AYAH 161

And [mention, O Muhammad], when it was said to them, "Dwell in this city and eat from it wherever you will and say, 'Relieve us of our burdens,' and enter the gate bowing humbly; We will [then] forgive you your sins. We will increase the doers of good [in goodness and reward]." [7:161]

The town Allah (swt) is talking about here is Jerusalem
The people (Bani Israel) entered the city crawling on their bottoms
Although they were to enter with humility
They did so to make a mockery of Allah's revelation

AYAH 162

But those who wronged among them changed [the words] to a statement other than that which had been said to them. So We sent upon them a punishment from the sky for the wrong that they were doing. [7:162]

The above ayah is clear evidence that Jews like to change the words of Allah
Allah (swt) said hitta meaning seek Allah's forgiveness
But they changed the word to hinta which means wheat
Saying Allah (swt) did not tell them to ask for forgiveness,
But He said for them to go and eat wheat

Allah’s Messenger () said, "It was said to Bani Israel, Enter the gate (of the town) with humility (prostrating yourselves) and saying: "Repentance", but they changed the word and entered the town crawling on their buttocks and saying: "A wheat grain in the hair."  Sahih al-Bukhari: Vol. 4, Book 55, Hadith 615

2:79 explains the behavior of Jews

So woe to those who write the "scripture" with their own hands, then say, "This is from Allah," in order to exchange it for a small price. Woe to them for what their hands have written and woe to them for what they earn. [2:79]

Not only do the Jews change the words of Allah (swt),
But they also sold it for a miserable price

AYAH 162

But those among them who did wrong changed the word that had been told to them. So We sent on them a torment from heaven in return for their wrong-doings. (Al-A'raf 7:162)

What is the meaning of the word TORMENT in the above ayah?
It means a PLAGUE that Allah (swt) sent against them
As a punishment for their disobedience

The Prophet (saw) said if you hear of a pandemic in a land,
Do not go to that land and if you are in the land,
Do not leave the land to spread the disease
For example EBOLA

I have heard Allah's Apostle saying, 'If you hear about it (an outbreak of plague) in a land, do not go to it; but if plague breaks out in a country where you are staying, do not run away from it.'" 'Umar thanked Allah and returned to Medina. [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 7, Book 71, Hadith 625]

Narrated By 'Abdullah bin 'Abbas: 'Umar bin Al-Khattab departed for Sham and when he reached Sargh, the commanders of the (Muslim) army, Abu 'Ubaida bin Al-Jarrah and his companions met him and told him that an epidemic had broken out in Sham. 'Umar said, "Call for me the early emigrants." So 'Umar called them, consulted them and informed them that an epidemic had broken out in Sham. Those people differed in their opinions. Some of them said, "We have come out for a purpose and we do not think that it is proper to give it up," while others said (to 'Umar), "You have along with you other people and the companions of Allah's Apostle so do not advise that we take them to this epidemic." 'Umar said to them, "Leave me now." Then he said, "Call the Ansar for me." I called them and he consulted them and they followed the way of the emigrants and differed as they did. He then said to them, Leave me now," and added, "Call for me the old people of Quraish who emigrated in the year of the Conquest of Mecca." I called them and they gave a unanimous opinion saying, "We advise that you should return with the people and do not take them to that (place) of epidemic." So 'Umar made an announcement, "I will ride back to Medina in the morning, so you should do the same." Abu 'Ubaida bin Al-Jarrah said (to 'Umar), "Are you running away from what Allah had ordained?" 'Umar said, "Would that someone else had said such a thing, O Abu 'Ubaida! Yes, we are running from what Allah had ordained to what Allah has ordained. [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 7, Book 71, Hadith 625]

There is a remedy for every malady, and when the remedy is applied to the disease it is cured with the permission of Allah, the Exalted and Glorious. Sahih Bukhari; (7/71) 624

These are some of the ahadith that we have about diseases
When the hadith (below) says no disease is contagious
In other words, no disease can catch you unless it is the qadr of Allah
This doesn’t mean that you are not allowed to marry someone with AIDS
Because every Muslim should tie his camel then trust in Allah

Narrated By Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, '(There is) no 'Adwa (no contagious disease is conveyed without Allah's permission) nor is there any bad omen (from birds), nor is there any Hamah, nor is there any bad omen in the month of Safar, and one should run away from the leper as one runs away from a lion." Sahih Bukhari, Vol 7, Book 71. Medicine. Hadith 615.

So if no disease is contagious, why should you run away from the leper?
Because you tie your camel by running away from the leper

AYAH 163

And ask them (O Muhammad ) about the town that was by the sea, when they transgressed in the matter of the Sabbath (i.e. Saturday): when their fish came to them openly on the Sabbath day, and did not come to them on the day they had no Sabbath. Thus We made a trial of them for they used to rebel (7:163).

This was a fitna for the Jews; not being allowed to fish on a Saturday
Because the fish came to them on a Saturday
There is no Sabbath in the shariah of Muhammad (saw)
Because the shariah of Muhammad (saw) comes with ease

In the above ayah, the town Allah (swt) is speaking about is Aylah
According to Ibn Kathir it is beside Median, the town of Shuaib (as)
This is where the fish used to come as a fitna for them (the Jews)

AYAH 164

And when a community among them said: "Why do you preach to a people whom Allah is about to destroy or to punish with a severe torment?" (The preachers) said: "In order to be free from guilt before your Lord (Allah), and perhaps they may fear Allah." [7:164]

Some people will ask that if these peoples’ hearts are sealed,
Why should you preach to them?
The answer to this is, in order to be free from guilt we do our part
And call them to the truth

The above ayah means it is incumbent upon us to enjoin the right and forbid the wrong
Therefore, to enjoin the right and forbid the wrong is a religious duty
You are commanded to enjoin the right and forbid the wrong in surah 3:104

Let there arise out of you a group of people inviting to all that is good (Islam), enjoining Al-Ma'ruf (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam orders one to do) and forbidding Al-Munkar (polytheism and disbelief and all that Islam has forbidden). And it is they who are the successful. [3:104]

Allah (swt) said the ummah of Muhammad (saw) is the best ummah because of three reasons:

1. You enjoin the right
2. You forbid the wrong
3. You believe in Allah (swt) properly

You [true believers in Islamic Monotheism, and real followers of Prophet Muhammad  and his Sunnah (legal ways, etc.)] are the best of peoples ever raised up for mankind; you enjoin Al-Ma'ruf (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam has ordained) and forbid Al-Munkar (polytheism, disbelief and all that Islam has forbidden), and you believe in Allah…. [3:110]

Then Allah (swt) said to fear a torment that will envelope everyone

And fear the Fitnah (affliction and trial, etc.) which affects not in particular (only) those of you who do wrong (but it may afflict all the good and the bad people), and know that Allah is Severe in punishment. (Al-Anfal 8:25)

The torment will envelope everyone
Because the good people did not enjoin the right and forbid the wrong

On the authority of Abu Umar who said: Allah sent two angels to destroy a township with a natural disaster, but when they got there they found a man praying in the mosque. They went back to Allah and said: 'O Allah we found a man praying in the mosque.' Allah said to the two angels: 'Go back and destroy the township with that man as well because not once did he ever frown when he saw the people indulging in haram.' [Ibnul Qayyim, al-Jawaab al-Kaafi (Vol. 1, pg. 46)]

AYAH 165

So when they forgot the remindings that had been given to them, We rescued those who forbade evil, but We seized those who did wrong with a severe torment because they used to rebel (disobey Allah). (Al-A'raf 7:165)

This ayah means that when Allah's punishment comes
Those who enjoin the right and forbid the wrong
Will not be punished by Allah because they did their duty

Because the Prophet (saw) was the best teacher, he gave us an example of the ship

The Prophet () said, "The likeness of the man who observes the limits prescribed by Allah and that of the man who transgresses them is like the people who get on board a ship after casting lots. Some of them are in its lower deck and some of them in its upper (deck). Those who are in its lower (deck), when they require water, go to the occupants of the upper deck, and say to them : 'If we make a hole in the bottom of the ship, we shall not harm you.' If they (the occupants of the upper deck) leave them to carry out their design they all will be drowned. But if they do not let them go ahead (with their plan), all of them will remain safe”. [Al- Bukhari]: Book 1, Hadith 187

If the ones that were on the upper deck did not stop the fools on the lower deck
Everyone would drown

AYAH 166

So when they exceeded the limits of what they were prohibited, We said to them: "Be you monkeys, despised and rejected." (It is a severe warning to the mankind that they should not disobey what Allah commands them to do, and be far away from what He prohibits them). (Al-A'raf 7:166)

Why did Allah (swt) choose to turn them into monkeys?
Let me first remind you that there is another ayah where Allah said monkey and swine

Say (O Muhammad SAW to the people of the Scripture) : "Shall I inform you of something worse than that, regarding the recompense from Allah: those (Jews) who incurred the Curse of Allah and His Wrath, those of whom (some) He transformed into monkeys and swines, those who worshipped Taghut (false deities); such are worse in rank (on the Day of Resurrection in the Hellfire), and far more astray from the Right Path (in the life of this world)." (Al-Ma'idah 5:60)

Why did Allah (swt) choose these two animals to transform the Jews?
What is similar to apes and swine?

Because monkeys are copycats
The people who saw the ones breaking the Sabbath
And said nothing were the transformed into monkeys
They were the ones acting like copycats
If you copy others your status is like that of the monkey

What about the swine? Why did Allah choose to turn them into swine?
Because the swine is shameless
When you break Allah's law with no shame,
Your status is like that of the swine
These were the ones who actually committed the crime of breaking the Sabbath

The sincere scholars used 5:60 to refute the Murjia
The Murjia claim that to dismantle the shariah is minor kufr
Albani was the father of Irja for this century
He revived their creed
He was of the ghulaat murjia (extreme murjia)
His irja was so extreme he went against the ijmaa of the Muslims
By claiming to insult Muhammad (saw) doesn't make you a kafir
And by claiming to dismantle the shariah doesn't make you a kafir
He went against the ijma of the Muslim on two occasions

l-Albani: (We don’t think this accurate is in absolute sense, because it is possible that this insult (sabb) or reviling (satam) is the result of ignorance, bad upbringing, negligence, And lastly it could be with intent and knowledge, and in that case, it is a clear apostasy, of which there's no doubt. But if it carries either of the former situations which I pointed at. Then it's best Islamic to refrain from takfir than to rush towards it.)Source: Silsilat al-Huda wa al-Nur, tape nr. 820, min. 46:03).

Al-Imam Ishaq Ibn Rahawayh said: (All Muslims are in consensus that whoever curses Allah or curses His Messenger, or rejects something from what Allah revealed, or killed a prophet, that he is a kafir; and even if he accept what was revealed by Allah. And Al-Khattabi said, "I don't know of anyone who disagrees with the obligation of his killing." And Muhammad Ibn Sahnun said that the scholars are in consensus that the one who curses the Messenger is a Kafir; and whoever doubts his Kufr is a Kafir.) Taken from (Kitab al-Sarim al-Maslul 'ala satim al-Rasul, by Ibn Taymiyya)

This is called chain takfir
The concept that when you refuse to call a kafir a kafir
You become a kafir yourself
As stated in the fatwa of Ibn Taymiyyah (rh)

Abu al-Husain Muhammad Ibn Ahmad al-'Asqalani said: «The Mu'tazila of Baghdad and Basra, and all of ahl al-Qibla, there is no ikhtilaf between them concerning, that the one who doubts regarding the kafir then he himself is a kafir, because the doubter (sakk) concerning kufr there's no ‘iman for him, because he don't know kufr from ‘iman. So there's no dispute between the Umma, the Mu'tazila and other than them; that the doubter concerning the kafir is kafir!“ Taken from (Kitab al-Tanbih wa al-Radd 'ala ahl al-Ahwa' wa al-Bida’, by Muhammad Ibn Ahmad al-Malati

Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahab (rh) used to practice chain takfir
He put together 10 things that cause you to become a kafir
Chain takfir was one of them

If to dismantle the shariah of Allah (swt) was a minor kufr,
Why did Allah (swt) find it necessary to turn the Jews into monkeys and swine?
When they tampered with the shariah?
This is called checkmate because they cannot answer you

AYAH 167

And (remember) when your Lord declared that He would certainly keep on sending against them (i.e. the Jews), till the Day of Resurrection, those who would afflict them with a humiliating torment. Verily, your Lord is Quick in Retribution (for the disobedient, wicked) and certainly He is OftForgiving, Most Merciful (for the obedient and those who beg Allah's Forgiveness). (Al-A'raf 7:167)

The ayah is saying Jews are cursed until the day of judgement
They will also have diseases among them until the day of judgement
Surah Fatiha says some people are cursed and some people are astray
Those who are cursed are the Jews
And those who are astray are the Christians
There is no other tafsir for this ayah in surah fatiha

The Way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace , not (the way) of those who earned Your Anger (such as the Jews), nor of those who went astray (such as the Christians). (Al-Fatihah 1:7)

AYAH 168

And We have broken them (i.e. the Jews) up into various separate groups on the earth, some of them are righteous and some are away from that. And We tried them with good (blessings) and evil (calamities) in order that they might turn (to Allah's Obedience). (Al-A'raf 7:168)

The above ayah is telling us that the Jewish community is divided among themselves
There are four types of Jews

1. Atheist Jews - like Carl Marks

2. Liberal Jews
They believe in God but they don't observe the Sabbath and they eat pork
They have their own cemetery

3. Orthodox Jews
They keep the Sabbath and abstain from pork
But they join the Israeli army to kill Muslims

4. Ultra-Orthodox Jews
The ultra-orthodox abstain from military service
They look down on other Jews and say they are not pious enough
Allah told you in the Quran that the Jews are divided among themselves in 59:14

They fight not against you even together, except in fortified townships, or from behind walls. Their enmity among themselves is very great. You would think they were united, but their hearts are divided, that is because they are a people who understand not. (Al-Hashr 59:14)

The only thing unite the Jews is paranoia
"The Muslims are coming to get you"
Leave them alone for one week and they will kill each other
Allah (swt) said you think that they are united but their hearts are shattered
Ishaq Rabin was killed by a Jew

….You would think they were united, but their hearts are divided, that is because they are a people who understand not. (Al-Hashr 59:14)

And the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) differed not until after there came to them clear evidence. (i.e. Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever was revealed to him). (Al-Baiyinah 98:4)

In the above ayah Allah told you the Jews did not split up into splinter groups
Until the proof (haqq) came to them
So the haqq divides people
Because some decide to follow the haqq and some decide to rebel against the haqq
