Yahya Ibn Zakariya (AS) the story of Yahya (AS) is quite amazing.
His wife was barren and he was appointed the task of looking after Maryam, as signs of Taqwa were seen in here and the elders of Bani Israel were concerned about her, so they appointed Zakariya (AS) with the task of looking after her.
This is a part of the news of the Ghaib (unseen, i.e. the news of the past nations of which you have no knowledge) which We inspire you with (O Muhammad SAW). You were not with them, when they cast lots with their pens as to which of them should be charged with the care of Maryam (Mary); nor were you with them when they disputed.
(Aali Imran 3:44)
He was old and his wife was barren, and every time he would go to her private domain, he would find her with fruits outside of the season, so he would ask her where she got the fruits from.
So her Lord (Allāh) accepted her with goodly acceptance. He made her grow in a good manner and put her under the care of Zakariyā (Zachariya). Every time he entered Al-Mihrāb to (visit) her , he found her supplied with sustenance. He said: "O Maryam (Mary)! From where have you got this?" She said, "This is from Allāh." Verily, Allāh provides sustenance to whom He wills, without limit." At that time Zakariyā (Zachariya) invoked his Lord, saying: "O my Lord! Grant me from You, a good offspring. You are indeed the All-Hearer of invocation."
(Aali Imran 3:37-38)
So when Zakariya (AS) saw this miracle of Maryam, he sought to be blessed with a son even though he was old and feeble.
(This is) a mention of the mercy of your Lord to His slave Zakariya (Zachariah). When he called out his Lord (Allāh) a call in secret, Saying: "My Lord! Indeed my bones have grown feeble, and grey hair has spread on my head, And I have never been unblest in my invocation to You, O my Lord! "And Verily! I fear my relatives after me, since my wife is barren. So give me from Yourself an heir, "Who shall inherit me, and inherit (also) the posterity of Ya'qûb (Jacob) (inheritance of the religious knowledge and Prophethood, not the wealth, etc.). And make him, my Lord, one with whom You are Well-pleased!". (Allāh said) "O Zakariya (Zachariah)! Verily, We give you the glad tidings of a son, His name will be Yahya (John). We have given that name to none before (him)." He said: "My Lord! How can I have a son, when my wife is barren, and I have reached the extreme old age." He said: "So (it will be). Your Lord says; It is easy for Me. Certainly I have created you before, when you had been nothing!"
Even though that he complained that, his hair is white and he is feeble, still he put his trust in Allah (SWT) and begged Allah (SWT).
Umar ibn Khattab reported that Allah’s Messenger said “If you trust in Allah observing a true trust in Him, then, indeed, He will give you provision as He provides the birds who emerge hungry in the morning and return with a full belly in the evening.”
[Sunan Tirmidhi (4/573) 2344, Musnad Ahmad (1/30) No. 205, Sunan Ibn Majah (5/266) No. 4164]
People need a reminder of Tawheed, if they are not reminded on Islam on a regular basis, they will apostate from Islam; apostasy is a reality.
"And Verily! I fear my relatives after me, since my wife is barren. So give me from Yourself an heir, (Maryam 19:5)
The Jews worshipped the golden calf at the time of Musa (AS) even though they saw many miracles.
Many people when they arrive in Europe and America they apostate and the a taghoot turn them into superstars
So Zakaria (AS) feared apostasy in his bloodline.
So the angels called him while he was standing in prayer in the chamber, "Indeed, Allah gives you good tidings of John, confirming a word from Allah and [who will be] honorable, abstaining [from women], and a prophet from among the righteous."
(Ale Imran 3:39)
The birth of Yahya (AS) is similar to the birth of Ishaq because he was born 13 years after Ismael (AS) and Sarah gave up on children.
Even though everyone would like to be a mother, because if you are not a mother you are not a woman.
And verily, there came Our Messengers to Ibrahim (Abraham) with glad tidings. They said: Salam (greetings or peace!) He answered, Salam (greetings or peace!) and he hastened to entertain them with a roasted calf. But when he saw their hands went not towards it (the meal), he felt some mistrust of them, and conceived a fear of them. They said: "Fear not, we have been sent against the people of Lout (Lot)." And his wife was standing (there), and she laughed (either, because the Messengers did not eat their food or for being glad for the destruction of the people of Lout (Lot). But We gave her glad tidings of Ishaque (Isaac), and after him, of Ya'qub (Jacob). She said (in astonishment) : "Woe unto me! Shall I bear a child while I am an old woman, and here is my husband, an old man? Verily! This is a strange thing!" They said: "Do you wonder at the Decree of Allah? The Mercy of Allah and His Blessings be on you, O the family [of Ibrahim (Abraham)]. Surely, He (Allah) is All-Praiseworthy, All-Glorious."
If you dont have the instincts to have kids, you are not a woman, you need children to pray for you when you are inside the grave.
Muslims feed their guests and you have three days to be a guest in some ones house, after which you become a burden on the person.
Ajooz means an old woman
The lesson from above Verse is that loving couples grow old together.
You need some one to give you the tafseer of the Qur'an.
Zakariya (AS) is old, his wife is barren yet they are going to become parents, so there is a similarity between Ishaq and Yahya (AS).
(It was said to his son): "O Yahya (John)! Hold fast the Scripture [the Taurat (Torah)]." And We gave him wisdom while yet a child. And (made him) sympathetic to men as a mercy (or a grant) from Us, and pure from sins [i.e. Yahya (John)] and he was righteous, And dutiful towards his parents, and he was neither an arrogant nor disobedient (to Allah or to his parents). And Salamun (peace) be on him the day he was born, the day he dies, and the day he will be raised up to life (again)!
THE NOBLE QUALITIES OF YAHYA (AS)
The first quality is that he will hold fast to the book of Allah (SWT) he did not digress from the Tawrah
QUALITY 1. THE NOBLE QUALITIES OF YAHYA (AS)
A real Muslim doesn't digress from the Book of Allah (SWT) they accept the Hujjah.
When a person is a munafiq, even if you bring then 100 ayat from the Quran they say "If, but, what if..."
QUALITY 2. ALLAH (SWT) BLESSED HIM WITH WISDOM
Yahya (AS) was similar to Suleiman, as he was blessed with wisdom while he was a child.
He grants Hikmah to whom He pleases, and he, to whom Hikmah is granted, is indeed granted abundant good. But none remember (will receive admonition) except men of understanding.
“Fearing Allah is the peak of wisdom.” (Ibid)
Sufyan Ath-Thawri from Abdur Rahman Bin Abbas said Ayas Abu Yahya related to me from Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (RA) he used to say in his sermon the best provision is piety and the peak of wisdom is to fear Allah.
[Bayhaqi in Sha'ab al Imaan (1/470) and Sunan al-Kubra]
The Kuffar of Europe and America have alot of scientists and phycists, but they are not wise they are called "intelligent fools" because wisdom begins with fear of Allah (SWT).
QUALITY 3. YAHYA (AS) WAS SYMPATHETIC TO MANKIND
To be merciful to mankind is a noble quality,
When people like Genkis Khan, when they capture cities they slaughter everyone in the city. these were kuffar men.
"O Quraish, what do you think I will do to you?" They said, “You are a brother, the son of a noble brother.” He said: "Go your way, for you are free.”
[al-Sunan al-Kubra al-Bayhaqi (9/199) No. 18276, Fath ul-Bari Ibn Hajar (8/18 No. 4289, Seerah Ibn Hisham (2/412), al-Seerah al-Nabawiyyah Ibn Kathir (3/570)]
Abdullah ibn Amr (RA) narrated the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, “Those who are merciful will be given mercy by the Most Merciful. Be merciful to those on the earth and the One above the heavens will have mercy on you.”
[Sunan Abu Dawud, Book 40, Hadith #4941]
And We have sent you (O Muhammad SAW) not but as a mercy for the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists).
People are living in Europe they are obese, not hungry, yet they still apostate.
The Sahabas had to boil and eat their shoes, trees, leaves to survive yet they did not apostate because they were sincere believers.
QUALITY 4. YAHYA (AS) WAS FREE FROM SINS'; HE WAS INFALLIBLE,
If you dabble in sins, you can't enjoin right and forbid the wrong, because you have lost your moral authority and will not be able to preach anymore.
So all the prophets are infallible
QUALITY 5. YAHYA (AS) WAS DUTIFUL TO HIS PARENTS.
And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him. And that you be dutiful to your parents. If one of them or both of them attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of disrespect, nor shout at them but address them in terms of honor. And lower unto them the wing of submission and humility through mercy, and say: "My Lord! Bestow on them Your Mercy as they did bring me up when I was small."
It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (RA) said: The Prophet (SAW) ascended the minbar and said: “Ameen, ameen, ameen.” It was said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, you ascended the minbar and said, ‘Ameen, ameen, ameen.” He said: “Jibreel (peace be upon him) came to me and said: ‘If Ramadan comes and a person is not forgiven, he will enter Hell and Allah will cast him far away. Say Ameen.’ So I said Ameen. He said: ‘O Muhammad, if both or one of a person’s parents are alive and he does not honour them and he dies, he will enter Hell and Allah will cast him far away. Say Ameen.’ So I said Ameen. He said: ‘If you are mentioned in a person’s presence and he does not send blessings upon you and he dies, he will enter Hell and Allah will cast him far away. Say Ameen.’ So I said Ameen.”
[Sahih Ibn Hibban, (3/188) No. 907 and Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah (3/192) No. 1888]
QUALITY 6. HE WAS HUMBLE AND HE WAS NOT ARROGANT IN THE LAND
"And turn not your face away from men with pride, nor walk in insolence through the earth. Verily, Allah likes not each arrogant boaster.
It Is narrated on the authority of Abdullah b. Mas'ud that the Apostle of Allah (SAW), observed: He who has in his heart the weight of a mustard seed of pride shall not enter Paradise. A person (amongst his hearers) said: Verily a person loves that his dress should be fine, and his shoes should be fine. He (the Holy Prophet) remarked: Verily, Allah is Graceful and He loves Grace. Pride is disdaining the truth (out of self-conceit) and contempt for the people.
[Sahih Muslim (1/93) No. 91]
QUALITY 7. HE WILL LIVE A PEACE FULL LIFE.
The reason is because he will be on his deen; when you are not on your deen, your life will be very stressful.
"But whosoever turns away from My Reminder (i.e. neither believes in this Qur'an nor acts on its orders, etc.) verily, for him is a life of hardship, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Resurrection." He will say: "O my Lord! Why have you raised me up blind, while I had sight (before)." (Allah) will say: "Like this, Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) came unto you, but you disregarded them (i.e. you left them, did not think deeply in them, and you turned away from them), and so this Day, you will be neglected (in the Hell-fire, away from Allah's Mercy)."
And whosoever turns away (blinds himself) from the remembrance of the Most Beneficent (Allah) (i.e. this Qur'an and worship of Allah), We appoint for him Shaitan (Satan devil) to be a Qarin (an intimate companion) to him.
People who are on their deen do not hear voices, suffer from distress.
Narrated By Abu Huraira (RA): The Prophet (SAW) said, "Riches does not mean, having a great amount of property, but riches is self-contentment."
[Al-Bukhari (6038 and Muslim (2287)]
Yahya (AS) was noted for enjoining the right and forbidding the wrong.
He was noted for being very kind to animals.
During his this life time there was a wicked king that ascended the throne, king Harod Antipas.
King Harod fell in love with his niece Salome and she fell in love with him and Yahya (AS) delivered a fatwa against this marriage because it was incest.
The fatwa brought about his demise
King Harod got angry and in his rage he dumped him in prison; the niece danced and the king was entertained, when she finished dancing he asked her what she wants; she said "I want the head of prophet Yahya (AS) on a golden platter.
The king was shocked but he felt obliged not to go back on his word (in exchange for dancing) he sent for his soldiers to kill Yahya (AS) .
If you should go to the Museum of London, the painting is there in Museum of NY, Berlin, the painting is there.
Salome, a beautiful woman with the head of prophet Yahya (AS) on a golden platter even though the head was on a platter, it still spoke and it said "your marriage to your uncle is haram, it should not go ahead"
The revenge of Allah (SWT) was swift, king Harod was attacked by king Tiberius in year 39 CE.
And his kingdom was destroyed; they were massacred as soon as they chopped off the head of prophet Yahya (AS).
Harod was dethroned and lived in exile in a land called Gaul and he died there with Salome.
15 LESSONS FROM THE STORY OF YAHYA (AS)
LESSON 1. IF YOU PUT YOUR TRUST IN ALLAH (SWT) HE WILL ANSWER YOUR DU'A
Allah (SWT) answered the dua of prophet Zakariya (AS) and blessed him with Yahya (AS) even though he was old and feeble.
LESSON 2. RIGHTEOUS PEOPLE CARE ABOUT THEIR OFFSPRING
"And Verily! I fear my relatives after me, since my wife is barren. So give me from Yourself an heir,
Or were you witnesses when death approached Ya'qub (Jacob)? When he said unto his sons, "What will you worship after me?" They said, "We shall worship your Ilah (God - Allah), the Ilah (God) of your fathers, Ibrahim (Abraham), Isma'il (Ishmael), Ishaque (Isaac), One Ilah (God), and to Him we submit (in Islam)."
LESSON 3: ANGELS SPEAK TO PROPHETS AND PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT PROPHETS
Then the angels called him, while he was standing in prayer in Al-Mihrab (a praying place or a private room), (saying) : "Allah gives you glad tidings of Yahya (John), confirming (believing in) the Word from Allah [i.e. the creation of 'Iesa (Jesus), the Word from Allah ("Be!" - and he was!)], noble, keeping away from sexual relations with women, a Prophet, from among the righteous." He said: "O my Lord! How can I have a son when I am very old, and my wife is barren?" Allah said: "Thus Allah does what He wills."And (remember) when the angels said: "O Maryam (Mary)! Verily, Allah has chosen you, purified you (from polytheism and disbelief), and chosen you above the women of the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns) (of her lifetime)." O Mary! "Submit yourself with obedience to your Lord (Allah, by worshipping none but Him Alone) and prostrate yourself, and Irka'i (bow down etc.) along with Ar-Raki'un (those who bow down etc.)."
(Aali Imran 3:39-43)
LESSON 4: THE BIRTH OF YAHYA WAS SIMILAR TO THE BIRTH OF ISHAC
Because both their parents were old and feeble both prophets, their births were quite similar.
She said (in astonishment): "Woe unto me!
She was laughing because the gay-men would be killed by fire and brimstone.
LESSON 5: YAHYA (AS) WAS SIMILAR TO SUILAMAN THEY WERE BOTH GIVEN WISDOM IN CHILDHOOD
Suleiman (AS) used to be active as a judge since he was 11 years old, settling disputes between people.
LESSON 6: PROPHETS ARE INFALLIBLE
And (made him) sympathetic to men as a mercy (or a grant) from Us, and pure from sins [i.e. Yahya (John)] and he was righteous,
Then the angels called him, while he was standing in prayer in Al-Mihrab (a praying place or a private room), (saying): "Allah gives you glad tidings of Yahya (John), confirming (believing in) the Word from Allah [i.e. the creation of 'Iesa (Jesus), the Word from Allah ("Be!" - and he was!)], noble, keeping away from sexual relations with women, a Prophet, from among the righteous."
(Aali Imran 3:39)
LESSON 7: LOCUST IS HALAL TO EAT
Two dead things were made halal: fish, locust, and two bloods were made halal, liver and spleen.
“Two types of dead meat and two types of blood have been made lawful for our consumption: The two dead meats are: fish and locust, and the two types of blood are: liver and spleen.”
(Sunan Abu Dawud, Musnad Ahmad, 2/97 and Sunan Ibn Majah, no: 3314)
LESSON 8: IT IS VERY DANGEROUS TO ENJOIN THE RIGHT AND FORBID THE WRONG
Yahya (AS) stopped the marriage between Harod and Salome, and they conspired to have him killed.
LESSON 9: JEWS LIKE TO KILL PROPHETS IT IS THEIR MODUS OPERANDI
Is it that whenever there came to you a Messenger with what you yourselves desired not, you grew arrogant? Some, you disbelieved and some, you killed.
And when it is said to them (the Jews), "Believe in what Allah has sent down," they say, "We believe in what was sent down to us." And they disbelieve in that which came after it, while it is the truth confirming what is with them. Say (O Muhammad Peace be upon him to them): "Why then have you killed the Prophets of Allah aforetime, if you indeed have been believers?"
Ibn Abbas (RA) narrated the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "Verily the most painful punishment on the Day of Judgment are those who kill the prophets or people murdered by the prophet or kill one of his parents, and making statues and knowledgeable people who do not benefit from his knowledge."
[related by Bayhaqi in 'Shu'ab al-Iman' (10/288 No. 7504]
LESSON 10: THE BIGGEST FITNA IN THE DUNYA IS THE FITNA OF WOMEN
The first fitna, which had stricken Bani Israel, was the fitna of women.
Usama Ibn Zayd (RA) narrated the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “I have not left behind me any fitnah (temptation) more harmful to men than women.”
[Reported by al-Bukhaari (5096) and Muslim (2740)]
"The world is sweet and verdant, and Allah having put you in it in your turn watches how you act; so fear the world and fear women, for the first trial of the Bani Israel had to do with women"
Abu Sa'id Khudri reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: The world is sweet and green (alluring) and verily Allah is going to install you as vicegerent in it in order to see how you act. So avoid the allurement of women: verily, the first trial for the people of Isra'il was caused by women. And in the hadith transmitted on the authority of Ibn Bashshar the words are:" So that He should see how you act."
(Sahih Muslim 2742)
LESSON 11: POWER IS THE ULTIMATE APHRODISIAC
It causes in increase in sexual desire and people kill for sex, wealth, and power.
LESSON 12: PEOPLE WILL KILL FOR SEX, WEALTH AND POWER
All the wars you see are caused by sex, wealth, power.
It is only the Mujahideen who will fight for sake of Allah (SWT)
Robert Mugabe is a dictator who violates human rights, why the west does not attack him? because there is no oil in Zimbabwe; the kuffar don't have spirituality, their war is for dunya only.
They are the worst violators of human rights (Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo)
LESSON 13: PEOPLE USE MARRIAGE TO ENHANCE THEIR STATUS
Salome was desperate to marry her uncle because she wanted to become queen; she asked for the head of prophet Yahya (AS) on a silver platter.
Narrated By Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "A woman is married for four things, i.e., her wealth, her family status, her beauty and her religion. So you should marry the religious woman (otherwise) you will be a losers.
[Al-Bukhari (5090) and Muslim (1466)]
Men marry women for four reasons, her beauty wealth, status and her deen. You should marry her deen.
LESSON 14: THE RETRIBUTION OF ALLAH (SWT) IS SWIFT, SEVERE, AND DECISIVE
Harod and his kingdom was destroyed
As soon as they killed Yahya (AS) they were destroyed in year 39 CE
LESSON 15: ANYONE WHO SHOWS ENMITY TO A SERVANT OF ALLAH (SWT), HE DECLARES WAR ON HIM
On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (RA) who said: The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "Verily Allah ta’ala has said: ‘Whosoever shows enmity to a wali (friend) of Mine, then I have declared war against him.
[It was related by al-Bukhari.]
LESSON 16: INCEST WAS MADE HARAM IN THE SHARIA OF MUSA (AS)
When king Harod wanted to marry his beautiful niece, prophet Yahya (AS) had no choice but to forbid the marriage.
LESSON 17: JEWS ALWAYS STRUGGLE TO SURRENDER TO ALLAH (SWT)
Say (O Muhammad SAW to the people of the Scripture) : "Shall I inform you of something worse than that, regarding the recompense from Allah: those (Jews) who incurred the Curse of Allah and His Wrath, those of whom (some) He transformed into monkeys and swines, those who worshipped Taghut (false deities); such are worse in rank (on the Day of Resurrection in the Hellfire), and far more astray from the Right Path (in the life of this world)."
Because of that, they allow their priests and rabbis to change the religion for them.
This is how they worship their priests and rabbis.
They (Jews and Christians) took their rabbis and their monks to be their lords besides Allah (by obeying them in things which they made lawful or unlawful according to their own desires without being ordered by Allah), and (they also took as their Lord) Messiah, son of Maryam (Mary), while they (Jews and Christians) were commanded [in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)) to worship none but One Ilah (God - Allah) La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). Praise and glory be to Him, (far above is He) from having the partners they associate (with Him)."
