night, so he shamelessly exposes himself when all night his Lord had concealed his sin.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5949; Muslim, 2744).
10 – When there are many sins they leave a mark on the heart of the person who commits them, so he becomes one of the negligent. As one of the salaf said, concerning the aayah (verse)–
“Nay! But on their hearts is the Raan (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn” [al-Mutaffifeen 83:14 – interpretation of the meaning] – this means sin after sin.
How this starts is that the heart gets stained by sin, and if the sin increases then the stain grows bigger until it becomes the raan (covering of sin and evil deeds), then it increases until it becomes a seal, and the heart becomes covered and sealed. If that happens after a person had been guided and had understood, then his heart is turned upside down, and at that point the Shaytaan gains control over him and directs him as he wants.
[Ibnul Qayyim, al-Jawaab al-Kaafi (pg. 52-60)]

-many at times people are on the run because of the sins they perpetuated
-it even affects your relationship with your family

Every time you try to accomplish something in your life you can't achieve it

...And whosoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty). (At-Talaq 65:2)

And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine. And whosoever puts his trust in Allah, then He will suffice him. Verily, Allah will accomplish his purpose. Indeed Allah has set a measure for all things. (At-Talaq 65:3)

Many at times people marry a shaytan without realizing it

O you who believe! If you obey and fear Allah, He will grant you Furqan a criterion [(to judge between right and wrong), or (Makhraj, i.e. making a way for you to get out from every difficulty)], and will expiate for you your sins, and forgive you, and Allah is the Owner of the Great Bounty. (Al-Anfal 8:29)

-you are conned by people because you lost your furqan
-every week 2-3 women are killed in the UK

And nothing prevents their contributions from being accepted from them except that they disbelieved in Allah and in His Messenger (Muhammad SAW); and that they came not to As-Salat (the prayer) except in a lazy state; and that they offer not contributions but unwillingly. (At-Tawbah 9:54)

The munafiqoon are lazy to come to salah
-fasting, waking up for fajr, jihad, Zakah etc. is just too much for them

If a man is caught stealing or committing zina once
-he had lied his way out

-Especially if it has to do with pleasures of the flesh
-they can't reform so you should fear addiction

Until, when death comes to one of them (those who join partners with Allah), he says: "My Lord! Send me back, (Al-Mu'minun 23:99)

"So that I may do good in that which I have left behind!" No! It is but a word that he speaks, and behind them is Barzakh (a barrier) until the Day when they will be resurrected. (Al-Mu'minun 23:100)

In the 1950s to be gay was very shameful and people hide it
-both in Europe and America
-but now they brag and boast about it
-it is now a norm and not a taboo

And if the truth had been in accordance with their desires, verily, the heavens and the earth, and whosoever is therein would have been corrupted! Nay, We have brought them their reminder, but they turn away from their reminder. (Al-Mu'minun 23:71)

-do not underestimate how dangerous your evil desires can be
-the French allow a man to date his own daughter because
-they claim they are two consenting adults
-you have animal brothels in Denmark
-in America the soldiers are allowed to have intercourse with animals in the battlefield

There are 'muslims' who can't recite the tashahud, or call the adhan

Nay! But on their hearts is the Ran (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn. (Al-Mutaffifin 83:14)

-they are negligent of Allah and His deen
-your heart becomes rusty when you miss three salatul jumuah in row

Abu Al-Ja'd (meaning Ad-Damri) narrated, and he was a Companion according to the claim of Muhammad bin Amr: the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: 'Whoever neglects the Friday prayer three times (in a row) without an excuse, then Allah sets a seal upon his heart.'" [Sunan Tirmidhi (2/373) No. 500, Musnad Ahmad (3/424) No. 15537, Sunan Abu Dawud (1/277) No. 1052, Sunan al-Nasa'i (3/88) No. 1369, Sunan Ibn Majah (2/213) No. 1125, Sunan al-Darime (1/444) No. 1571, Muwatta Malik (1/180) No. 468]

Ibn 'Umar and Abu Hurairah (RA) reported: "We heard the Messenger of Allah (SAW) saying (while delivering Khutbah on his wooden pulpit), "Either some people (i.e. hypocrites) stop neglecting the Friday prayers, or Allah will seal their hearts and they will be among the heedless." [Sahih Muslim (2/591) No. 865]

Stay chaste and your women will be chaste, and save yourself from that which is unfit for a Muslim. Verily, adultery is a debt, if you have taken this debt, know that its payment will be taken from the people of your household. One who commits adultery, in return adultery will be commited with him, even though it will be commited against the wall of your house. O man! If you are wise then you should know it (Diwan Ash-Shafi'i)

If you seduce someone's wife it will be done to you too
-the Whiteman in South Africa used to oppress the black
-so now they lost their jobs and they are begging like the black used to do
-so don’t oppress people when you are in power

When Umar bin al-Khattab (RA) dispatched the army of Saad bin Abi Waqqas (RA) to the Battle of al-Qadisiyyah, he advised him: “Fear your sins more than you fear the enemy as your sins are more dangerous to you than your enemy. We Muslims are only victorious over our enemy because their sins outnumber ours, not for any other reason. If our sins were equal to those of our enemy, then they would defeat us due to their superior numbers and resources.” [NO TAKHREEJ]

-so if you are equal to the kuffaar in sins they will win against you
-this is why Allah's help does not come or it is delayed
-Abdullah Azzam (rh) asked the Palestinians the reason why they were fighting
-they said they were fighting for nationalism, so he left them for Afghanistan
-this is why they are yet to win the war

They (hyprocrites) say: "If we return to Al-Madinah, indeed the more honourable ('Abdullah bin Ubai bin Salul, the chief of hyprocrites at Al¬Madinah) will expel therefrom the meaner (i.e. Allah's Messenger SAW)." But honour, power and glory belong to Allah, His Messenger (Muhammad SAW), and to the believers, but the hypocrites know not. (Al-Munafiqun 63:8)

-you may have to run away from the place you live because of your sins

If you are a Muslim parent don't do haram in front of your kids
-if a Muslim mother doesn't wear hijab she can't tell her daughters to wear hijab

SINS (Their Evil Effects on the Individual and Society) By Shaikh Faisal Re-Edited

-when you lose this you are obliged to change your name and make hijra

It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin 'Umar said: "The Messenger of Allah (SAW) turned to us and said: 'O Muhajirin, there are five things with which you will be tested, and I seek refuge with Allah lest you live to see them: Immorality never appears among a people to such an extent that they commit it openly, but plagues and diseases that were never known among the predecessors will spread among them. They do not cheat in weights and measures but they will be stricken with famine, severe calamity and the oppression of their rulers. They do not withhold the Zakah of the wealth, but rain will be withheld from the sky, and were it not for the animals, no rain would fall on them. They do not break the covenant with Allah and His Messenger, but Allah will enable their enemies to overpower them and take some of what is in their hands. Unless their leaders rule according to the Book of Allah and seek all good from that which Allah has revealed, Allah will cause them to fight one another. [Sunan Ibn Majah (Arabic/English), Vol. 5, pg. 222-223, Hadith #4019]

-sins cause new diseases to emerge in the society that was never seen before

Evil (sins and disobedience of Allah, etc.) has appeared on land and sea because of what the hands of men have earned (by oppression and evil deeds, etc.), that Allah may make them taste a part of that which they have done, in order that they may return (by repenting to Allah, and begging His Pardon). (Ar-Rum 30:41)

-example of a new disease:

1. Mad Cow Disease
-there was no such thing as mad cow disease in the time of the sahabah
-now they give the cow meat to eat
-but cows were created as herbivores

2. Swine flu

3. Foot and mouth disease, among others

-these come out because of sins of men
-for him who feeds meat to the cow is easy for him to become a homosexual
-he is perverted

...There is a lump of flesh in the body, the nature of which is that when it is sound, the entire body is sound, and when it is corrupt, the entire body is corrupt - it is the heart.'" [al-Bukhari (52) and Muslim (1599)]

-he worships idols of wood and stone and follows his evil desires
-if your heart is corrupted, the rest of you become corrupted

-when someone sins he has mental health issues
-because they turn away from Allah; they have mental diseases and hear voices

And whosoever turns away (blinds himself) from the remembrance of the Most Beneficent (Allah) (i.e. this Qur'an and worship of Allah), We appoint for him Shaitan (Satan ¬ devil) to be a Qarin (an intimate companion) to him. (Az-Zukhruf 43:36)

-they do not remember Allah
-so a shaytan is appointed for them as an intimate friend
-some end up in the mental homes of the kuffar
-it is very embarrassing for a Muslim
-because you didn’t remember Allah,
-the shaytan whispers in the bosom of men

"Who whispers in the breasts of mankind, (An-Nas 114:5)

"Of jinns and men." (An-Nas 114:6)

-they go to the doctor and he gives them pills for hearing voices
-they say he is suffering from a chemical imbalance of the chemicals in the brain'
-the doctors cannot diagnose it properly because it is a spiritual problem
-they are not taught to deal with this
-they are not equipped to treat it
-psychiatrists are very busy in Europe

"But whosoever turns away from My Reminder (i.e. neither believes in this Qur'an nor acts on its orders, etc.) verily, for him is a life of hardship, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Resurrection." (Ta-Ha 20:124)

He will say:"O my Lord! Why have you raised me up blind, while I had sight (before)." (Ta-Ha 20:125)

(Allah) will say: "Like this, Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) came unto you, but you disregarded them (i.e. you left them, did not think deeply in them, and you turned away from them), and so this Day, you will be neglected (in the Hell-fire, away from Allah's Mercy)." (Ta-Ha 20:126)

-this ayah is the other evidence that sins cause you to suffer from mental illness
-diseases of the heart cause you to have mental issues
-some of them are diagnosed as bipolar disorder
-you have mood swings
-you are happy then sad
-that is why the doctor says you are bipolar
-others hear voices
-some are paranoid
-there are many illnesses
-you are depressed because you commit sins

And I (Allah) created not the jinns and humans except they should worship Me (Alone). (Adh-Dhariyat 51:56)

-there is no hadith about a mental health hospital in Madina in the time of the rasul (saw)
-when you don’t worship Allah and you dabble in sins
-you are going to have a mental breakdown
-it is embarrassing to go to a kaffir psychiatrist for therapy
-you don’t read the Quran
-this is the cure for depression

And they brought his shirt stained with false blood. He said: "Nay, but your ownselves have made up a tale. So (for me) patience is most fitting. And it is Allah (Alone) Whose help can be sought against that which you assert." (Yusuf 12:18)

-when the hypocrites accused Aisha (r.a) of having an affair she recited this verse
-the Quran is the greatest book of sociology, criminology etc.
-you will never understand it unless you learn the tafseer
-by you sinning you are going against your fitrah
-you will suffer mental depression

Narrated By Abu Huraira: The Prophet; said, “Indeed, Allah has Ghayrah, and the faithful believer has Ghayrah, and the Ghayrah which Allah has is provoked when a believer commits that which Allah has forbidden.” [al-Bukhari (4925) and Muslim (2761)]

Abdullah ibn Umar reported that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "Three people will not enter paradise and Allah will not look to them on the Day of Judgment: the one who is disobedient to his parents, the woman who imitates men and the ad-Dayooth (cuckold, weak man who feels no jealousy over his womenfolk)..." [Musnad Ahmad (2/134) No. 6180, Musnad al-Bazzar (12/270) No. 6051, al-Sunnan al-Kubra al-Nasa'i (2/63) No. 2354, al-Mu’jam al-Awsat al-Tabarani (3/51) No. 2443]

-you will become a dayooth; a man who doesn’t care if his wife is having an affair
-you do not care if your daughter has a boyfriend or she is downstairs with her boyfriend
-dayooth practices wife swapping
-they are very sinful so they lose their jealousy
-they will never go to paradise
-you have to feel jealous over every Muslim woman, not just your wife and daughter
-you don’t want to see a Muslim sister walking without hijab
-or walking with tight jeans

-e.g. the people of Noah (a.s)
-the people of Lot (a.s)
-the people of Salih (a.s)
-the people of Ad (a.s)

Then they denied him and they killed it. So their Lord destroyed them because of their sin, and made them equal in destruction (i.e. all grades of people, rich and poor, strong and weak, etc.)! (Ash-Shams 91:14)

-all these were destroyed because of their sins

Ibn Al-Qayyim (rh) said: “Allah sometimes gives the earth permission to breathe, which is when major earthquakes occur, and this makes people feel afraid, so they repent, give up sins, pray to Allah and feel regret [for their sins]. Whenever there was an earthquake, some of the salaf (early Muslims) would say: Your Lord is warning you. Also, when Madinah was struck by an earthquake, 'Umar ibn Al-Khattab (RA) addressed the people, saying: If there is another earthquake, I will not stay here with you.”

Narrated Ibn Namir from Abdullah from Naafi‘ from Safiyyah who said: The earth shook at the time of ‘Umar, and he addressed the people and said: “If it happens again, I shall definitely abandon you and leave.” [Ibn Abi Shaybah in al-Musannaf (Vol.2, pg.221) No. 8335 and ibn al-Jawzi in Al-Muntazam fi Tarikh al-Muluk wal-Umam (Vol.4, pg.295)]

-a man asked Aisha (r.a) about earthquakes

Anas (RA) says, “I went into the presence of Aishah (RA) whilst someone else was seated with her. The person asked, ‘O Mother of the believers, relate to us regarding earthquakes (as to their cause)’ She turned her face away. I (Anas) asked her, ‘Relate to us regarding earthquakes, O Mother of the believers!’ She said, “O Anas, if I were to inform you thereof, you will live a sorrowful life and you will die in this state of grief and you will be raised on the Day of Judgement whilst this fear is in your heart.” I said, “O Mother, relate to me.” She then said, “When a woman removes her clothes in a house other than her husbands (an indication towards adultery), she tears the veil between her and Allah. When she applies perfume to please a male other than her husband, this will be a source of fire and a blemish for her. When the people then begin to commit adultery, consume alcohol and use musical instruments, Allah becomes enraged above the heavens and orders the Earth to shake them. If they repent and refrain, then it is good for them, otherwise Allah will cause it to fall upon them.” I asked, “Is this their punishment?” She said, “It is rather a mercy, means of blessings and admonishment for the believers, and a punishment, display of anger and torment for the unbelievers.” [Mustadrak al-Haakim (4/561) No. 8575 and Kitab Al-Fitan (2/619) No. 1729]

-sins cause natural disasters e.g. hurricane Katrina
-New Orleans is called the big easy; anyone can go to bed with any one,
-it was the black magic capital of America and had high rate of murder
-San Francisco is in the pipeline also to be destroyed

You don’t see earthquakes in Makkah and Madina
-the Ka’ba is not being destroyed by natural disasters

In surah Yasin they killed a man for telling them to stop worshipping idols
-he was a leper who the 3 messengers cured
-he became a believer
-he told the people to worship Allah alone and abandon their shirk
-they jumped up and down on him and burned his body
-this story took place in Turkey
-in one blast they all became dead

And put forward to them a similitude; the (story of the) dwellers of the town, [It is said that the town was Antioch (Antakiya)], when there came Messengers to them. (Ya-Sin 36:13)

When We sent to them two Messengers, they belied them both, so We reinforced them with a third, and they said: "Verily! We have been sent to you as Messengers." (Ya-Sin 36:14)

They (people of the town) said: "You are only human beings like ourselves, and the Most Beneficent (Allah) has revealed nothing, you are only telling lies." (Ya-Sin 36:15)

The Messengers said: "Our Lord knows that we have been sent as Messengers to you, (Ya-Sin 36:16)

"And our duty is only to convey plainly (the Message)." (Ya-Sin 36:17)

They (people) said: "For us, we see an evil omen from you, if you cease not, we will surely stone you, and a painful torment will touch you from us." (Ya-Sin 36:18)

They (Messengers) said: "Your evil omens be with you! (Do you call it "evil omen") because you are admonished? Nay, but you are a people Musrifun (transgressing all bounds by committing all kinds of great sins, and by disobeying Allah). (Ya-Sin 36:19)

And there came running from the farthest part of the town, a man, saying: "O my people! Obey the Messengers; (Ya-Sin 36:20)

"Obey those who ask no wages of you (for themselves), and who are rightly guided. (Ya-Sin 36:21)

"And why should I not worship Him (Allah Alone) Who has created me and to Whom you shall be returned. (Ya-Sin 36:22)

"Shall I take besides Him aliha (gods), if the Most Beneficent (Allah) intends me any harm, their intercession will be of no use for me whatsoever, nor can they save me? (Ya-Sin 36:23)

"Then verily, I should be in plain error. (Ya-Sin 36:24)

Verily! I have believed in your Lord, so listen to me!" (Ya-Sin 36:25)

It was said (to him when the disbelievers killed him): "Enter Paradise." He said: "Would that my people knew! (Ya-Sin 36:26)

"That my Lord (Allah) has forgiven me, and made me of the honoured ones!" (Ya-Sin 36:27)
And We sent not against his people after him a host from heaven, nor do We send (such a thing). (Ya-Sin 36:28)

It was but one Saihah (shout, etc.) and lo! They (all) were silent (dead-destroyed). (Ya-Sin 36:29)

-if a person seduces your wife and it is the talk of the town, you are going to kill him
-some kill the woman, the lover and then kill themselves
-when you kill someone the family wants revenge
-it is called a war of attrition

And those who invoke not any other ilah (god) along with Allah, nor kill such life as Allah has forbidden, except for just cause, nor commit illegal sexual intercourse and whoever does this shall receive the punishment. (Al-Furqan 25:68)

-the sincere believers do not make dua to a false deity
-in Pakistan some people prefer to have sex with a cow or a donkey
-than to seduce someone’s daughter
-if you seduce their daughter they are going to kill you
-it is about family honour
-no one will marry the girl after that
-they will say that there is a whore in the family
-if you marry a Palestinian or Jordanian girl and tell her father she was not a virgin,
-he will kill her
-because the honour of the family has been dragged through the gutter

Anas ibn Malik (RA) said: I entered the company of Uthman ibn Affaan (RA) while I was thinking about the beauty of a woman I saw in the street. Uthman (RA) then said: One of you enter my presence and the remnants of zinaa can be seen in his eyes. I then said: Did revelation come down after the departure of the Rasool (SAW)? Uthman said: But this is the deep insight, foresight and intuition of the believer. [Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah, Madaarij as-Saalikeen (Vol. 2, pg. 455)]

-Firaasa means you can look in the face of a man and tell that he is a con artist
-you can look in the face of a person and tell he is committing zina
-a pious Muslim can look in your face and tell something is wrong
-they can look in your face and tell that this woman is a lesbian, that a man is gay

Abu Sa’eed Khudri (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, ‘Guard yourself against a Believer’s insight, for, he sees with the light of Allah.” He then recited: Surely in that are signs for the sagacious. (15:75)
[Sunan Tirmidhi (Vol. 5, pg. 298) No. 3127]

Abu Huraira (RA) narrated the Prophet (SAW) said: "A believer is not bitten from the same hole twice.” [Related by al-Bukhari (6133) and Muslim (2998)]

Anas Ibn Malik narrated the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "A believer is shrewd, sharp and careful." [Quda'ee (d. 454 H) in 'Musnad al-Shihab' (Vol. 1 pg. 107) No. 128]

-when they send you emails about having ten million dollars in the bank
-and say they need $200 to get it, you see through this
-you don’t get conned by this
-did they pass the Skype test?
-they say they are white but are black
-they lie about family members being sick
-trying to con you out of money
-if you buy a diamond ring off of the street, you are a fool

-you fear the enemy not Allah
-or love the dunya and fear dead

On the authority of Abu Sa'id (RA), who said that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "Let not any one of you belittle himself." They said: "O Messenger of Allah, how can any one of us belittle himself?" He said: "He finds a matter concerning Allah about which he should say something, and he does not say [it], so Allah (mighty and sublime be He) says to him on the Day of Resurrection: 'What prevented you from saying something about such-and-such and such-and-such?' He will say: 'It was] out of fear of people.' Then He says: 'Rather it is I whom you should more properly fear.'" [Sunan Ibn Majah (5/142) No. 4008, with a sound chain of authorities.]

On the authority of Thawban the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “All the people of the world will soon summon one another to attack you as people gather around a table when invited to part take of its meal” Someone asked, ‘will that be because of our small numbers at that time?’ He (the Prophet) replied: “No, you will be numerous at that time but you will be scum and rubbish like that carried down by a torrent, and Allah will take fear from the breast of your enemies and cast “wahn” into your hearts”. Someone asked ‘What is “wahn” O Messenger of Allah?’ He replied “Love for the world and dislike of death.” [Sunan Abu Dawud (4/111) No. 4297, Musnad Ahmad (2/359) No. 8698]

-when there are many big bellied Muslims, Islam is on a downward spiral

On seeing a fat man, the Holy Prophet (SAW) said: “If you did not have a paunch (big belly), it would be better for you. He also said: Overeating does not go with good health.” [Musnad Ahmad (4/339) No. 19005, al-Mu'jam al-Kabir al-Tabarani (2/284) No. 2184, Majma al-Zawaid al-Haythami (5/35) No. 7962]

-you live for the sake of your belly and private parts

On the authority of Mujahid that Umar Ibn al-Khattab said: “O people! Beware of obesity caused by food because it makes you lazy from Salah, it makes your body weak and unhealthy, and truly Allah dislikes the obese man. Rather, you should observe modesty (and intent) with regards to your provisions and food, as that is closer to piety, far from excessiveness and strengthens one in worshipping Allah. And a slave will not fall into destruction until his desires become dearer to him than his religion.” [al-Ju' Ibn Abi al-Dunya (pg. 72) No. 81 and al-Tibb al-Nabawi Abu Naeem (1/243-244) No. 127]

عن الحسن، أن عمر بن الخطاب، رضي الله عنه رأى رجلا عظيم البطن فقال: ما هذا؟ قال: بركة من الله، قال: بل عذاب
On the authority of al-Hassan that Umar ibn al-Khattab (RA) saw a man with a big belly and said, “What is this?!” The man replied, “This is Barakah (a blessing) from Allah.” Umar said. “No, it is a punishment from Allah!” [Hadeeth Muhammad bin Abdullah al-Ansari (pg. 52) No. 42, Mu'jam al-Shuyookh al-Subki (pg. 531-532)]

-when you fear Allah the world fears you
-when you don’t fear Allah, no one fears you

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (RA) who said: The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "Allah the Almighty is Good and accepts only that which is good. And verily Allah has commanded the believers to do that which He has commanded the Messengers. So the Almighty has said: "O (you) Messengers! Eat of the tayyibat [all kinds of halal (legal) foods], and perform righteous deeds." [23:51] and the Almighty has said: "O you who believe! Eat of the lawful things that We have provided you." [2:172]" Then he (SAW) mentioned [the case] of a man who, having journeyed far, is dishevelled and dusty, and who spreads out his hands to the sky saying "O Lord! O Lord!," while his food is haram (unlawful), his drink is haram, his clothing is haram, and he has been nourished with haram, so how can [his supplication] be answered? Narrated by Muslim.

‘Abdullah ibn Umar (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, “If anyone drinks wine then his salah over forty days are not approved. If he repents then Allah will relent to him. If he reverts (to it), then Allah will not approve his salah over forty days. If he repents, Allah will relent to him but if he reverts (to it) then Allah will not approve his salah over forty days. If he repents then Allah will relent to him. Again, if he reverts the fourth time, Allah will not approve his salah over forty days and if he repents then Allah will not relent to him and He will give him to drink from the river of Khabal.” Someone asked, “O Abu Abdur Rahman! what is the river of Khabal?’ He said, “The pus of the dwellers of the people of fire.” [Sunan Tirmidhi (4/290) No. 1862, Sunan Nasa'i (8/317) No. 5670, Musnad Ahmad (2/35) No. 4917, al-Mu’jam al-Kabir al-Tabarani (12/390) No. 13441]

-this goes for those who smoke crack cocaine and weed
-every year hundreds die because they are drunk
-weed doesn’t do this
-why ban weed and allow alcohol
-alcohol is far more dangerous than weed
-the white man’s constitution is satanic
-do not say sharia for anything other than Allah’s
-sometimes your salah will not be accepted

-you feel uncomfortable in the company of pious Muslims
-you would want to smoke, talk about formula one
-pious Muslims want to talk about Allah, about the deen
-pious Muslims do not want to hear about the soccer players
-they want to talk about the 10 that were promised paradise
-some of you are so sinful you can only marry Christian girls
-you can’t deal with a pious Muslimah who will wake you for fajr

You (O Muhammad SAW) will not find any people who believe in Allah and the Last Day, making friendship with those who oppose Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad SAW ), even though they were their fathers, or their sons, or their brothers, or their kindred (people). For such He has written Faith in their hearts, and strengthened them with Ruh (proofs, light and true guidance) from Himself. And We will admit them to Gardens (Paradise) under which rivers flow, to dwell therein (forever). Allah is pleased with them, and they with Him. They are the Party of Allah. Verily, it is the Party of Allah that will be the successful. (Al-Mujadilah 58:22)

al-Bara' Ibn 'Azib (RA) narrated the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: ..."The strongest bond of faith is to love for the sake of Allah and hate for the sake of Allah." [Musnad Ahmad (4/286) No. 18547, Shu'ab al-Eman al-Bayhaqi (12/75) No. 9066, Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah (7/80) No. 34338]

-you are so evil you are only compatible with kuffar
-you are not compatible with pious Muslims

-sins affect your aging process
-it accelerates the aging process
-as a Muslim you should look ten years younger than your age

Abu Hurairah (RA) reported: Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "Do you know who the bankrupt is?" They said: "The bankrupt among us is one who has neither money with him nor any property." He said, "The real bankrupt of my Ummah would be he who would come on the Day of Resurrection with Salat, Saum and Sadaqah (charity), (but he will find himself bankrupt on that day as he will have exhausted the good deeds) because he reviled others, brought calumny against others, unlawfully devoured the wealth of others, shed the blood of others and beat others; so his good deeds would be credited to the account of those (who suffered at his hand). If his good deeds fall short to clear the account, their sins would be entered in his account and he would be thrown in the (Hell) Fire." [Sahih Muslim (4/1997) No. 2581]

Abu Huraira (RA) narrated the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “Whoever has wronged his brother with regard to his honour or something, let him ask him for forgiveness before the time when there will be neither dinar nor dirham, and if he has any good deeds it will be taken from him in proportion to the wrong he did, and if he does not have any good deeds (hasanaat), some of the other person's evil deeds (sayi’aat) will be taken and given to him to bear.” [Sahih Bukhari (3/129) No. 2449]

On the authority of 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (RA), who said: The Messenger of Allah (SAW) narrated to us: By Allah, other than whom there is no god, verily one of you behaves like the people of Paradise until there is but an arm's length between him and it, and that which is written overtakes him and so he behaves like the people of the Hell-fire and thus he enters it; and one of you behaves like the people of Hell-fire until there is but an arm's length between him and it, and that which has been written overtakes him and so he behaves like the people of Paradise and thus he enters it. [al-Bukhari (6594) and Muslim (2643)]

-this is the worst effect of evil sins, you will lose all your deeds on the day of judgement
-if you do not have pious deeds to give to the person you harmed
-Allah will take his bad deeds and dump them on you

Abu Huraira narrated the Prophet (SAW) said: “The one who gets married with the intention not to pay dowry to his wife is a fornicator. And the one who borrows money with the intention not to pay back is a thief.” [Ibn Hibban in ‘al-Majruheen’ (2/261) No. 941]

Suhaib al-Khair narrated the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "Any man who takes out a loan, having resolved not to pay it back, will meet Allah as a thief." [Sunan Ibn Majah (3/486) No. 2410]

-the dollar will not help you on that day
-the only currency accepted on that day is your good deeds
-and you will guard your deeds and not give them away freely

That Day shall a man flee from his brother, ('Abasa 80:34)

And from his mother and his father, ('Abasa 80:35)

And from his wife and his children. ('Abasa 80:36)

Everyman, that Day, will have enough to make him careless of others. ('Abasa 80:37)

Did any of the Prophets commit a sin?

-this is a very good question
-the prophet used the word dhamb for Adam (a.s)
-in Bukhari, it is said that Adam remembered his sin

Narrated By Anas: The Prophet said, "On the Day of Resurrection the Believers will assemble and say, 'Let us ask somebody to intercede for us with our Lord.' So they will go to Adam and say, 'You are the father of all the people, and Allah created you with His Own Hands, and ordered the angels to prostrate to you, and taught you the names of all things; so please intercede for us with your Lord, so that He may relieve us from this place of ours.' Adam will say, 'I am not fit for this (i.e. intercession for you).' Then Adam will remember his sin and feel ashamed thereof. He will say, 'Go to Noah, for he was the first Apostle, Allah sent to the inhabitants of the earth.' They will go to him and Noah will say: 'I am not fit for this undertaking.' He will remember his appeal to his Lord to do what he had no knowledge of, then he will feel ashamed thereof and will say, 'Go to the Khalil-r-Rahman (i.e. Abraham).' They will go to him and he will say, 'I am not fit for this undertaking. Go to Moses, the slave to whom Allah spoke (directly) and gave him the Torah.' So they will go to him and he will say, 'I am not fit for this undertaking.' and he will mention (his) killing a person who was not a killer, and so he will feel ashamed thereof before his Lord, and he will say, 'Go to Jesus, Allah's Slave, His Apostle and Allah's Word and a Spirit coming from Him. Jesus will say, 'I am not fit for this undertaking, go to Muhammad the Slave of Allah whose past and future sins were forgiven by Allah.' So they will come to me and I will proceed till I will ask my Lord's Permission and I will be given permission. When I see my Lord, I will fall down in Prostration and He will let me remain in that state as long as He wishes and then I will be addressed.' (Muhammad!) Raise your head. Ask, and your request will be granted; say, and your saying will be listened to; intercede, and your intercession will be accepted.' I will raise my head and praise Allah with a saying (i.e. invocation) He will teach me, and then I will intercede. He will fix a limit for me (to intercede for) whom I will admit into Paradise. Then I will come back again to Allah, and when I see my Lord, the same thing will happen to me. And then I will intercede and Allah will fix a limit for me to intercede whom I will let into Paradise, then I will come back for the third time; and then I will come back for the fourth time, and will say, 'None remains in Hell but those whom the Qur'an has imprisoned (in Hell) and who have been destined to an eternal stay in Hell.' " (The compiler) Abu 'Abdullah said: 'But those whom the Qur'an has imprisoned in Hell,' refers to the Statement of Allah: "They will dwell therein forever." (16.29) [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 6, Book 60, Hadith #003]

-Adam made taubah, if he didn’t sin why did he make taubah?

They said: "Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. If You forgive us not, and bestow not upon us Your Mercy, we shall certainly be of the losers." (Al-A'raf 7:23)

-he begged Allah to forgive him
-only sinners beg for forgiveness

Moses (a.s) killed the man by mistake
-why did Adam obey Iblees?
-because Iblees said *wallahi* and lied
-it didn’t occur to Adam that someone could say wallahi and lie
-so he thought the ruling not to eat from the tree was abrogated
-Adam was tricked by the shaytan

He didn’t realise that someone could be so evil to swear by Allah and lie
-the prophet was infallible
-Allah caused him to make mistakes so you do not worship him
-he made mistakes, not sins

Prophets dont commnit sins that are major

Assalamu alaikum, one of the biggest loses to the Ummah was the loss of the caliphate, what kinds of sins were they committing in those times, I know they dabbled in riba, are there others?

-they did not practice al walaa wal baraa

Whatever of good reaches you, is from Allah, but whatever of evil befalls you, is from yourself. And We have sent you (O Muhammad SAW) as a Messenger to mankind, and Allah is Sufficient as a Witness. (An-Nisa 4:79)

...Verily! Allah will not change the good condition of a people as long as they do not change their state of goodness themselves (by committing sins and by being ungrateful and disobedient to Allah). But when Allah wills a people's punishment, there can be no turning back of it, and they will find besides Him no protector. (Ra'd 13:11)

-Allah will never remove your suffering unless you return to your deen
-if you are enjoying prosperity Allah will never take it away unless you leave your deen
-these are two opposing tafseer but both are accurate
-this is the only ayah in the Quran like this

If a person keeps committing the same sins over and over and also lying about doing these sins and someone is being hurt because of these sins, does he need to seek forgiveness first before making taubah?

-he has to approach the people he hurt and beg them to forgive him
-otherwise Allah will not forgive him
-Allah on the day will take away your good deeds and give them to those you hurt
-on that day a man will run away from his brother, his father, his wife
-everyone will be for themselves
-you will not give your mother one of your Ramadan on that day

And let not those among you who are blessed with graces and wealth swear not to give (any sort of help) to their kinsmen, Al-Masakin (the poor), and those who left their homes for Allah's Cause. Let them pardon and forgive. Do you not love that Allah should forgive you? And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (An-Nur 24:22)

-you don’t forgive a munafiq
-forgive true Muslims

Narrated By Az-Zuhri: I heard 'Urwa bin Az-Zubair, Said bin Al-Musaiyab, 'Alqama bin Waqqas and 'Ubaidullah bin 'Abdullah bin 'Uqba relating from 'Aisha, the wife of the Prophet the narration of the people (i.e. the liars) who spread the slander against her and they said what they said, and how Allah revealed her innocence. Each of them related to me a portion of that narration. (They said that 'Aisha said), ''Then Allah revealed the ten Verses starting with: 'Verily! Those who spread the slander...' (24.11-21) All these verses were in proof of my innocence. Abu Bakr As-Siddiq who used to provide for Mistah some financial aid because of his relation to him, said, "By Allah, I will never give anything (in charity) to Mistah, after what he has said about 'Aisha" Then Allah revealed: 'And let not those among you who are good and are wealthy swear not to give (any sort of help) to their kins men...' (24.22) On that, Abu Bakr said, "Yes, by Allah, I like that Allah should forgive me." and then resumed giving Mistah the aid he used to give him and said, "By Allah! I will never withhold it from him." [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 8, Book 78, Hadith #670]

-otherwise you are putting their hereafter in jeopardy
-a munafiq will be in the bottom of the hellfire
-no reason to forgive him

Assalamu alaikum, how can one use the evil committed to motivate as thinking of my sins make me become melancholy and down?

-mental depression is one of the signs of sins
-the mad houses are filled because of the sins people commit
-to get rid of the sad mood is to give up sins

Assalamu alaikum Shaikh, please describe the etiquette and methodology of making taubah.

In order for your tawbah to be accepted, there are 5 acts

On the authority of Abdullah Ibn Musood the Prophet (SAW) said: “Regret is repentance.” [Musnad Ahmad (1/376) No. 3568 and Sunan Ibn Majah (5/322) No. 4252]

On the authority of Abu Bakr al-Siddeeq (RA) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (SAW) say: “There is no one who commits a sin then purifies himself well and stands and prays two rak’ahs, then asks Allah for forgiveness, but Allah will forgive him. Then he recited this verse: ‘And those who, when they have committed Fahishah (illegal sexual intercourse) or wronged themselves with evil, remember Allah and ask forgiveness for their sins; (and none can forgive sins but Allah) and do not persist in what (wrong) they have done, while they know’ [Aal ‘Imraan 3:135].” [Sunan Abu Dawud (2/86) No. 1521]

- best time to repent is the last 3rd of the night

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (RA), who said that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "Our Lord (glorified and exalted be He) descends each night to the earth's sky when there remains the final third of the night, and He says: 'Who is saying a prayer to Me that I may answer it? Who is asking something of Me that I may give it him? Who is asking forgiveness of Me that I may forgive him?'" [al-Bukhari (7494) (also by Muslim (758), Malik (619), at-Tirmidhi (3498) and Abu Dawud).] In a version by Muslim the Hadith ends with the words: "And thus He continues till [the light of] dawn shines."

Abu Musa narrated the Prophet (SAW) said: “Allah spreads out His hand at night to accept the repentance of those who committed sins during the day, and He spreads out His hand during the day to accept the repentance of those who committed sins during the night. (He will continue to do this) until the sun rises from the West.” [Sahih Muslim (4/2113) No. 2759]

-you have to repent to make taubah
-you need to stop the act
-you need to feel remorse about it
-you need to make two rakat at the late part of the night
-it is better to cry when begging Allah for forgiveness
-you need to make taubah before the sun rises from the west
-you need to beg forgiveness of the person you have hurt

If a person has grey hair isn’t it light on judgement day?

Answer 6:-

There are many ahadith about grey hair and you should not pluck them out
-the older a Muslim gets the closer you are to Allah

- عن عمرو بن شعيب، عن أبيه، عن جده رضي الله عنه، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال‏:‏ ‏"‏لا تنتفوا الشيب؛ فإنه نور المسلم يوم القيامة‏"‏‏.‏ حديث حسن‏.‏ Reported 'Amr bin Shu'aib, on the authority of his father and grandfather that the Prophet (PBUH) said, "Do not pluck out grey hair, for they are the Muslim's light on the Day of Resurrection."[Abu Dawud, At-Tirmidhi and An- Nasa'i].

Assalamu alaikum Sheikh, how do you refute someone who says the Prophet (saws) was Shaheed and therefore he is still alive so you can say Alaika in Tashahud?

Answer 7:

The grave worshippers say 'alaika'

Narrated Ibn Mas'ud Allah's Apostle taught me the Tashah-hud as he taught me a Sura from the Quran, while my hand was between his hands. (Tashah-hud was) all the best compliments and the prayers and the good things are for Allah. Peace and Allah's Mercy and Blessings be on you, O Prophet! Peace be on us and on the pious slaves of Allah, I testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah, and I also testify that Muhammad is Allah's slave and His Apostle. (We used to recite this in the prayer) during the lifetime of the Prophet, but when he had died, we used to say, "Peace be on the Prophet." Bukhari -Volume 8, Book 74, Number 281

-it is easy to refute them
-the first evidence is 3:185

Everyone shall taste death... (Aali Imran 3:185)

Verily, you (O Muhammad SAW) will die and verily, they (too) will die. (Az-Zumar 39:30)

-the other is what Abu Bakr (r.a) recited when the prophet (saw) died

Muhammad (SAW) is no more than a Messenger, and indeed (many) Messengers have passed away before him. If he dies or is killed, will you then turn back on your heels (as disbelievers)? And he who turns back on his heels, not the least harm will he do to Allah, and Allah will give reward to those who are grateful. (Aali Imran 3:144)

-you say to him he went against the ijmaa of the sahabah
-the prophet (saw) was washed and buried
-you want to say he was buried alive?

...Abu Bakr said, "To proceed, if anyone amongst you used to worship Muhammad, then Muhammad is dead, but if (anyone of) you used to worship Allah, then Allah is Alive and shall never die. Allah said: "Muhammad is no more than an Apostle, and indeed (many) apostles have passed away before him...(till the end of the Verse)... Allah will reward to those who are thankful." (3.144) By Allah, it was as if the people never knew that Allah had revealed this Verse before till Abu Bakr recited it and all the people received it from him, and I heard everybody reciting it (then). [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 5, Book 59, Hadith #733]

Abu Huraira narrated that the Prophet said, "On the Day of Resurrection a group of companions will come to me, but will be driven away from the Lake-Fount, and I will say, 'O Lord (those are) my companions!' It will be said, 'You have no knowledge as to what they innovated after you left; they turned apostate as renegades (reverted from Islam)." [Sahih Bukhari (8/120) No. 6585]

-it is true that he died a shaheed because he was poisoned by a Jew
-the dead can hear if you are by their graves
-but they can't hear your dua

If you invoke (or call upon) them, they hear not your call, and if (in case) they were to hear, they could not grant it (your request) to you. And on the Day of Resurrection, they will disown your worshipping them. And none can inform you (O Muhammad SAW) like Him Who is the All-Knower (of each and everything)[]. (Fatir 35:14)

Anas (RA) narrated that the Prophet (SAW) said, "When a human being is laid in his grave and his companions return and he even hears their footsteps, two angels come to him and make him sit and ask him: What did you use to say about this man, Muhammad (SAW)? He will say: I testify that he is Allah's slave and His Messenger. Then it will be said to him, 'Look at your place in the Hell-Fire. Allah has given you a place in Paradise instead of it.'" The Prophet added, "The dead person will see both his places. But a non-believer or a hypocrite will say to the angels, 'I do not know, but I used to say what the people used to say! It will be said to him, 'Neither did you know nor did you take the guidance (by reciting the Qur'an).' Then he will be hit with an iron hammer between his two ears, and he will cry and that cry will be heard by whatever approaches him except human beings and jinns." [al-Bukhari (1338) and Muslim (2870)]

-they can hear the footsteps of those who came to their janazah

If jihad is fard ul ayn, does it take all your sins out on the day of judgement?

Answer 8:-

If the jihad was fard ul ayn all your sins are forgiven

Abu Qatadah narrated : Allah’s Messenger (SAW) stood up before us and said to us, “Jihad in Allah’s cause and belief in Allah are the most excellent of deeds.’ A man stood up and said, “ Messenger of Allah! Do you say that if I am slain in Allah’s path then my sins will be expiated from me?” Allah’s Messenger said, “Yes, if you are slain in Allah’s path and you are patient, hopeful of reward, advancing and not retreating.” After that Allah’s Messenger asked, “What did you ask?” He repeated, “Do you mean that if I am slain in Allah’s path, my sin will be expiated for me?” Allah’s Messenger said, “Yes while you are patient, hopeful of reward, advancing and not retreating, but not in debt (which is not forgiven). Jibril ‘told me that.” [Muslim 1885, Tirmidhi 1718, Ahmed 22648, Nisai 3156]

-but if it is fard ul kifaaya then you need to pay your debt
-before you are allowed to enter paradise
-unless the person truly forgives you for your debt
