DARS 5

After Allah (SWT) quelled the mutiny of Qarun by making Qarun to be swallowed by the earth, the pharaoh had another meeting with his ministers.

The pharaoh said; let us kill Musa (AS).

Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Leave me to kill Musa (Moses), and let him call his Lord (to stop me from killing him)! I fear that he may change your religion, or that he may cause mischief to appear in the land!" Musa (Moses) said: "Verily, I seek refuge in my Lord and your Lord from every arrogant who believes not in the Day of Reckoning!" And a believing man of Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) family, who hid his faith said: "Would you kill a man because he says: My Lord is Allah, and he has come to you with clear signs (proofs) from your Lord? And if he is a liar, upon him will be (the sin of) his lie; but if he is telling the truth, then some of that (calamity) wherewith he threatens you will befall on you. "Verily, Allah guides not one who is a Musrif (a polytheist, or a murderer who shed blood without a right, or those who commit great sins, oppressor, transgressor), a liar!

(Ghafir 40: 26-28)

When pharaoh said this, a man who was a believer hiding his imaan, he was practising taqiyyah (hiding his imaan for fear of persecution)

Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Leave me to kill Musa (Moses), and let him call his Lord (to stop me from killing him)! I fear that he may change your religion, or that he may cause mischief to appear in the land!" Musa (Moses) said: "Verily, I seek refuge in my Lord and your Lord from every arrogant who believes not in the Day of Reckoning!"
And a believing man of Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) family, who hid his faith said: "Would you kill a man because he says: My Lord is Allah, and he has come to you with clear signs (proofs) from your Lord? And if he is a liar, upon him will be (the sin of) his lie; but if he is telling the truth, then some of that (calamity) wherewith he threatens you will befall on you." Verily, Allah guides not one who is a Musrif (a polytheist, or a murderer who shed blood without a right, or those who commit great sins, oppressor, transgressor), a liar!

(Ghafir 40:26-28)

Prophet Musa (AS) told the pharaoh to let the children of Israel go, but pharaohs refused saying these are his slaves.

"Am I not better than this one [Musa (Moses)], who is Mahin [has no honour nor any respect, and is weak and despicable] and can scarcely express himself clearly?
"Why then are not golden bracelets bestowed on him, or angels sent along with him?"

(Az-Zukhruf 43:52-53)

When the pressure came down to the pharaoh about letting the children of Israel go, he was a good speaker and mentioned how he took care of the needs of the people and he used prophet Musa's (AS) lack of wealth and speech impediment against prophet Musa (AS).

When prophet Musa (AS) was a child, he had an accident, which caused him a speech impediment.

Pharaoh said he provided all the needs of his people, food, water, shelter etc whereas prophet Musa (AS) had no wealth or anything.

Thus, he [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] befooled and misled his people, and they obeyed him. Verily, they were ever a people who were Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah).

(Az-Zukhruf 43:54)

The first thing people thing about is their bellies when they are asked to make hijrah from darul harb

So because of this the pharaoh appealed to the people asking them, who will provide for you when you are in the desert out there?

The people were hesitant in making hijrah because of what the pharaoh said to them.
ALLAH (SWT) BLESSED PROPHET MUSA (AS) WITH NINE MIRACLES

#1 THE ROD THAT TURNED INTO A SNAKE

#2 THE RADIANT HAND

#3 THE FAMINE - CROPS FAILING

#4 THE FLOOD

This large flood enveloped Egypt.

Every time they faced a calamity, they begged Musa (AS) to ask Allah (SWT) to remove the calamity.

When this was removed, they went back on their promise.

#5 HUMAN AND ANIMAL PANDEMIC

#6 THE LOCUSTS

#7 LICE

#8 FROGS

#9 RIVER NILE TURNED TO BLOOD

Allah (SWT) made mention of all these signs in the above quoted verses

And indeed We punished the people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) with years of drought and shortness of fruits (crops, etc.), that they might remember (take heed). But whenever good came to them, they said: "Ours is this." And if evil afflicted them, they ascribed it to evil omens connected with Musa (Moses) and those with him. Be informed! Verily, their evil omens are with Allah but most of them know not. They said [to Musa (Moses)]: "Whatever Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) you may bring to us, to work therewith your sorcery on us, we shall never believe in you."

(Al-A'raf 7:130-132)

So We sent on them: the flood, the locusts, the lice, the frogs, and the blood: (as a succession of) manifest signs, yet they remained arrogant, and they were of those people who were Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners, etc.). And when the punishment fell on them they said: "O Musa (Moses)! Invoke your Lord for us because of His Promise to you. If you will remove the punishment from us, we indeed shall believe in you, and we shall let the Children of Israel go with you." But when We removed the punishment from them to a fixed term, which they had to reach, behold! They broke their word!

(Al-A'raf 7:133-135)

Kaafirs will always go back on their word, the pharaoh did it and they do so even today.

They went against Geneva convention, as collective punishment goes against Geneva convention, but the kaafir continue to do this.

Allah (SWT) decided to put an end to the tyranny of the pharaoh.

There was a feast outside the city, so the pharaoh gave the children of Israel permission to go there.

This is where Musa (AS) decided to make his move.

Prophet Musa (AS) said, we will use the festival as a means to make our escape.

They borrowed the jewellery of the Egyptians. this was because Egypt was darul harb.

This escape from the pharaoh is famously known as the EXODUS.

Musa (AS) made his move in the darkness of the night, heading towards the red sea.

In the morning at fajr time, they reached the beach.

When the pharaoh learned of the escape, he pursued them with a huge army.

Joshua bin Nun said the sea is in front of us and our enemy is behind us, so death is inevitable.

Musa (AS) said, don't worry, Allah (SWT) will guide me.

Allah (SWT) instructed Musa (AS) to strike the sea with his stick and the sea parted into two gigantic mountains, leaving the middle passage free of water. so the children of Israel crossed the Red Sea.

When the pharaoh saw the sea parted, he lied to his soldiers. He said he was the one who told the sea to part and the sea obeyed him.

He told his soldiers to rush across the sea, but when the pharaoh and his army were mid way across the sea, Allah (SWT) commanded the sea to go back to its original state.

Allah (SWT) told the sea to envelop the pharaoh, and so the pharaoh became terror-stricken and realised that his demise was inevitable.

When he knew he was going to die, the pharaoh took his shahada.

And We took the Children of Israel across the sea, and Fir'aun (Pharaoh) with his hosts followed them in oppression and enmity, till when drowning overtook him, he said: "I believe that La ilaha illa (Huwa): (none has the right to be worshipped but) He," in Whom the Children of Israel believe, and I am one of the Muslims (those who submit to Allah's Will)." Now (you believe) while you refused to believe before and you were one of the Mufsidun (evildoers, corrupts, etc.). So this day We shall deliver your (dead) body (out from the sea) that you may be a sign to those who come after you! And verily, many among mankind are heedless of Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.).

(Yunus 10:91-92)

Allah (SWT) was asking the pharaoh, now you believe because you are about to die, but before when the nine signs were shown to you, you were arrogant and did not believe.

So Allah (SWT) did not accept pharaoh's shahada and threw it back at him like a dirty rag, because the pharaoh was an opportunist and a waste of space.

The body of the pharaoh remained at the bottom of the sea floor for many hundreds of years until the 1800's when it resurfaced intact.

The body of pharaoh was buried under the sea for 3000 years. fishes did not eat his body, even though fishes eat everything and his bones should have dissolved into the sand, but Allah (SWT) did not make this happen as Allah (SWT) promised to preserve the body of the pharaoh.

The preservation of the body of the pharaoh is a scientific fact from the Quran.

So they pursued them at sunrise. And when the two hosts saw each other, the companions of Musa (Moses) said: "We are sure to be overtaken." [Musa (Moses)] said: "Nay, verily! With me is my Lord, He will guide me." Then We inspired Musa (Moses) (saying): "Strike the sea with your stick." And it parted, and each separate part (of that seawater) became like the huge, firm mass of a mountain. Then We brought near the others [Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) party] to that place. And We saved Musa (Moses) and all those with him. Then We drowned the others. Verily! In this is indeed a sign (or a proof), yet most of them are not believers.

(Ash-Shu'ara 26:60-67)

The demise of the pharaoh mentioned in the Quran was the dream of pharaoh coming to pass.

Pharaoh killed thousands of boys to change the Qadr of Allah (SWT).
But it is only dua that can change Qadr.

"Nothing could change the Qadar except Du`a’."

(Musnad Ahmad, Vol. 5, Hadith no. 277; Sunan At-Tirmidhi, Vol. 3, Hadith no. 139)

Even though the pharaoh was now dead, the evil the pharaoh imposed on the children of Israel impacted upon them negatively, psychologically, emotionally, mentally etc.

and spiritually, economically and financially.

This was the slavery they were subjected to.

When they were with Musa (AS) travelling, they saw the people of the town worshipping idols.

Musa (AS) thought they now had imaan since they saw the sea split and they saw the pharaoh die before their very eyes. But to his surprise, they asked Musa (AS) to give him idols like the ones the people of the town were worshipping.

And We brought the Children of Israel (with safety) across the sea, and they came upon a people devoted to some of their idols (in worship). They said: "O Musa (Moses)! Make for us an ilahan (a god) as they have aliha (gods)." He said: "Verily, you are a people who know not (the Majesty and Greatness of Allah and what is obligatory upon you, i.e. to worship none but Allah Alone, the One and the Only God of all that exists)." [Musa (Moses) added:] "Verily, these people will be destroyed for that which they are engaged in (idols-worship). And all that they are doing is in vain." He said: "Shall I seek for you an Ilahan (a God) other than Allah, while He has given you superiority over the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns of your time)."

(Al-A'raf 7:138-140)

Why did the children of Israel want idols?

These children of Israel were in Egypt for hundred of years, and Egypt was full of idolatry and paganism, so when the children of Israel went past the town where people were worshipping idols made them remember the paganism that took place in Egypt.

It might take many generations to get over this paganism; paganism was an integral part of the slavery.

Black people, their state is pathetic like these Jews. the white man gave them Christianity, pork, Christmas etc. it will take these black people many generations to get them away/free from this pathetic state.

This is how evil slavery is; the evil remnants of slavery linger on for many decades and centuries.

The black culture is very evil, so if a father says he will not marry his daughter to a black person; it does not mean he is a racist.

With slavery you lose your religiosity, identity etc and a lot of black reverts still have these negative aspects. i.e. Khalid yaseen is someone who rips off Muslims from all over the world.

{Khalid Ya Sin}

When the children of Israel were in the desert and became thirsty, Allah (SWT) commanded Musa (AS) to strike a rock and 12 streams of water gushed forth.

And (remember) when Musa (Moses) asked for water for his people, We said: "Strike the stone with your stick." Then gushed forth there from twelve springs. Each (group of) people knew its own place for water. "Eat and drink of that which Allah has provided and do not act corruptly, making mischief on the earth."

(Al-Baqarah 2:60)

Why did Allah (SWT) allow this? it was because within the children of Israel, there was tribalism; there was 12 different tribe, which descended from the 12 children of prophet Jacob.

Allah (SWT) made the clouds as umbrellas to shade the children of Israel when they were in the desert and gave them manna and quails to eat.

And We shaded you with clouds and sent down on you Al-Manna and the quails, (saying) : "Eat of the good lawful things We have provided for you," (but they rebelled). And they did not wrong Us but they wronged themselves.

(Al-Baqarah 2:57)

And (remember) when you said, "O Musa (Moses)! We cannot endure one kind of food. So invoke your Lord for us to bring forth for us of what the earth grows, its herbs, its cucumbers, its Fum (wheat or garlic), its lentils and its onions." He said, "Would you exchange that which is better for that which is lower? Go you down to any town and you shall find what you want!" And they were covered with humiliation and misery, and they drew on themselves the Wrath of Allah. That was because they used to disbelieve the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah and killed the Prophets wrongfully. That was because they disobeyed and used to transgress the bounds (in their disobedience to Allah, i.e. commit crimes and sins).

(Al-Baqarah 2:61)

The mean spirited ones from the children of Israel tried to cause a mutiny complaining we cannot keep eating the same food everyday, we want onions, lentils which was the food the pharaoh used to give them.

Musa (AS) told them do you want to replace food that is heavenly (better) with food that is from the earth (worse).

Allah (SWT) told the children of Israel to go to Canaan to fight the Canaanites and Hittites because they are pagans.

Musa (AS) had 600,000 men to go fight jihad but they said to him, you and your Lord go and fight. this was due to lack of taqwa and no imaan. slavery gives you low self-esteem.

Only two men agreed to fight.

Narrated By Abdullah (bin Masud): On the day of Badr, Al-Miqdad said, "O Allah's Apostle! We do not say to you as the children of Israel said to Moses, 'Go you and your Lord and fight you two; we are sitting here, (5.24) but (we say). "Proceed, and we are with you." That seemed to delight Allah's Apostle greatly.

[Sahih Bukhari, Vol 6, Book 60, Hadith #133]

And (remember) when Musa (Moses) said to his people: "O my people! Remember the Favour of Allah to you, when He made Prophets among you, made you kings, and gave you what He had not given to any other among the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns, in the past)." "O my people! Enter the holy land (Palestine) which Allah has assigned to you, and turn not back (in flight) for then you will be returned as losers." They said: "O Musa (Moses)! In it (this holy land) are a people of great strength, and we shall never enter it, till they leave it; when they leave, then we will enter." two men of those who feared (Allah and) on whom Allah had bestowed His Grace [they were يوشع و كالب Yusha' (Joshua) and Kalab (Caleb)] said: "Assault them through the gate, for when you are in, victory will be yours, and put your trust in Allah if you are believers indeed." They said: "O Musa (Moses)! We shall never enter it as long as they are there. So go you and your Lord and fight you two, we are sitting right here."

(Al-Ma'idah 5:20-24)

He [Musa (Moses)] said: "O my Lord! I have power only over myself and my brother, so separate us from the people who are the Fasiqun (rebellious and disobedient to Allah)!" (Allah) said: "Therefore it (this holy land) is forbidden to them for forty years; in distraction they will wander through the land. So be not sorrowful over the people who are the Fasiqun (rebellious and disobedient to Allah)."

(Al-Ma'idah 5:25-26)

The two men who were willing to fight jihad. So the Jews became cursed and began wandering without a homeland until the day of judgement.

LESSONS #69 SOMETIMES PEOPLE HIDE THEIR IMAAN FOR FEAR OF REPRISAL

People keep their faith hidden in case they get persecuted.

(Ghafir 40:28)

LESSON #70 THE TAGHOOT USE WEALTH AS HUJJAH THAT THEIR WAY OF LIFE IS BETTER

"Am I not better than this one [Musa (Moses)], who is Mahin [has no honour nor any respect, and is weak and despicable] and can scarcely express himself clearly? "Why then are not golden bracelets bestowed on him, or angels sent along with him?"

(Az-Zukhruf 43:52-53)

Abu Musa Ash’ari reported that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, “Wearing silk and gold is forbidden to the men of my Ummah. But (they are) allowed to their women.”

[Sunan Tirmidhi (4/217) No. 1720, Sunan An-Nasa'i (8/U161) 5148]

LESSON #71 PEOPLE OF WEAK IMAAN CANNOT DO HIJRAH

Thus he [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] befooled and misled his people, and they obeyed him. Verily, they were ever a people who were Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah).

(Az-Zukhruf 43:54)

LESSON #72 THE PHARAOH WAS VERY HARD HEARTED

He did not take heed to the nine signs of Musa (AS)

LESSON #73 THE KUFFAR WILL BREAK THEIR PROMISE TO ALLAH (SWT)

Pharaoh asked Musa (AS) to ask Allah (SWT) to remove affliction, but when this was removed pharaoh broke his promise.

(Al-A'raf 7:134-135)

LESSON #74 THE JEWS ARE VERY UNGRATEFUL

They complained about the food of jannah and they ran after the food of the earth.

LESSON #75 SLAVERY DESTROYS A PERSON

Slavery destroys a person mentally, socially, morally and spiritually.

LESSON #76 TO WORSHIP FALSE DEITIES PREPONDERATES IN THE PSYCHE OF THE JEW

And We brought the Children of Israel (with safety) across the sea, and they came upon a people devoted to some of their idols (in worship). They said: "O Musa (Moses)! Make for us an ilahan (a god) as they have aliha (gods)." He said: "Verily, you are a people who know not (the Majesty and Greatness of Allah and what is obligatory upon you, i.e. to worship none but Allah Alone, the One and the Only God of all that exists)."

(Al-A'raf 7:138)

LESSON #77 THE TAGHOOT LIKES CHEAP LABOUR

Pharaoh was in hot dispute of the children of Israel because they were cheap labour

Even after seeing the nine signs of prophet Musa (AS), he refused to let the children of Israel go free.

LESSON#78 ALLAH (SWT) COMMANDS THE SEA, WIND, NATURE, SUN, MOON, STARS ETC TO DO WHATEVER HE WANTS

Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the dominion, and He is Able to do all things. (Al-Mulk 67:1)

LESSON #79 KUFFAR ARE OPPORTUNISTS

The pharaoh only took his shahada after seeing that he was about to die.

And We took the Children of Israel across the sea, and Fir'aun (Pharaoh) with his hosts followed them in oppression and enmity, till when drowning overtook him, he said: "I believe that La ilaha illa (Huwa) : (none has the right to be worshipped but) He," in Whom the Children of Israel believe, and I am one of the Muslims (those who submit to Allah's Will)." Now (you believe) while you refused to believe before and you were one of the Mufsidun (evildoers, corrupts, etc.). So this day We shall deliver your (dead) body (out from the sea) that you may be a sign to those who come after you! And verily, many among mankind are heedless of Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs , revelations, etc.).

(Yunus 10:90-92)

LESSON #80 THE JEWS WERE SUFFERING FROM STOCKHOLM SYNDROME

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stockholm_syndrome

This is when you admire and be like your oppressor.

This is the state of the black people who want to be like the white people.

THE STORY OF PROPHET
MUSA (AS)

JEWS ARE MU'TAZILITES

DARS 6

Allah (SWT) told Musa (AS) to fast for 30 days as a form of purification before going to Mount Sinai to meet his Lord.

After Allah (SWT) drowned the Pharaoh and rescued the children of Israel, Moses (AS) was commanded to fast for 30 days.

After which he broke his fast with a sweet smelling plant.

Allah (SWT) asked him why he broke his fast.

He said he wanted to speak to Allah (SWT) with a sweet breath.

He was told the breath of a fasting person is sweeter.

Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "If it was not for the fact that I might have been overburdening my community - or the people - I would have ordered them to use the siwak for every prayer."

[Al-Bukhari (887) and Muslim (252)]

Musa (AS) broke his breath after 30 days because he did not want to go with a bad breath.

Allah (SWT) commanded him to fast another 10 days, making it 40 days.

Allah (SWT) spoke about this in Surah 7:142-145.

And We appointed for Musa (Moses) thirty nights and added (to the period) ten (more), and he completed the term, appointed by his Lord, of forty nights. And Musa (Moses) said to his brother Harun (Aaron) : "Replace me among my people, act in the Right Way (by ordering the people to obey Allah and to worship Him Alone) and follow not the way of the Mufsidun (mischief-makers)." And when Musa (Moses) came at the time and place appointed by Us, and his Lord spoke to him, he said: "O my Lord! Show me (Yourself), that I may look upon You." Allah said: "You cannot see Me, but look upon the mountain if it stands still in its place then you shall see Me. " So when his Lord appeared to the mountain[], He made it collapse to dust, and Musa (Moses) fell down unconscious. Then when he recovered his senses, he said: "Glory be to You, I turn to You in repentance and I am the first of the believers."

(Al-A'raf 7:142-143)

(Allah) said: "O Musa (Moses) I have chosen you above men by My Messages, and by My speaking (to you). So hold that which I have given you and be of the grateful." And We wrote for him on the Tablets the lesson to be drawn from all things and the explanation of all things (and said) : Hold unto these with firmness, and enjoin your people to take the better therein. I shall show you the home of Al-Fasiqun (the rebellious, disobedient to Allah).

(Al-A'raf 7:144-145)

Allah (SWT) spoke to Musa (AS). Musa (AS) asked to see Allah (SWT) but Allah (SWT) said you cannot see Me.

On Judgment Day, we will be resurrected unconscious; the first person to regain consciousness will be the prophet Muhammad (SAW).

Narrated Abu Said: The Prophet said, 'People will be struck unconscious on the Day of Resurrection and I will be the first to regain consciousness, and behold! There I will see Moses holding one of the pillars of Allah's Throne. I will wonder whether he has become conscious before me of he has been exempted, because of his
unconsciousness at the Tur (mountain) which he received (on the earth)."

[Sahih Bukhari (4/153) No. 3398]

Musa (AS) will not be resurrected conscious.

Musa (AS) fell down unconscious when Allah (SWT) exposed Himself to the mountain and it disintegrated.

This is why he will be exempted from being resurrected unconscious.

Musa (AS) was supposed to return after 30 nights.

The children of Israel did not know about the extra 10 nights.

So when he did not return after 30 nights, they were grumbling and saying Musa (AS) broke his promise.

Say (O Muhammad SAW) : "Come, I will recite what your Lord has prohibited you from: Join not anything in worship with Him; be good and dutiful to your parents; kill not your children because of poverty - We provide sustenance for you and for them; come not near to Al-Fawahish (shameful sins, illegal sexual intercourse, etc.) whether committed openly or secretly, and kill not anyone whom Allah has forbidden, except for a just cause (according to Islamic law). This He has commanded you that you may understand. "And come not near to the orphan's property, except to improve it, until he (or she) attains the age of full strength; and give full measure and full weight with justice. We burden not any person, but that which he can bear. And whenever you give your word (i.e. judge between men or give evidence, etc.), say the truth even if a near relative is concerned, and fulfil the Covenant of Allah, This He commands you that you may remember.

(Al-An'am 6:151-152)

The scholars of Islam said the above-mentioned verses are the commandments Musa (AS) received.

The only thing that seems to be left out that the Christians keep going on about is the Sabbath day.

We don't believe in the Sabbath; we are Muslims. You can open your shop on Saturday.

When Musa didn't come back after 30 days, the children of Israel were unsettled and grumbling that Musa (AS) broke his promise.

Samiri, a man with a mean evil spirit, suggested that they find a new god and a new religion since Musa (AS) broke his promise.

So they melted gold and made the calf.

Some of the Jews worshipped the calf and others didn't.

Harun (AS) was left as the deputy of Musa (AS).

Harun (AS) spoke out against the worshipping of the calf.

They told him if he tried to stop them, they'd kill him.

How can one man stop all of them?

He condemned the shirk with his tongue.

When Harun (AS) told them to stop worshipping the golden calf, they told him they are prepared to stop worshipping it if Musa (AS) returns to us.

The Jews who didn't worship the calf excommunicated those who worshipped it.

They made baraa from those who became pagans.

The Samiri found it easy to lead the children of Israel to worship the golden calf.

Then, after that, your hearts were hardened and became as stones or even worse in hardness. And indeed, there are stones out of which rivers gush forth, and indeed, there are of them (stones) which split asunder so that water flows from them, and indeed, there are of them (stones) which fall down for fear of Allah. And Allah is not unaware of what you do.

(Al-Baqarah 2:74)

For them to worship the golden calf after seeing many miracles, it means they were very hard hearted.

Allah (SWT) spoke about hard heartedness in the above-mentioned ayah.

When Musa (AS) returned from Mount Sinai with the ten commandments, on a sacred tablet, he saw the Jews singing and dancing around the golden calf.

He became very upset and threw down the tablet.

You might be thinking how a prophet of God can throw the tablet on the ground.

That's like throwing the Quran on the ground.
The scholars gave the reason why Musa threw the tablet on the ground.

The first commandment on the tablet was to not worship any god besides Allah (SWT).

That was the first commandment.

When he came back, he saw his people worshipping the golden calf.

They broke the first commandment after witnessing his nine signs.

And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all? And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

(MARK 12:28-29 King James Version)

They saw more than nine signs.

Musa (AS) got fed up after seeing what his people were doing and gave up on them.

They were breaking all the commandments.

This is why he threw the tablet down.

He thought these people were useless and they would never be able to live by the commandments.

Even prophets have emotions.

Musa (AS) became so angry, he grabbed Harun (AS) by the beard.

He took his anger out on Harun.

Why didn't Harun (AS) prevent them from going astray? Why didn't he prevent them from worshipping the golden calf?

Harun (AS) said he was weak and they were about to kill him.

Harun (AS) tried his best and he spoke out against the shirk and condemned it with his tongue.

He could not stop it with his hand because he was only one man against 600,000 men.

On the authority of Abu Sa’eed al-Khudree (RA) who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (SAW) say, “Whosoever of you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand; and if he is not able to do so, then [let him change it] with his tongue; and if he is not able to do so, then with his heart — and that is the weakest of faith.”

[Sahih Muslim (1/69) No. 49, Musnad Ahmad (3/10) No. 11088, Sunan Ibn Majah (5/145) No. 4013, Sunan Tirmidhi (4/469) No. 2172, Sunan Abu Dawud (1/296) No. 1140, Sunan al-Nasa'i (8/112) No. 5009]

Harun (AS) was powerless to stop them from worshipping the calf because he was only one man.

Even the Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) had people to help him do Jihad.

They said: "We broke not the promise to you, of our own will, but we were made to carry the weight of the ornaments of the [Fir'aun's (Pharaoh)] people, then we cast them (into the fire), and that was what As-Samiri suggested." Then he took out (of the fire) for them a statue of a calf which seemed to low. They said: "This is your ilah (god), and the ilah (god) of Musa (Moses), but [Musa (Moses)] has forgotten (his god).'" Did they not see that it could not return them a word (for answer), and that it had no power either to harm them or to do them good? And Harun (Aaron) indeed had said to them beforehand: "O my people! You are being tried in this, and verily, your Lord is (Allah) the Most Beneficent, so follow me and obey my order." They said: "We will not stop worshipping it (i.e. the calf), until Musa (Moses) returns to us."

(Ta-Ha 20:87-91)

They gave an ultimatum saying they will never stop worshipping the calf unless Musa (AS) returns to them.

Verily, Allah forgives not that partners should be set up with him in worship, but He forgives except that (anything else) to whom He pleases, and whoever sets up partners with Allah in worship, he has indeed invented a tremendous sin.

(An-Nisa 4:48)

The punishment of the Jews who became pagans by worshipping the calf was death.

And (remember) when Musa (Moses) said to his people: "O my people! Verily, you have wronged yourselves by worshipping the calf. So turn in repentance to your Creator and kill yourselves (the innocent kill the wrongdoers among you), that will be better for you with your Lord." Then He accepted your repentance. Truly, He is the One Who accepts repentance, the Most Merciful.

(Al-Baqarah 2:54)

The punishment of the one who does sihr (magic) is also one strike of the sword.

Jundub (RA) reported that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “The hadd (prescribed punishment) for the practitioner of magic is a blow with the sword (i.e., execution)"

[Sunan Tirmidhi (4/60) No. 1460, Sunan al-Daraqutni (4/120) No. 3204, Mustadrak al-Haakim (4/401) No. 8073, al-Sunan al-Kabir al-Bayhaqi (8/234) No. 16500, al-Mu'jam al-Kabir al-Tabarani (2/161) No. 1665]

The Jews who remained steadfast on Tawheed had to chop off the heads of those who worshipped the calf.

The tawbah of those who repented from worshipping the calf was accepted because their punishment was to be killed.

Magicians are killed because they claim to have powers only Allah (SWT) has.

Those who worshipped the calf had to be killed if they wanted Allah (SWT) to accept their repentance.

Musa (AS) returned to Mount Sinai and 70 of the elite went with him.

When they were on Mount Sina, they heard Allah (SWT) speaking to Musa (AS). These men said they would not believe until they see Allah (SWT) with their naked eyes.

When they said that, Allah (SWT) killed them with lightning.

And (remember) when you said: "O Musa (Moses)! We shall never believe in you till we see Allah plainly." But you were seized with a thunderbolt (lightning) while you were looking. Then We raised you up after your death, so that you might be grateful.

(Al-Baqarah 2:55-56)

Musa (AS) cried and said O Allah (SWT), these are the elite of Bani Israel, if they are taken away what will become of bani Israel?

Musa (AS) begged Allah (SWT) and Allah (SWT) gave them life again.

Allah (SWT) raised them back to life because Musa (AS) cried.

These were the best of his ummah.

This was a weak ummah.

What were the rest of them like?

The elite of the ummah had imaan issues.

They allowed their imaan to be contaminated with doubts.

You [true believers in Islamic Monotheism, and real followers of Prophet Muhammad SAW and his Sunnah (legal ways, etc.)] are the best of peoples ever raised up for mankind; you enjoin Al-Ma'ruf (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam has ordained) and forbid Al-Munkar (polytheism, disbelief and all that Islam has forbidden), and you believe in Allah. And had the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) believed, it would have been better for them; among them are some who have faith, but most of them are Al-Fasiqun (disobedient to Allah - and rebellious against Allah's Command).

(Aali Imran 3:110)

Allah (SWT) said the Ummah of Muhammad (SAWS) is the best ummah in the above-mentioned ayah.

Then Allah (SWT) asked them to sacrifice a cow.

A man had a pretty daughter. His nephew proposed and the uncle turned him down.

The man was a person with no job and no money and no profession

Men like this like to propose to pretty girls for some reason.

The pride of the man was hurt so he decided to use one stone to kill three birds.

He decided he is going to kill his uncle, marry his daughter, plant the body on his neighbour's doorstep, and claim the dia (Blood money). So the man did this but the neighbour protested his innocence.

They approached Musa (AS) to solve the problem.

Musa (AS) told them to kill a cow.

And (remember) when Musa (Moses) said to his people: "Verily, Allah commands you that you slaughter a cow." They said, "Do you make fun of us?" He said, "I take Allah's Refuge from being among Al-Jahilun (the ignorant or the foolish)."

(Al-Baqarah 2:67)

They asked him if he is making a mockery of them. How is killing a cow relevant to solving a murder mystery?

They were not convinced to do what Musa (AS) told them to do because they were mutazilites.

What they said to Musa (AS) when they asked do you make fun of us was very rude.

This is a rude way to speak to a messenger of Allah (SWT).

Jews have a problem with Allah's (SWT) hakimiyyah.

When they worshipped the golden calf, it proved they had a problem with Allah's (SWT) ibadah.

When they couldn't kill the cow, it proved they had a problem with Allah's (SWT)hakimiyyah.

When the Jews dabbled in magic, it proved they had a problem with Allah's (SWT) rububiyyah because they claim Allah's (SWT) powers for themselves.

They claim they can do things only Allah (SWT) has the power to do.

When the Jews say they are rich and Allah (SWT) is poor, it proves they have a problem with Tawheed asma wa sifaat.

They are ascribing to Allah (SWT) names, which are derogatory.

Indeed, Allah has heard the statement of those (Jews) who say: "Truly, Allah is poor and we are rich!" We shall record what they have said and their killing of the Prophets unjustly, and We shall say: "Taste you the torment of the burning (Fire)."

(Aali Imran 3:181)

Abu Bakr (RA) punched a Jew in the face when a Jew said Allah (SWT) is poor and they are rich.

Because they were not intellectually convinced about killing a cow, they became awkward and asked many questions.

They said, "Call upon your Lord for us that He may make plain to us what it is!" He said, "He says, 'Verily, it is a cow neither too old nor too young, but (it is) between the two conditions', so do what you are commanded." They said, "Call upon your Lord for us to make plain to us its colour." He said, "He says, 'It is a yellow cow, bright in its colour, pleasing to the beholders.' "

(Al-Baqarah 2:68-69)

They then asked for the colour of the cow.

They repeated the same question again.

They said, "Call upon your Lord for us to make plain to us what it is. Verily to us all cows are alike, And surely, if Allah wills, we will be guided."

(Al-Baqarah 2:70)

They were being awkward because they weren't intellectually convinced.

They found a cow, which was yellow, and that colour cow is hard to find.

When they became difficult with Allah (SWT), Allah (SWT) became difficult with them.

If they had sacrificed any cow, Allah (SWT) would have accepted their sacrifice.

When they killed the cow, they were told to hit the dead man with the meat.
The dead man came back to life and he named his assailant.

This is how Allah (SWT) solved the murder mystery.

LESSONS FROM TONIGHTS STORIES

LESSON # 81: SALAH, FASTING, ZAKAH, HAJJ AND JIHAD WERE DONE BY ALL THE PREVIOUS PROPHETS

And We appointed for Musa (Moses) thirty nights and added (to the period) ten (more), and he completed the term, appointed by his Lord, of forty nights. And Musa (Moses) said to his brother Harun (Aaron): "Replace me among my people, act in the Right Way (by ordering the people to obey Allah and to worship Him Alone) and follow not the way of the Mufsidun (mischief-makers)."

(Al-A'raf 7:142)

LESSON # 82: PRAYING WITH BAD BREATH IS MAKRUH

Moses (AS) didn't want to meet Allah (SWT) with bad breath.

Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "If it was not for the fact that I might have been overburdening my community - or the people - I would have ordered them to use the siwak for every prayer."

[Al-Bukhari (887) and Muslim (252)]

LESSON # 83: ALLAH SPOKE TO MUSA ON MOUNT SINAI WITH A VOICE WHICH IS AUDIBLE

Those Messengers! We preferred some to others; to some of them Allah spoke (directly); others He raised to degrees (of honour); and to 'Iesa (Jesus), the son of Maryam (Mary), We gave clear proofs and evidences, and supported him with Ruh-ul-Qudus [Jibrael (Gabriel)]. If Allah had willed, succeeding generations would not have fought against each other, after clear Verses of Allah had come to them, but they differed - some of them believed and others disbelieved. If Allah had willed, they would not have fought against one another, but Allah does what He likes.

(Al-Baqarah 2:253)

LESSON # 84: PEOPLE BECOME UNEASY AND THEY GO ASTRAY WHEN THEIR ROLE MODELS ARE NO LONGER IN THEIR MIDST

The Jews became uneasy and went astray when Musa (AS) was no longer in their midst.

This is why they dabbled in shirk.

They worshipped the golden calf instead of Allah (SWT).

LESSON # 85: HUMAN BEINGS PREFER TO WORSHIP WHAT THEY CAN SEE INSTEAD OF WORSHIPPING ALLAH

This is the plight of the Shiites and the barelvis and the goofy Sufis.

This is why the Jews preferred to worship the golden calf after seeing the pharaoh drown.

People want to worship what they can see; this is why the majority of people are pagans.

The reality of life is that the majority of people will not be on Tawheed.

And most of mankind will not believe even if you desire it eagerly.

(Yusuf 12:103)

The Jews saw the nine signs of Musa (AS):
(1) The rod,
(2) The Radiant Hand,
(3) The Drought,
(4) The Flood,
(5) The Human and Animal Pandemic,
(6) The locusts,
(7) The Lice
(8) The Frog

They saw the river Nile become blood.

They saw the parting of the red sea.

Twelve streams of water struck forth after Musa (AS) struck a rock.

That was the 11th sign they saw.

The 12th sign was when Allah (SWT) gave them mana and quail when they became hungry.

The 13th sign was when Allah (SWT) used the clouds as umbrellas to shade them from the heat of the harsh desert sun.

Many of you ask the question, if Allah (SWT) showed them so many of His signs, why did they build a golden calf and worship it?

The answer it that, majority of people can't worship Allah (SWT); they have to worship something that they can see.

Alif-Lam-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'an and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. This is the Book (the Qur'an), whereof there is no doubt, a guidance to those who are Al-Muttaqun [the pious and righteous persons who fear Allah much (abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which He has forbidden) and love Allah much (perform all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained)]. Who believe in the Ghaib and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and spend out of what we have provided for them [i.e. give Zakat , spend on themselves, their parents, their children, their wives, etc., and also give charity to the poor and also in Allah's Cause - Jihad, etc.].

(Al-Baqarah 2:1-3)

They can't worship Allah (SWT) unseen.

One of the characteristics of the true believers is that they believe in the unseen.

The hardest thing Allah (SWT) is asking you to believe in is hellfire.

LESSON # 86: EVIL PEOPLE WILL ALWAYS CAUSE MUTINY

The Samiri was the one who created mutiny against Musa (AS). He built the golden calf and turned many of the Jews into pagans.

Allah (SWT) told you not to take people with mean spirits to the frontline.

Had they marched out with you, they would have added to you nothing except disorder, and they would have hurried about in your midst (spreading corruption) and sowing sedition among you, and there are some among you who would have listened to them. And Allah is the All-Knower of the Zalimun (polytheists and wrongdoers, etc.). (At-Tawbah 9:47)

Excommunicate people with mean spirits.

They are fattaan (people who like to spread fitnah).

LESSON # 87: HARUN SPOKE OUT AGAINST IT WITH HIS TONGUE; HE TRIED HIS BEST

Musa (AS) grabbed Harun (AS) by his beard and asked him why he didn't prevent them from worshipping the calf.

Harun (AS) condemned it with his tongue and he spoke out against him. They threatened to kill him.

He was only one man.

LESSON # 88: THE JEWS WHO REMAINED FIRM UPON TAWHEED EXCOMMUNICATED THE JEWS WHO WORSHIPPED THE GOLDEN CALF

Those who were upon Tawheed practiced al walaa wal baraa.

You have to make baraa from your family if they worship the graves.

Indeed there has been an excellent example for you in Ibrahim (Abraham) and those with him, when they said to their people: "Verily, we are free from you and whatever you worship besides Allah, we have rejected you, and there has started between us and you, hostility and hatred for ever, until you believe in Allah Alone," except the saying of Ibrahim (Abraham) to his father: "Verily, I will ask for forgiveness (from Allah) for you, but I have no power to do anything for you before Allah" Our Lord! In You (Alone) we put our trust, and to You (Alone) we turn in repentance, and to You (Alone) is (our) final Return,

(Al-Mumtahinah 60:4)

LESSON # 89: ALL PROPHETS BECAME ANGRY FOR THE SAKE OF ALLAH (SWT)

This is why Musa (AS) grabbed Harun (AS) by the beard.

This is why Musa (AS) threw the tablet on the ground.

He threw the tablet on the ground because he was angry.

He saw them as evil personified.

They are too evil to live by the tablet.

They are a hopeless case.

LESSON # 90: DON'T UNDER ESTIMATE THE DANGER OF EVIL DESIRES

Hawa (evil desires) caused them to worship the golden calf after seeing so many signs.

And if the truth had been in accordance with their desires, verily, the heavens and the earth, and whosoever is therein would have been corrupted! Nay, We have brought them their reminder, but they turn away from their reminder.

(Al-Mu'minun 23:71)

LESSON # 91: THE UMMAH OF MUHAMMAD IS BETTER THAN THE UMMAH OF MOSES

The 70 elite that Moses (AS) took with him to Mount Sinai had imaan issues.

And (remember) when you said: "O Musa (Moses)! We shall never believe in you till we see Allah plainly." But you were seized with a thunderbolt (lightning) while you were looking. Then We raised you up after your death, so that you might be grateful.

(Al-Baqarah 2:55-56)

Narrated By Abdullah (bin Masud): On the day of Badr, Al-Miqdad said, "O Allah's Apostle! We do not say to you as the children of Israel said to Moses, 'Go you and your Lord and fight you two; we are sitting here, (5.24) but (we say). "Proceed, and we are with you." That seemed to delight Allah's Apostle greatly.

[Sahih Bukhari, Vol 6, Book 60, Hadith #133]

The ummah of Moses (AS) was not good like the ummah of Muhammad (SAWS).

Allah (SWT) called the ummah of Muhammad (SAWS) the best ummah in the above-mentioned ayah.

LESSON # 92: THE JEWS ARE HARD HEARTED

Allah (SWT) spoke about this in Surah 2:74.

LESSON # 93: SOMETIMES WHEN WE GET ANGRY AND EMOTIONAL, WE TAKE OUR ANGER OUT ON INNOCENT PEOPLE

Moses (AS) did it when he grabbed Harun (AS) by his beard.

Harun (AS) was innocent because he tried to stop them.

When Harun (AS) tried to stop them, they said they are going to kill him if he tries to stop them.

Harun (AS) condemned the evil with his tongue.

LESSON # 94: JEWS HAVE A PROBLEM WITH ALLAH'S HAKIMIYYAH

They hesitated to sacrifice the cow because they have a problem with Allah's hakimiyyah.

LESSON # 95: JEWS ARE VERY DISRESPECTFUL TO PROPHETS

They asked Musa (AS) if he is making a laughing stock out of them.

They don't know how to speak to prophets; they are very disrespectful to them.
They slander prophets and kill them.

Ibn Abbas (RA) narrated the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "Verily the most painful punishment on the Day of Judgment are those who kill the prophets or people murdered by the prophet or kill one of his parents, and making statues and knowledgeable people who do not benefit from his knowledge."

[related by Bayhaqi in 'Shu'ab al-Iman' (10/288) No. 7504]

And indeed, We gave Musa (Moses) the Book and followed him up with a succession of Messengers. And We gave 'Iesa (Jesus), the son of Maryam (Mary), clear signs and supported him with Ruh-ul-Qudus [Jibrael (Gabriel)]. Is it that whenever there came to you a Messenger with what you yourselves desired not, you grew arrogant? Some, you disbelieved and some, you killed.

(Al-Baqarah 2:87)

LESSON # 96: EXCESSIVE QUESTIONING MAKES THE DEEN A BURDEN ON YOURSELF

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Leave me as I leave you, for the people who were before you were ruined because of their questions and their differences over their prophets. So, if I forbid you to do something, then keep away from it. And if I order you to do something, then do of it as much as you can."

{Sahih Al Bukhari Vol. 9, Book 92, Hadith 391 (7288)}

LESSON # 97: JEWS ARE MUTAZILITES (RATIONALISTS)

They were not intellectually convinced to slaughter the cow.

The first rationalist was Iblis.

(Allah) said: "What prevented you (O Iblis) that you did not prostrate, when I commanded you?" Iblis said: "I am better than him (Adam); You created me from fire, and him You created from clay."

(Al-A'raf 7:12)

He said he would not bow down to Adam (AS) because he was created from fire and Adam (AS) was created from clay.
