TAFISR SURAH YASIN,

THE FOUR RECORDS OF THE KIRAM AL KATIBEEN

AYAH 4

On a Straight Path (i.e. on Allah's religion of Islamic Monotheism)

(Ya-Sin 36:4)

You are on the Siraatul Mustaqeem, if you can get three things right.

THREE THINGS ARE:

1- AQEEDAH (CREED)

2-FIQH (JURISPRUDENCE)

3-MANHAJ (METHODOLOGY)

Some people, their Manhaj are democracy.

Allah (SWT) disgraced the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt.

Because their Manhaj was Shirk. You cannot use Shirk to establish Islam.

Some take Quran and reject Hadith.

The most important thing in your life is guidance

We ask Allah (SWT) to guide as upon Siraatul Mustaqeem 17 times a day.

The other ayah that comes to mind when we read a'la Siraatul Mustaqeem is surah Yusuf Ayah: 108.

Say (O Muhammad SAW) : "This is my way; I invite unto Allah (i.e. to the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) with sure knowledge, I and whosoever follows me (also must invite others to Allah i.e to the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) with sure knowledge. And Glorified and Exalted be Allah (above all that they associate as partners with Him). And I am not of the Mushrikun (polytheists, pagans, idolaters and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah; those who worship others along with Allah or set up rivals or partners to Allah)."

(Yusuf 12:108)

This ayah resembles the Ayah a'la Siraatul Mustaqeem.

Why did Allah (SWT) mention the All-Mighty and the Most-Merciful in the same Ayah?

AYAH 5

(This is) a Revelation sent down by the All Mighty, the Most Merciful, (Ya-Sin 36:5)

Because these two attributes complement each other.

When one has the power to take revenge but out of mercy, forgives you.

This is how your mercy is appreciated.

AYAH 6

In order that you may warn a people whose fore fathers were not warned, so they are heedless.

(Ya-Sin 36:6)

The purpose is to remind people.

Prophet HUD (AS) and Salih (AS) were the Arab prophets, before Muhammad (Sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).

It was a very long gap since the Arabs had a prophet.

Then there had Ibrahim (AS) who built the Kabah.

Many years went by and a man, Amr ibn Luai, came back from Syria.

He came back from Syria with an idol named Hubal.

He introduced paganism to the Arabs and took them away from the Tawheed that Ibrahim (AS) left for them.

The purpose was to warn people who were heedless to Tawheed.

Muhammad (Sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) was sent to Quraish, the Arabs specifically and to mankind generally.

So where is the evidence is Qu'ran in surah Ar A'raf verse 158 and Surah Al Anbiya verse 107.

Say (O Muhammad SAW) : "O mankind! Verily, I am sent to you all as the Messenger of Allah - to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He); It is He Who gives life and causes death. So believe in Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad SAW), the Prophet who can neither read nor write (i.e. Muhammad SAW) who believes in Allah and His Words [(this Qur'an), the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel) and also Allah's Word: "Be!" - and he was, i.e. 'Iesa (Jesus) son of Maryam (Mary),], and follow him so that you may be guided."

(Al-A'raf 7:158)

And We have sent you (O Muhammad SAW) not but as a mercy for the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists).

(Al-Anbiya 21:107)

AYAH 7

Indeed the Word (of punishment) has proved true against most of them, so they will not believe

(Ya-Sin 36:7)

Allah (SWT) said in the Qur'an surah Yusuf in Ayah 103.

And most of mankind will not believe even if you desire it eagerly.

(Yusuf 12:103)

Ayah 7 is saying the majority of people on earth will never take the shahada.

Millions will believe but the majority will never believe.

Truly! Those, against whom the Word (Wrath) of your Lord has been justified, will not believe. (Yunus 10:96)

Even if every sign should come to them, - until they see the painful torment. (Yunus 10:97)

AYAH 8

Verily! We have put on their necks iron collars reaching to chins, so that their heads are forced up.

(Ya-Sin 36:8)

AYAH 9

And We have put a barrier before them, and a barrier behind them, and We have covered them up, so that they cannot see.

(Ya-Sin 36:9)

They are set in their ways

They have irons around their necks that lead them towards the dunya only.

Ayah 9 was recited by the rasul (Sallallahu alayhi wa sallam). When he was migrating from Makkah to Medina

The Rasul sprinkled dust on the kafirs heads and recited Ayah 9 and they could not see him

The worst type of blindness is not physical.

The worst is the man who is spiritually blind.

Allah (SWT) said in the Qur'an Surah Abasa verse 1 and 2

(The Prophet (Peace be upon him)) frowned and turned away, because there came to him the blind man (i.e. 'Abdullah bin Umm-Maktum, who came to the Prophet (Peace be upon him) while he was preaching to one or some of the Quraish chiefs).

('Abasa 80:1-2)

Abdullah bin Umm-maktum was not spiritually blind, but physically blind.

AYAH 10

It is the same to them whether you warn them or you warn them not, they will not believe.

(Ya-Sin 36:10)

Allah (SWT) said in the Qur'an Surah Yunus Verse 96 to 97

Truly! Those, against whom the Word (Wrath) of your Lord has been justified, will not believe.

(Yunus 10:96)

Even if every sign should come to them, - until they see the painful torment.

(Yunus 10:97)

AYAH 11

You can only warn him who follows the Reminder (the Qur'an), and fears the Most Beneficent (Allah) unseen. Bear you to such one the glad tidings of forgiveness, and a generous reward (i.e. Paradise).

(Ya-Sin 36:11)

The Qur'an can only benefit you if you sincerely believe in Allah (SWT)

It possible that a hafiz will smoke weed and commit zina because the quran will only benefit if you are sincere

The Qur'an will be an argument for you or against you on the day of resurrection

The hardest thing to believe in is not Allah (SWT) but the hell fire

Allah (SWT) is Al Ghaib, the Unseen.

The angels, hereafter, paradise, Hellfire, are unseen.

The human soul is unseen, but the hardest thing to believe in is the Hellfire.

If you believe in Allah (SWT) and al ghaib who will be beneath the shade of Allah (SWT) on the day of ressurection

Abu Huraira narrated the Prophet (SAW) said: There are seven whom Allah will shade in His Shade on the Day when there is no shade except His Shade: a just ruler; a youth who grew up in the worship of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic; a man whose heart is attached to the mosques; two men who love each other for Allah's sake, meeting for that and parting upon that a man who is called by a woman of beauty and position [for illegal intercourse], but be says: 'I fear Allah', a man who gives in charity and hides it, such that his left hand does not know what his right hand gives in charity; and a man who remembered Allah in private and so his eyes shed tears'

[Sahih Al-Bukhari Vol: 1 Book 11 Hadith 629) and Muslim Book 5 Chapter 28 Hadith 2248 (1031)]

AYAH 12

Verily, We give life to the dead, and We record that which they send before (them), and their traces [their footsteps and walking on the earth with their legs to the mosques for the five compulsory congregational prayers, Jihad (holy fighting in Allah's Cause) and all other good and evil they did, and that which they leave behind], and all things We have recorded with numbers (as a record) in a Clear Book.

(Ya-Sin 36:12)

The kafirs of Quraish had doubts about resurrection and the day of judgment

The kafirs of Quraish thought resurrection was impossible.

They said, how can we be resurrected after we become bones?

Allah (SWT) informs that every deed is recorded by the kiram al katabeen and written in a book.

The word "imam" means the book, but they said Surah Yasin was talking about the Shiite imams
the word imam means "a book.

What are the four things that kiram al katibeen write down?

THE 4 THINGS THAT ARE WRITTEN DOWN BY THE KIRAM AL KATIBEEN

1. GOOD DEEDS

2. YOUR BAD DEEDS

3. YOUR INTENTION (you are rewarded for your intention)

4. THE REMNANTS OF YOUR DEEDS (anybody whom did a good Sunna will get the reward of the good Sunnah)

He who starts a good Sunnah will be rewarded for it, in addition to receiving rewards equal to the rewards of those who follow him into it. Whereas he who starts a bad Sunnah will be burdened with it, in addition to receiving burdens equal to the burdens of those who follow him into it.  {Muslim}

And who ever does a bad sunnah will get the curse of acting on the sunnah and everyone who acts upon that sunnah.

Anytime a man kills a man, Qabil (Cain) the first son of Adam (AS), he shares the sin of every murder because he was the first person to establish the sunnah of murder.

Narrated 'Abdullah:  The Prophet said, "None is killed unjustly, but the first son of Adam will have a part of its burden." Sufyan said, "...a part of its blood because he was the first to establish the tradition of murdering."

(Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 9, Book 92, Number 423)

This is the meaning of the ayah "we shall write down your deeds, and the remnants of your deeds.

If you introduce something good, all people who acted upon it, you will get the blessing.

If you introduce something evil you will earn a portion of the sin.

AYAH 13

And put forward to them a similitude; the (story of the) dwellers of the town, [It is said that the town was Antioch (Antakiya)], when there came Messengers to them.

(Ya-Sin 36:13)

Antakya is a city in Turkey.

Shamun, Yuhanna, Bulus are the three messengers of Antakya.

The people of the town said, "you are only human beings like us, and you are only telling lies.

The infidels always heed the arguments against the messengers "you are just men like us.

AYAH 15

They (people of the town) said: "You are only human beings like ourselves, and the Most Beneficent (Allah) has revealed nothing, you are only telling lies."

(Ya-Sin 36:15)

And the chiefs of his people, who disbelieved and denied the Meeting in the Hereafter, and to whom We had given the luxuries and comforts of this life, said: "He is no more than a human being like you, he eats of that which you eat, and drinks of what you drink."If you were to obey a human being like yourselves, then verily! You indeed would be losers.

(Al-Mu'minun 23:33-34)

That was the argument they used against prophet Hud (AS)

And they say: "Why does this Messenger (Muhammad SAW) eat food, and walk about in the markets (like ourselves). Why is not an angel sent down to him to be a warner with him?

(Al-Furqan 25:7)

They used the same argument against Muhammad (Sallallahu alayhi wa sallam)

"What kind of a prophet is this he goes to a market place to buy his fruits and vegetables just like us, he walks around like us? How can we follow him?

"Why were we not sent an angel?

They can't accuse him of certain sins, so they state "he is just a man like us.

And We never sent before you (O Muhammad SAW) any of the Messengers but verily, they ate food and walked in the markets. And We have made some of you as a trial for others: will you have patience? And your Lord is Ever All-Seer (of everything).

(Al-Furqan 25:20)

All the prophets that came before Muhammad (Sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) were human as well, Jesus (AS), Abraham (AS), Noah (AS) were men.

They are complaining, "Why is Muhammad walking in market place" they were answered in Surah 25:20.

David (AS) used to do manual labor at a blacksmith to feed his family.

Abraham (AS), Jacob (AS) were shepherds.

Suleiman (AS) was very rich, richest of all prophets.

The more you have of the dunya, the more you have to answer for.

You will be asked for all your pleasures (naeem).

Then, on that Day, you shall be asked about the delight (you indulged in, in this world)!

(At-Takathur 102:8)

You will be asked about all your pleasures (na'eem) eating, drinking, intercourse, Sulaiman (AS) was the richest prophet, and will be the last prophet to enter paradise.

AYAH 16

The Messengers said: "Our Lord knows that we have been sent as Messengers to you,

(Ya-Sin 36:16)

Allah (SWT) spoke about their plight in surah Al Mulk verse 8-11.

It almost bursts up with fury. Every time a group is cast therein, its keeper will ask: "Did no warner come to you?" They will say: "Yes indeed; a warner did come to us, but we belied him and said: 'Allah never sent down anything (of revelation), you are only in great error.'"

(Al-Mulk 67:8-9)

And they will say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we would not have been among the dwellers of the blazing Fire!" Then they will confess their sin. So, away with the dwellers of the blazing Fire.

(Al-Mulk 67:10-11)

It will be said to them "did no warner come to you" they will say "yes but we denied them.

Those who reject faith in the messengers will regret it, but it will be too late for them.

Their destiny will be in the Hellfire.

Our duty is only to convey the message.

AYAH 17

"And our duty is only to convey plainly (the Message)."

(Ya-Sin 36:17)

We cant make anyone Muslims, only Allah (SWT) can guide

Verily! You (O Muhammad SAW) guide not whom you like, but Allah guides whom He wills. And He knows best those who are the guided.

(Al-Qasas 28:56)

28:56 was revealed because the prophet (Sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) saw his uncle die as kafir.

If we could guide we would not have Sufis, Barelvis, Sufis, and Saudi Salafis.

We have misguided in our families because we cannot guide.

Every family has four or five different version of Islam (Barelvi, Sufi, Rationalist, Fatalist, Modernist, Secularist, etc).

AYAH 18

They (people) said: "For us, we see an evil omen from you, if you cease not, we will surely stone you, and a painful torment will touch you from us."

(Ya-Sin 36:1

"Any time people like you come to a town, the rain does not fall anymore" because the knew the story of people of Aad, and the Pharaoh who suffered draught.

"We see you as an evil omen, you brought the draught.

To believe in omen is shirk.

Abdullah ibn Masood (RA) reported that Allahs Messenger (SAW) said, Tiyarah (belief in evil omens) is shirk..."

[Sunan Tirmidhi (4/160) No. 1614, Sunan Abu Dawud (4/17) No. 3910, Musnad Ahmad (1/440) No. 4194, Sunan Ibn Majah (4/560) No. 3538]

If there is a thing called an evil omen, it is in houses, spouses and horses.

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Umar: I heard the Prophet saying. "evil omen is in three things: The horse, the woman and the house."

(Bukhari Book #52, Hadith #110)

The sharh of the hadith is that people will work black magic to destroy your house, spouse or means of transportation

They told the messengers "if you dont stop establishing the Hujja against us we will put you to death.

People don't like when you establish the Hujja against them.

"THE DEVILS DECEPTION OF THE SHIA, BARELVI, SAUDI SALAFI, ASHAIRA, MUTAZILA, SUFIS, NOI (NATION OF ISLAM), QADIYANI"

if you display all these CDs at a conference, members of these group will not buy these CDs because he wants to hide behind ignorance as an excuse.

People find bliss in ignorance.

Its worthy of mentioning that there is no such thing as 'excuse of ignorance' when you are worshipping a false deity (pagans).

And (remember) when your Lord brought forth from the Children of Adam, from their loins, their seed (or from Adam's loin his offspring) and made them testify as to themselves (saying) : "Am I not your Lord?" They said: "Yes! We testify," lest you should say on the Day of Resurrection: "Verily, we have been unaware of this."

(Al-A'raf 7:172)

7:172 voids the excuse of ignorance.

On the Day when their faces will be turned over in the Fire, they will say: "Oh, would that we had obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger (Muhammad SAW)." (Al-Ahzab 33:66)

And they will say: "Our Lord! Verily, we obeyed our chiefs and our great ones, and they misled us from the (Right) Way. (Al-Ahzab 33:67)

They want to stone the messengers to death.

Our Lord! give them double torment and curse them with a mighty curse!" (Al-Ahzab 33:6

AYAH 19

They (Messengers) said: "Your evil omens be with you! (Do you call it "evil omen") because you are admonished? Nay, but you are a people Musrifun (transgressing all bounds by committing all kinds of great sins, and by disobeying Allah).

(Ya-Sin 36:19)

When people dabble in shirk, they do everything else.

There is a city in Asia called Bangkok the capital of Thailand, they are Buddhist, its also the city of a million prostitutes, once you dabble in shirk you lost the furqan (criterion).

It means you have no criterion, or principles, no akl.

When the two messengers came they were arrested by the king.

Habib an Najjar, he was a leper, for 70 years.

And people came to him and said "we have a cure for your sickness" took his money and ripped him off.

When you are sick you are vulnerable.

For seven years he was ripped off.

The messengers came to the city and they cured him, and they did not charge him anything
and Habib embraced Islam.

When the massagers entered, the king arrested them.

Allah (SWT) sent a third messenger, the king of Antakya arrested the two messengers.

The third messenger became a friend of the king, and asked him why he locked them up.
And said "I have the same creed as those whom you have locked up.

The king challenged him to heal a blind man.

The messenger prayed on him and the man was able to see.

AYAH 20

And there came running from the farthest part of the town, a man, saying: "O my people! Obey the Messengers;

(Ya-Sin 36:20)

AYAH 21

"Obey those who ask no wages of you (for themselves), and who are rightly guided. (Ya-Sin 36:21)
.
AYAH 22

"And why should I not worship Him (Allah Alone) Who has created me and to Whom you shall be returned.

(Ya-Sin 36:22)

AYAH 23

"Shall I take besides Him aliha (gods), if the Most Beneficent (Allah) intends me any harm, their intercession will be of no use for me whatsoever, nor can they save me?

(Ya-Sin 36:23)

AYAH 24

"Then verily, I should be in plain error.

(Ya-Sin 36:24)

AYAH 25

Verily! I have believed in your Lord, so listen to me!"

(Ya-Sin 36:25)

AYAH 26

It was said (to him when the disbelievers killed him) : "Enter Paradise." He said: "Would that my people knew!

(Ya-Sin 36:26)

AYAH 27

"That my Lord (Allah) has forgiven me, and made me of the honoured ones!"

(Ya-Sin 36:27)

AYAH 28

And We sent not against his people after him a host from heaven, nor do We send (such a thing).

(Ya-Sin 36:28)

AYAH 4

On a Straight Path (i.e. on Allah's religion of Islamic Monotheism)

(Ya-Sin 36:4)

You are on the Siraatul Mustaqeem, if you can get three things right.

THREE THINGS ARE:

1- AQEEDAH (CREED)

2-FIQH (JURISPRUDENCE)

3-MANHAJ (METHODOLOGY)

He who starts a good Sunnah will be rewarded for it, in addition to receiving rewards equal to the rewards of those who follow him into it. Whereas he who starts a bad Sunnah will be burdened with it, in addition to receiving burdens equal to the burdens of those who follow him into it.  {Muslim}

AYAH 20

And there came running from the farthest part of the town, a man, saying: "O my people! Obey the Messengers;

AYAH 29

It was but one Saihah (shout, etc.) and lo! They (all) were silent (dead-destroyed). (Ya-Sin 36:29)

It was but one Saihah (shout, etc.) and lo! They (all) were silent (dead-destroyed). (Ya-Sin 36:29)
