TAFSIR SURAH AL JINN {QUESTION AND ANSWER} March 09 2014

QUESTION AND ANSWER SESSION NOW

Q1? CAN A HUMAN KILL JINN BY RECITATION OF QU'RAN, AND WHAT IS THE RULING ON RAQYAH?

Anything is possible - Surah Fatiha was a cure for the snakebite

The Raaqyee is allowed to charge money for his work

The recitation is call incantation

Ibn `Abbas narrated: 'Some of the companions of the Prophet passed by some people staying at a place where there was water and one of those people had been stung by a scorpion. A man from those staying near the water, came and said to the companions of the Prophet, "Is there anyone among you who can do Ruqya as near the water there is a person who has been stung by a scorpion." So one of the Prophet's companions went to him and recited Surat-al-Fatiha for a sheep as his fees. The patient was cured and the man brought the sheep to his companions who disliked that and said, "You have taken wages for reciting Allah's Book." When they arrived at Medina, they said, ' O Messenger of Allah! (This person) has taken wages for reciting Allah's Book" On that the Messenger of Allah said, “The thing for which you most deserve to take payment is the Book of Allah.”'

[Sahih Bukhari (7/131) No. 5737]

This hadith version conveys the message.

Another version exist of a snake bite to the chief of a tribe

Q2? SOMEONE SAID THAT RECITATION OF SURAH AL JINN SEVEN TIME, YOU CAN CONTROL THE JINN OR ASK HIM TO DO THINGS IS THIS TRUE?

The man that recited was an ordinary reciter

This is a statement from the Sufi and we have no evidence of that

Not event the Prophet Muhammad (
Sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) subdued the jinn.

The dua of Sulaiman (AS) is 38:35-39

To subdue the jinn is exclusive to Sulaiman (AS); nobody else.

It is wrong for us to subdue jinns.

He said: "My Lord! Forgive me, and bestow upon me a kingdom such as shall not belong to any other after me: Verily, You are the Bestower." So, We subjected to him the wind, it blew gently to his order whithersoever he willed, And also the Shayatin (devils) from the jinns (including) every kind of builder and diver, And also others bound in fetters. [Saying of Allah to Sulaiman (Solomon)]: "This is Our gift, so spend you or withhold, no account will be asked."

(Sad 38:35-39)

This is the famous dua of Prophet Sulaiman (AS)

Allah's gift to Sulaiman (AS)

Q3? IS IT TRUE THAT WE CAN ASK THE JINN TO HELP US, IN PERSONEL CAUSE?

You are not allowed to subdue the jinn.

If the jinn helps you without you soliciting his help this is permissible

because it took place in the time of the sahabas

No evidence from quran or sunnah saying that a Muslim is permitted to solicit help from the jinn

Please bare in mind some scholars are of the opinion that you can marry jinn

For you to marry jinn, she has to obey you

You will end up subduing jinn - not permitted

You will have to have intercourse

The purpose of marriage is intercourse

The jinn is made of fire

How can you have intercourse with fire?

The jinn has to possess someone to have intercourse

And among His Signs is this, that He created for you wives from among yourselves, that you may find repose in them, and He has put between you affection and mercy. Verily, in that are indeed signs for a people who reflect.

(Ar-Rum 30:21)

Allah (SWT) created for you wives of your own kind.

You have to marry your own kind.

You cannot marry anyone - they have to be a believer.

A Muslim man can marry a Christian, Jewish or Muslim because Christian and Jew are called people of the book.

Muslim women can only marry a Muslim man.

O you who believe! When believing women come to you as emigrants, examine them, Allah knows best as to their Faith, then if you ascertain that they are true believers, send them not back to the disbelievers, they are not lawful (wives) for the disbelievers nor are the disbelievers lawful (husbands) for them. But give the disbelievers that (amount of money) which they have spent [as their Mahr] to them. And there will be no sin on you to marry them if you have paid their Mahr to them. Likewise hold not the disbelieving women as wives, and ask for (the return of) that which you have spent (as Mahr) and let them (the disbelievers, etc.) ask back for that which they have spent. That is the Judgement of Allah. He judges between you. And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.
(Al-Mumtahinah 60:10)
60:10 is the evidence Muslim girls are not lawful for kaffir men

Marry your own kind means you have to marry a human being

Allah (SWT) said don't take Christian girls as your girlfriend

desiring chastity (i.e. taking them in legal wedlock) not committing illegal sexual intercourse, nor taking them as girl-friends. And whosoever disbelieves in the Oneness of Allah and in all the other Articles of Faith [i.e. His (Allah's), Angels, His Holy Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection and Al Qadar (Divine Preordainments)], then fruitless is his work, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers.

(Al-Ma'idah 5:5)

Umar check mate him with surah Al Ma'idah verse:  51

O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians as Auliya' (friends, protectors, helpers, etc.), they are but Auliya' to one another. And if any amongst you takes them as Auliya', then surely he is one of them. Verily, Allah guides not those people who are the Zalimun (polytheists and wrongdoers and unjust).

(Al-Ma'idah 5:51)
