By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; (An-Nazi'at 79:1)

By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); (An-Nazi'at 79:2)

And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). (An-Nazi'at 79:3)

And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc.). (An-Nazi'at 79:4)

And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). (An-Nazi'at 79:5)

Allah SWT is swearing by 5 sets of angels in this surah
-whenever a kaffir is going to die the angel of death snatches the soul from him
-this is done very viciously
-this is only 1 angel who does this
-he hands the soul to the other angels who are standing there
-the kuffaar soul has a horrible stench (smell)

When the soul of a believer is taken out,
-it is done with ease and tranquility by the angel of death
-then it is handed over to the other angels and it is wrapped up
-and the smell is wonderful
-and then it is shown to ALLAH and HE says return the soul back to the body in the earth

Allāh will keep firm those who believe, with the word that stands firm in this world (i.e. they will keep on worshipping Allāh Alone and none else), and in the Hereafter. And Allāh will cause to go astray those who are Zālimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.), and Allāh does what He wills. (Ibrahim 14:27)

Allah SWT swears by the angels that float in orbit

1. Gabriel (Jibril a.s)
-He is also called the Holy Spirit

Verily! We have sent it (this Qur'ān) down in the night of Al-Qadr (Decree) (Al-Qadr 97:1)

Therein descend the angels and the Rûh [Jibrael (Gabriel)] by Allāh's Permission with all Decrees, (Al-Qadr 97:4)

The job of Gabriel is to reveal the books to the Prophets
-such as the Torah to Moses, the Injeel to Isa, the Quran to Muhammad (SAW)
-his job is also to punish the wayward with the permission of Allah
-Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed by the angel Gabriel with the commandment of Allah
-the Jews used to hate Gabriel saying he is an informant

"Whoever is an enemy to Allāh, His Angels, His Messengers, Jibrael (Gabriel) and Mikael (Michael), then verily, Allāh is an enemy to the disbelievers." (Al-Baqarah 2:98)

-this ayat 2:98 came down from Allah because of the Jews who hated Gabriel

Say (O Muhammad Peace be upon him ): "Whoever is an enemy to Jibrael (Gabriel) (let him die in his fury), for indeed he has brought it (this Qur'ān) down to your heart by Allāh's Permission, confirming what came before it [i.e. the Taurāt (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] and guidance and glad tidings for the believers. (Al-Baqarah 2:97)

But ALLAH SWT said it was HIM who revealed the Quran to Muhammad, not Gabriel
-so why should the Jews hate the angel Gabriel
-they worshiped the golden calf and went astray

2. Mikael
-he was soft and gentle

3. Israfil
-his job is to blow into the trumpet

4. Malik, the keeper of Hell and he never smiles

Narrated By Abu Huraira: The angel of death was sent to Moses and when he went to him, Moses slapped him severely, spoiling one of his eyes. The angel went back to his Lord, and said, "You sent me to a slave who does not want to die." Allah restored his eye and said, "Go back and tell him (i.e. Moses) to place his hand over the back of an ox, for he will be allowed to live for a number of years equal to the number of hairs coming under his hand." (So the angel came to him and told him the same). Then Moses asked, "O my Lord! What will be then?" He said, "Death will be then." He said, "(Let it be) now." He asked Allah that He bring him near the Sacred Land at a distance of a stone's throw. Allah's Apostle (SAW) said, "Were I there I would show you the grave of Moses by the way near the red sand hill." [al-Bukhari (1339) and Muslim (2372)]

5. Malak al Maut is invisible
-Musa knocked out his eye after slapping him

6. Recording angels (Kiraman Katibeen)

-these 2 angels are recording all your deeds

So whosoever does good equal to the weight of an atom (or a small ant), shall see it. (Az-Zalzalah 99:7)

And whosoever does evil equal to the weight of an atom (or a small ant), shall see it. (Az-Zalzalah 99:8)

7. Munkar and Nakeer are the interrogators in the grave
-they will ask you 1. Who is Lord 2. Who is Your Prophet 3. What is your religion?
-these are the 3 questions asked of everyone in the grave
-if you cannot answer properly, they will hit you in the head with a hammer

8. Ridwaan is the keeper of paradise

9. Haarut and Maarut are the 2 angels who came down in Babylon

They followed what the Shayātin (devils) gave out (falsely of the magic) in the lifetime of Sulaimān (Solomon). Sulaimān did not disbelieve, but the Shayātin (devils) disbelieved, teaching men magic and such things that came down at Babylon to the two angels, Hārût and Mārût, but neither of these two (angels) taught anyone (such things) till they had said, "We are only for trial, so disbelieve not (by learning this magic from us)." ..(Al-Baqarah 2:102)

-they brought knowledge, but the knowledge could be used for good or bad

10. Zabaaniya
-they are 19 in number and they are a fitna for the kuffar
-they are the angels who will dump the people in the hellfire

And We have set none but angels as guardians of the Fire, and We have fixed their number (19) only as a trial for the disbelievers, in order that the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) may arrive at a certainty [that this Qur'ān is the truth as it agrees with their Books i.e. their number (19) is written in the Taurāt (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] and the believers may increase in Faith (as this Qur'ān is the truth) and that no doubts may be left for the people of the Scripture and the believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease (of hypocrisy) and the disbelievers may say: "What Allāh intends by this (curious) example ?" Thus Allāh leads astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none can know the hosts of your Lord but He. And this (Hell) is nothing else than a (warning) reminder to mankind. (Al-Muddaththir 74:31)

-the people of the hellfire thought they would be able to gang up on these 19 angels
-but their strength is not like that of a person

11. The carriers of the Arsh

And the angels will be on its sides, and eight angels will, that Day, bear the Throne of your Lord above them. (Al-Haqqah 69:17)

-these angels are 8 in number
-the soofis think the Arsh is an abstract noun; something you cannot see nor touch

On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), (An-Nazi'at 79:6)

-people will not die when the first trumpet is blown
-they will experience horror, and will be afraid but will not die first

A woman who is pregnant will give birth and abandon her baby
-a nursing woman will also abandon her baby
-only Kuffar will be on the earth on the day when the trumpet is blown
-a man will come from Ethiopia with thin legs to tear down the Ka’ba

Narrated By Ibn Abbas: The Prophet said, "As if I were looking at him, a black person with thin legs plucking the stones of the Ka'ba one after another." [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 2, Book 26, Hadith #665]

The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), (An-Nazi'at 79:7)

When the angel Israfil blows into the trumpet, the earth will shake

Raajifa is the 1st blowing
-Raadifa is the 2nd blowing
-the 2nd blowing - its purpose is for everyone to die
-people will drown in their sweat on the Day of Judgment

(Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. (An-Nazi'at 79:8)

Their eyes cast down. (An-Nazi'at 79:9)

They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? (An-Nazi'at 79:10)

"Even after we are crumbled bones?" (An-Nazi'at 79:11)

They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" (An-Nazi'at 79:12)

-even the kuffar will admit that they are the losers because of what they did in the dunya

And when they embark on a ship, they invoke Allāh, making their Faith pure for Him only, but when He brings them safely to land, behold, they give a share of their worship to others. (Al-'Ankabut 29:65)

Until, when death comes to one of them (those who join partners with Allāh), he says: "My Lord! Send me back, (Al-Mu'minun 23:99)

"So that I may do good in that which I have left behind!" No! It is but a word that he speaks, and behind them is Barzakh (a barrier) until the Day when they will be resurrected. (Al-Mu'minun 23:100)

Kaffirs like to make empty promises
-they are very good at it
-they will even try to pull a stunt on Allah on the Day of Judgement

But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). (An-Nazi'at 79:13)

Many people believe that the trumpet will be blown only 2 times
-but this is not true, it is actually 3 times
-the last blowing: Zajrah

When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, (An-Nazi'at 79:14)

-1st blowing: Cause horror and terror,
-2nd blowing: cause death,
-3rd blowing: cause resurrection

Has there come to you the story of Mûsa (Moses)? (An-Nazi'at 79:15)

When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tûwa, (An-Nazi'at 79:16)

Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). (An-Nazi'at 79:17)

They said: "Our Lord! Verily! We fear lest he should hasten to punish us or lest he should transgress (all bounds against us)." (Ta-Ha 20:45)

-Allah said Musa was afraid of Fir’aun (The Pharaoh), both him and his brother

And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", (An-Nazi'at 79:18)

And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? (An-Nazi'at 79:19)

Then [Mûsa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). (An-Nazi'at 79:20)

But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; (An-Nazi'at 79:21)

Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allāh). (An-Nazi'at 79:22)

Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, (An-Nazi'at 79:23)

Saying: "I am your lord, most high", (An-Nazi'at 79:24)

These are personality disorders
-there are people today who follow the Pharaoh, they have a god complex
-to call a country a "super power" is shirk

The wicked scholars will die as kuffar
-they will never make taubah, they would rather die as kuffar

So Allāh, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. (An-Nazi'at 79:25)

Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allāh. (An-Nazi'at 79:26)

Whenever Allah wants to create something, HE simply says, "Kun fa yakun" Be and it is.

Are you more difficult to create, or is the heaven that He constructed? (An-Nazi'at 79:27)

He raised its height, and He has equally ordered it, (An-Nazi'at 79:28)

Its night He covers with darkness, and its forenoon He brings out (with light). (An-Nazi'at 79:29)

And after that He spread the earth; (An-Nazi'at 79:30)

And brought forth therefrom its water and its pasture; (An-Nazi'at 79:31)

And the mountains He has fixed firmly; (An-Nazi'at 79:32)

-the mountains are pegs that Allah put on the earth

(To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle. (An-Nazi'at 79:33)

-don't be ungrateful to Allah, be thankful for the rain that comes down from the sky
-the worst transgression is shirk

But when there comes the greatest catastrophe (i.e. the Day of Recompense, etc.), (An-Nazi'at 79:34)

The Day when man shall remember what he strove for, (An-Nazi'at 79:35)

And Hell-fire shall be made apparent in full view for (every) one who sees, (An-Nazi'at 79:36)

"Allah the Almighty has said: 'O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me, and hope in Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds in the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I shall forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with an earthful of sins and were you then to face Me, without having associated anything with Me, I shall grant you an earthful of pardon.'" (At-Tirmidhi)

Then, for him who Taghā (transgressed all bounds, in disbelief, oppression and evil deeds of disobedience to Allāh). (An-Nazi'at 79:37)

And preferred the life of this world (by following his evil desires and lusts), (An-Nazi'at 79:38)

-when you chase the dunya, it takes you away from your deen

The mutual rivalry for piling up of worldly things diverts you, (At-Takathur 102:1)

Until you visit the graves (i.e. till you die). (At-Takathur 102:2)

Ali (RA) narrated: We did not cease to doubt punishment in the grave till the surah was revealed: Your rivalry in the accumulation of wealth diverts your minds. (102:1 etc.) [Sunan Tirmidhi (Vol. 5 pg. 447) No. 3355]

Verily, his abode will be Hell-fire; (An-Nazi'at 79:39)

But as for him who feared standing before his Lord, and restrained himself from impure evil desires, and lusts. (An-Nazi'at 79:40)

Verily, Paradise will be his abode. (An-Nazi'at 79:41)

They ask you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) about the Hour, - when will be its appointed time? (An-Nazi'at 79:42)

-people asked Isa (a.s) when Judgement day will be and he said he did not himself know
-so how can the Christians believe Jesus is God?

But of that day and hour knoweth no [man], no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. (Matthew 24:36) King James Version

You have no knowledge to say anything about it, (An-Nazi'at 79:43)

To your Lord belongs (the knowledge of) the term thereof? (An-Nazi'at 79:44)

You (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) are only a warner for those who fear it, (An-Nazi'at 79:45)

The Day they see it, (it will be) as if they had not tarried (in this world) except an afternoon or a morning. (An-Nazi'at 79:46)
