(NOTES & AUDIO) Tafsir Surah Qasas - The Christians Cry when they Hear the Quran - Part 5

by Shaikh Abdullah Faisal
10th September 2014 / 16th Dhul Qaddah 1435 AH (Evening)

And you (O Muhammad SAW) were not at the side of the Tur (Mount) when We did call, [it is said that Allah called the followers of Muhammad SAW , and they answered His Call, or that Allah called Musa (Moses)]. But (you are sent) as a mercy from your Lord, to give warning to a people to whom no warner had come before you, in order that they may remember or receive admonition. [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 20, Page 81]. (Al-Qasas 28:46)

This means that there was a gap in the descendants of Arab Prophets
We know about Arab Prophet like Hud (AS), Shuaib (AS) and Prophet Salih (AS)
We know about these, but there was a gap in the sending of an Arab prophet
The last prophet that was Salih and that about 3000 years ago
No Prophet came to them until Muhammad (saw) came

(This is) a Revelation sent down by the AllMighty, the Most Merciful, (5) In order that you may warn a people whose forefathers were not warned, so they are heedless. (Ya-Sin 36:5-6)

This ayah above is similar to Qasas ayah 46
The scholars mentioned Ismael (as) - he was an Arab prophet as well
He used to speak Arabic because his mother was Yemeni
The Yemenis are the real Arabs
The other countries became Arab after they were conquered
Egypt used to speak Coptic before Islam conquered
The Persians resisted giving up the Persian language

Allah (swt) sent Muhammad (saw) as a mercy to mankind
This part of the ayah is also similar to ayah 21:107

And We have sent you (O Muhammad SAW) not but as a mercy for the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). (Al-Anbiya 21:107)

Abu Jahal made a dua and it was as follows:

Imam Ahmad recorded that 'Abdullah bin Tha'labah said, "Abu Jahl asked for (Allah's judgment) when he said upon facing the Muslims, 'O Allah! Those among us who severed the relations of the womb and brought forth what we do not recognize, then destroy him this day.''' This was also recorded by An-Nasa'i in the Book of Tafsir (of his Sunan) and Al-Hakim in his Mustadrak, and he said, "It is Sahih according to the criteria of the Two Shaykhs, and they did not record it. ''. Similar statements were reported from Ibn 'Abbas, Mujahid, Ad-Dahhak, Qatadah, Yazid bin Ruwman and several others. As-Suddi commented, "Before the idolators left Makkah for Badr, they clung to the curtains covering the Ka'bah and supplicated to Allah for victory, 'O Allah! Give victory to the exalted among the two armies, the most honored among the two groups, and the most righteous among the two tribes.'

Allah (swt) answered him with 8:32-33
Muhammad was the shield between them and His Wrath

And (remember) when they said: "O Allah! If this (the Qur'an) is indeed the truth (revealed) from You, then rain down stones on us from the sky or bring on us a painful torment." (32) And Allah would not punish them while you (Muhammad SAW) are amongst them, nor will He punish them while they seek (Allah's) Forgiveness. (Al-Anfal 8:32-33)

Allah destroyed the people of Hud, Salih etc.
But did not wipe out the people of Muhammad (saw)
Because Muhammad was with the people, and he was a mercy to mankind
Allah destroyed all these people with their prophets witnessing their destruction

And if (We had) not (sent you to the people of Makkah) in case a calamity should seize them for (the deeds) that their hands have sent forth, they should have said: "Our Lord! Why did You not send us a Messenger? We should then have followed Your Ayat (Verses of the Qur'an) and should have been among the believers." (Al-Qasas 28:47)

If Allah did not send a messenger to Makkah
The people would have asked why He didn’t send them a messenger.

But when the truth (i.e. Muhammad SAW with his Message) has come to them from Us, they say: "Why is he not given the like of what was given to Musa (Moses)? Did they not disbelieve in that which was given to Musa (Moses) of old? They say: "Two kinds of magic [the Taurat (Torah) and the Qur'an] each helping the other!" And they say: "Verily! In both we are disbelievers." (Al-Qasas 28:48)

The above ayah is saying to the people that you are a liar, you don't believe in anything

And those who disbelieve say: "We believe not in this Qur'an nor in that which was before it," but if you could see when the Zalimun (polytheists and wrongdoers, etc.) will be made to stand before their Lord, how they will cast the (blaming) word one to another! Those who were deemed weak will say to those who were arrogant: "Had it not been for you, we should certainly have been believers!" (Saba' 34:31)

The evidence to that is 34:31 above
They don't believe in the message of Moses or Muhammad (saw)
Even if they were given miracles like that of Musa (as) they won’t believe
If you reject one prophet, you will reject all
The people of power and influence bully the weak and force them to reject Islam
Ex: If you accept Islam, you will lose your job

Friends on that Day will be foes one to another except Al-Muttaqun (pious - see V.2:2). (Az-Zukhruf 43:67)

On Judgment Day, friends will become enemies except for the pious
On Judgment Day, the weak will blame the powerful
It's called the blame game
Everyone will look for someone to blame
You are the one who caused me not to accept Islam

When a kafir rejects faith in one prophet
They will reject faith in any other prophets
If they reject one book they will reject all others
Hence the Jews rejected the Injil likewise they rejected the Quran
Because one is a follow on

Say (to them, O Muhammad SAW) : "Then bring a Book from Allah, which is a better guide than these two [the Taurat (Torah) and the Qur'an], that I may follow it, if you are truthful." (Al-Qasas 28:49)

If you are not happy with what has been revealed by Allah, then bring a better book
It's impossible to bring something better than what Allah (swt) has brought
The Quran is the mother of all books
When a person wants to become a kaafir
He will look for every reason to be so
They complain 'why has Allah revealed it to the Prophet (SAW)
They also complain ' why didn't an angel bring down the revelations'
They are looking for a reason to not to believe
That's why they're always complaining
A born muslim who wants to apostate
Will also look for reasons to apostate

But if they answer you not (i.e. do not believe in your doctrine of Islamic Monotheism, nor follow you), then know that they only follow their own lusts. And who is more astray than one who follows his own lusts, without guidance from Allah? Verily! Allah guides not the people who are Zalimun (wrong-doers, disobedient to Allah, and polytheists). (Al-Qasas 28:50)

Allah states that the reason why they are complaining is
Because they follow their evil and corrupted desires
You can't appreciate the Quran until someone explains it to you
Some people worship their evil and corrupted desires

Have you seen him who takes his own lust (vain desires) as his ilah (god), and Allah knowing (him as such), left him astray, and sealed his hearing and his heart, and put a cover on his sight. Who then will guide him after Allah? Will you not then remember? (Al-Jathiyah 45:23)

In democracy, they follow Hawa (desire)

And if the truth had been in accordance with their desires, verily, the heavens and the earth, and whosoever is therein would have been corrupted! Nay, We have brought them their reminder, but they turn away from their reminder. (Al-Mu'minun 23:71)

Allah is warning us how evil and lethal evil desires can be
Everything in the heavens and earth would have been destroyed
If the Quran was sent down to go along with the evil desires
So Allah tells us the reason why they keep complaining because they don't want to believe

And indeed now We have conveyed the Word (this Qur'an in which is the news of everything to them), in order that they may remember (or receive admonition). (Al-Qasas 28:51)

Everything you need to know to be guided is in the Quran

We have neglected nothing in the Book, then unto their Lord they (all) shall be gathered. (Al-An'am 6:38)

Everything you need to know is in the Quran

Those to whom We gave the Scripture [i.e. the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel), etc.] before it, - they believe in it (the Qur'an). (Al-Qasas 28:52)

Allah states that the scholars of the Jews and Christians believe in this Quran
Abdullah Ibn Salaam took his shahadah
Because when he heard the Quran and the Prophet (SAW)
He realized it was the truth from Allah

Narrated by Anas: When 'Abdullah bin Salam heard the arrival of the Prophet at Medina, he came to him and said, "I am going to ask you about three things which nobody knows except a prophet: What is the first portent of the Hour? What will be the first meal taken by the people of Paradise? Why does a child resemble its father, and why does it resemble its maternal uncle" Allah's Messenger said, "Gabriel has just now told me of their answers." 'Abdullah said, "He (i.e. Gabriel), from amongst all the angels, is the enemy of the Jews." Allah's Messenger said, "The first portent of the Hour will be a fire that will bring together the people from the east to the west; the first meal of the people of Paradise will be Extra-lobe (caudate lobe) of fish-liver. As for the resemblance of the child to its parents: If a man has sexual intercourse with his wife and gets discharge first, the child will resemble the father, and if the woman gets discharge first, the child will resemble her." On that 'Abdullah bin Salam said, "I testify that you are the Messenger of Allah." 'Abdullah bin Salam further said, "O Allah's Messenger! The Jews are liars, and if they should come to know about my conversion to Islam before you ask them (about me), they would tell a lie about me." The Jews came to Allah's Messenger and 'Abdullah went inside the house. Allah's Messenger asked (the Jews), "What kind of man is 'Abdullah bin Salam amongst you?" They replied, "He is the most learned person amongst us, and the best amongst us, and the son of the best amongst us." Allah's Messenger said, "What do you think if he embraces Islam (will you do as he does)?" The Jews said, "May Allah save him from it." Then 'Abdullah bin Salam came out in front of them saying, "I testify that None has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah." Thereupon they said, "He is the evilest among us, and the son of the evilest amongst us," and continued talking badly of him. [Sahih Bukhari (4/132) No. 3329]

Abdallah ibn Salam asked the prophet SAW 3 questions:
1. What is the first sign of the Hour?
2. What is the food of Jannah?
3. When does the child resemble the parents?
These were the questions asked by the chief Rabbi of Madinah

Waraqa ibn Nawfal also recognized that Muhammad (SAW) was a prophet

... Allah's Apostle asked, "Will they drive me out?" Waraqa replied in the affirmative and said, "Anyone (man) who came with something similar to what you have brought was treated with hostility; and if I should remain alive till the day when you will be turned out then I would support you strongly." But after a few days Waraqa died and the Divine Inspiration was also paused for a while. ... [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 1, Book 1, Hadith #003]

He was a scholar of Jewish and Christian books
He told the Prophet SAW that his people will drive him out
The other person was Salman Al Farisi, he was Persian
He was a scholar of the Christian books
He embraced Christianity then Islam
Another person is the Negus of Ethiopia
He cried when he heard the Quran

It was narrated that ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Abbaas said: Salmaan al-Faarisi told me his story from his own lips. He said:

I was a Persian man, one of the people of Isbahaan, from a village thereof called Jayy. My father was the chieftain of his village, and I was the dearest of Allaah’s creation to him. He loved me so much that he kept me in his house near the fire, as girls are kept in. I strove hard in the Magian religion until I became the keeper of the fire, which I tended and did not let go out for a moment. My father had a huge garden, and he was busy one day with some construction work, so he said: “O my son, I am too busy with this building today, go and check my garden,” and he told me some of the things he wanted done. I went out, heading towards his garden, and I passed by one of the Christian churches, where I could hear their voices as they were praying. I did not know anything about the people because my father had kept me in his house. When I passed by and heard their voices, I entered upon them to see what they were doing. When I saw them, I was impressed with their prayer and I was attracted to their way. I said: By Allaah, this is better than the religion that we follow. By Allaah, I did not leave them until the sun set, and I forgot about my father’s garden and did not go there. I said to them: Where did this religion originate? They said: In Syria.

Then I went back to my father, who had sent people out to look for me, and I had distracted him from all his work. When I came to him, he said: O my son, where were you? Did I not ask you to do what I asked? I said: O my father, I passed by some people who were praying in a church of theirs, and I was impressed with what I saw of their religion. By Allaah, I stayed with them until the sun set. He said: O my son, there is nothing good in that religion. Your religion and the religion of your forefathers is better than that. I said: No, by Allaah, it is better than our religion. He was afraid for me, and he put fetters on my legs and kept me in his house. I sent word to the Christians saying: If any Christian merchants come to you from Syria, tell me about them. He said: Some Christian merchants came to them from Syria, and they told me about them. I said to them: When they have completed their business and want to go back to their own country, tell me about that. So when they wanted to go back to their own country, they told me about that, and I threw off the irons from my legs and went out with them, until I came to Syria. When I reached Syria, I said: Who is the best person in this religion? They said: The bishop in the church. So I went to him and said: I like this religion, and I would like to stay with you and serve you in your church and learn from you and pray with you. He said: Come in.

So I went in with him, but he was a bad man. He would command them and exhort them to give charity, but he kept a great deal of it for himself and did not give it to the poor; he had amassed seven chests of gold and silver. I hated him deeply when I saw what he was doing, then he died and the Christians gathered to bury him. I said to them: This was a bad man; he commanded you and exhorted you to give charity, but when you brought it to him he kept it for himself and did not give any of it to the poor. They said: How do you know that? Show us where his treasure is. So I showed them where it was and they brought out seven chests filled with gold and silver. When they saw that they said: By Allaah, we will never bury him; then they crucified him and pelted him with stones. Then they brought another man and appointed him in his place. Salmaan said: I have never seen a man who does not offer the five daily prayers who was better than him; he shunned this world and sought the Hereafter and no one strive harder than him night and day. I loved him as I had never loved anyone before, and I stayed with him for a while. Then when he was about to die, I said: O So and so, I was with you and I loved you as I had never loved anyone before, and now the decree of Allaah has come to you as you see; to whom do you advise me to go? What do you command me to do? He said: O my son, by Allaah, I do not know of anyone today who follows what I followed. The people are doomed; they have changed and abandoned most of what they used to follow, except for a man in Mosul. He is So and so, and he follows what I used to follow, so go and join him.

When he died and was buried, I went to the man in Mosul. I said to him: O So and so, So and so advised me when he died to come to you, and he told me that you follow the same as he followed. He said to me: Stay with me. So I stayed with him, and I found him to be a good man who followed the same as his companion had followed. But soon he died. When he was dying I said to him: O So and so, So and so advised me to come to you and told me to join you, but now there has come to you from Allaah what you see. To whom do you advise me to go? What do you command me to do? He said: O my son, by Allaah I do not know of anyone who follows what we used to follow except a man in Nasayyibeen. He is So and so; go to him. When he died and was buried, I went to the man in Nasayyibeen. I came to him and told him my story and what my companion had told me to do. He said: Stay with me. So I stayed with him and I found him to be a follower of the same way as his two companions, and I stayed with a good man. By Allaah, soon death came upon him, and when he was dying I said to him: O So and so, So and so advised me to go to So and so; then So and so advised me to come to you. To whom do you advise me to go and what do you command me to do? He said: O my son, by Allaah we do not know of anyone left who follows our way and to whom I can tell you to go, except a man in ‘Ammooriyyah. He follows something like what we follow. If you wish, go to him, for he follows our way.

When he died and was buried, I went to the man in ‘Ammooriyyah and told him my story. He said: Stay with me. So I stayed with a man who was following the same way as his companions. I earned wealth until I had cows and sheep, then the decree of Allaah came to him. When he was dying I said to him: O So and so, I was with So and so, and So and so told me to go to So and so; then So and so told me to go to So and so; then So and so told me to come to you. To whom do you advise me to go and what do you command me to do? He said: O my son, by Allaah, I do not know of anyone who follows our way to whom I can advise you to go. But there has come the time of a Prophet, who will be sent with the religion of Ibraaheem. He will appear in the land of the Arabs and will migrate to a land between two harrahs (lave fields; land with black rocks), between which there are palm trees. He will have characteristics that will not be hidden. He will eat of what is given as a gift but he will not eat of what is given as charity. Between his shoulder blades is the Seal of Prophethood. If you can go to that land then do so.

Then he died and was buried, and I stayed in ‘Ammooriyyah as long as Allaah willed I should stay, then some merchants of Kalb passed by me and I said to them: Will you take me to the land of the Arabs and I will give you these cows and sheep of mine? They said: Yes. So I gave them the cows and sheep, and they took me there, but when they brought me to Waadi al-Qura they wronged me and sold me as a slave to a Jewish man. When I was with him I saw the palm trees, and I hoped that this was the land that my companion had described to me, but I was not sure. Whilst I was with him, a cousin of his from Banu Qurayzah came to him from Madeenah, and he sold me to him, and he took me to Madeenah. By Allaah, as soon as I saw it, I recognized it from the description given to me by my companion.

I stayed there, and Allaah sent His Messenger, who stayed in Makkah as long as he stayed, and I did not hear anything about him because I was so busy with the work of a slave. Then he migrated to Madeenah, and by Allaah, I was at the top of a palm tree belonging to my master, doing some work on it, and my master was sitting there. Then a cousin of his came and stood beside him, and said: May Allaah kill Banu Qaylah! By Allaah, right now they are gathering in Quba’ to welcome a man who has come from Makkah today, and they say that he is a Prophet. When I heard that, I began to shiver so much that I thought I would fall on top of my master. I came down from the tree and started saying to that cousin of his: What are you saying, what are you saying? My master got angry and he struck me with his fist and said: What has it got to do with you? Go back to your work! I said: Nothing; I just wanted to make sure of what he was saying. I had something that I had collected, and when evening came, I went to the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) when he was in Quba’, and I entered upon him and said to him: I have heard that you are a righteous man and that you have companions who are strangers and are in need. This is something that I have to give in charity, and I see that you are more in need of it than anyone else. I brought it near to him and the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said to his companions: “Eat,” but he refrained from eating. I said to myself: This is one. Then I went away and collected some more.

The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) moved to Madeenah, then I came to him and said: I see that you do not eat (food given in) charity; this is a gift with which I wish to honour you. The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) ate some of it and told his companions to eat too. I said to myself: This is two. Then I came to the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) when he was in Baqee’ al-Gharqad, where he had attended the funeral of one of his companions and he was wearing two shawls and was sitting among his companions. I greeted him with salaam then I moved behind him, trying to look at his back to see the Seal that my companion had described to me. When the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) saw me going behind him, he realized that I was trying to find confirmation of something that had been described to me, so he let his rida’ drop from his back, and I saw the Seal and recognized it. Then I embraced him, kissing (the Seal) and weeping, and the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said to me: “Turn around.” So I turned around and I told him my story as I have told it to you, O Ibn ‘Abbaas.

The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) wanted his companions to hear that. Then Salmaan was kept busy with the work of a slave, until he had missed attending Badr and Uhud with the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). He said: Then the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said to me: “Draw up a contract of manumission, O Salmaan.” So I draw up a contract of manumission with my master in return for three hundred palm trees which I would plant for him, and forty uqiyahs. The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said to his companions: “Help your brother.” So they helped me with the palm trees, one man gave thirty small trees and another gave twenty, and another gave fifteen, and another gave ten, i.e., each man gave according to what he had, until they had collected three hundred small trees for me. Then the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said to me: “Go, O Salmaan, and dig the holes where they are to be planted. When you have finished, come to me and I will plant them with my own hand.” So I dug the holes for them, and my companions helped me, then when I had finished, I came to him and told him. The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) came out with me and we started to bring the trees close and the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) planted them with his own hand. By the One in Whose hand is the soul of Salmaan, not one single tree among them died. So I had paid off the trees but there still remained the money. A piece of gold the size of an egg was brought to the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) from one of his campaigns. He said: “What happened to the Persian who had a contract of manumission?” I was summoned to him and he said: “Take this and pay off what you owe, O Salmaan.” I said: How could this pay off everything I owe, O Messenger of Allaah? He said: “Take it, and Allaah will help you to pay off what you owe.” So I took it and weighed it for them, and by the One in Whose hand is the soul of Salmaan, it was forty uqiyahs, so I paid them their dues and I was set free. I was present with the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) at al-Khandaq, and after that I did not miss any major event with him.

[Narrated by Ahmad in al-Musnad (5/441). The scholars of hadeeth said: Its isnaad is hasan.]

And when they (who call themselves Christians) listen to what has been sent down to the Messenger (Muhammad SAW), you see their eyes overflowing with tears because of the truth they have recognised. They say: "Our Lord! We believe; so write us down among the witnesses. (Al-Ma'idah 5:83)

Allah is talking about the Christians in the above ayah
They always cry when they hear the Quran
The Negus of Ethiopia cried when he heard the recitation of Surah Maryam
And he was a Christian

And when it is recited to them, they say: "We believe in it. Verily, it is the truth from our Lord. Indeed even before it we have been from those who submit themselves to Allah in Islam as Muslims (like 'Abdullah bin Salam and Salman Al-Farisi, etc.). (Al-Qasas 28:53)

Even before hearing the recitations, they were already on Haqq
They were not of the Jews and Christians who weren't on Tauheed
And all the prophets who became before Muhammad SAW were Muslims
Jews believe some prophets and reject others
They dabble in black magic
Allah is talking about those Jews and Christians who hang on to tauheed
And did not go astray from the right path
All the prophets sent before Muhammad (saw) were muslims

Ibrahim (Abraham) was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was a true Muslim Hanifa (Islamic Monotheism - to worship none but Allah Alone) and he was not of Al-Mushrikun (See V.2:105). (Aali Imran 3:67)

Abraham (AS) was not a pagan, but a Muslim
They (Jews and Christians) used to claim Abraham (AS) for themselves
So Allah revealed this ayah

These will be given their reward twice over, because they are patient, and repel evil with good, and spend (in charity) out of what We have provided them. (Al-Qasas 28:54)

Allah states that these people who revert will be granted double reward

Narrated By Abu Burda's father: The Prophet said, "Three persons will get their reward twice. (One is) a person who has a slave girl and he educates her properly and teaches her good manners properly (without violence) and then manumits and marries her. Such a person will get a double reward. (Another is) a believer from the people of the scriptures who has been a true believer and then he believes in the Prophet (Muhammad). Such a person will get a double reward. (The third is) a slave who observes Allah's Rights and Obligations and is sincere to his master." [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 4, Hadith No. #255]

The Prophet SAW said that 3 people will receive double reward.
Abu Darda (ra) freed his slave and married her

There's another Christian who suits this
Tamim AlDari, he received double reward.
He believed in Jesus (AS) then believed in Muhammad SAW

...Do you know why I had asked you to assemble? They said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He said: By Allah. I have not made you assemble for exhortation or for a warning, but I have detained you here, for Tamim Dari, a Christian, who came and accepted Islam, told me something, which agrees with what I was-telling, you about the Dajjal... [Sahih Muslim, Book 41, Hadith #7028]

It’s not just humans who heard the Quran and believed but also the Jinn

Say (O Muhammad SAW): "It has been revealed to me that a group (from three to ten in number) of jinns[] listened (to this Qur'ân). They said: 'Verily! We have heard a wonderful Recital (this Qur'ân)! (1) It guides to the Right Path, and we have believed therein, and we shall never join (in worship) anything with our Lord (Allâh). (Al-Jinn 72:1-2)

These Jinns came from Basra, Iraq
He recited to them Surah Ar-Rahman
They asked the Prophet 'What is our food?'
He said the bones in which the name of Allah was mentioned
The food for their animals is the droppings of our animal
This was the answer of the second question

Dawud reported from 'Amir who said: I asked 'Alqama if Ibn Mas'ud was present with the Messenger of Allah (SAW) on the night of the Jinn (the night when the Holy Prophet met them). He (Ibn Mas'uad) said: No, but we were in the company of the Messenger of Allah (SAW) one night and we missed him. We searched for him in the valleys and the hills and said. He has either been taken away (by jinn) or has been secretly killed. He (the narrator) said. We spent the worst night which people could ever spend. When it was dawn we saw him coming from the side of Hiri'. He (the narrator) reported. We said: Messenger of Allah, we missed you and searched for you, but we could not find you and we spent the worst night which people could ever spend. He (the Holy Prophet) said: There came to me an inviter on behalf of the Jinn and I went along with him and recited to them the Qur'an. He (the narrator) said: He then went along with us and showed us their traces and traces of their embers. They (the Jinn) asked him (the Holy Prophet) about their provision and he said: Every bone on which the name of Allah is recited is your provision. The time it will fall in your hand it would be covered with flesh, and the dung of (the camels) is fodder for your animals. The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: Don't perform istinja with these (things) for these are the food of your brothers (Jinn). [Sahih Muslim, Book 4, Hadith #903]

It's not allowed to make istinja with bones because it's the food of the Jinn

Most of the Tabieen were born Muslim
Most of the Sahaba were reverts
Their children were born muslims
They were not given the shahadah
Them reciting the tashahhud was sufficient

And when they hear AlLaghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk), they withdraw from it and say: "To us our deeds, and to you your deeds. Peace be to you. We seek not the ignorant." (Al-Qasas 28:55)

AlLaghw means empty talk or rubbish talk

Successful indeed are the believers. (1) Those who offer their Salat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness. (2) And those who turn away from Al-Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk, falsehood, and all that Allah has forbidden). (Al-Mu'minun 23:1-3)

One of the characteristic of the mu’min is that he doesn't indulge in rubbish talk
Because your taqwa makes you speak sensibly

Verily! You (O Muhammad SAW) guide not whom you like, but Allah guides whom He wills. And He knows best those who are the guided. (Al-Qasas 28:56)

This ayah was revealed when Abu Talib death died
The Prophet (SAW) loved his uncle and tried to give him his shahada
He didn’t take his shahadah because of pride
He revealed the ayah to comfort him

Narrated by Saeed bin Al-Musaiyyab from his father who said: “when the time of death of Abu Talib approached, Allah’s Apostle(saw) went to him and found Abu Jahl bin Hisham and Abdullah bin Abi Umayyia by his side. Allah’s Apostle said to Abu Talib, ‘O uncle! Say: None has the right to be worshipped except Allah (La ilaha illAllah), a sentence with which I shall be a witness i.e. intercede for you before Allah’. Abu Jahl and Abdullah ibn Umaiyya said, ‘O Abu Talib! Are you going to denounce the religion of your father Abdul Muttalib?’, Allah’s Apostle kept on inviting Abu Talib to say ‘Laa ilaha illAllah’ (i.e. None has the right to Worshipped except Allah) while they Abu Jahl and Abdullah kept on repeating their statement till Abu Talib said as his last statement that he was on the religion of his father Abdul Muttalib and thus he refused to say ‘None has the right to be worshipped except Allah’ (La ilaha illAllah). (Sahih Bukhari(Arabic/English) Vol.2 pg.248 No.442

Allah revealed this ayah because He is Al Haadi - The One Who Guides

1. Guidance is in the Hands of Allah - Only Allah can guide
The guidance Allah is talking about is Tawfiq
This is when Allah guide you to Islam

2. When a person is dying, only righteous people should be around him
An evil person will cause the person to have and evil ending
You should get the dying person say his last La Ilaha Ila Allah

Muadh Ibn Jabal (RA) narrated the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "He whose last words (in life) were 'La ilaha-ill Allah' (None has the right to be worshipped but Allah) shall enter Paradise” [Sunan Abu Dawud (2/207) No. 3116, Musnad al-Bazzar (7/77) No. 2626, Tabarani in ‘al-Mu’jam al-Kabir’ (20/112) No. 221, Mustadrak al-Hakim (1/503) No. 1299]

3. The Prophet was the best of people but couldn't give hidaya

4. Pride causes people to die as kuffar
Like Pharoah, Nimrod, Abu lahb, Abu Jahl and Abu Talib

It Is narrated on the authority of Abdullah b. Mas'ud that the Apostle of Allah (SAW), observed: He who has in his heart the weight of a mustard seed of pride shall not enter Paradise. A person (amongst his hearers) said: Verily a person loves that his dress should be fine, and his shoes should be fine. He (the Holy Prophet) remarked: Verily, Allah is Graceful and He loves Grace. Pride is disdaining the truth (out of self-conceit) and contempt for the people. [Sahih Muslim (1/93) No. 91]

Pride is when you look down on people and reject the truth

5. Some people are loyal to a fault
Because you are loyal to falsehood
That's the meaning of the expression
Some people are loyal to a fault to the point where the reject MUHAMMAD SAW
If you are loyal to Islam then Alhamdulillah
But if you are loyal to Christianity or other falsehood are doomed

It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "By Him in Whose hand is the life of Muhammad, any Christian or Jew who heard about me and died whilst regecting me, such a person is in the hell fire to abide there forever." [Sahih Muslim (1/134) No. 153 and Musnad Ahmad (2/350) No. 8594]
